Patrick Carroll is the founder and CEO of CARROLL. As CEO, Patrick Carroll defines and implements strategic plans designed to further expand CARROLL's existing platforms. He infuses a hands-on approach to guide every aspect of the company leveraging his diverse real estate investment experience, asset management expertise, and overall industry knowledge. This approach, along with an aggressive acquisition strategy, led to the national growth and rapid success of “CARROLL”.

Relevant Experience – Patrick Carroll started his real estate investment and development career in December of 2004, founding Carroll Organization and investing in residential properties in Georgia and Florida. Following these initial investments, M. Patrick Carroll developed several residential communities in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. With the success of those residential developments, he turned his focus to commercial real estate development and investment, successfully developing a retail shopping center, a mixed-use property, and student housing. In 2008 Patrick Carroll successfully sold his development projects.

In 2009, Patrick Carroll acquired three property management companies; creating a 20,000 unit Property Management Infrastructure for Carroll Organization. In 2010, in partnership with Institutional Investors, Carroll began acquiring Multifamily Properties throughout the Southeast and Texas. To date, Carroll has successfully acquired over $6.6 Billion in Multifamily Properties, as well as successfully exited sixty of these properties; resulting in $4.5 Billion in sales proceeds and producing an average gross IRR of ~28%.

Education/Affiliations – Patrick Carroll is an active supporter of Jesuit High School in Tampa, FL, Academy of the Holy Names in Tampa, FL, The Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay.

Patrick Carroll is currently a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council, and the Urban Land Institute.

A commercial real estate investor for over 30 years and an active civic leader, Gavin founded Steelbridge in 2006 after serving as President and CEO of the Florida Office Property Company, a 2.6 million square foot office REIT that he assembled, managed and ultimately sold just prior to the 2007–2009 recession for gross returns in excess of 20%. Prior to this, he served as Managing Director of Acquisitions at LaSalle Investment Management where he invested over $1 billion for LaSalle’s clients in a broad range of property types, consistently outperforming NCREIF benchmarks by 200–400 basis points. Prior to joining LaSalle, Gavin founded, developed and sold Restoration Capital, a real estate private equity firm that invested in retail and multifamily in the Chicago neighborhoods of Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village, Bucktown and Logan Square.

Gavin is the former Executive Director of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, former President of Leadership Greater Chicago, the Ravenswood River Neighbors Association, the Young Leaders Fund and the Latino Chicago Theater Company. He is also the former Chairman of the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois, where he co-led the effort to save the internationally acclaimed Mies Van Der Rohe designed Farnsworth House and open it as an international museum. Gavin is currently a member of the Yale Development Council and Yale Parent’s Council and is an active Little League and AYSO soccer coach. He received a BA Magna Cum Laude from Yale College in 1982 and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Gavin, his wife and three children live in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago.

Jeff Nelson

Jeff has over 30 years’ experience in the property tax field valuing all types of commercial, industrial and multi-family properties. His property tax experience includes real and personal property tax consulting representing both local and national portfolios. Jeff has extensive experience in Value Adjustment Board Hearings as well as assessment & litigation negotiations throughout Florida.

Prior to PTAG, Jeff was the Florida Practice Leader of Deloitte’s National Property Tax Practice. He was responsible for all business development, operations, client relations, preparation and presentation of real and personal property tax appeal negotiations and Value Adjustment Board proceedings.

Prior to joining Deloitte in 1998, Jeff worked for the Palm Beach County Property Appraisers Office for over 12 years as a Supervisor/Senior Appraiser in the Commercial Department. In this capacity Jeff was responsible for assessing all commercial properties located in Palm Beach County. Jeff has appraised many types of properties including office buildings, shopping centers, regional malls, industrial buildings, multi-family apartments, corporate campus properties, resort hotels, and special purpose properties. Jeff also has experience with Court testimony in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.

Ron Rossi serves as a Senior Director and Head of Partnerships and Alliances for Juniper Square. Ron’s career spans 20 years in CRE and finance with a focus on technology the last 13 years. Prior to joining Juniper Square he was the VP of customer success for the Investment Management and Commercial teams at Investor Management Services / RealPage and VP of business development for Investor Management Services.

He has a proven track record of creating and managing SaaS solutions as well as scaling businesses and teams for growth and success. Ron takes great pride in being the voice of and advocating for all of our customers, he also participates in many FinTech conferences and webinars.

