David M. Boitano brings 25 years of healthcare investment

experience. His capital allocation and underwriting are informed by

over $15 billion of real estate transactions, complemented by a

unique operating perspective gained as part of the senior leadership

for a national senior housing provider. He’s secured relationships

and invested across the healthcare spectrum including seniors

housing, long-term care and medical offices as both a REIT and

operating executive.

At Lument 1 Mr. Boitano is a Managing Director offering a broad array of debt and structured

products to senior housing and healthcare partners who seek flexible, innovative financing

solutions to their capital needs. Prior to Lument he was a Senior Investment Officer for a large

reit where he identified and initiated numerous transactions including the sponsor’s then largest

investment - a new relationship with a publicly traded operator secured via the acquisition of a

$187 million, 24 property portfolio. For another new client he facilitated a $59 million recap and

then more than quadrupled the relationship with follow-on acquisitions and the provision of a

development facility. A growing regional operator was aided by a creative takeout structure

which enabled the new customer to finance the construction of a $60 million campus. This

development was soon joined by additional investments, more than doubling the relationship.

Mr. Boitano’s capital formation efforts at Alterra Healthcare included over $1.5 billion of

mortgage originations and sale-leaseback financing. His healthcare experience began in 1994

as Chief Financial Officer for a regional assisted living provider where he led a recapitalization

and merger with Alterra (pre-IPO), then joined the fast-growing national operator’s management

team, participating in the initial and secondary public offerings and rising to Senior Vice

President of Finance & Acquisitions and Treasurer.

Mr. Boitano is active in several organizations and is a frequent industry speaker. He’s the

immediate past Chairman of the Finance Council for the Archdiocese of Seattle and also serves

on the Council’s Executive and Real Estate Subcommittees. He is a past board member for the

National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC), the California Assisted Living

Association (CALA) and Eclipse Senior Living.

His career began at Ernst & Young (audit) and includes a background in various transactional

advisory and corporate finance roles. Mr. Boitano earned his B.A. in Business Administration

summa cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University and he is a Certified Public Accountant

As Vice President of Development for Duke Realty, David is responsible for working with clients to determine the most e ective nancing, planning, design and construction methodologies for successful healthcare development projects. His expertise includes capital planning and asset design, along with extensive construction and development knowledge. He is dedicated to working closely with entities throughout the healthcare real estate sector, including hospital and health system management, general contractors, in-house project managers and leasing team members, government o cials and others to ensure that each project achieves the clients’ goals and meets or exceeds the industry’s highest quality standards.

David joined Duke Realty in 2016 after more than 20 years of experience in various aspects of commercial real estate, primarily focused on the healthcare sector. His most recent position was with Providence Health Systems as Regional Director of Real Estate and Construction. During his career, he also has worked as an associate vice president/principal, healthcare design studio leader, architect, project manager, and healthcare market sector leader at architecture rms and healthcare facility development companies.

Kyle Raschkow has been in the construction industry since 1996 and brings expertise in healthcare construction. After earning a dual degree in Construction Management and Business Administration from Washington State University, he built a diverse portfolio of projects including healthcare, critical environments, corporate office, and retail facilities. Kyle believes in a project-first mentality and team accountability that allows our clients to depend on us.

Mark Krejchi earned a Doctorate in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. After completing postdoctoral fellowships at California Institute of Technology and Stanford University, Mark took a position at Wilsonart LLC where he has played important roles in the design, development, and commercialization of innovative decorative surfacing solutions, both in the US and abroad. Mark holds several patents in areas that involve the materials and processes required to produce decorative surfacing products. He has expertise in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, genetic engineering, and polymer material science as well as commercial product development and business innovation. George Hurley leads DPR Construction’s Healthcare Core Market and has over 35 years of

experience in the engineering and construction of major healthcare projects. His extensive

background and technical expertise in project evaluation, financial management, scheduling,

and strategic planning has led to the successful execution of many large-scale projects. George

is passionate about executing projects utilizing integrated project delivery (IPD), incorporating

building information modeling (BIM) and Lean construction principles. Since joining DPR

Construction in 1997, he has helped change the way large projects are set up and executed.

Most recently, he served as Project Executive on Stanford Children’s Health Lucile Packard

Children’s Hospital Expansion.

George earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Montana State University and is

a U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Accredited Professional. George is a member of the

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Golden Gate Chapter, the American Society for

Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP).

Jorn E. Halle joined Degenkolb in 1991 after earning his Master of Science Degree from the

University of California, Berkeley. He has more than twenty years of experience designing complex healthcare environments in new and existing buildings. As Healthcare Practice Area Leader, Jorn manages a design and consulting practice that represents fifty percent of Degenkolb Engineers annual revenues. The practice focuses on helping clients align long-term facilities decisions with needs for high performing medical facilities.
