A-P Hurd’s 25-year career spans real estate, finance, and technology. Her

experience leading a real estate company has made her a strong investment and risk manager. A-P is known for her ability to innovate in a highly regulated industry and think strategically about how public policy and technology are shaping her sector.

Since founding SkipStone in 2017, A-P has advised public, private, and non-

profit clients. SkipStone’s work is grounded in leadership of land use and development projects, taking sites through entitlements, financing, and construction. SkipStone’s work also extends to structuring and negotiating complex transactions at the intersection of public and private interests, such as negotiating a 30-year TOD development agreement between the City of San Jose and Google. A-P has also developed innovative capital structures for creating workforce housing without public subsidy, provided leadership on large scale light-rail infrastructure projects, and institutional campus master plans.

Prior to founding SkipStone, A-P worked at Touchstone—a leading developer in Puget Sound—from 2007 to 2017. There, she assembled a leadership team and executed a merger/transition that delivered a successful exit for the founders. In 2014 A-P became President and delivered nearly $2B of new buildings at top-of-market rents and sales prices, working closely with institutional capital partners. Under her leadership, the company earned several awards, including National Developer of the Year.

Prior to Touchstone, A-P’s career was focused on finance and operations. She worked for an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software provider, and her work there (as well as much of her graduate research) concentrated on complex systems architecture. She also traded interest rate derivatives for RBC, the largest Canadian bank.

A-P chairs the board of Low Tide Properties (a REIT with assets in the US and Canada) and is also an advisor to Pinnacle OZ, a national Opportunity Zone-focused investment fund. Past director/ board advisor roles include: OAC

Services (national project management firm), Blueline Group (engineering), tech companies including CityBldr, Optio3 and OneBuild. On these boards, she has experience as Audit Committee and NomGov committee chair.

A-P also serves on the board of the Pacific Real Estate Institute (Chair-elect), the Downtown Seattle Association (NomGov Committee), and the Community Development Roundtable (CDRT, past-Chair). She has served on many other non-profit and industry boards including the Seattle Chamber and Friends of Waterfront Seattle. From 2010-2019, A-P was a Runstad Fellow and taught a graduate course in the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington. She frequently speaks on economic and regulatory issues and in 2012, she published The Carbon-Efficient City with the University of Washington Press.

Erica has long been interested in the design of urban environments in ways that honor the natural resources on which our lives depend. For nearly a decade, Erica has dedicated her professional energy to advancing the use of mass timber. She began her journey as a sales representative for Structurlam, and went on to establish Swinerton’s mass timber division, which became Timberlab – a leading provider of holistic mass timber systems with a reputation for collaboration and innovation. As VP and Director of Preconstruction, Erica brought mass timber dreams to life, helping to deliver precedent-setting projects including Seattle’s Heartwood – a workforce housing project the first Type IV-C building permitted and constructed in the United States. Erica holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. She was named a DJC Oregon Women of Vision, and one of ThinkWood’s Leading Women Innovating in AEC and Beyond. She resides in Portland, Oregon with her amazing partner and sons.

William Silva is a seasoned construction veteran who manages all aspects of design, construction, and preconstruction management for Swinerton Builders. William has over 30 years of well-rounded experience, having worked in project development and self-perform heavy civil, concrete, and mass timber operations. He is a passionate advocate for mass timber buildings with a knack for finding efficient and eloquent solutions to project challenges, having applied those skills to successfully deliver numerous projects.

Ben Mickus is an award-winning architect and product designer, working concurrently in both disciplines. He has over 22 years of experience in cultural, educational and mixed-use architecture with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, SOM and WRNS Studio, where he is currently a partner. He was lead designer on The Juilliard School & Alice Tully Hall transformation at Lincoln Center in New York, Cabrillo-UCSC Student Housing, College of Arts at Cal State University

Monterey and the Elco Yards mixed-use neighborhood in Redwood City. His current research focuses on biophilic and multi-sensory design, and mass timber fabrication possibilities. His furniture designs are included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, and his lighting designs have been installed around the world. Ben

holds a Master of Architecture from UCLA and a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly. Ben currently lives in Alameda and is a father of two.

Have worked with some of the largest prefabricated housing companies in US. Currently expanding Stillwater Dwelling’s design and product offerings and geographical reach.

Bec combines their vision for creating the world we know is possible with their background in sustainability, prefab, technology, construction, and development. Bec loves building teams to generate and operationalize creative solutions to move away from scarcity paradigms, fossil fuels, and the housing shortage; towards sustainability, abundance and love.