Jason Shapiro, a Managing Director of Aztec Group, Inc. and principal of Mayan Capital LLC and Mayan Properties LLC (both affiliates of Aztec), brings over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate investment banking, and leads all capital markets activities for the firm. Shapiro’s primary focus is arranging all forms of debt including permanent, bridge, construction, mezzanine and participating loans, as well as equity and joint venture placements for the firm’s own account and on behalf of the firm’s extensive client base. Shapiro has been involved in and closed transactions spanning all commercial and residential real estate asset types totaling over $2 billion, and encompassing in excess of 50 million square feet.

Prior to joining Aztec, Shapiro spent seven years as Vice President of Thomas D. Wood & Company’s Coral Gables, Florida office. Shapiro was responsible for the origination and placement of long-term, income property loans on behalf of domestic life insurance companies. During his tenure at Thomas D. Wood & Company, Shapiro closed over 100 commercial real estate financing transactions.

Shapiro graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami in 1992 and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami in 1994. Both degrees were earned with a specialty in Finance.

Cassie Resnick

Ms. Resnick serves as Managing Director. In this capacity, she provides oversight to all of the firm’s investments, asset management activities and business plan execution. Cassie is also involved in all facets of the acquisition, disposition and financing processes for the firm.

Prior to joining Mast, Ms. Resnick was an Associate at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels in New York. During her tenure at JLL, she provided advisory and disposition services on hospitality and mixed-use assets valued in excess of $5 billion. Additionally, she was responsible for underwriting equity and debt transactions ranging in size from $50 million to $1 billion across recapitalization, restructuring and other value recovery strategies for non-performing positions. Prior to JLL, Ms. Resnick was an Analyst at WR Hambrecht + Co., a San Francisco-based investment bank where she evaluated initial and secondary equity offerings, and merger and acquisitions opportunities for technology-focused companies. Previously, Mr. Resnick was an Intern at Ernst and Young where she analyzed hotel markets and worked on feasibility studies.

Ms. Resnick received her Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. She is often a guest lecturer at FIU’s hospitality master’s program, actively participates in the South Florida Chapter of the Cornell Hotel Society, Pi Beta Phi fraternity for Women, and Renew, a real estate network empowering women. Ms. Resnick Cassie came in first place in the New York Road Runners 31st Annual NYRR Empire State Building Run-up. She also holds a Series 7 license as well as a Real Estate Salesperson license in New York. Ms. Resnick spends time volunteering at Tribe events and is an active supporter of Kiva, an international nonprofit founded in 2005 that connects people through lending to alleviate poverty.

Brian McChesney

Brian McChesney is a Managing Director at Money360. Mr. McChesney is responsible for investment origination of bridge loans for the Southeast region.

Brian has over 30 years experience in the commercial real estate finance and investment industry. Prior to joining Money360, he was a Vice President and commercial real estate lender for two regional banks, originating construction, bridge and term loans on all forms of commercial property in the Midwest. He was also VP/Loan Producer for Grandbridge Real Estate Capital in Louisville, representing clients in structuring and placing perm & bridge loans with life companies, agencies, debt funds, banks and CMBS platforms.

Previous to that, Brian was a top-performing Senior Director & regional team leader with AEGON USA Realty Advisors for 11 years, with loan production responsibility for several southeastern states, including Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas, and also responsible for a commercial real estate loan portfolio of approximately $1.8B. He introduced manufactured home communities (MHC) as a new property type for lending opportunities, and subsequently produced over $300mm in MHC loans, creating several new client relationships. While at AEGON he also participated in the coordination and drafting of a third party asset management business plan for the company’s real estate investment group.

Mr. McChesney was formerly a Captain in the United States Air Force, and earned his Bachelor of Science/Commerce degree in Management from the University of Louisville, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Golden Gate University.

Adam is known in the industry as "The C-PACE Guy™" and is the go-to source for C-PACE financing nationwide. He has been with Counterpointe since 2017, a leading direct capital provider of Commercial PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy).

In addition to his role as a direct C-PACE lender, Adam helps line up debt and other creative capital solutions friendly to C-PACE.

A South Florida native, Adam has worked in the commercial real estate finance industry since 2002.

Adam began his career with Ernst & Young in the New York Real Estate Advisory Group and he moved back to South Florida for an opportunity to work with LNR Property for a couple years. He then entered the capital advisory world with the Miami office of HFF where he was part of the top team that set firm records nationally for deals closed and fees earned in 2005 and 2006. The team formed Olympian Capital Group, a boutique advisory business that arranged more than $2 billion in senior debt, mezzanine debt, preferred equity and joint venture equity. Prior to joining Counterpointe, Adam was arranging debt and structured finance with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital for a few years.

Adam graduated from the University of Florida with a combined Bachelor and Master's degree in Accounting. He is a former CPA.
