John D. Stobo, M.D., executive vice president of UC Health, joined UC in October 2008. In this role he is responsible for systemwide coordination and communication among UC’s health sciences schools and medical centers (collectively referred to as UC Health). He is responsible for policy development for UC’s health system, and develops mechanisms for monitoring performance for the system’s 17 health sciences schools and 10 hospitals on seven campuses. He also oversees strategic planning and advocacy efforts as well as the development of systemwide initiatives for UC Health.

Stobo has more than 40 years of leadership experience in the clinical and academic health science fields. Prior to his current position, Stobo served as president at the University of Texas Medical (UTMB) branch from 1997 to 2007. Prior to his services at UTMB, Stobo was the William Osler Professor of Medicine and Physician-in-Chief of the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as chief medical resident on the Osler Medical Service during his training. From 1976 to 1985, Stobo served as head of the Section of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the University of California, San Francisco, where he was also an investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Stobo has held leadership positions in a wide variety of national professional organizations, including the American Association of Professors of Medicine, the American College of Rheumatology, the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine, where he was also a member of the IOM Council. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the California Healthcare Institute (CHI). Stobo was one of the five inaugural members inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. In 1996, Stobo received a mastership from the American College of Physicians for his distinguished contributions to internal medicine. Stobo earned his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., and his M.D. from the State University of New York in Buffalo, N.Y.

Dr. Vitka Eisen is the President and Chief Executive Officer of HealthRIGHT 360, a network of Federally Qualified Health Centers and one of the largest providers of behavioral health services to marginalized Californians. With over 30 years of experience in human services, Dr. Eisen has dedicated her career to supporting people and communities struggling with addiction and incarceration through the provision of integrated, compassionate, and relevant care. Since being appointed to her current role in 2010, Dr. Eisen has led HealthRIGHT 360 through a series of mergers, growing the organization to serve over 36,000 people annually.

A frequent speaker on innovative clinical and business practices, Dr. Eisen serves on the boards of directors of the National Council for Behavioral Health, the California Association of Drug and Alcohol Program Executives, and the California Council of Community Behavioral Health Agencies. Dr. Eisen earned an M.S.W. from San Francisco State University, and a Doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is a person in long term recovery from substance use disorder; having participated in treatment over 30 years ago at the agency she now leads.

Ben leads strategy engagements with national governments, providers and the biotech community. For most of the last decade, he worked across Asia helping to address market access, technology incubation strategies, and regulatory reform for healthcare providers, pharma and medtech companies. He is a Senior Associate for International Health at the think tank NBR, where he works on questions around healthcare policy and innovation.

Michael Orr is the Managing Principal of HDR San Francisco where he oversees day-to-day operations and the strategic direction of the practice. His diverse background includes practicing as a healthcare architect and management consultant.

Paul Coleman was the Deputy Division Chief, Southern California, for more than

thirteen years prior to his appointment in February, 2009 as the Deputy Director of the

Facilities Development Division (FDD) of the Office of Statewide Health Planning and

Development (OSHPD). Paul was an Area Compliance Officer for more than five years

and was promoted to Regional Compliance Officer before becoming the FDD-LA office

manager. Before joining FDD, he was the Vice President of an architectural and urban

planning firm and had also been the staff architect for a southern California hospital.

Paul is a licensed Architect and a licensed General Contractor.

Denise Brown, MD, is Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Development for Vituity. Prior to these appointments in 2017, she served Vituity as Vice President of Practice Development and Hospitalist Medical Director at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, Calif.

Dr. Brown is one of the drivers behind Vituity's expansion as an integrated multispecialty organization. She has seen firsthand the positive impacts of integration on the patient experience and on the day-to-day work environment of providers. By combining her grasp of Vituity culture and her real-world insights, she inspires and empowers others to champion the integrated and team-based focused care needed by hospitals today.

Dr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago, with election to Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Brown completed her internal medicine residency at Stanford University and has been with Vituity since 2002.

Mr. Leonard, who holds and AB from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School, has been actively involved in commercial real estate since 1987, and has owned Bayside Realty Partners since 2002. Formerly head of Trammell Crow Company’s Northern California division, he has been responsible for overseeing a 5 million sf portfolio, a team of 55 professionals and has acquired and developed over $100 million in office/R&D properties.

Having completed transactions totaling over $925 million in leases, acquisitions, dispositions, development and financings, Mr. Leonard provides an extensive level of transactional and management experience, particularly with healthcare properties.

Our community has come together to witness the installation of new officers for one of our community’s most relevant and significant resources for the expanding older adults in our community—the Jewish Home of San Francisco. I want to acknowledge that, although the times we live in are incredibly complex, stressful and demanding, our board has met the healthcare industry challenges, and led our exciting plans for the Home’s future – both on and off this campus – with fortitude, commitment, wisdom and passion, and all within the context of a “Jewish” heart and soul.

And they have done so under the stellar leadership, wisdom, and guidance of our outgoing board chair, Rick Baum. We are here to honor the completion of Rick’s term and to usher in the chairmanship of Howard Fine. Thank you all for joining us in being a meaningful part of this transition.

