Dr. Gary M. Levin is a Professor and Founding Dean of the Larkin University College of Pharmacy in Miami, Florida. Prior to joining Larkin, Dr. Levin was the Associate Dean and Professor for Clinical Programs at Roseman University. Prior positions include Founding Campus Dean and Professor for LECOM – School of Pharmacy, Bradenton Florida Campus; Chairman of the Pharmacy Practice Department at Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy; the same position at South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, Georgia. Prior to that, Dr. Levin was a tenured faculty in the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine (Department of Psychiatry) at the University of Florida where he became a vice chairman for research. He received his Pharm.D. from the University of Florida, then completed a Residency in Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice at the Gainesville VAMC followed by a Research Fellowship in Psychopharmacology at the University of Florida. His first academic position was at Albany College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Levin has been board certified in psychiatric pharmacy practice (BCPP) since 1996 and is an elected fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (FCCP). He is a founding member and was the first elected president of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP). He recently completed a two-year term on the CPNP Board of Directors (his second time on that BOD). Dr. Levin has lectured at Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine, as well as national and international meetings on various topics in psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and pharmacogenomics. He has also been a preceptor for students, post-doctoral residents, and research fellows in both pharmacy and psychiatry.

Dr. Levin has been active in many professional pharmacy organizations and has held various appointed and elected positions. He served two consecutive three-year terms as a member of the Psychiatry Specialty Council on the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties and served a five-year term with the U.S. Pharmacopeia. Dr. Levin is a reviewer for many journals in both pharmacy and psychiatry and has served on several editorial boards. He has published almost 150 peer review articles, book chapters, and scientific abstracts.

His research interests include improving outcomes in patients with psychiatric disorders, pharmacokinetics of psychoactive agents, and pharmacogenomic applications in patients with psychiatric and neurological disorders. He most recently had external funding to determine what effects certain antidepressants have on P-glycoprotein, an important efflux transport protein. His research group has published several papers on this topic over the past few years.

Michael A. Noto serves as Senior Vice President, Real Estate Services for Welltower. He is responsible for

ensuring that the operations, finance and leasing departments of Welltower’s Outpatient Medical portfolio

provide hospital clients and physician tenants with quality property management services, timely management

information, and a wide array of leasing services. Mr. Noto has been with the company since September 2001.

Mr. Noto spent 13 years as a banking executive with responsibilities including commercial and real estate

lending, credit administration, and the management and workout of tens of millions of dollars of real estate

assets. During his 17 years as a practicing attorney, Mr. Noto was directly involved in the financing,

management, acquisition and disposition of millions of dollars of real estate.

Mr. Noto is a member of BOMA International and has participated on panel discussions at the Medical Office

Buildings and Healthcare Facilities Conferences.

Mr. Noto received a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA in finance from Rutgers University and a law degree

from Pace University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the States of New York and Florida.

Janisse Schoepp has been an integral part of strategic planning, program development, research and evaluation at the Foundation since coming aboard in 2004. Working with Board members, staff, and community partners, Schoepp is committed to exploring both evidence-based and emerging practices that can be implemented in the South Florida region to advance the Foundation’s mission of improving community health. Over the years, she has held various internal positions providing oversight for community investments focused on health promotion, disease prevention, and building healthy eating active communities. Her role includes developing an annual policy agenda and seeking opportunities to integrate policy and advocacy efforts into the programmatic and grant making activities of the Foundation. A public health expert with over 15 years of experience, she has been a visionary leader in building the local capacity for cross-sector collaborative efforts with a focus on policy and systems change. She worked closely with local health agencies to secure over $20 million in federal funds that targeted obesity and other chronic diseases through a collective impact framework. Her commitment to cross-sector collaboration has led to the development of a new focus at the Health Foundation that seeks to connect the health care and community development sectors. Under Schoepp’s leadership, the Foundation has established a Community Building and Economic Prosperity Initiative which is currently engaging anchor institutions, such as hospitals and universities, in community wealth building strategies to address social determinants of health. To date, five institutions have been engaged in a feasibility study with the goal of aligning the institutional policies to support local procurement, local hiring, and community investments which will improve the economic well-being of South Florida communities. In 2012, she was selected as a fellow of the Terrance Keenan Institute for Emerging Leaders in Health Philanthropy founded by Grantmakers in Health. In June 2018, Janisse will be part of a tenmember team from Miami selected to be part of the Young American Leaders Program at Harvard Business School. Prior to her position at Health Foundation, Dr. Schoepp worked at the Stempel School of Public Health and Social Work at Florida International University where she led a federally-funded childhood lead poisoning prevention project in inner-city neighborhoods. She earned her Masters (2001) and Doctorate Degree in Public Health (2014) from Florida International University

Dr. Haffizulla joined the College of Allopathic Medicine in 2017 as assistant dean for community and global health. She provides essential leadership to the college’s faculty and staff to ensure the expansion, maintenance, and sustainability of community-engaged initiatives that promote human health and health education both domestically and abroad. These efforts will improve partnership and community engaged capacity building, as aligned with the institution's mission and strategic plan.

