Molly brings over 15 years of experience to her role as Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development and Market Leader for Ryan’s Southwest Region, in which she is responsible for the leadership of office, industrial, retail and healthcare real estate development teams and general business development efforts. She handles site selection and acquisition, municipal use permits and approvals, design and construction coordination, financial packaging and lease or sale negotiation, while working to mentor and cultivate a strong group of developers.

Steven Schwarz

Steven leads all aspects of ViaWest Group with primary emphasis on investment and development strategy, deal-sourcing, and capital markets activity. He has thirty years of experience in the development, operations and financing of all types of real estate, with deep experience in industrial and office properties. Through involvement in over $3 billion worth of projects, Steven has provided build-to-suit, speculative development, acquisitions, dispositions and property management services in multiple product types in the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and Southeast U.S.

Prior to forming ViaWest Properties in 2003, Steven led the development as SVP of The Plaza Companies, a full service, medical-office, senior-living development, and property management company. Prior to joining Plaza, Steven rose through the ranks to become COO and EVP of The Hewson Company, a privately-held, real estate development company in the Western U.S. in which capacity he developed properties ranging from mid-rise office buildings to a 2.2MM s.f. industrial complex. Other work experience includes Real Estate Finance work with SunTrust Banks in Atlanta, GA.

Steven graduated from The University of Texas Honors Program with a B.A. with Honors in Marketing. He has served as Chairman of the NAIOP Arizona Chapter, on the National Board of Directors of NAIOP, and in national and local capacities with Urban Land Institute (ULI). He has also served on numerous local and national boards and councils of non-profit philanthropic, civic and industry organizations including Greater Phoenix Leadership, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, as Board Chairman of the Jewish Community Association of Greater Phoenix and on the National Board of JFNA.

He resides in Paradise Valley, Arizona with his wife Jennifer and has three grown children.

Russ Sanders, AIA is a Principal leading the Workplace Studio at SmithGroupJJR’s Phoenix office.

Russ is an award-winning architect with a depth of experience across a diverse cross section of

building types including office workplace, aviation, municipal, multi-family residential, hospitality,

healthcare, historic preservation, and education. Russ gravitates toward projects that incorporate

culture, history, context, and place-making, and strives to foster a fun and engaging environment on

every project. As an early adopter of design technology, Russ mastered Virtual Building, BIM, and

other design and management tools and was encouraged by the promise of these technologies to

transform the practice of architecture. He has presented internationally on numerous tech topics

and is the recipient of an AIA National BIM Award. Russ continues to conduct research at

SmithGroupJJR where he has been applying new tools and workflows to benefit the entire project

team, leveraging technology to enhance consensus-building throughout programming, design, and

construction phases. He is active with the ULI, AIA Forum, and past President of AIA Phoenix Metro

Chapter and past chairman of the same Chapter’s Virtual Design & Construction Committee.

Zach Murphy

Zach is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Pender Capital. Zach co-founded Pender in 2015 and brings over 16 years of experience in both commercial real estate finance and capital markets expertise. Zach oversees the firm’s Investment and Research program which includes deal sourcing, research, and structuring and is a member of the Investment and Research Committee and the Management Committee. Prior to Pender, Zach served as Managing Director/ Senior Vice President for Liberty SBF, a commercial finance company based in Philadelphia, where he was responsible for establishing Liberty’s Western Regional HQ in Los Angeles and directed West Coast originations and operations. Zach personally originated over $60 million of commercial loans during the first year of operations on the West Coast. In 2008, Zach joined Silver Point Capital, LP in New York, a Goldman Sachs partner fund, where he was responsible for commercial real estate loan originations and insurance-linked securities trading. Michael P. Garlick is an experienced and respected commercial real estate professional with an extensive knowledge of the Phoenix office market and established long-term industry relationships. Working closely with Mike McQuaid and Chris Krewson, Mr. Garlick provides a highly integrated organizational structure and personalized service delivery based on proactive assessments of his client's goals and objectives. Throughout his 24-year career, Mr. Garlick has completed over 850 transactions totaling more than 10 million square feet valued in excess of $1.0 billion of total consideration.

