Our commitment to your safety

We have experienced the enthusiasm of returning to live in-person events this year, having safely and successfully hosted more than 10,000 executives to date. While we are thrilled to convene together to propel growth within CRE, COVID-19 remains a worldwide concern and Bisnow is committed to practicing safe protocols at our events. You can expect the following:

  • Facial coverings will be required by all staff & attendees, regardless of vaccination status. Masks will be made available at the door.

  • Temperature checks will be conducted at entry.

  • Contact tracing procedures will be employed for any reported exposure.

  • Socially distanced seating will be available in the main event space.

  • Enhanced sanitization protocols will be adhered to throughout the event space including regularly disinfecting surfaces throughout the event and hand sanitizer provided to all attendees.

Kobi Karp is the Founder and Principal of Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design, Inc (KKAID). Kobi Karp founded the firm in 1996 and has been the Principal-in-Charge of design since that time. KKAID is a full-service architectural and interior design firm providing a vast array of services, ranging from the design of large-scale, high-rise condominium and hospitality projects to intimate, small-scale low-rise residential and commercial structures.

Educated at the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Technology, Kobi Karp earned degrees in both Architecture and Environmental Design. Subsequently, Kobi Karp began his career working on major hospitality and all- inclusive resort projects throughout the United States and the Caribbean. His restoration design techniques have contributed to a renaissance in one of this country’s most cherished areas, Miami Beach’s Art Deco District which is internationally recognized around the world.

Kobi Karp has developed expertise in design over the last 20 years, working with a wide range of project types, sizes, complexities, and budgets. It is through this last quarter century working in warm weather climates that KKAID has garnered international acclaim and been selected to spearhead numerous resort projects. Developers and builders in the Caribbean, Black Sea region, and the Middle East have relied on the firm for their design eye and planning.

Kobi Karp is a recognized member of the American Institute of Architects, honored for his award-winning designs and buildings and he is a licensed Professional Architect in 9 states and in Abu Dhabi (UAE). His firm has been featured in renowned national and local publications based on their major contributions in the preservation of historical areas.

Meg Daly is founder and president of Friends of The Underline, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization leading the initiative to transform the underutilized land below Miami's Metrorail into a 10-mile, urban trail and linear park. A 30-year sales and marketing veteran, Meg owned First Media Direct, a breakthrough target marketing company catering to the broadcast television industry. She has also held executive marketing and management positions in the public relations, advertising, technology, and real estate industries. Meg has a BA in English from Vanderbilt University and has served on a number of philanthropic boards. She is also chairperson of the Coral Gables Cultural Affairs Board and a member of the Bike305 Executive Committee. For her love of community and desire to serve others, she was recently named one of Miami's Angels by the Miami Herald.

Mr. Defortuna is President, CEO and Founder of Fortune International Group, a Miami-based full- service real estate firm recognized throughout South Florida, Latin America and Europe as a leader in high-end luxury real estate. He oversees all of the company’s activities across all of its business units. Mr. Defortuna is involved with the strategic decision making of the group, as well as the day-to-day operations of each of its divisions.

He started the business in 1983, and quickly became a driving force in real estate. Through his company’s success and far reach into U.S., European and Latin American markets, Mr. Defortuna is widely recognized for having made a significant contribution to the internationalization of Miami and its reputation as a global business, trade and vacation hub. He currently serves as a member of the Mayor of Miami's International Council and also as Director of the Argentine-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in Miami. Additionally, he is a member of several charitable organizations in Miami, such as Manos del Sur, Mt. Sinai Hospital and St. Stephen’s Episcopal School.

Mr. Defortuna holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical and Chemical Engineering from the National University of Argentina and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Miami. Fully fluent English and Spanish, Mr. Defortuna is married to Ana Cristina and has five children.

