Since 2012, Brig Black has served as Executive Vice President – Southern California for Lincoln Property Company Commercial, Inc. Mr. Black’s primary responsibility is to oversee, manage and grow the San Diego regional office of the company. In this capacity, Mr. Black serves as primary point for all of the company’s regional activities, including the acquisition, disposition, financing, asset and property management, and leasing.

Prior to Lincoln, Mr. Black served as Director of Leasing, Senior Vice President and a Principal of The Shidler Group during his 12 year tenure. The Shidler Group was a highly successful institutional joint-venture platform focused on acquiring opportunistic and value-added commercial real estate in partnership with institutional co-investors.

During Mr. Black’s 22 year career, he has negotiated and structured hundreds of commercial real estate acquisition, disposition and lease transactions in the office, R&D, life science and retail product types worth hundreds of millions in consideration. An active participant in NAIOP, Mr. Black served on the San Diego Board of Directors for nine years and served as its 2012 San Diego Board President. Mr. Black holds a B.A in Finance from the University of Utah, and a Masters of Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Sara Andersen is Director of Real Estate Management, part of Workplace Effectiveness at Genentech, the organization responsible for ensuring the work environments support desired business outcomes for the business units at Genentech’s South San Francisco site and beyond.

Sara’s role at Genentech allows her to exercise her passion for providing healthy, sustainable, financially performing environments which allow people to do their best work. As a Real Estate and Financial services professional with more than 25 years of experience, she has focused on setting overall business strategy for her group, running business units, building relationships and developing cross functional teams.

Her engagement with Genentech began in 2012, through design (Perkins + Will) and program management (CBRE), which resulted in Genentech’s most successful building to date. Prior to joining Genentech as an employee, she led the CBRE Occupier Strategy team in San Francisco, translating client business objectives into real estate strategy, informing lease sizes, terms and execution. She led vision sessions with senior executives to align goals across business units, spearheaded the development of solution scenarios with client and brokerage partners and ensured successful project delivery through strategic planning, design process, budget and schedule management, and the integration of IT, HR and communications.

Prior to CBRE, Sara held positions as a Principal, Director of West Coast Interiors for Perkins + Will; Managing Director (Atlas Capital Strategies); and ran her own project management practice with clients such as SAP Labs and TD Waterhouse.

Sara is educated and licensed as an architect, her education includes a Masters in Architecture from Washington University with an undergraduate degree from Lehigh University in Architecture and Computer Science. She was honored as a Northern California Real Estate Woman of Influence by the San Francisco Business Times and has spoken at both CoreNet and NeoCon.

Julie Robinson is Senior Vice President, Investments for Ventas, Inc., an S&P 500 company and real estate investment trust that owns approximately 1,200 healthcare, life science and senior living properties in North America and the United Kingdom, and serves as the primary capital partner to leading healthcare providers and research institutions.

As a member of the Ventas senior leadership team, Robinson leads the team responsible for the risk assessment, diligence, negotiation and execution of all the firm’s investments, including real estate acquisitions, ground-up developments, joint venture investments and loans in the U.S. and internationally. Under Robinson’s leadership, Ventas has closed in excess of $15 billion in transactions including transformative investments in the Hospital (Ardent Health Services) and Research & Innovation (Wexford Science & Technology) sectors as well as trophy developments in outpatient medical, senior living and research & innovation. With an emphasis on optimizing business operations and improving performance, Robinson also plays an important role in evaluating and reviewing investment opportunities being presented to the Ventas Management Capital Committee.

An accomplished business leader with more than 20 years’ experience in acquisitions, deal structuring, corporate finance, management consulting and process improvement, Robinson joined Ventas in 2012 following a successful career at General Electric (GE). During her GE tenure, Robinson played a lead role in the underwriting, due diligence and negotiation of debt financing for the seniors housing and skilled nursing industry at GE Healthcare Financial Services, and led GE’s strategic initiatives across a variety of industries, including the acquisition of a software company serving the utilities industry and the IPO of Genworth Financial.

Robinson is a member of the Kellogg Real Estate Advisory Council whose mission is to enhance the Northwestern Business School’s impact on the field of real estate through efforts to support quality teaching, research, and curriculum development; to promote student recruitment and placement; and to advance relations with alumni and other leaders in the real estate industry. She also founded the Ventas Women’s Network, an employee resource group dedicated to the success and engagement of women at Ventas through professional development, career management and mentoring.

Robinson received her B.S. in Finance from Miami University and her M.B.A. from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. She is married with one son.

