John Carlson, President of Mark-Taylor Companies, has dedicated the last 20 years of his career to the organization. Through his strategic direction and expertise in macroeconomics, John has scaled Mark-Taylor to its largest size in the company’s history while increasing employee engagement. As CEO of P.B. Bell, Chapin leads the strategic planning and growth of the company and oversees all aspects of P.B. Bell, including development and property management. After serving as a commercial lending officer and vice president for National City Bank, Chapin joined P.B. Bell in 1993 and worked alongside his father, Founder Philip Bell, for 25 years. Over the years, Chapin has developed more than 6,300 units and acquired over 4,100 units. Chapin serves on the Board of Directors for the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council and Valley Partnership. He is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council, the UMOM Patrons Committee and the Arizona Multihousing Association. Chapin received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from University of Arizona and holds an Arizona real estate license.

Brian Cassidy, AIA is the President of CCBG Architects, Inc. with studios in downtown Phoenix and San Diego. He has been involved in many adaptive reuse, and mixed-use high-density housing projects in greater Phoenix, including more than 12,000 new apartment units. This work includes a diverse body of warehouse renovations that are breathing new life into our city. Brian passionately advocates to build Phoenix into a world class city in which to live, work, worship and play. He is a graduate of Arizona State University, and is the Chair of the Phoenix Warehouse District Council, which promotes and brands the District in concert with a series of creative volunteers and businesses.

Titus Mathew is the Director of the City of Phoenix Housing Department. Titus has

worked for the City of Phoenix for 21 years spanning four City Departments. In his

newly appointed role, Titus oversees 126 full-time staff, 51 contract staff and an

operating budget of $113.5 million to provide housing programs to Phoenix residents.

The Housing Department facilitates public housing, Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers

(HCV), affordable rental apartments and single-family homes to more than 35,000 area

residents including housing for special populations inclusive of those experiencing

homelessness, homeless/disabled Veterans, human trafficking survivors and their

families. The Department also partners with non-profit and for-profit community

organizations on the preservation and development of affordable housing units. Titus

and his staff manage the City's Housing Phoenix Plan, which has a goal of creating or

preserving 50,000 homes by 2030 to address the housing shortage in Phoenix.

Titus began his career with Deloitte & Touche and has over 25 years of experience in

finance/accounting, operations and general management in the private sector and

municipal government.

Cindy came to the Arizona Department of Housing in June 2021 to serve

as the Deputy Director in charge of Operations. She is currently working

to streamline the agency’s programs and operations, enhance

partnerships and communication, implement the $200 million

Homeowner Assistance Fund Program, and distribute over $190 million in

State Fiscal Recovery Funds. Prior to ADOH, Cindy worked for the City of

Phoenix for 31 years and held positions in five City departments including

Finance, Budget, Police, and Planning & Development. For the last five

years, Cindy was the Director of the Housing Department managing the

City’s Public Housing, Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, affordable

housing, and housing development programs. Cindy’s a Phoenix native, a

Certified Public Manager, and has both her Bachelor’s and Master’s

degrees from Northern Arizona University.

Travis Vencel joined TWG Development in 2019 as a Development Director. Travis focuses on new

markets as well as established markets, including Arizona, Ohio, Indiana, North and South Carolina. Mr.

Vencel has been in real estate since 1990 as a broker, appraiser, consultant and developer.

For the last 15 years Travis has worked for TWG and Trinitas Development developing multi-family

housing across the US, specifically focused on Student and Low-Income markets. Travis is an Indiana

real estate broker, Indiana certified general appraiser and holds an SRA designation from the Appraisal

Institute.

Prior to joining TWG, Mr. Vencel served as Executive Vice President of Trinitas, a national student

housing developer based in Lafayette, Indiana. In his role at Trinitas, Mr. Vencel was responsible for

student and mixed-use developments across the country, specifically focused pre-development activities

including market and site identification, design, entitlements, market research, and hand off to

construction. Mr. Vencel also previously served as President of Heartland Development and Vencel

Properties.

Mr. Vencel is a graduate of Hanover College and holds a designation from the Appraisal Institute. Mr.

