Doug Oberst is a Managing Principal and registered architect at BCRA, an architecture and engineering design firm with offices in Tacoma and Seattle. With over 30 years of experience in residential and commercial design and construction, Doug is keenly aware of the challenges and opportunities present for development and investment in Tacoma. At BCRA, he leads a design practice that is focused on creating spaces and places where communities thrive. Doug knows that what truly drives innovation that supports clients and their users is about understanding their business and anticipating those areas where design can provide the greatest impact. He currently sits on the board of the Tacoma-Pierce County Affordable Housing Consortium and is a member of the Economic Development Board of Tacoma/Pierce County.

As President | Chief Executive Officer of Abbott Construction, Troy is responsible for leading the company in providing an exceptional construction experience for our customers, business partners, and employees.

After a successful start to his career working with other prominent nationwide construction companies, Troy has held a variety of management positions since joining Abbott, ranging from project engineer, project manager, regional director of California, Chief Operating Officer, to his current role.

Having worked and lived in Los Angeles and Seattle, Troy is familiar with the unique characteristics and business environments that define each of the three regions along the West Coast where Abbott concentrates our business. He has been involved with many different types of work, including projects for clients such as Adventist Health, MultiCare Health Systems, Providence Health & Services, Prime Healthcare, Baxter Pharmaceutical, Universal Studios, Whole Foods Market, The General Service Administration, and County of Los Angeles.

Outside of work, Troy enjoys an active lifestyle in the Pacific Northwest along with his wife and two daughters.

Daniel has been actively involved in the Seattle commercial real estate scene for nearly twenty-five years. He spent the first fifteen years acquiring value-add opportunities across a variety of real estate product types. During the last ten years, Daniel’s focus has been on the acquisition, entitlement and construction of multi-family properties in the Seattle area. He created the Cubix™️ brand of affordable micro-apartments to accomplish this goal.

He graduated from Gonzaga University, earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in Public Relations and Communications, where he is currently on the Board of Regents. He lives in Seattle, with his wife and two children.

Randall helps clients acquire, develop, permit, use, and resolve disputes involving real property. He works with property owners, developers, consultants and governmental entities to obtain land use entitlements and, when necessary, to file or defend against lawsuits related to the development and use of real property. Randall also drafts covenants and easements needed to coordinate uses, maintenance and management between multiple property owners.

Randall is also the Chair of Cairncross & Hempelmann’s Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Group. The TOD Group facilitates transit-oriented development projects near the growing number of light rail and bus rapid transit stations throughout the Puget Sound region. These TOD projects will shape the future of our cities and surrounding areas in exciting ways by minimizing the number of cars on our crowded highways, decreasing the environmental impacts related to traditional car-centric developments, and improving our quality of life by creating compact, mixed-use neighborhoods with convenient access to our expanding transit system. The TOD Group understands the fundamental barriers and opportunities involved in transit-oriented development, and has the expertise in the areas of land use, real estate acquisition and sale, finance, and litigation to help clients make their transit-oriented development projects a reality.

With over a decade of experience working in economic development in the Puget Sound region, Derek

Kilmer is focused on getting our economy and our Congress back to work.

Born and raised in Port Angeles, Derek saw firsthand how the region's economy has struggled, and the

impact that has had on families and communities. Derek wanted to make a difference in his community,

so he chose to study public policy, looking for ways to help economically struggling communities. He

received a BA from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs

and earned a doctorate from the University of Oxford in England.

Derek put his education into practice right here in Washington, first as a business consultant for

McKinsey & Company, where he helped businesses, non-profits, and government agencies run more

efficiently. He moved closer to the community he was raised in so he could put his experience in

economic development to use helping to retain jobs and attract new employers during the decade he

worked for the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County.

He then ran for public office, serving in Olympia in the Washington State House and the Washington

State Senate before being elected to the U.S. House in 2012.

During his time in Congress, Derek been recognized by a wide variety of groups for his effectiveness and

advocacy, including being named a Hero of Main Street by the National Retail Federation, and honored

with a Legislative Action Award by the Bipartisan Policy Center, and the Spirit of Enterprise Award by the

U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
