Why This Matters

When asked what the greatest challenge developers face when approaching a new project, the answer is almost always either high construction costs or a shortage of skilled tradesmen. According to a nationwide survey from the Associated General Contractors of America, eight out of every ten firms are having trouble finding enough skilled labor.

As demand for skilled labor in South Florida continues to outpace supply, this poses a number of challenges for developers. Sourcing labor from outside the community is costly and ultimately sends dollars elsewhere.

What happened after the recession to this workforce? How do we bring them back and how can private-public partnerships solve this problem? What solutions like pre-fab construction have our panelists utilized?

Hear from South Florida's top developers and owners as we discuss the region's hottest new developments, their challenges and how they stand to affect the community's future.