Doug’s goal is to help entrepreneurial scientists create successful startups. To this end, Doug and his colleagues have systematically lowered the barriers between great ideas and successful companies. For instance, Doug created and manages MBC BioLabs. This state-of-the-art co-working laboratory network in San Francisco and San Carlos allows entrepreneurs to rapidly generate data without getting bogged down in facility management. Rather than spending months getting a facility up and running, MBC BioLabs startups can generate important data in their first week.

In the first 8 years, this program has helped launch 245 companies that have brought 55 programs to the clinic and have raised over $10.5B. This incubator program reflects Doug’s passion for startups and his eagerness to help entrepreneurs overcome challenges.

Doug is also a Managing Partner at Mission BioCapital, which provides early-stage capital to the next generation of awesome life science entrepreneurs. Founded in 2009, Mission BioCapital is now investing out of their fifth fund.

Becka represents P3RE as the Leasing Manager for our entire Bay Area life science portfolio. Her 10 years of experience within the real estate industry has equipped her with exceptional knowledge of negotiation, marketing implementation and management skills for these Class A assets.

The dexterity of her negotiation skills sustains the sophistication of GENESIS while providing tenants with Class A service. Her robust background in marketing allows for strong implementation in optimizing, maintaining, and monitoring the marketing efforts with the re-purposed vision of GENESIS to the Life Science community. In addition, Becka facilitates management across the project while being the main liaison to ensure productivity, leasing operations, implementing policies and standards.

Becka completed her Bachelors of Arts in Communications at California State University of San Marcos. She also holds her California Real Estate License.

Senior associate working with MBH Architects since 2007, Kevin Koblik has a versatile skill set gained on a variety of project types including laboratories, large scale multi-family housing projects, and commercial workspace renovations and designs. Notably, Kevin has been instrumental in the growth of MBH’s research and development project portfolio, spearheading MBH’s efforts designing life science lab spaces across the San Francisco Bay Area. Recently, Kevin completed a 30,000 square foot coworking lab space for MBC BioLabs in San Carlos, which opened as an essential business in Summer 2020. The project will become part of a larger energy efficient lab campus when an adjacent ground up laboratory project, also designed and executed by MBH, is complete. Currently, Kevin is managing Bakar BioEnginuity Hub, the conversion of the former Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive into life science laboratories. He has presented the technical design challenges of this unique project at multiple architectural conferences and AIA events. In addition to his laboratory work, Kevin played a key role in overseeing the renovation of Oakland’s famed Capwell’s department store into Uptown Station, a mixed use building now home to a major tech company. Kevin’s capacity to adapt to all types of projects and handle challenges that are thrown his way while remaining practical and level-headed makes him an asset to his team and projects. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.

Evan serves as Managing Director for Longfellow’s San Francisco Bay Area office. He is responsible for strategic growth and operations including oversight of acquisitions, development, property management, design and construction, asset management and leasing across properties in Northern California. Prior to Longfellow, Evan managed the San Francisco office of The John Buck Company with responsibilities for West Coast investment and development in office and residential totalling over $1.8 billion. He also led office acquisition and development activities for the Irvine Company’s Northern California region.

Caroline Guibert Chase practices real estate, development, and land use law, with an emphasis on representing real estate developers in the entitlement of residential, commercial, and institutional development projects. Caroline has a unique multidisciplinary background including architecture, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) consulting, urban planning, and zoning enforcement. She has excelled at helping clients navigate the complex local and state entitlement processes throughout the Bay Area.

Caroline has extensive experience with CEQA and has been involved in every step of the preparation of various CEQA documents, including the review of technical studies and the preparation of Environmental Impact Report (EIR)-required project objectives and alternatives. She is particularly well-versed in local and state historic resource issues, which often complicate the CEQA review process by triggering the need for an EIR.

Caroline’s involvement and passion for her practice are also evident outside of the firm. Caroline is on the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC) Board and Chair of the SFHAC Legislative Committee. Ramsey Daya joined Newmark in 2017 as a Vice Chairman and heads the Debt and

Structured Finance team in Northern California and Pacific Northwest. Over the past 12

months, Ramsey and his team have closed approximately $900,000,000 in life science

debt placements across 10 transactions throughout the Bay Area.

Prior to joining Newmark, Ramsey had co-founded Regency Capital Partners in 2006,

which he helped grow into the leading independent mortgage brokerage firm in

Northern California. The firm specialized in complex structured debt and equity for all

product types with a primary focus in Northern California. Prior to merging with

Newmark, the firm was averaging over $800 million of debt placement per year.

