Cyrus Sanandaji is the founder and managing principal of Presidio Bay Ventures, a commercial real estate investment and development firm focused on the design, construction and long-term operation of a diverse set of product types for private and public sector tenants across the United States.

Ken Lowney is the Founder and President of Lowney Architecture, a multidisciplinary practice offering architectural, interior, and master planning services. With locations in Oakland and Honolulu, the firm focuses its practice on residential, mixed-use, hospitality and retail projects. In his hometown of Oakland, Ken leads discussions about community development, affordable housing and off-site construction design methods while serving in leadership roles for the Modular Building Institute, SPUR, the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and the Oakland Land Use Committee. Lowney Architecture first made its mark with expertise in urban retail, specifically grocery store design. The firm is now also synonymous with the design and delivery of innovative, prefabricated projects, having designed over 6,000 modular units.

Jeff Wilcox is a Principal in Gantry’s San Francisco office. Since joining the firm as an Associate in 2007, Jeff has risen within the firm to become one of the youngest Principals in Gantry history. He has consistently been a top producer within the firm, closing $2B in transactions in the past three years. Working directly with numerous insurance companies, banks, Wall Street conduits, and other financial institutions, Jeff consistently delivers the best strategic financing solutions for his clients. Before joining Gantry, he held a Senior Project Manager position with a San Francisco based development firm. He was responsible for over fifty employees and numerous large scale commercial projects. His development background has made him a construction financing and feasibility expert.

As the President for CORE Builders, Chrissie Davis oversees all projects currently under construction and works closely with clients in preconstruction. She prides herself in leading the CORE team to provide quality products and services to all clients. Chrissie has helped grow CORE Builders into a company with $100M annual revenue, building projects for third party clients and in-house.

Chrissie Davis has been building in Southern and Northern California since 2000. She has a Civil Engineering Degree from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s Degree in Construction Engineering Management from Stanford. She started her career working for commercial builders, but found a home in multi-family construction mostly in the South Bay. Chrissie is a LEED AP and has a passion for giving back to the community. She spent a year dedicating herself to community service in AmeriCorps*NCCC stationed in Washington D.C.

Rob Perkins leads TDA’s Real Estate lending and equity investments, across an $800 million portfolio. He engages with TDA's Pension Trust client accounts, in addition to being actively involved in the firm’s new and existing investments. Rob has experience across multiple real estate and corporate investment sectors. He has worked for both small private equity groups to the largest privately held company in the U.S. Originally from the East Coast, Rob has degrees from Penn State and Texas A&M University

Walter Simon is the Vice President of Strategy and Development at Halio, bringing over 20 years of

experience in areas such as Engineering, Sustainability, Strategic Initiatives, Sales, and Property Tech.

He holds a BSEE from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and has completed the Wharton School of

Shola is an experienced nonprofit executive with expertise in affordable housing, real estate, and public administration. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Eden Housing, managing the daily operations of a nearly 600-person, $50 million statewide nonprofit. Previously, Shola was the Director of Housing and Community Development for the City of Oakland, leading a team of 70+ people and overseeing over $100 million in housing capital. Under her leadership, Oakland's City Council approved a Strategic Action Plan to expand affordable housing and supported a $350 million housing bond in November 2022.

Before moving to California in 2020, Shola held executive roles in New York City at Suffolk Construction, Enterprise Community Partners, HSBC Bank, and HR&A Advisors. In 2014, she was appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio as CEO of the New York City Housing Authority, managing an $11 billion, 10-year development plan, a $3 billion annual budget, and 11,000 employees. Shola is currently Vice Chair of the Northern California Housing Association (NPH), a fellow at the Terner Center for Housing Innovation at UC Berkeley, a member of Chief, and a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She holds a B.A. in History and African American Studies from Wesleyan University and a master's in Public Administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.

HAC’s Executive Director since November 2016, Todd has been active in Bay Area politics throughout his professional career. His campaign experience includes serving as political director for Scott Wiener’s first successful California State Senate campaign (2016), campaign manager for the Recreation and Park funding measure (2016), and campaign manager for the Soda Tax (2014). A public school parent of three, Todd is an avid community volunteer and weekend pickleball player.

Travis is fascinated by the purposeful creativity required to produce successful architecture. He believes projects of every size and scale provide opportunities for unique solutions to address any design challenge. Viewing the architecture process as a puzzle, Travis enjoys a collaborative design approach and continually seeks out opportunities for learning and growth.

Miguel Guzman is a San Francisco Bay Area native and with 30 years of industry experience. Miguel

founded Guzman Construction Group in 2015 with the goal of making client satisfaction the number one

priority and has structured the company around that goal - Client driven not profit driven.

Miguel’s experience spans many market segments, including both affordable and market rate housing,

education, cultural and community improvements and healthcare.

Miguel Guzman is a graduate of the University of California, at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in

Engineering. He is a LEED accredited professional and participated in the San Francisco Chamber of

Commerce Leadership Program. Miguel is also a member of SEAONC, SPUR and Cal Alumni Society.

Jim has degrees in both Civil Engineering and Architecture. Before founding Stack Modular, he led the construction of over $1 billion US worth of commercial office towers, high-end condominiums, and university buildings.