Vencel has served on many boards and commissions, including the Bloomington Plan Commission and

the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, where he served as chair. In addition, Travis has been

a member of the board of directors for the Apartment Association of Indiana and the Appraisal

Institute’s Hoosier State Chapter and the Monroe County Airport Board of Directors. He has also served

on a variety of community boards and commissions and has a passion for supporting youth services.

When not developing real estate, Travis is a commercial hot air balloon pilot and competes and fly’s

professionally across the country. Travis has five children and lives in Bloomington, Indiana in the rolling

hills of southern Indiana and home of Indiana University.

Mark Lambing is a Senior Development Associate at Dominium. He is responsible for all facets of new project development, acquisition, and financing. His daily responsibilities include sourcing new acquisition opportunities, determining project feasibility, overseeing design and construction, structuring partnerships, and negotiating with lenders and investors.

Since joining Dominium in 2017, Lambing has been directly involved in over $350,000,000 of affordable housing development. He has extensive experience utilizing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Federal Historic Tax Credit, and State Historic Tax Credit. In 2021 he relocated to Phoenix, AZ to assist in opening a Dominium Mountain West office focusing exclusively on developing affordable housing.

Elizabeth (Liza) Chen Mutzl is the co-owner and one of the principal market analysts of MMA

Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana, a firm dedicated to multifamily housing analysis. Producing her first

market studies in 1997, Liza built on her background as a commercial appraiser to develop her

expertise in multifamily housing, with a special focus on affordable housing.

Liza produces market studies and appraisals for private industry, local housing agencies, the

Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as other state and national agencies.

With the National Council of Housing Market Analysts (NCHMA), the professional body

dedicated to upholding the standards of residential rental real estate market analysis, Liza has

held positions on the Executive Board and Education Committee. Currently, she serves as the

organization’s Vice-Chair and will ascend to Chairperson in 2022. She has participated as a

speaker at the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association and National Council of Housing

Market Analysts’ Virtual COVID-19 Town Hall to discuss assessing demand and conducting

research during the pandemic, acted as moderator for the panel on Affordable Housing

Underwriting from a Market Study User’s Perspective for the Indiana Housing and Community

Development Association, and has served several roles with the Indianapolis Sub-Chapter of the

Hoosier State Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, including acting as public relations chair.

Entering her 25 th year as a multifamily market analyst, Liza maintains unwavering dedication to

providing the most accurate analysis across the spectrum of multifamily housing.

Adrienne Akin Faulkner is the CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Faulkner Design Group (FDG), a fully integrated national interior architecture and design firm specializing in multifamily housing and senior living environments. Working with the largest developers, contractors, real estate investment groups, and management firms across the country for more than 28 years, Adrienne consistently blazes a path of leadership and innovation by understanding global social trends and advocating for the highest quality of living for all stakeholders.

Adrienne also serves as president of additional entities affiliated with FDG, including Architectural-Images, a unique art-line/collection, and Design Expediting Services International, a turn-key receiving, storage, warehouse, and installation company.

Her passion for design and architecture stems from her grandfather, George L. Dahl, FAIA, Chief Architect and orchestrator of the 1936 Centennial World’s Fair Exposition in Dallas, The University of Texas Austin Masterplan, and thousands of projects across the country. Adrienne considers herself a student of the world and connector of people, regularly traveling across six continents, including an annual trip to Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Adrienne shares her leadership acumen with multiple philanthropic organizations as an active board member of the Dallas Historical Society, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, and the Dallas International Film Festival. She is also a board member of Friends of Fair Park, AURORA, and EarthxFilm. Her passion for service started young while growing up at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and continues today as a member at Highland Park United Methodist Church. She leads her companies in service by coordinating multiple volunteer opportunities per year for her employees. She is regularly involved with such charitable organizations as the Yellow Rose Gala, World Vision, CC Young, the North Texas Food Bank, and the Byron Nelson Annual Golf Tournament.

