Michael brings over 13 years of experience in real estate development to his current

role as a Healthcare Specialist and Development Manager at Seneca Group. He

played a key role in the $500 million, 300,000 SF expansion of Seattle Children’s

Hospital’s Forest B, which included an inpatient pharmacy, operating rooms, sterile

processing, and a cancer/blood disorder clinic. Presently, he leads various

infrastructure and campus renewal projects for Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Prior to his tenure at Seneca Group, Michael held multiple positions within the

medical real estate sector. As a Regional Project Manager at Healthcare Realty, he

oversaw a project portfolio for various regional healthcare clients within the western

US. While with CBRE, Michael delivered project execution and strategic real estate

advisory services to healthcare systems nationwide. This included design and

completion of numerous in-patient and outpatient construction projects in the

south Puget Sound, with an emphasis on sterile compounding pharmacies and

oncology services.

Katrina Egner is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Sound. Katrina Egner is responsible for setting the strategic direction for Sound.

Egner joined Sound as an intern in 1997. During her two-and-a-half-decade career with the organization, she has served in a variety of roles, including as a crisis services coordinator, mental health specialist and a director overseeing numerous critical programs: crisis services, admissions, the transition support program, re-entry case management services, the housing voucher program, mental health and veterans’ courts, and Sound’s commercial insurance business line.

Most recently she served as executive vice president and chief programs officer, where she was integral in implementing Reaching Recovery, a measurement-based model of service that customizes clients’ care based on their evolving needs while on their path to recovery.

She continues to exemplify her comment and commitment,“I am honored to lead Sound’s team of compassionate, dedicated professionals as we evolve to meet the changing needs of our community,” said Egner. “Sound is providing innovative, integrated care that combines behavioral health, substance use disorder and primary care coordination to treat the whole person. Egner is a licensed mental health counselor and child mental health specialist. She has a BA degree in Psychology from the University of Washington, and an MA in Couples and Family Therapy from Antioch University.

John’s extensive experience includes leadership roles at CBRE, where he gained global expertise across multiple industry sectors, Terwilliger Plaza as the VP Operations for 1,000+ resident community and skilled nursing facility, and Oregon Health Sciences University, where he managed over 3 million square feet of complex academic and research facilities and infrastructure. His diverse background also encompasses manufacturing, product development, and hospitality, all of which inform his unique approach to real estate strategy. This breadth of experience is built on the foundation of being a noncommissioned officer in the US Army as a decorated combat medic and trauma nurse deployed to multiple combat zones. This enables John to deliver creative, people-first solutions that drive lasting business results.

Beyond his professional achievements, John enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest and traveling the globe with his wife, Dyann, savoring food and wine from around the world.

He is a licensed professional civil and structural engineer. He has worked for Nucor Corporation for 31 years, 20 of which in metal building systems, and 11 now with Vulcraft and Verco, the country's leading supplier of open-web steel joists, steel deck, and bar grating. He currently leads a nationwide innovation and market expansion team focused on solutions that address trends in the construction world and how we can build more economically, more efficiently, and more sustainably. Throughout his career, he has been active in several organizations, notably the MBMA, AISI, and the ASCE 7 Standards committees.