Mr. Garlick's comprehensive understanding of the Phoenix office market is complemented by his thorough analysis and marketing skills involving lease and sale negotiations. A shrewd negotiator and effective communicator, he achieves his client's objectives and goals in a timely and organized fashion.

Mr. Garlick joined NGKF in 2014 to expand the Phoenix Office Landlord Advisory Services platform. Mary Alexander’s background in real estate includes extensive planned community development and public homebuilder experience. Her accomplishments have included land acquisition and entitlement projects, infrastructure planning and finance, public lands transactions, community governance structuring and documentation, sales contracting and regulatory approvals, employment matters, litigation management, construction contracting and warranty enforcement.

Ms. Alexander recently was named a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. In her current position, she directs corporate governance and legal services for DMB, in addition to overseeing the Company’s talent resources, information governance, risk management and insurance programs.

Prior to joining DMB, she served as Associate General Counsel for Del Webb Corporation and Pulte Homes, Inc. She began her legal career at the law firm Streich Lang Weeks & Cardon, which is now Quarles & Brady.

Mark Singerman

Mark Singerman is Vice President, Regional Director for the Rockefeller Group’s Arizona Region. He is responsible for the development process of the company’s projects throughout Arizona, including in-depth financial and market analyses and direction of consultants, such as architects, engineers, and leasing agents.

Before joining the company in 2008, Mr. Singerman was the Western Region President of Crosswinds National LLC in Phoenix, where he was instrumental in forming the western national division to develop commercial and mixed-use master-planned communities. His extensive real estate career began in 1975 in the midwest as a Retail Leasing Representative for Developers Diversified REIT in Cleveland, Ohio. Afterward, Mr. Singerman served 18 years in southern California with several large developers, including regional mall developer Ernest W. Hahn, Inc. and Trizec/Hahn. He directed the acquisition, development, and construction of numerous office, industrial, and retail-center buildings, as well as single- and multi-family residences.

In addition, he acquired and managed the entitlement and development of over 4,200 acres in California, Arizona, Texas, Michigan, and Florida for mixed-use master-planned communities with infrastructure to support 15,000 homes, plus parks, schools, amenity centers, and commercial spaces.

Mr. Singerman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with honors in Personnel Management, from Ohio University, and a Masters of Business Administration from California State University. He is actively involved in the Urban Land Institute and several other national real estate organizations.

Bryce Hall is an accomplished architect and executive with more than 20 years of experience in residential architecture. As the President of KEPHART, he guides the strategic vision and direction of the firm, providing support for eight additional Principals who help drive KEPHART’s success. Bryce’s contagious passion and deep knowledge of the industry inspires his peers to pursue continuous growth and education.

Bryce attended the University of Colorado, where he earned master’s degrees in both architecture and business administration, allowing him to understand the industry more comprehensively from the perspective of both an architect and a developer. His enthusiasm for these two interests, combined with his deep understanding of client needs, have helped solidify KEPHART as the architect of choice for many national developers.

Bryce’s exemplary skills and leadership have earned him recognition as the President of one of Denver’s Best Places to Work, and as a leader in the field of architecture on ColoradoBiz’s 2025 Architects Power List. Derek Kirkland

Derek has more than 28 years of construction industry experience working as an Owner, Construction

Manager and General Contractor, both in the U.S. and U.K. Construction Industries. Born in Scotland,

U.K., Derek attended Glasgow Caledonian University and majored in Quantity Surveying, a Construction

Management Degree with a specialization in Construction Cost Management, Construction Law and

Contracts.

He has been with DPR Construction for 15 years and is the Business Unit Leader in Arizona. During his

time with DPR Derek has worked in a variety of roles including; Estimator, Preconstruction Manager and

Project Executive - overseeing the construction of projects in the field. He has a passion for developing

and growing people and is a leader in practice initiatives across DPR. Derek was also interim Business

Unit Leader of DPR's Atlanta office for two years, and was involved with the acquisition of Hardin

Construction and the integration of the two companies.

Derek's project experience includes a wide variety of Healthcare, Higher Education and Life Science

projects ranging from cGMP manufacturing facilities and pilot plants to R&D labs. He has specialized in

the Life Science and Higher Education Market Sectors and has a leadership role in the pursuit and

execution of this project type, both in Arizona and across the U.S.