Prior to founding Regency, Ramsey was a vice president at Cohen Financial, a

nationally recognized mortgage banking firm, and before that he worked in finance at

Applied Materials. He began his professional career at Silicon Valley Bank.

Kirk has 35 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1995 he founded Woodstock Development Inc. Prior to founding Woodstock Development, Kirk was a vice president of Coldwell Banker Commercial (now CBRE). Kirk oversees all of the company’s operations including Corporate Services, Acquisitions and Development, Property Management and Asset Management. Kirk is a graduate of Santa Clara University and he is the former Chair of the Board of Regents and a Trustee. Kirk is a past Director of Borel Private Bank & Trust where he chaired the Director’s Loan Committee. Kirk is also past Board Chair of Peninsula Family Service in San Mateo and remains on their Board as an Honorary Life member.

Kirk was born and raised in San Francisco and attended St Ignatius Prep. He currently resides in Hillsborough (suburb of San Francisco) with his wife. They have 5 grown children.

Mike Futrell began serving as City Manager of South San Francisco, California, in April 2014, bringing broad executive experience in local, state and federal government. He was Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; served on staff in the United States Senate; and was an elected member of the Louisiana House of Representatives and of the Baton Rouge City Council. He served as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy and rose to the rank of Navy Captain in the Navy Reserves. He previously practiced law with a private firm and was Executive Vice President of a public utility company in Hawaii.

Mike holds a bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration and a Juris Doctorate degree from Louisiana State University, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business Learn-Engage-Accelerate-Disrupt (LEAD) Certificate program in Corporate Innovation.

Todd Ahern, Chief Estimator, is recognized as an industry leader in preconstruction, providing best-in-class estimating services on the region’s most complex construction projects. Todd has nearly two decades of experience executing successful bid strategies and running high performance estimating teams. Truebeck Construction is an industry-leading, full-service general contractor specializing in commercial, healthcare, life science, mission critical, education and interiors projects. With offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland, Truebeck is licensed in California, Oregon, and Washington.

Rob is an architect and Principal with HOK, based in the San Francisco studio. As Regional Leader of Science and Technology, Rob oversees projects between San Francisco and Seattle in the private and public sector, ranging from tenant improvements to new ground-up speculative and build-to-suit R&D buildings to multi-acre corporate campuses. Clients include biotech and technology companies at every stage of growth from early venture-backed to multi-national Fortune 500s, as well as globally recognized academic research universities. Monique Salas, MPP, is the North American Director of Health & Wellness at SageGlass. In her role, she focuses on the impact Saint-Gobain SageGlass bears in Healthcare spaces. She has a rich history in the Pharmaceutical Industry and Healthcare Tech space. Monique is passionate about design that incorporates health & wellness as she has a strong belief that it uman performance. As Executive Director of Biocom’s South San Francisco office, Michelle is responsible for building the framework for enabling the creation of a strong, well-connected life science community in the Bay Area. Joe is a founder of srmErnst and has over 20-years of real estate experience in development, investment, asset management and finance. Joe joined SRM Associates in 1999 and was the principal in charge of all new development since 2005.

Prior to SRM, Joe was a Vice President in Structured Finance with Norwest Bank Minneapolis (prior to acquisition of Wells Fargo) structuring private mortgage and asset-backed securities transactions. Joe was also a Vice President with Cargill Financial Services focused on developing a conduit for acquisition and securitization of subprime residential mortgages, and a Vice President with Piper Jaffray as a structured finance analyst involved in the acquisition, restructuring and fund management of a $1 billion portfolio of distressed residential loans and under-performing CMBS deals.

Joe graduated magna cum laude from the University of Saint Thomas receiving his B.A. in Finance and Computer Science. He is a Portfolio Advisor with Inner City Advisors, an Oakland based non-profit small business and jobs advocacy group.

Peter is a member of a Transwestern team that assists clients in every stage of the

Danielle M. McGuire AIA, DBIA is the Science Practice Director at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, overseeing the firm’s diverse global portfolio of science and engineering projects. Danielle grew-up thinking she was destined for a career in the sciences and the only question was scale - studying gluons or hot jupiters. While at University, Danielle became fascinated with how the built environment tells the story of the people for whom the buildings were created and how in turn those buildings affect those people's lives.

Prior to joining Ideal team at the start of 2021, Chris previously held leadership roles in K-12 education organizations, most recently as the COO at Galileo Learning.