Originally from the northeast, Bec moved to the West Coast to learn how to build green buildings. Quickly Bec joined a custom modular prefab company engaging with the promise and opportunity of prefab building. Bec earned an MBA in Sustainable Systems from Bainbridge Graduate Institute (Presidio Graduate School). From there, Bec helped companies and leaders build stronger, more effective teams before joining Don Bunnell as a founder of NODE, a construction technology start-up creating software enabled prefab components for fast, sustainable, and cost effective house assembly.

Chris Neufeld is DPR Construction's Northwest Prefabrication Leader. With a background in healthcare and life science project management, Chris partners with teams to implement innovative prefabrication strategies across of all DPR's commercial markets. Chris is passionate about using the principles of industrialized construction to streamline project delivery and ultimately create safer, more efficient, and more sustainable jobsites.

Tony brings over 30 years of diverse industry experience spanning Architecture, Business Development, Preconstruction, and Design-Build Delivery. He specializes in building durable collaborative partnerships with project stakeholders promoting the benefits of offsite modular prefabrication to optimize proforma cost predictability, accelerate construction schedules, address issues of sustainability in construction, and improve both safety and quality control as compared to traditional construction methods. Tony leverages this deep industry & technical knowledge to help project teams successfully navigate, evaluate, and adopt innovative, industrialized, and sustainable building systems.

Kristen Dotson is a dedicated sustainability professional with extensive experience in green building performance, building certifications, Scope 3 embodied carbon, mass timber, healthy materials, and sustainability implementation & process improvement. She is currently leveraging all of these skills and experiences for Amazon's Worldwide Sustainability organization as part of the Sustainable Buildings team.

Throughout her career, she has focused on supporting and catalyzing sustainability achievement in hundreds of building projects while driving organizational change in real estate portfolio delivery. She continues to be a technical consultant, certification bar raiser, carbon accountant, owner's representative, contractor trainer, and general troublemaker/catalyst for positive change everywhere she goes.

Victoria is the Outreach Specialist for the TallWood Design Institute, an interdisciplinary

research collaborative on the cutting edge of mass timber advancement. She holds dual

M.S. degrees in Sustainable Forest Management and Wood Science from Oregon State

University and maintains her designation as a Registered Professional Forester in

British Columbia, Canada. She is passionate about supporting innovative practices in

the mass timber and wood products supply chains and aims to communicate recent and

relevant research where it is most needed to bolster effective utilization and

management of forest resources.

Andrea Diedrich is an Associate Principal at ZGF Architects based in Portland, Oregon. Throughout her 12 years at the firm, her work has spanned aviation, mixed-use, hospitality, higher-education, laboratories, and civic and public buildings. Her Oregon-based, mass timber portfolio ranges from large-scale facilities like the Portland International Airport to community-centered projects including Latino Network’s La Plaza Esperanza and Sherwood Cabins at Camp Namanu. Her work with mass timber began with the Northwest 28th Warehouse and Great Notion Brewery and continues in her current role on the Oregon State University’s Jen-Hsun Huang and Lori Mills Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex project.

Across every project, she brings a collaborative, relationship-driven approach with clients, contractors, and consultants, which has made her an asset to teams of every size. She excels at navigating complex project demands while maintaining great attention to detail, designing buildings that are both deeply functional and inspiring for the communities they serve.

Craig is a nationally recognized design leader with a focus on innovative, sustainable integrated design and the incorporation of emerging building technologies including mass timber and modular construction. He leads interdisciplinary teams on highly complex projects that require a high degree of systems integration spanning multifamily housing, education, workplace, industrial and mixed-use projects. Craig also serves in a firmwide role, sharing knowledge across the practice and collaborating with teams on a wide range of project typologies for clients looking to explore the integration of new building technologies.

Prior to joining Mithun, Craig served as an executive-level leader at Katerra where he oversaw the development of building platforms for offsite construction and instigated the company’s significant investment into mass timber, including construction of North America’s largest CLT manufacturing plant. He has extensive experience with mass timber projects including development of the Katerra Mass Timber Commercial Office Platform and the Catalyst building (designed to ILFI zero energy and zero carbon certification standards). Recent and ongoing mass timber projects include undergraduate student housing at Oregon State University, confidential mass timber warehouse pilot project and an award-winning campus expansion for the Washington School for the Deaf.
