Ben is committed to mass timber construction and believes it is the future of sustainable development. He is an advocate for its efficient construction, environmentally responsible development, safety, and seismic resilience. His most recent project, Carbon12, is the tallest CLT building in the United States.

To bring Carbon12 to life, Ben successfully worked with state officials to waive the restrictive codes that limit the height of wood buildings. This singular accomplishment has made mid- to high-rise CLT buildings possible for the first time in this country. By building with mass timber, Ben hopes to help reinvigorate the Pacific Northwest’s timber economy and continue Portland’s reputation as a leader in American urban revitalization.

Ben brings a unique perspective to urban development, informed by over 20 years of serving as the owner, developer, architect, and general contractor on his projects. He was involved in the early stages of Portland’s Pearl District and has spearheaded redevelopment in NE Portland, including the Historic Mississippi District and the Williams/Vancouver corridor. Ben is a former member of the Portland Design Commission, and he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design.

Patrick Gilligan serves as the Senior Executive Vice President for Lincoln Property Company’s Pacific Northwest and Mountain West regions, and is responsible for all business operations throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. This includes the implementation of all service lines and oversight for all acquisition, development, and redevelopment activities. He has over 20 years of experience in real estate investment and development, and has been a part of Lincoln since 2006, completing over $5.5 billion in transactions.

Since entering the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West markets in 2014, he has grown Lincoln’s portfolio to over 10 million sq. ft. of office, industrial, retail, and multi-family assets under management, including such notable projects as Pacwest, Wells Fargo Center, The Sutton multi-family development in Portland, OR; Terminal 1 in Vancouver, WA; and Eastport Logistics in Boise, ID. He also played an integral role in securing development rights to The Point in Draper, UT; a 100-acre master-planned mixed-use community that will result in over 3.3M sf of office, retail, entertainment, and residential projects. Prior to running the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West regions, Patrick served as a Vice President in Lincoln’s San Francisco office for nearly a decade.

Vanessa Sturgeon became president and CEO of TMT Development in 2003. Founded by her grandfather, Thomas P. Moyer, Vanessa started learning the business while still in college. Today, she leads a team that manages more than 6.5 million square feet of mixed-use high-rise assets, retail shopping centers and industrial parks in Oregon and Washington.

Her grandfather’s entrepreneurial spirit and fierce commitment to Portland is evident in the way Vanessa leads TMT and serves her community. With countless business accolades and extensive board service to her credit, gratitude for the life she leads fuels her “love what you have” philosophy and her passion to help those who struggle with inequity.

As a mom to three boys, Vanessa loves the feeling of family at TMT. “We all like each other. It’s authentic. We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We laugh a lot … we have fun. I can dish it, but I can take it, too.”

The company she leads places a high value on service. Service to tenants, business partners, coworkers and community. Empowering people to lead and serve from wherever they are is something she believes in; something she learned from mentors who let her make mistakes and build her reputation.

Vanessa attended Santa Clara University, Atkinson Graduate School of Management and Willamette University College of Law.

Chris co-founded Capstone Partners LLC in 2002. He brings over 26 years of real estate investment, development and asset management in all product types. Chris has personally sourced and directed the development, investment and management of over 8 million square feet of industrial, multi-family, retail and office properties in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Nevada for institutional partners and clients including Morrison Street Capital, Prudential Real Estate Investors, PCCP, LLC, Washington Capital Management and several family offices.

Chris received a BA in Economics from University of California, Davis in 1989 where he also served as its Student Body President. Chris lives in Portland with his wife Barbara and two teenage children Nikki (18) and Conner (15). Chris is an Eagle Scout.

He serves on the Advisory Board for the PSU Center for Real and is a Board Member of KairosPDX, a PPS K-5 Charter School. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and The Forest Park Conservancy.

Portland Timbers President of Business Mike Golub has more than 30 years of experience in professional sports marketing and management, including a wealth of experience in Portland and the Pacific Northwest.

Golub joined the Timbers in 2009 and helped lead the organization during its highly successful launch to Major League Soccer. Golub – who oversees all business functions for the Timbers, Portland Thorns FC and Portland Timbers 2 (T2) – is a two-time recipient of the Doug Hamilton MLS Executive of the Year (2011, 2013).

Under Golub’s guidance, the Timbers have indelibly changed the landscape of sports in Portland, while becoming a national success story and a model professional sports franchise. The Timbers have sold out all of their regular-season games in their six MLS seasons, forged industry-leading corporate partnerships, created an Annual Member waiting list of more than 13,000 fans, introduced an award-winning community relations platform, Stand Together, created one of the best in-game stadium experiences in sports, established the Thorns as the most successful women’s soccer club in the world and cultivated the Timbers’ international reputation for overall excellence.

Golub received the Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year award following the 2013 season in which the Timbers continued to see growth in key business areas, including ticket sales, corporate partnerships and local television ratings. He also received the honor in 2011 in recognition of the team’s remarkable and historic inaugural season in the league.

As a club, the Timbers have been honored with numerous league and industry awards under Golub’s leadership. In 2015, the Timbers were singled out, for the second time in three years, as part of an elite group of top professional teams named as finalists for the Sports Business Journal’s “Sports Team of the Year,” a group that included Major League Baseball’s Kansas City Royals, the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning, the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.

In 2015, the Timbers were one of four professional teams nominated by ESPN for Humanitarian Team of the Year. For six consecutive years the Timbers have been named one of the Oregon’s most philanthropic businesses and, in 2015, were named by the Portland Business Journal as the state’s most philanthropic medium-sized business.

Golub also brings considerable experience in a variety of major league sports. Previously, Golub served as the Chief Operating Officer for the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers from 2006-08, reshaping the team’s business and brand into one of the most successful in professional sports. With Nike, he was a founding member and director of Nike Sports Entertainment, a global sports marketing division that established new strategic alliances and created and administered Nike-owned sporting events.

He served as the Executive Vice President for the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies from 2000-05 and was the Senior Vice President of Business Operations and Chief Marketing Officer for the National Hockey League’s New York Rangers prior to joining the Trail Blazers in October 2006. Golub managed the National Basketball Association’s Events Division from 1991-96 and began his career in sports as a producer for Major League Baseball Productions.

Golub graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Government and earned his Masters of Business Administration from Stanford University.

Golub is Chair of the Regional Arts and Culture Council, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Oregon Cultural Trust and serves on the Board of Directors of the Portland Business Alliance, Pioneer Courthouse Square, Oregon Special Olympics and the Oregon Sports Authority.

Mike, his wife, Sam, and their two dogs reside in Portland.

Native Oregonian Jordan D. Schnitzer is the President of Harsch Investment Properties, a Portland-based real estate acquisition, development and management company started by his father in 1950. He is a 1973 graduate of the University of Oregon and in 1976 received his doctorate degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College.

Mike brings more than 34 years of proven success in national-level real estate development, investment and finance, and a unique background in national development, capital markets, and asset management to the Portman Industrial team.

Mike has consummated over $2 billion in CRE transactions with a diversity of development and capital markets experience in all asset types of commercial real estate, including: industrial, e-commerce, food & beverage/temperature-controlled warehouses, office, multi-family residential, hotels, retail, single-family track homebuilding, airport parking facilities, and entertainment venues (amphitheaters, casinos). He holds a BS in Finance from Indiana Universities’ Kelly School of Business, and an MBA degree from Eastern Illinois University. Mike also serves as Chairman to NAIOP’s Capital Markets III Forum and is a member of ULI’s Industrial and Office Council.