Andy Ashwal

Andy Ashwal directs GFI Management Services, Inc. and GFI Development Company’s execution of developments in Kansas, Florida and Missouri. Andy’s role includes management and execution of asset level business strategies for a national portfolio of multifamily and retail assets. Prior to joining GFI, Mr. Ashwal oversaw KW Property Management & Consulting’s expansion efforts in the New York City metropolitan area. Additionally, Mr. Ashwal served as the Director of Operations at LCI, a boutique construction management and owner’s representative firm focused on municipal and residential construction. He is also the former Senior Developer at Africa Israel, USA (the U.S. subsidiary of Africa Israel Investments) where he oversaw development projects including: the repositioning of the former New York Times building at 229 W 43rd Street and the completion of 20 Pine – the Collection.

Mr. Ashwal holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, in College Park, MD and a Master’s degree in Construction Executive Management from the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Malcolm has been active in South Florida Real Estate for over 25 years. He has a Masters Degree in Real Estate from Florida International University, and has previously worked in the real estate investment division of Travelers Insurance.

Brian Sudduth

Brian Sudduth was promoted to President of Miller Construction Company in 2017 and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm. Overseeing the company’s executive committee and board of directors, Brian brings next-generation perspective along with proven industry expertise, judgment and experience. He joined Miller in 2005 and as a knowledgeable senior construction executive, Brian brings extensive experience in project management, effective cost analysis and detailed budgeting, preconstruction and design/build. Focused on providing exceptional value as a leader in the company and the industry, he develops teams and innovative processes that lead to excellence and sustainable improvement in cost and operating efficiencies. Brian graduated from the University of Florida M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management with a B.S. in Building Construction and is a licensed Florida General Contractor. He serves on the board of directors of the Associated Builders and Contractors Southeast chapter and is active in other industry organizations including NAIOP South Florida and Construction Association of South Florida. Brian is an avid boater and fisherman and lives with his wife and two children in Pompano Beach.

Felix X. Rodriguez is a Partner in Bilzin Sumberg's Construction Group. He

principally represents owners and developers in the negotiation and

preparation of construction-related documents including professional design

agreements, construction agreements, and development agreements. Felix

is experienced in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of claims involving

construction contracts, construction and design defects, insurance, surety

bond, and related matters. Felix also assists his clients with project administration to identify and achieve early resolution of potential disputes on construction projects and has extensive experience working with foreign developers in the South Florida market. Prior to his legal career, Felix owned a local development company where he managed numerous residential housing projects from inception to bidding to construction. Since 2003, he has maintained licensure as a Florida Building Contractor. Felix has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in Construction Law. He earned his J.D. at the University of Miami and his B.A. at Florida International University. Felix is a fluent Spanish speaker.

Alexandra Eichner is the President of Continuum Company, focusing on the South Florida market. Continuum Company is a boutique real estate development firm that specializes in complex, mixed-use, ground up development in New York and South Florida.

Until Alexandra joined the team 4 years ago, Continuum Company had not developed anything in South Florida in over 20 years, since developing the Continuum South Beach – arguably one of the most successful luxury condominium projects in Miami. Upon joining the team, Alexandra set her eyes on the South Florida market, with the goal of bringing a New-York level of sophistication and style to projects in undervalued neighborhoods. With her oversight and vision, Continuum Company is now developing luxury condos on 3 waterfront parcels of land in North Miami and Miami Beach and has plans to expand further.

Alexandra graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in Communications and East Asian Languages & Civilization.

He is directly involved in the development management of Optimum’s US portfolio.

Mr. Wohl is a Principal of Coral Rock Development Group. He has an in-depth familiarity with real estate and law. He is a second-generation real estate developer, carrying on his family’s successful tradition of quality development first started in New York and carried down to South Florida with Mr. Wohl’s relocation to the area in 1975. Mr. Wohl had been active in real estate development and management while continuing to practice law until

1990, when he formed his own full-service real estate firm, which has owned and managed over one million square feet of commercial property and 700 apartment units in Florida. He co-founded Pinnacle Housing Group in 1997, twenty years later Pinnacle is

recognized as the leading producer of affordable housing in the southeast United States having delivered over 10,000 units in over 70 complexes. Mr. Wohl is also a co-founder of Ascend Properties.