Jim’s extensive education, leadership experience as a Professional Engineer, penchant for global travel, and desire to deliver modular buildings globally, led him to Shanghai, China. Here, Jim produced one of the first Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprises owned solely by a Canadian.

As President and Founder of Stack Modular, he hired architects, engineers, and project managers from Canada, the USA, and China to oversee design and construction, as well as product delivery to the rest of the world.

Jim has led Stack to win awards, innovate, use advanced technologies, simplify processes to enhance production speed, focus on safety, create experts in a range of functional areas, and significantly shift paradigms in the construction industry regarding modular

Kanan is passionate about creating affordable housing for all. She is an experienced real estate professional, who has worked with top-tier banks and firms such as Citibank, PNC, and The Richman Group to structure and finance affordable housing projects. She is also a trained architect and urban designer with several years of experience in designing multi-family housing developments. Kanan founded Builders Patch in April 2017.

Builders Patch is a secure online platform for affordable housing finance. It brings together all sides of the transaction for data-driven underwriting, closing, and reporting. Builders Patch is creating an ecosystem for housing developers, housing agencies, and financing institutions. It brings accuracy, and transparency and creates a single source of truth for all housing.

Kanan holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and has a B.Arch. from the University of Mumbai. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional. She lives in New York with her husband and two children.

Dr. Ted Egan is the Chief Economist of the City and County of San Francisco, and directs the Office of Economic Analysis in the City Controller’s Office. The office prepares independent economic analysis of major new city legislation.

Since he joined in 2007, his office has published over 100 economic impact reports on policy issues like the minimum wage, affordable housing, business taxes, land use planning, sporting events, and short-term rentals. During this time at the City, he has served as an expert witness on the economics of same-sex marriage, and won a Good Government award for his work redesigning the City’s business tax. He currently serves on the Data Users Advisory Committee of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Before joining the City, he spent ten years working for ICF International, managing economic development strategy projects across North America, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. He received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, and lectured in the Economics and City Planning departments at Berkeley for more than ten years.

Jesse Arreguín is an American politician serving as mayor of Berkeley, California. He served on the Berkeley Housing Commission and Rent Stabilization Board from 2004 to 2009 and represented District 4 on the Berkeley City Council from 2009 to 2016. He is the first Latino elected Berkeley's mayor and one of the youngest mayors in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mayor Arreguin is the president of the Association of Bay Area Governments, the Bay Area's regional planning agency.

Arreguín has described himself as an "unapologetic progressive" and said he wants to "restore Berkeley to the forefront of progressive leadership on the environment and social justice."

Patrick Kennedy is the owner of Panoramic Interests, a development firm that has been building housing, live-work space, and commercial property in the Bay Area since 1990. The firm has focused on dense, mixed-use, mixed-income, infill developments, typically financed with private funds. All of the multi-family housing projects include below market rate units. The firm’s projects incorporate the Smart Growth principles designed to discourage auto use, mitigate sprawl, encourage local business, and enhance the pedestrian streetscape. Mr. Kennedy grew up in the East Bay, and attended Claremont McKenna College, majoring in Economics and English. He is a former member of the Carpenters Union and Steelworkers Union, and the California Bar. After college, he worked as a contractor, and then attended Harvard Law School and MIT, graduating with a J.D. and a Masters in Real Estate Development. Early development work included building his own house, and renovating several small commercial properties. His hobbies include open water swimming and ultra-light backpacking, both of which have furnished surprising insights into his work in development.

Mr. MacDonald is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), SPUR, and the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC), and he has been a featured speaker at numerous local and regional real estate industry events, including the San Francisco ULI Residential Local Product Council, the Fisher Center Annual Real Estate & Economics Symposium, the Marcus & Millichap Multifamily Forum and the Bisnow Residential Summit.

Mr. MacDonald received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering with Distinction from Stanford University in 1993 and a Master of Science in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2007. Mr. MacDonald is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi honor societies.

As Chargie’s Vice President, David is responsible for driving growth of the company’s EV charging network through the leadership and mentorship of a national sales team. He also oversees long-term partnerships with some of the largest multifamily and commercial real estate developers in the country. David brings nearly 20 years of experience in operations and management. Before joining Chargie, David led business development efforts at PCS Energy, the largest installer of commercial solar systems in Los Angeles. He also served as a founding partner of Nexcut, a leading provider of document destruction and recycling services. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University.

Kyle Kriete is a Deputy Program Manager focused on implementing the statewide new construction California Energy Design Assistance (CEDA) program as well as the PG&E Government and K-12 retrofit program. He works with design teams to promote electrification and decarbonization in new construction and retrofitting existing municipalities and school districts to help meet California’s energy goals. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from Pepperdine.

Sean McMurray founded ALVA Lighting in 2009 in Berkeley, California, with the goal of accelerating the adoption of LED lighting by developing high-performance decorative light fixtures for the commercial market. ALVA’s award-winning light fixtures can be found in multi-family, senior living, and healthcare properties across North America. Sean combines his passion for lighting with his experience in electronics, developing products from the ground up to meet the needs of property owners including ADA compliant sconces with integrated door number and braille with a standard 10 year warranty. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Sean acquired his passion for design while attending the Università Ca’ Foscari in Venice, Italy.

With over ten years of business development experience with a focus in the life sciences market, Jackie has helped dozens of organizations expand into new markets and reach new targets.
