Bert is the Managing Director of Gensler Seattle who brings a wealth of technical expertise, strong client relationships, market presence, and a passion for growing others. As a Principal, Bert leads all of the practice areas across the Northwest Region, bringing strategic vision and technical excellence to design solutions. His portfolio spans sciences, tech, hospitality, professional services, and financial services sectors, where he consistently delivers innovative solutions for his clients. Distinguished for his comprehensive approach to project delivery, Bert strategically integrates end-of-project technical requirements and operational considerations from the earliest planning stages. This forward-thinking methodology ensures seamless transitions from design and construction to occupancy, with particular expertise to specialized environments with complex systems.

A registered architect in California, Washington, and Wisconsin, Bert earned his BA in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, is an active member of the AIA, IIDA, and CoreNet Global, and serves as a Committee Chair for DIFFA San Francisco, which raises money for the SF General Hospital Ward 86, providing services to people living with HIV/AIDS.

Loren is a senior designer with 17 years of experience leading projects ranging from large scale (stadia, corporate headquarters, cultural hubs) to small (wineries, retail, and restaurants). With a proven ability to create visionary architecture regardless of project type, site or budget constraints, Loren takes immense pride in delivering projects that transcend expectation. He is a registered architect in both New York and Washington State, and has an expansive portfolio of built work in both the US and abroad.

Dylan Draves

Design Director

Dylan, originally from San Antonio, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in interior design and worked for several years as an interior designer in Houston on corporate interiors. He left Texas to pursue his Master of Architecture first in Los Angeles and later in St. Louis and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. Dylan has been in the Seattle area since 2020 primarily focused on designing multifamily and mixed-use projects. Dylan joined American Capital Group in July 2023 as Design Director. He also teaches interior design at Seattle Pacific University. He enjoys traveling, baking, watching basketball, playing board games, and trying new restaurants.

With over 20 years of lighting design experience, Kevin is

recognized for his ability to craft thoughtful, innovative lighting

solutions that enhance architectural narratives while meeting

diverse functional needs. While primarily focused on the Seattle

and Pacific Northwest markets, Kevin’s expertise extends globally,

with a portfolio spanning a broad range of sectors, including

healthcare, life sciences, corporate, mixed-use, civic, and cultural.

Beyond his project work, Kevin contributes to the lighting design

community through teaching at the Puget Sound Section of the

Illuminating Engineering Society. His dedication and expertise

earned him the esteemed “40 Under 40” award in London in 2016,

underscoring his impact on the industry and commitment to

advancing the profession.

Through a collaborative process that magnifies empathy and imagination, she recognizes that how we work is just as important as where we work.

She is currently leveraging all of these skills and experiences for Amazon's Worldwide Sustainability organization as part of the Sustainable Buildings team.

Throughout her career, she has focused on supporting and catalyzing sustainability achievement in hundreds of building projects while driving organizational change in real estate portfolio delivery. She continues to be a technical consultant, certification bar raiser, carbon accountant, owner's representative, contractor trainer, and general troublemaker/catalyst for positive change everywhere she goes.

Rachael Meyer, Director of Sustainability and Landscape Architecture Principal at Weber Thompson, champions the firm’s commitment to sustainable urban development. Rachael has helped strengthen the integration of health and wellness, biophilia and stormwater management into the firm's projects. Her notable work includes the award-winning Aurora Bridge Bioswales and the innovative landscape design at Northlake Commons, showcasing her dedication to cleaning toxic runoff and enhancing green infrastructure.

An advocate for sustainable design, Rachael has shared her expertise as a speaker, author, and leader both within and outside the industry. Recognized for her contributions to innovative stormwater management in urban architecture and her passion for stakeholder facilitation, her role as Director of Sustainability underscores Weber Thompson’s enduring philosophy of integrating sustainable design into every facet of their work.

Kjell Anderson

Principal and Director of Sustainable Design

Kjell is LMN’s Director of Sustainable Design and leader of LMN’s Green Team, spearheading initiatives into energy modeling, materials + health, and water use reductions. With 20 years of experience, Kjell is well-regarded at local and national levels as a sustainability expert. He is a founding part of Seattle’s 2030 Roundtable, an inaugural member of AIA’s National Energy Leadership Group, and in other roles in setting practical and innovative directions for the profession. Kjell has contributed to the design of dozens of LEED New Construction projects, plus Pilot projects under USGBC’s Neighborhood Development and Commercial Interiors programs, including several Gold and Platinum-certified projects. He is the author of Design Energy Simulation for Architects, published by Routledge in 2014, and has guest taught Arch 533 (Advanced Environmental Systems) at the University of Washington. Kjell earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Washington State University.

Some of Kjell’s representative projects include the Hyatt Regency Seattle, Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion, and the Eastside Tech Tenant East Campus Modernization and RedWest South project.

Marieke Lacasse’s leadership in multidisciplinary practice and landscape architecture has created lasting impacts at both local and national scales. Her commitment to advancing sustainability and ecological principles in dense urban environments has shaped inherently social spaces that foster belonging and identity. Guided by a belief in collaboration and design equity, Marieke emphasizes co-creation to reflect the unique character, values, and needs of each community. She leads Climate Action initiatives and carbon drawdown strategies in her work and served on the ASLA Climate Action Committee for 3 years and volunteered for USGBC. She most recently lectured and presented on decarbonization design strategies and carbon accounting in landscapes, contributing to broader industry knowledge and practice.