Mr. Jobe received his JD and MBA degrees from the University of Southern California, where he served on Law Review. He earned his undergraduate degree from Loma Linda University. He is licensed to practice in California and Oregon.

Prior to becoming General Counsel for Adventist Health, Mr. Jobe was in private practice, specializing in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate. He also counseled clients in the areas of nonprofit organizations and closely-held entities (corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies). Early in his career, Mr. Jobe was in-house real estate counsel at Federated Department Stores (now Macy’s).

As General Counsel for Adventist Health, Mr. Jobe oversees the legal activities for a faith-based, nonprofit integrated health system serving more than 80 communities on the West Coast and Hawaii.

Growing up on a ranch where there was always something to fix or build, Ray Trebino embraced construction at a young age. After joining DPR in 1994, Ray was inspired by Doug, Peter and Ron and hoped to one day be able to inspire and engage new employees in the same way. Ray has worked in multiple regions and has experience working in all of DPR’s core markets. Most recently, he served as a project executive for our hugely successful $1.5 billion UCSF Medical Center project, which also won ENR’s 2015 National Healthcare Project of the Year award. Now as a Business Unit Leader in the Bay Area, Ray has the opportunity to focus on inspiring and engaging the more than 1,000 professional staff and craft in the region.

Pete Caputo is Vice President of Operations at Truebeck Construction, a full-service commercial general contractor focused on technical building, complex projects and interiors in the Western US. With over 25 years of experience in construction, Pete has served on both the builder and owner sides in the healthcare and commercial office markets. Pete led a statewide development group of projects, which included over $4 billion in total project portfolio. His clients include national healthcare providers such as Kaiser, Sutter Health, and UCSF. Some of the notable healthcare facilities include Sutter Health’s Van Ness and Geary Campus and the CPMC Mission Bernal Campus, and the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital at Mission Bay.

Bonnie S. Graham was appointed Health Care System Director in August 2013. Her strategies are based on transforming the culture to one that is focused on Employee Engagement, and Patient Centered Care, through a Lean Management Approach. Previously, she served as Deputy Director for the Veterans Health Administration Office of Patient Centered Care and Cultural Transformation where she was responsible for Patient Centered Care national operations, strategy and roll-out of this new program to create innovate programs and tools focused on providing personalized, proactive, patient-driven health care. Graham joined the VA in 2004 after several years in the private sector. She has held numerous leadership positions since that time, including Associate Director at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, a three-hospital division academic medical center, and the leader of the VA Secretary’s T21 initiative of “Enhancing the Veteran Experience and Access to Healthcare.” Prior to her VA experience, Graham held several high level executive positions in the private sector including Vice President for Medical Group Operations at Lovelace Health Systems, Inc., in Albuquerque, NM; Vice President for Medical Services at The Rehabilitation Center of Greater Waterbury in Waterbury, CT, and Executive Director of the Center for Nutrition and Rehabilitation, P.C., in Norwalk, CT. She earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a BS in Occupational Therapy at Tufts University.

Nina Soares is the Director of Clinical Operations at Haight Ashbury Free Clinics. Prior to working at HealthRIGHT 360, Nina worked in the safety net at Planned Parenthood in public affairs, education, and clinical services. She has a B.S. in Biochemistry from Tufts University, a M.S. in Physiology from Georgetown University, and participated in the Clinic Leadership Institute’s Emerging Leaders Program at the Center for Health Professions at UCSF with Blue Shield Foundation.

During his career, Dan has created solutions for healthcare projects in the full spectrum of architectural services from master planning and pre-design through implementation documents and contract administration. Over the years, Dan has shared his expertise at healthcare conferences and served on the AIA Dallas Chapter Board of Directors. Dan is currently serving as the Programs Chair for the Association of Medical Facility Professionals of North Texas. His activities are to create programs for networking and education for its members.

Ari Blum, President at RBL Real Estate leads acquisitions, development, and operations for the company. RBL is focused on developing and redeveloping real estate properties throughout the United States, with an emerging focus on the healthcare sector. The company uses its proprietary geospatial mapping software, Catalyst™ to identify target locations for outpatient healthcare facilities by mapping supply-demand imbalances using patient spending and physician data. Mr. Blum was previously the Chief Financial Officer and interim Chief Executive Officer of InsideTrack, a multi-million dollar technology and services firm in the higher education marketplace. Prior to joining InsideTrack, he held numerous finance roles with venture backed, mission driven companies, including Niman Ranch, the nation's leading brand for natural meats of exceptional quality, integrity, and sustainability, and Investor’s Circle, a network of angel investors focused on seed stage companies with triple bottom line financial, social, and environmental returns. He has experience in early-stage venture investing with Common’s Capital and in investment banking with Houlihan, Lokey, Howard, and Zukin. Ari graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.

Tom Andriola is UC Irvine’s Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Data (ODIT) and Chief Digital Officer. His role is designed to ensure the strategic use of data and technology, drive interdisciplinary partnerships, and champion digital strategies that expand UC Irvine’s role as a leading research university, healthcare provider & community partner.