In addition to her role at NSU, Dr. Haffizulla runs her own concierge, internal medicine hybrid private practice, which she founded in in 2008 after practicing in a traditional setting for five years. Dr. Haffizulla teaches Honors Organic Chemistry to the pre-med high school seniors at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. She is also an affiliate clinical assistant professor of biomedical science at the Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton, Florida, and a voluntary assistant professor of medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She serves as a full board member for Advarra IRB and with the American Diabetes Association-South Florida.

Dr. Haffizulla completed her undergraduate degree in molecular biology and microbiology at University of Central Florida in Orlando, graduating summa cum laude with university honors. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine and completed her residency training at the Cleveland Clinic Florida and Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Haffizulla is focused on promoting health, wellness, and disease prevention – both locally and globally – and has been invited as a thought leader to participate in related sessions at the National Institutes of Health and the Office of Women’s Health. She serves as a physician ambassador for the Broward County Department of Health promoting prevention of disease and as chief scientific officer of Haven Home Health, where her goal is to improve patient care with reduction of disease related complications and hospital (re)admissions. She also leads Haven’s “Walk with a Doc” chapter in Plantation, Florida.

Dr. Haffizulla is the host, anchor, and clinical editor for the nationwide health program, Mission Critical Health. She also works with Elsevier’s Practice Update team as host of its oncology and rheumatology series. She has contributed to the production of more than 300 clinician-directed videos to facilitate the translation of the most updated scientific advances and research into improved patient outcomes nationally and globally.

Dr. Haffizulla has given numerous national and local keynote speeches and lectures on topics including work/life balance, disease prevention, heath care innovations and personalized health. She authored 2 books, Harmony of the Spheres: Career, Family and Community in 2011 and, Lead with your Heart: A Doctor’s Rx for Personal and Professional Success and founded and runs a work/life balance site www.BusyMomMD.com. Dr. Haffizulla was the 2014-2015 national president of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA). She is involved on many levels with AMWA including being the co-chair and founder for AMWA’s Preventive Medicine Task Force, founder of AMWA’s fellowship program, and she served on AMWA's governance, finance, membership and global health committees. In her capacity as an AMWA leader, she worked to promote the Surgeon General’s National Prevention Strategy and promoted initiatives to reduce disease burden in the US through work with the Office of Women’s Health and the Department of Health and Human Services. She received AMWA’s Presidential Recognition award and the prestigious “Bertha Van Hoosen” award, the namesake award of AMWA’s founder.

Dr. Haffizulla has earned several additional awards including a Quality First Award from the Florida Heath Care Coalition and a “Leading Physician of the World Award” from The International Association of Healthcare Professionals. She was named an “Outstanding Woman in Healthcare” by the International Women’s Leadership Association (IWLA), which also recognized her as a “Woman of Outstanding Leadership” in May 2014. Dr. Haffizulla was also featured in the American College of Physicians “My Kind of Medicine” series in September 2014 shortly after receiving the Florida Chapter of the ACP’s 2014 award for Volunteerism and Community Service. She is a national delegate, representing Florida for Drexel’s Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership’s Vision 2020 program. In 2017, Dr. Haffizulla was awarded the “Most Outstanding Advocate for Integrated Community Care in the World” at a ceremony in London, England. In April 2018, she is slated to receive a “Woman of the Decade” award and serve as a plenary speaker at the Women’s Economic Forum and All Ladies League in New Delhi, India.

Bob Foster is the Business Development Manager of EBI Consulting’s Environmental Health and Safety group. Bob began his career in environmental health, safety and engineering 35 years ago as a staff scientist, and he has since held positions in marketing, product development, automation services, and sales management. His vast experience, unique perspective and extensive knowledge of the environmental health, safety and engineering applied to the healthcare sector supports his innovative solutions to the changing hospital environment.

Noah Tolson, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Lean Green Belt: Noah Tolson is Array’s Practice Area Leader for Planning. Noah’s varied experiences in developing products and bringing them to market, launching a company, and working as a strategic consultant all led to the strong importance he places on a sound plan that is informed by “round thinking” and supported by hard data. At Array, Noah monitors all planning activities within the firm and is involved during the critical planning phases of every project. In an industry where efficiency and lean practices are becoming increasingly important, Noah offers a track record of designing projects that maximize operational efficiency, resulting in significant cost savings for his clients. He brings a broad skill set to facilitate project delivery with a comprehensive understanding of various project types.

