Loren is a senior designer with 17 years of experience leading projects ranging from large scale (stadia, corporate headquarters, cultural hubs) to small (wineries, retail, and restaurants). With a proven ability to create visionary architecture regardless of project type, site or budget constraints, Loren takes immense pride in delivering projects that transcend expectation. He is a registered architect in both New York and Washington State, and has an expansive portfolio of built work in both the US and abroad.

Every organization is unique. Kelly is convinced that their workplace should be too. With 30 years of leading corporate workplace projects as a designer and project manager, Kelly launched NBBJ’s Workplace Strategies Group in 2014. A thoughtful facilitator, Kelly is focused on building alignment across leadership teams and learning from the “everyday experts” in each organization to craft a complete workplace experience. Fascinated by what connects us as humans, Kelly uses social science methodologies to uncover what makes each organization tick and creates strategies to ensure everyone has a great day at work.

Rob is a licensed architect with over 26 years of building experience. His leadership over Hybrid ‘ s Design & Development Studio is built on fostering a collaborative environment bringing builders, designers, and developers together. Rob and Hybrid most recently received the 2019 AIA Award of Honor of their work in urban infill multi-family design, build, development.

Samir Mokashi is a Senior Director and Global Services Leader at Jensen Hughes, a global leader in building codes, fire protection, accessibility, and risk analysis. A successful entrepreneur and a renowned code expert, he is involved in development especially - adoption of Mass Timber and Sustainable Design strategies at local and national levels. Samir is highly regarded for his ability to develop safe and cost-effective solutions to complex design challenges. He is a sought-after speaker, accredited educator, a valued mentor to young professionals, and widely respected by building officials, developers, architects, and engineers.

As a Senior Director in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) operations group Samir brings a passion for problem-solving with an entrepreneurial perspective and inspirational leadership to expand our team in the PNW and western Canada. In 2023 Samir also became the Global Service line Leader (GSL) for code and performance-based design services across all regions. This is a unique role that will provide thought leadership and guide the philosophy of Jensen Hughes largest service line globally.

Samir has over 30 years’ experience in code regulations, and specialized expertise in the

development of alternates for new products such as mass timber. In 2015, Samir advised on the groundbreaking mass timber First Tech Credit Union Headquarters, an Engineering News Record finalist for Regional Project of the Year. Samir also served as a reviewer at the University of Oregon’s mass timber studios in 2015 and 2017. Since then, he has led

educational presentations on mass timber construction and code requirements for the AIA,

Woodworks and Halfmoon Educators, while supporting the early adoption of mass timber into Oregon state code, prior to ICC adoption. Samir has consulted on multiple award-winning projects such Oregon State University’s Forest Science Complex in 2017, The Sideyard Building in 2019, and most recently the Portland International Airport record-breaking mass timber canopy design.

President of Tournesol Siteworks, Christopher Lyon, purchased the company in 1994. Over 25 years later, he's thrilled Tournesol has grown into a leading manufacturer of commercial landscape products. Tournesol’s product line consists of pots & planters, site furnishings and container irrigation made in North America. Tournesol has locations in California, Washington and Mexico. In June 2023 Tournesol acquired Greenscreen – the leader in commercial trellis systems and green facades located in Southern California. Chris is a big believer in stakeholder capitalism, and as Tournesol has evolved, Chris has focused on developing manufacturing processes to use more sustainable materials, with the intent of improving Tournesol’s environmental stewardship. Chris is currently the Chair of the American Society of Landscape Architect's Corporate Member Committee (ASLA.org), representing the manufacturing trade members. He previously served as a judge for Green Roofs for Healthy Cities' annual awards. In his spare time, Chris loves to tinker with vintage cars.

An award-winning mechanical engineer, Tom's passion and expertise focus on delivering high

performance solutions to clients—solutions that are practical, maintainable, healthy, and resource-

responsible. An author of numerous published papers and frequent speaker, Tom focuses on integrated

systems design, delivery of best-in-class performance outcomes for buildings, low total cost of ownership,

SMART building strategies, and development of resilience-enhancing solutions. He is a recognized

pioneer in the design and advocacy of zero net energy buildings and building decarbonization. Tom

brings a diverse technical background that underpins his current high performance design focus and

helps foster the integrative thinking such work demands. Tom has experience building and leading multi-

disciplinary teams, both in the delivery of professional consulting services within the AEC industry and in

a related technology sector as part of a successful start-up. He has provided both project and program

management in high pressure complex, schedule driven environments.