Andriola is a global business & technology leader with a broad array of experience in the public and private sector. Throughout his career, he has been an agent for change and disruptive innovation in the marketplace. During his tenure as Vice President & Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the University of California System, he created a platform to support the collaboration of 8,500 IT professionals across the University, launched a nationally-recognized IT Leadership Academy, and was integral in developing UC Health’s big data strategy, which led to the creation of the UC-wide clinical data warehouse representing 16 million patients.

Previous to his University experience, Andriola held technology and business executive roles with organizations such as Philips, Marconi PLC, Sapient and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Eventually entering the healthcare industry and leading teams to develop solutions across the globe, including enabling the first national mammography program in Europe, introducing a virtual care solution for intensive care patients in India, and collaborating with Peking University and the China Association for Cardiologists to build its first clinical data repository of cardiology patients in China.

He remains active in the higher education and healthcare industries as an advocate for progress and equity utilizing technology and data, serving on the boards of OCHIN and Unizin. Andriola is also an advisor to various software startups, medical device, and life sciences companies, and maintains advisory relationships with UC Irvine’s Institute for Precision Health, UC Health’s Center for Data Driven Insights & Innovation, and with UC Davis’ Innovation Institute for Food and Health.

Andriola holds a bachelor's degree from George Washington University, a master's degree from the University of South Florida, and has completed the Stanford Executive MBA program.

A Board Certified doctor of internal medicine, Dr. Justin Zaghi, serves as Medical Director at Heal where he oversees clinical performance and strategy, and sees Heal patients in the Los Angeles area. Earning his MD from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Zaghi was named one Boston Magazine's “Top Future Doctors” in 2009 and received the Dean’s Community Service Honor. Dr. Zaghi also earned his MBA from Harvard Business School with first-year honors, where he was a member of the Healthcare Club and Social Entrepreneurship Club and the recipient of a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He completed his Internship/Residency at the University of California, Los Angeles where he was Co-Founder/Director of Health Systems and Management Pathway. Dr. Zaghi received his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles where he graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Prior to joining Heal, Dr. Zaghi worked at the West Los Angeles VA Hospital where he provided comprehensive care to hospitalized veterans and training house-staff and medical students. Dr. Zaghi also served as an associate consultant for the prestigious global management consulting firm, McKinsey and Company, where he advised large-scale hospital chains on payer strategy, revenue cycle management, and change management for physician groups. Dr. Zaghi has authored numerous research articles on various topics, including stethoscope hygiene and Alzheimer’s Disease and is also co-inventor of a patent-pending device that rapidly disinfects stethoscopes.

Joining Heal full-time in 2016, Dr. Zaghi focuses on preventive care - offering patients tools to promote wellness with a focus on mindfulness, meditation, and yoga. When he's not working, Dr. Zaghi enjoys playing the guitar, practicing yoga, and salsa dancing.

Nicholas Grage is Founder and Principal at IntegraBIM, a BIM Consulting group focusing on bringing innovation to the design process and construction execution. With over 16 years in Construction Management and Preconstruction for large commercial projects, Nicholas is an experienced BIM and VDC manager. His early career began as a health care provider in long term care facilities, where he gained an appreciation for the role that facilities play in the delivery of care. This experience was especially useful in 2014 when Nicholas took on the role of interim BIM Manager for the 141,600 sf Sutter Mission Bernal Campus Hospital. Since then Nicholas has gone on to other high profile projects for Kaiser, Sutter, Google and more.

Swinerton Project Executive Jennifer Lauritzen has been working in the construction industry since 1996, serving on a variety of building projects, including medical, high technology, commercial office, schools and public works. Jennifer now serves healthcare clients throughout the Bay Area, working directly as part of the consultant and owner project teams with a focus on collaboration and efficiency.

Bruce has been in the mechanical industry for over 40 years

working his way up from plumber’s assistant to Master Plumber.

For the last 30 years, he has been responsible for managing a

large variety of projects including numerous complex, research

and healthcare buildings. Bruce is an experienced professional

overseeing operations, risk management, pre-construction, and

most importantly, mentoring and guiding project executives and managers.

As an Executive Director at Devenney Group Ltd., Scott Mackey has over 30 years of experience in the architectural industry and has been providing high quality design and project delivery to a variety of clients with significant focus in the healthcare market. He provides strategic leadership and direction for projects in California. Throughout his career, his philosophy has been to listen, build consensus, and prioritize the client’s needs. His robust experience makes him acutely aware of the lasting impacts of the architectural building industry, integrating sustainable design elements into the built environment. Kevin Halter leads field sales and operations for PlanGrid in the Western U.S. and Asia-Pacific offices from Dallas, Texas to Hong Kong, China. Kevin's team supports top owners, general contractors, specialty contractors, and subcontractors running their companies on PlanGrid. Prior to PlanGrid, Kevin was the cofounder and President of Getable, a mobile platform for tracking and managing equipment rental assets on construction projects. Kevin holds a Bachelors of Science in Engineering from Tufts University.
