A native of Silicon Valley, Mark Calvano started his real estate career at Marcus and Millichap in 1986. Over the last 35 years, Calvano has been involved in the sale, leasing, and development of projects totaling over 1.8 million square feet of office, retail, and R&D projects valued at over one billion dollars.

Mark Calvano graduated from S.F.S.U. with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Calvano serves as a member of the Silicon Valley branch of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) and is a member of Bay Area Council.

John Eudy

Mr. Eudy is a founder and Senior Executive officer of Essex Property Trust, Inc., the proven West Coast leader in multifamily investment. Mr. Eudy oversees all development activities, from the point of acquisition through construction and stabilization. He joined Essex's predecessor, Essex Property Corporation, in 1985 and initiated the development activities of the company. During his tenure the company has developed over 15,000 multi-family units and is recognized as an industry leader. The financial performance of its development portfolio, through good cycles and bad, demonstrates a proven, disciplined approach to multifamily development. The company has also received national recognition and awards for Architectural Excellence, more than any multifamily developer in the country. Prior to joining Essex, Mr. Eudy was a Vice President in the Commercial Real Estate Investment Group of Crocker National Bank from 1980 to 1985, and Home Federal Savings from 1977 to 1980. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from San Diego State University in 1977, and is a graduate of the University of Southern California's Management Leadership School. Mr. Eudy is a member of the Urban Land Institute, National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and is a Board Member of the California Apartment Association.

Prior to joining SWENSON in 2013, Case managed his own construction company, Swenson Development & Construction (SDC) for over two

decades in the Bay Area. Throughout his career, Case has successfully managed the construction of all building types including residential,

commercial, educational, financial and multiple public works projects. As president of SWENSON, Case is responsible for the operations as well as project development and construction, real estate development, property management and accounting. He provides executive support throughout the life cycle of each project from contract negotiations, pre-construction planning and design with clients and project team to construction

feasibility, monitoring cost and schedule through the final stage of project completion. He graduated from the University of Colorado and is an active member of various community organizations such as the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, First Tee of San Jose and serves as chairman of the Metro A Trust. In 2017 Case proudly established the Swenson Foundation which supports underserved and at-risk youth in Santa Clara Valley. For over one hundred years, the Swenson family has been a dynamic partner in developing California. Case continues this four generation legacy as the SWENSON story grows backed by decades of resources and sound business practices.

Ron Brown

Ron Brown is the President and CEO of Brown Construction, Inc. one of the Sacramento area's largest general contracting firms building multifamily and commercial projects for over 60 years. Brown Construction has over 2.7 million square feet currently under construction across 12 active multi-unit housing projects in the Sacramento area including in Midtown, Downtown, The Railyards, Roseville, Natomas, South Sacramento, and Elk Grove. Brown is locally-founded and locally-owned here in Sacramento for over 60 years.

Ron established a Build It Forward program to build select community-serving projects at no profit. Beneficiaries include Yolo Food Bank, Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town, River Oak Center for Children, the City of West Sacramento, Davis High School, and the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation.

Ron is currently on the boards of directors for Region Business, the Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation, the Sacramento Host Committee, and Sacramento Construction Management Education Foundation (SCMEF) at Sacramento State. Ron recently served on the boards of WellSpace Health (13 years), Sacramento State University Alumni Association (8 years), and the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (3 years). For more than 21 years, Ron has led and mentored Sacramento State University student teams participating in the annual Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Construction Management competition.

Leonard Bertolami

Leonard has more than 20 years design build experience in mechanical contracting. Prior to joining UMI in early 2014, he served as Vice President in charge of the Northern California Project Group for an established west coast mechanical and plumbing contractor. Starting his career as a designer and project engineer gave Leonard the experience needed to support his successful years managing technical projects. His role as project manager grew to a regional management position responsible for training, recruiting, and executive oversight on a wide variety of projects. Leonard holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University - Minor in Technical Communications. He is a member of ASHRAE, DBIA, LCI, and Bay Area Council.

As a principal in KTGY’s Irvine office, Darin Schoolmeester brings over two decades of experience serving in various leadership roles overseeing and managing business development, design and technical teams, utilizing a management approach that values exploration, strong communication, clear objectives, efficiency and emphasis on quality. He leads design and technical teams from conceptualization through entitlement, delivery and construction administration.

Mr. Schoolmeester utilizes a process-driven approach to design for a wide variety of building typologies with a focus on multifamily and urban infill mixed-use developments. He aligns client goals, the design vision and community identity in order to create thriving neighborhoods.

Michael Van Every

Michael Van Every is the President and Managing Partner of Republic Urban Properties, the Bay Area flagship of the Republic Family of Companies. Mr. Van Every works with Federal, State, and Local governments on the creation and development of ‘smart growth’ projects, such as master-planned communities near transportation hubs; urban mixed-use projects near major employment centers; and innovative, public-private partnerships. The Republic Family of Companies is known for developing institutional-quality real estate throughout the United States, from land development, to historic adaptive reuse, to shopping malls.

In his 25 years of working experience representing major institutional and private real estate developers in the greater Bay Area, Van Every has earned the reputation as a man with the leadership, the knowledge, the experience, and tenacity to see complicated projects through from land acquisition to completion. Under Van Every’s leadership, RUP has gained national attention for its Transit Oriented Development (TOD) projects at key transit stations working as the premier public-private partner with many transit authorities across California.

Since 2006, as the managing partner of RUP, Van Every has been involved with the planning, financing, construction, and delivery of 1,238 multifamily units and 145,000 square feet of mixed-use commercial space. In addition to the multifamily pipeline, RUP has approximately 380 hotels rooms, 151,000 square feet of office, and 120,000 square feet of retail in various stages of development. The estimated market value among projects is projected at $1.5 billion in value.

A third-generation San Jose native, Van Every holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from California State University at Fresno. Van Every is an active member of San Jose Rotary Club as well as the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. He also serves as a Board Member on Santa Clara County Catholic Charities. Michael is married and lives with his wife Jennifer and Jacob in the Willow Glen Neighborhood of San Jose.