Mr. Wohl, has extensive experience in negotiating, documenting and closing acquisitions and sales of residential, industrial and commercial

office space. Mr. Wohl is well versed in project financing and leasing and he leads Pinnacle’s acquisition and disposition efforts. Mr. Wohl is a

recognized industry leader in devising approaches to developing affordable housing in an urban environment. Mr. Wohl is chairman of the distinguished Urban Land Institute’s Center for Workforce Housing,

which continually works to solve the persistent affordable housing problems in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. He earned both is B.A. and J.D. degrees at Syracuse University where he serves the University as a Trustee, and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker and Mortgage Broker

Bill Finfrock

William A. Finfrock is the president of FINFROCK, a vertically-integrated, single source Design-Build firm based in Apopka, Florida – one of Central Florida’s largest employers and ranked #9 of the 100 largest privately held companies in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal in 2019. Bill is part of the third generation of the Finfrock family to lead the 75-year old company founded by his grandfather and has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry. He has played a significant role in FINFROCK’s growth through a multitude of various business activities from executive oversight to real estate development. Under his leadership, the company has more than quadrupled in size due to significant projects including hotels, student housing and luxury multifamily residential properties. Between 2016 and 2022, FINFROCK will deliver hotel and student housing projects totaling over 6,200 rooms. As the president, William ensures project goals and initiatives are met – from conceptual architectural and engineering design, through manufacturing and construction to a final certificate of occupancy. He is the key point of contact for the customer and works with all FINFROCK departments to ensure projects are running smoothly and the customer is satisfied.

Bill is a 1992 civil engineering graduate of Vanderbilt University and received his MBA from The Crummer Graduate School of Business in 1997. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Florida and a certified general contractor in Florida and Virginia. Bill is also an active member of the community, having served as Chairman the Board of Habitat for Humanity/Seminole County & Greater Apopka, Inc and Chairman of the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute Board. In 2009, he was an Orlando Business Journal Honoree for the 40 Under 40. He is also a graduate of Leadership Orlando. Bill is a native of Winter Park, Florida and resides there with his wife Jennifer and two children.

Adam E. Richards is a member of the firm's Dispute Resolution Team and Construction Law practice. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Construction Law by The Florida Bar and focuses his practice on construction, providing transactional, project consultation, and dispute resolution/litigation services to Florida’s construction industry, including national and international general contractors, owners/developers, associations, local builders/trades, and design professionals in the public and private sectors. Adam is resident in the firm's Miami office. Adam has dealt with a wide range of construction projects throughout the state, including hotels, courthouses, treatment plants, residential/commercial buildings including one of the tallest in the country, restaurants, a major expressway in Miami as well as other road improvements, and luxury homes. Adam began his legal career in the construction defect group of a regional law firm, where he became intimately familiar with the role of insurance in construction, recovery, as well as defending claims and lawsuits. He then worked at a boutique law firm routinely drafting and revising AIA Construction Agreements in connection with a multitude of construction projects. Notably, his experience also includes a role as General Counsel and Vice President of Operations for the largest residential roofing contractor in South Florida, where he was responsible for all phases of the business from training, contract negotiations, preconstruction, management, closeout, to dispute resolution efforts with customers, trade partners, suppliers and municipalities. Following his time in-house, Adam joined a large, Orlando-based law firm where he lead the construction practice for the firm’s Miami office, and most recently, he litigated multi-million dollar disputes on behalf of national and international general contractors. Adam’s complex construction experience includes contract disputes, delays, non-payment, lien/bond claims, defects, insurance/loss events, property damage, catastrophic injury/death, inverse condemnation, subrogation, and risk transfer/indemnity in both the state and federal courts throughout Florida.