Chad is a Design Principal and Gensler’s Global Health Sector Leader. He is one of a handful of design directors responsible for setting the standard of design excellence across the firm’s global organization. He believes that design is rooted in three simple ideas. First, design must be purposeful — it needs to work and work well. Second, places should be irresistible — drawing people in, making them smile, encouraging them to linger, and keeping them coming back. And third, design should tell a story — one that reflects the ambitions, values, and identity of the people for which it’s built. From future forward science buildings on fully amenitized mixed-use campuses to boutique hotels, wellness retreats, and creative offices, Chad’s work spans industries, scales, and continents. His portfolio ranges from 500-square-foot interventions to synergistic, multi-million-square-foot environments — all united by a belief that design isn’t just about form or function. It’s about impact.

John’s ability to integrate the unique characteristics of each project with its local culture and traditions results in responsive, innovative design solutions. Originally from Vietnam, John earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Architecture from Yale University. He first joined LMN in 1993, and his LMN experience in the ensuing years was punctuated by periods of working with other firms in Hong Kong and Seattle.

A leader in LMN’s urban mixed-use and higher education market sectors, John ‘s approach creates environments where buildings and public spaces mutually support and activate each other and seeks opportunities for transformation in every project. Some of John’s representative projects include Vancouver Convention Centre West; Hines Expedia Tower; Summit Office Tower III; Anteater Learning Pavilion at the University of California, Irvine; Interdisciplinary Science & Engineering Building at the University of California, Irvine; 800 Columbia Residential Tower; and Redmon Tech Campus.

Jooyeol is a visionary designer with over 20 years of experience developing thoughtful, community-centered environments. Each design he delivers adapts to the shifting lifestyle needs of evolving neighborhoods. Internationally recognized for award-winning buildings and master plans.

Jim Friesz co-founded Mutuus Studio in 2016. Jim leads civic and cultural projects with over two decades of experience working on award-winning projects including museums, college facilities, offices, multifamily mixed use and restaurants. He is passionate about working with the complex organization of civic, cultural and residential projects with people that value community. Jim’s architectural experience in institutional design and museums brings a depth of understanding of project leadership at any scale - blending building performance with harmonious design.

Growing up in Eastern Washington, Jim brings a vernacular and regional approach to the projects he designs. Jim is a licensed Architect in Washington and Montana and holds a degree in Architecture from Washington State University. Jim is a LEED AP's and is committed to embedding national sustainable standards and equitable practices into his work.

Like the other partners in Mutuus Studio, Jim comes from an artistic background and is a lifelong practicing musician, offering a different perspective to our creative design process. Jim has led the all-designer band (The Gray Band) since 2019 and completed an original song and video for the 2020 Gray Awards presentation.

Architect, artist, and Design Executive, Annette Jannotta has over 25 years of expertise collaborating with clients who are leaders in their industries and passionate about what they do. From Life Sciences, research, and higher education to hospitality and the arts, Annette helps her clients create places that invite people to thrive with ease. Through a collaborative process that magnifies empathy and imagination, she recognizes that how we work is just as important as where we work.

Annette’s award-winning projects weave together experiences, discoverable over time, that inspire engagement, ownership, and transformation of both the team working to create the space, as well as those able to use the final product. Annette is a licensed architect in California, an NCIDQ certified interior designer, LEED AP ID&C, and a member of IIDA.

Wayde Tardif is a multidimensional leader in the field of architecture and design, crafting solutions at a variety of scales for clients around the world for the past 39 years. He is currently the Senior Designer at FREIHEIT Architecture in Bellevue, WA. Wayde has focused on projects of scale, including Tall Building Design and Master Planning in the PNW for the past 8 years, and had previously led the design of projects in Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the UAE, & Oman, supporting clients with creative design solutions over a range of project types and genres - Hospitality, Commercial, Office, Retail, Cultural, Institutional and Academic, including more than 150 tall buildings.

In 2005 Wayde established the design firm POSIT Studio in Dubai, heading teams in the design of Retail-based Mixed-Use projects, in addition to Urban Design & Campus Master Planning. Prior to 2005, Wayde was the Project Director for the World Trade Center Residences in Dubai and was a Senior Designer for the winning design in the international competition for the $8+ Billion, Sands Integrated Resort, with Safdie Architects.

Wayde has taught design, practicum, theory, drawing, graphic design and photography classes at Wentworth Institute of Technology, the Boston Architectural College, the University of Tennessee, & Carleton University, and has been an invited critic at Yale, RISD, Northeastern, MIT, and Roger Williams College.

Troy’s practice is focused on construction law and complex commercial litigation. Troy assists clients of all sizes in all phases of case development. Inquisitive and diligent by nature, Troy takes the time to ask the right questions to truly get to know his clients and their goals. Troy completed his J.D. and M.B.A. simultaneously, giving him a unique perspective on the challenges facing businesses and the corporate legal landscape. He leverages this insight to give his clients sound legal advice that mitigates risk and is informed by business realities.

Troy often draws on his previous experience, having externed for Judge Robert J. Bryan in the U.S. District Court and worked in regulatory compliance, public records law, employment, and complex commercial litigation. He has also done research and contract review for a Seattle-based global asset manager.