Michael serves as a Director in the West Palm Beach office where he specializes in the leasing and sales of healthcare, life science and professional office properties. Before transitioning into his current role, Mr. Feldman served at Aurum Property Partners as the Managing Director of Property Services overseeing the South Florida medical and professional office portfolio. Previously he served as the Director of Leasing for AW Property Co. where he was responsible for overseeing all phases of the leasing process for six regional leasing teams and a portfolio of 2.5 million SF of on-campus medical office buildings and professional office properties. Prior to AW, he served as a portfolio manager for a national real estate investment company specializing in credit sale-leasebacks.

Lauren is a Senior Associate with Willis Towers Watson’s Corporate Risk and Broking Team. Based in Miami, she is responsible for business development and strategic initiatives to strengthen the company’s overall market presence. Lauren is a member of the National Healthcare Practice and works with the North American Team to align local, regional and national goals. She serves as a resource for issues impacting the healthcare industry, such as regulatory trends, national policy shifts and emerging risks.

Lauren has spent the majority of her career working with healthcare clients across the organizational spectrum developing strategies to mitigate, manage and reduce their total cost of risk – expanding the power of capital to protect and strengthen both multinational and local organizations.

Prior to Willis Towers Watson, Lauren served as a healthcare associate at another global and publicly traded insurance brokerage firm. Lauren is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Mendoza College of Business with a minor in Public Policy. Lauren has also obtained the CLCS designation and is a licensed Property & Casualty Broker in the state of Florida. She continues her service to the University of Notre Dame through active committee engagement as Student Body President Emeritus and as a board member of the Alumni Club. She is also a contributing member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and serves on several committees within the organization.

Carlos A. Migoya has served as President and CEO of Jackson Health System since

May 2011, overseeing one of the nation’s largest and most respected public

healthcare networks. Jackson has the distinction of bringing world-class medical

care – including the medical school faculty and students from the University of

Miami and Florida International University – to a taxpayer-owned system that

guarantees a single high standard of care for all residents of Miami-Dade County.

The system is anchored by Jackson Memorial Hospital, one of the most respected

hospitals in Florida. The system also includes two neighborhood community

hospitals, Holtz Children’s Hospital, Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital, Jackson

Rehabilitation Hospital, two nursing homes and a network of urgent care centers,

physician practices, and clinics.

In his first year at Jackson, Mr. Migoya led a transformation that reversed years of

massive losses, including an $82 million loss in the prior year, and produced a

surplus of more than $8 million. It was the first time Jackson produced a surplus

since 2006, and the system has earned an annual surplus every year since. At the

same time, key indicators of healthcare quality and patient satisfaction improved,

In November 2013, he led a successful campaign in which 65 percent of Miami-Dade voters approved the $830

million Jackson Miracle-Building Bond program, which is the cornerstone of a 10-year, $1.5 billion capital plan to

renovate, modernize and expand Jackson’s facilities.

Prior to joining Jackson, Mr. Migoya served as City Manager in Miami, successfully tackling the city’s ailing budget

issues. Most of Mr. Migoya’s professional life was spent in the banking industry, rising through the ranks over

more than 40 years from part-time teller to regional president and CEO. He spent many years working for

Wachovia, most recently as the regional president of Wachovia in North Carolina and the CEO for the Atlantic

region, responsible for banking in New Jersey, Connecticut and New York.

He is actively involved in several community organizations, including having served as the foundation chairman of

Florida International University and as a member of the university’s Dean’s Council, the College of Business

Administration’s principal advisory board. For nine years, Mr. Migoya served as a director of AutoNation, the

largest auto retailer in the U.S. He currently serves as chairman of the Safety Net Hospitals Alliance of Florida and

the United Way of Miami-Dade, and he sits on the boards of the Downtown Charter School in Miami and the

Beacon Council. He is a member of the Florida Council of 100, an organization of business leaders that promotes

the economic growth of Florida and the economic well-being of Floridians.

Mr. Migoya earned an undergraduate degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration in finance from

Florida International University.

Alberto “Al” Fernandez is widely recognized as one of the most impartial and assiduous executives in the

South Florida Construction Market. He began his career in 1981 as the General Contractor, Qualifying

Agent and Vice President of Construction for ANF Construction, as the company was originally known.

He held this position until 1992 when he was named President of ANF Group, Inc.

As a founding member of the company, Al has been at the forefront producing the quality of work ANF

Group, Inc. has built their reputation on.

In addition to his role as President, Al is actively involved with several associations in the local

community. He serves on the Board for The Memorial Healthcare System Foundation / Joe DiMaggio

Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the Susie and Alan B. Levan NSU Ambassadors Board at Nova

Southeastern University. Al is also a member of the Construction Association of South Florida, Latin

Kevin Dean has been certain about his role in healthcare construction since he started his

career nearly 20 years ago. He currently serves as a Project Executive for DPR Construction.
