Chris is a Managing Partner and Head of Development for Fourth Avenue Capital (“FAC”), focusing on investment strategy, development, and capital formation. FAC is a middle market real estate investment firm with offices in Seattle and Spokane and specializes in the acquisition and development of multifamily and student housing communities in the western US. FAC’s current portfolio consists of more than 1,000 units/beds in the Pacific Northwest.

Prior to forming FAC, Chris spent over a decade at The Wolff Company, a Scottsdale-based multifamily owner and developer, where he served as Senior Vice President of Development, managing the Pacific Northwest region and regional development production heads across the firm. At Wolff, Chris developed more than 5,600 multifamily and senior housing units totaling more than $1.4bn of investment. While at Wolff, several projects under Chris’ oversight received national design and industry awards.

Prior to joining Wolff, Chris was a Partner at Urban Evolution, a Seattle-based multifamily housing developer focused on the development of mixed-use urban housing communities.

Chris received his BA and MBA from the University of Washington. He is active in several industry organizations including NAIOP, NMHC and ULI. Chris currently serves on the NAIOP Washington Board of Directors and Executive Committee.”

Emily Thompson has an expertise that spans the spectrum of real estate development having worked with non-profits, for-profits, and market rate developers on commercial and residential projects for the last 18 years. At GMD she has worked on the preservation and development of affordable housing across the Pacific Northwest, and she currently has approximately 500 units of new housing in Seattle under planning and construction. Throughout Emily’s career in affordable housing, she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to the community with the development high quality housing in places of high need. Emily is involved in the Housing Development Consortium of King County as the co-chair of the Tax Credit Affinity Group, and she is a co-chair of the Affordable and Workforce Housing product council with ULI Northwest. She attended the Master’s Degree Program in Urban Planning, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree, from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Team Responsibility | Aaron is an Account Executive in our Commercial Department, serving a broad range of clients in the real estate, development, construction, restaurant, and hospitality industries. As an account executive, he leads a multifaceted team of talented, experienced colleagues who collaborate to tailor insurance programs to meet each client’s unique risk management needs.

Background | Aaron joined Parker, Smith & Feek in 2022 after a 20-year career as a land use/real estate attorney, during which he served a broad client base of owners, developers, and property managers. His decades-long experience as a trusted advisor on all aspects of real property development, management, leasing, and litigation have provided him a unique and deep understanding of his clients’ challenges and needs. Aaron has extensive knowledge of real estate transactions, the development lifecycle, business considerations, litigation, and the risks associated with those activities.

Experience & Approach | Relying on his experiences as an attorney, Aaron works to understand the nuances of his clients’ businesses in order to best guide them through their risk management efforts. He uses a proactive approach to risk control, claims management, underwriter negotiations, emphasizing mitigation of risks present in construction and development operations through risk assessment and clear contracts.

Professional and Community Involvement | Aaron’s deeply held beliefs in serving others and teamwork led to his successful legal career and are the cornerstones of his approach to risk management. He also believes strongly in community involvement. He has served as board member and president of Bellevue United FC, and he volunteered on the City of Bellevue’s Planning Commission for over eight years. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and serves on the state committee as the private sector public-private partnership co-chair. Aaron is also a member of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Land Use, Sustainability & Housing (PLUSH) committee and the Building Industry Association of Washington’s (BIAW) Legal Committee. Aaron enjoys playing, coaching, and cheering for his kids in soccer.

Mike, who is based in Oregon, has over 20 years of experience in real estate finance and investments.

Mike started his career in 1998 managing several lending professionals at America One Finance before moving on to Wells Fargo. Mike closed thousands of real estate transactions, including projects of over $20 million. He also conducted speaking engagements on how to invest in real estate in San Francisco, providing lending and investment strategies for people across the United States.

In 2012, Mike started working on large commercial projects as well as multi-family, hotels, and single-family residences, where he played an integral role in raising capital.

Steven Madsen is the Founder and President of Madsen Realty, a fully integrated consulting, marketing, and sales firm. Madsen Realty works alongside developer clients on new construction and conversion projects in Seattle, Bellevue, and surrounding cities. Over the past 10 years Steven has been creating and executing marketing strategies, leading sales teams, and working on the floor representing properties to buyers. Over the years he has learned that anything is possible with precise focus, collaboration with the right people, and a little bit of hard work and perseverance. Steven has called the Pacific Northwest home for his entire life, and if he isn’t working you might find him playing Pickleball at Green Lake, reading at one of Kirkland’s waterfront parks, or picking up fresh produce at a farmers market.

Parker Nicholson is Senior Managing Director of Legacy’s Pacific Northwest office. In this role, Parker is responsible for sourcing ground up multifamily development opportunities within the greater Pacific Northwest, with a focus on site selection, underwriting, feasibility, entitlements, equity and debt sourcing, strategic operational planning, and asset management. Prior to joining Legacy, Parker began his career in commercial real estate working in multifamily construction lending for the Seattle office of Wells Fargo’s Commercial Real Estate Group.

Parker received his bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University where he doubled majored in finance and economics. Parker received his real estate development certificate from the University of Washington’s Runstad Real Estate program and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.

Carissa is committed to shaping the built environment through carefully orchestrating systems of people, movement, light, texture, history, biology, and technology. For over a decade her focus on mixed-use project design at GGLO has helped hone her sense for design opportunities that come with the densification of urban centers and reimagining underutilized sites.

Her work is specifically focused on walkable urban cores, transit adjacent development and the reinvention of retail centers toward their highest and best use. Since 2018 she has been engaged in the redevelopment of the Northgate Mall Station site and is currently focused on the delivery of the residential buildings associated with the project. Most recently she has been engaged in the design of several sites associated with the extension of link light rail in Seattle as well as the eastside extension into Bellevue and Redmond including the redevelopment of the Redmond Town Center site.

Additionally, she helps lead GGLO’s DEI efforts championing design equity in the development of both affordable and market rate projects.

Carissa lives in Ballard with her partner and 2 dogs.

As a principal in KTGY’s Oakland office, Jessica Musick is committed to high-quality innovative design. She joined KTGY in 2003 and has since developed a diverse portfolio. She plays an integral role in establishing the design vision and leading teams to carry projects through design approvals. Focusing on urban-infill mixed-use projects, she believes that architecture should be deeply rooted in the community where it sits, responsibly responding to client goals, community needs and the urban context.