Adrienne graduated Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration double major in International Business and Finance. She also graduated with honors with an Associate Degree in Interior Design. Faulkner is NCIDQ certified, a Registered Interior Designer licensed in 22 states, a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, IDEX, and a LEED Green Associate. She maintains memberships with the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners, International Interior Design Association, the Leadership Board of the National Association of Home Builders, and dozens of other national and local organization.

Linda Coburn is vice president of asset management for NexMetro Communities, a national

developer of luxury leased home neighborhoods that has nearly 7,000 homes completed and under

construction representing 42 projects in major metro areas across the nation. Linda leads and

collaborates with asset management partners on strategic initiatives to enhance property

performance and build financial discipline, while inspiring a consumer-focused culture for the renters

by choice who live in the company’s Avilla Home neighborhoods. With more than 25 years of

experience in the multifamily industry, she formerly led a diverse owned and operated $520 million

portfolio for Mark-Taylor Residential; and held regional management positions with Equity

Residential. Active in the multifamily industry, Linda has a long record of service on several key

committees, and is currently vice chair of the Arizona Multifamily Association Executive Board and an

NAA Delegate.

John Kobierowski is co-founder and President/CEO at ABI Multifamily. John has enjoyed a 31-year career in multifamily advisory, brokerage,

development, syndication and ownership with an emphasis on brokerage. In his tenure, John has closed over 1,700+ multifamily transactions with

clients ranging from national, institutional owners to regional syndicators and local operators.

Prior to forming ABI Multifamily, John was also a founding partner and advisor at Hendricks & Partners (now Berkadia). Based at Hendricks’

corporate office, John was consistently one of the most active brokers during his 15+ year tenure, as well as, responsible for the creation,

development and release of Hendricks’ internal database and research collection system.

John began his real estate brokerage career with Marcus & Millichap in 1989 after graduating from Arizona State University with Bachelor of

Science in Liberal Arts. He and his family have lived in Arizona since 1988.

As Director of Design at Faulkner Design Group, Claudine oversees the design development of projects, primarily

focusing on the national multifamily sector. She leads our design teams from initial design concept through construction

documents with valuable insight and 26 years of industry knowledge. While ensuring client satisfaction with quality

control, she has fostered design teams in the development of many award-winning projects. Her passion is creating

inspiring yet functioning spaces, motivating the FDG team to solve design challenges with innovative solutions.

Claudine plays an essential role in maintaining client relationships with firms such as Trinsic Residential Group, NTS,

Camden, Southern Land, and Legacy Partners. She provides leadership in setting department goals, design standards,

ensuring deadlines and budgets are met, all the while ensuring our client’s visions are captured with the design for each

project. Her leadership responsibilities also include proposals, contract review and negotiations.

Since joining FDG as an intern in 1995, Claudine feels fortunate to work in an industry that allows so much creativity and

individuality within each project. She is a graduate of Steven F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior

Design and a Minor in Art History.

Jeff has been involved with technology for multifamily since 2001. He currently is a National Account Manager at ADT Multifamily and provides owners, developers and management companies a fully integrated smart solution that includes in unit smart technology, smart security, common area access, cameras and gated entry solutions. The ADT solution will integrate with most property management software currently available. He has spent last 20 years in the multifamily industry and has found relationships in multifamily last so he feels you must always treat your customer "like you want to be treated" and provide the best service before and after installation to ensure everything runs smoothly. Jeff's favorite quote is "Seek first to understand before being understood" and he believes this principle is the foundation for a successful business relationship.

Ken Mendez started in the built environment solutions in 1996, and has worked in several capacities in the Architecture & Design industry. Gaining expertise from a multitude of teams and manufacturers, he has served as a District Account Manager for both Kimball and Teknion, then moving on to Vice President of Sales for both Office Pavilion, and Workplace Solutions. For three years, Ken was the Regional Director for Knoll for the Houston Region. He currently utilizes his expertise in the multifamily market at Division Six and CORE Office Interiors in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. His bold approach puts people, process, and technology at the forefront of his go-to-market strategy. Ken excels at his job because of the care and growth he provides for his clients and employees to maximize their potential and ensure they each have the solutions and tools they need to succeed.
