Professionally, he holds a BS in Electronics and Communication and is a 20-year veteran in high-tech, software engineering and entrepreneurial roles. As a forward thinker, he detected a market in the Silicon Valley for high density, residential developments tailored to fit the modern lifestyles of local urbanites. With a deep understanding of socio-economics he is in a unique position to cater to a dynamic, millennial housing market. In 2001, Sanjeev was inspired to begin buying and selling real estate, and by 2010 he broke ground on his first development project. His extensive portfolio of work includes developments in Sunnyvale, Menlo Park, Mountain View, Santa Clara, San Jose and Fremont. By leveraging his expertise in real estate, land development and construction, Sanjeev Acharya founded SiliconSage® Builders in 2011.

It’s important to Sanjeev to continue executing ideas, staying ahead of trends and making a lasting, positive impact on his community. Ken Lowney is the Founder and President of Lowney Architecture, a multidisciplinary practice offering architectural, interior, and master planning services. With locations in Oakland and Honolulu, the firm focuses its practice on residential, mixed-use, hospitality and retail projects. In his hometown of Oakland, Ken leads discussions about community development, affordable housing and off-site construction design methods while serving in leadership roles for the Modular Building Institute, SPUR, the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and the Oakland Land Use Committee. Lowney Architecture first made its mark with expertise in urban retail, specifically grocery store design. The firm is now also synonymous with the design and delivery of innovative, prefabricated projects, having designed over 6,000 modular units.

Alan de Castro serves as director of development for Greystar Development and Construction Services, and is responsible for the company’s projects in Northern California. Prior to joining Greystar in 2014, Alan worked for Carmel Partners, where he was involved in the acquisition, entitlement, design, and construction of mixed-use multifamily projects in Northern and Southern California. Active in the industry since 2005, he has also held positions within the real estate investment banking group of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, commercial real estate lending arm of CapitalSource, and Clark Construction. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Duke University; he is also a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Before joining the A’s, Tan was Senior Vice President and U.S. Head of Development at Bentall Kennedy, one of North America’s largest real estate investment advisors. During her tenure, the company invested in the development of more than $3 billion of mixed-use commercial, multi-family, and logistics projects throughout the U.S.

Tan has additional experience as Executive Vice President and Director of Northern California Operations at Related California, where she opened the office and built up a $2 billion pipeline of affordable and mixed income, mixed use developments throughout the Bay Area. Her work included successful partnerships with Oakland based non-profit EBALDC, the Oakland Housing Authority and Acts Full Gospel Church on community redevelopment projects in East Oakland.

She was also the Executive Vice President at BRIDGE Housing Corporation, where she led teams focused on all aspects of the development and financing of mixed income and affordable housing communities, as well as large scale redevelopment efforts throughout California, including Chestnut Linden, Mandela Gateway and Central Station in West Oakland, MacArthur BART, and St. Josephs in East Oakland. During her tenure at BRIDGE, she oversaw the development of $3.5 billion of affordable and mixed income housing, pedestrian-oriented commercial space, and community facilities.

Throughout her work and volunteer career, Tan has worked with nonprofits and local organizations to effect positive change focused on raising the quality of life and increasing opportunity in lower income communities. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the S.H. Cowell Foundation; SPUR; and Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco. She is a former longtime volunteer at EBALDC, serving on its Board of Directors and its Real Estate Committee. She is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, and the Stanford Real Estate Council. Tan and her husband are Resident Fellows at Stanford University, where they work to create an enriched residential experience for 270 undergraduate students.

Tan holds a BA in Architecture from University of California, Berkeley and a MBA from Stanford University. She is a Registered Architect in California.

Miles Garber

Miles Garber is the Vice President of Research at Polaris Pacific, the largest brokerage firm of new condominiums on the West Coast. At Polaris Pacific, he runs the research consulting division and oversees the Polaris Pacific Report, a monthly market intelligence report that tracks sales prices and absorption rates of new residential condominiums in San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego, Silicon Valley, Oakland/Emeryville and Los Angeles. Prior to joining Polaris Pacific, Miles was a research analyst at The Mark Company, a San Francisco-based brokerage firm, and with Market Profiles, a market research firm based in Southern California. An active member of Urban Land Institute (ULI), he serves the Steering Committee of its Young Leaders Group. He also volunteers with ULI’s Urban Plan, an interactive program that teaches high school students about real estate development. Miles attended the University of Redlands, where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. Degree in Global Business
