Maricopa Integrated Health System

Kris Gaw became Chief Operating Officer of MIHS in March 2016. MIHS is Arizona’s only

public healthcare system and Maricopa County’s largest training center of physicians,

nurses and other healthcare professionals. MIHS includes the Maricopa Medical Center,

the Arizona Burn Center, the Arizona Children’s Center, a Level I Trauma Center, two

behavioral health centers and a network of 13 neighborhood clinics that serve the entire

county.

Prior to joining MIHS, Ms. Gaw served as Executive Vice President and Chief

Administrative Officer – Hospital Operations for Parkland Hospital and Health System in

Dallas, Texas, one of the largest public health systems in the country. At Parkland, Ms.

Gaw was responsible for overseeing daily hospital operations as well as system wide

ancillary and support services. She served as Executive Lead for the successful movement

of 626 patients from existing to new hospital via a 923-foot $25 million bridge over a two-

day period.

From 2008 to 2014, Ms. Gaw served as Chief Operating Officer at Renown Regional

Medical Center, an 808-bed tertiary care facility and Level II Trauma Center in Reno,

Nevada, that provides services that span over an 80,000-mile radius from Sacramento to

Salt Lake City. Renown Regional is home to the area’s only Children’s Hospital, with the

region’s only children’s emergency room. From 2002 to 2008, Ms. Gaw was Vice President

of Human Resources at Renown Health, northern Nevada’s largest integrated health

network, with more than 6,000 employees. From 1995 to 2001, Ms. Gaw was Director of

Customer Service for Hometown Health, the insurance division of Renown Health.

Ms. Gaw received both a Bachelor’s and a Masters of Business Administration from the

University of Phoenix. She is a member of American College of Healthcare Executives, and

is a Certified Rapid Process Improvement Workshop Leader.

Michelle Just has 18 years of experience in aging services, long-term care and continuing care retirement

community management. Recognized nationally as a leader in service and advocacy for older adults and

an innovator in the field of aging services, Just is transforming how to best serve older adults by focusing

on issues central to their quality of life and by meeting their changing needs and preferences. Just

currently serves as president and chief executive officer for Beatitudes Campus in Phoenix, Arizona. As

CEO, Just provides leadership across the continuing care retirement community and the wide spectrum

of services for older people, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory

support and home care services. She guides the campus vision to be a center of excellence and a leader

in the field of aging services. Just holds leadership roles in advocacy groups for not-for- profit retirement

communities, health care facilities and the residents they serve. For Arizona LeadingAge, she is president

elect of the Board of Directors and chair of the Policy and Governmental Affairs Committee and is a

mentor for the Leadership Academy, having served as president previously. She is past president of the

Alumni Network of the LeadingAge National Leadership Academy. Just is also a member of the Board of

Directors for Covenant Health Network. Just is a member of the Board of Directors for the Council of

Health and Human Services of the United Church of Christ. Just also serves as a member of the Board of

Directors for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. She was a board member for the Association

of Fundraising Professionals. Just is a frequent speaker on issues relating to aging and is an advocate for

older adults and their rapidly changing needs. She received her bachelor’s degree in healthcare

administration from Metropolitan State College of Denver. She is a Fellow of the LeadingAge Leadership

Academy.

Eric brings almost 40 years of senior healthcare/retirement industry experience to LivGenerations Senior Living. Prior to founding RCS (predecessor to LivGenerations), Eric’s business accomplishments include his role as President of Retirement Living Affiliates (RLA), President and co-founder of The Regent Healthcare Corporation and President and majority stockholder of a privately held retirement living and long-term care operation. He is a former President of the Arizona Assisted Living Federation of America. In addition, he has served on the boards of numerous trade and industry groups and spearheaded the introduction of hospitality, customer relations, strategic planning and Total Quality Management (TQM) into the healthcare and retirement industry throughout the Southwest. Eric received his MBA degree from the University of Phoenix.

Eric’s dedication to ethics, success and people serves as the foundation that has earned LivGenerations the reputation of being communities of choice for residents and staff alike. Eric and his wife reside in Ahwatukee, AZ and have three children.

Bryan is a Vice President at EPS and leads the firm’s Land Development group overseeing all civil engineering design related to the private sector. His expertise lies in managing large complex projects, building productive and long-lasting relationships with governmental agencies and clients, and producing sound engineering designs that surpass client expectations. Bryan has more than 18 years of experience directing multiple project teams and is highly successful in creating and mentoring competent, open minded, and well-rounded teams.

As the Director of Preconstruction, Bill is responsible for creating the most robust preconstruction services Weitz can offer its clients by utilizing the best tools and processes available. Through nationwide use of Weitz’ systems, Weitz significantly enhances how the company delivers leading edge preconstruction services. With 40 years of construction experience, he has held numerous leadership positions within the organization and is known for his expertise and strategic guidance during preconstruction. Bill’s first project for The Weitz Company was a CCRC and he currently leads National Senior Living preconstruction efforts for the company.

Bill Holds a bachelor’s degrees from Iowa State University in Civil Engineering. He and his wife Marty reside in Phoenix and they have two adult children and two grandchildren. Bill is an avid golfer and a wine connoisseur.

Ms. Atkinson has served as our SVP, Acquisitions since May 2016. Ms. Atkinson served as the Company’s Director of Acquisitions from September 2012 – May 2016. Ms. Atkinson joined the Company in 2012 and comes from a focused background in medical office and general office real estate investments. Before joining the Company, Ms. Atkinson served JDM Partners in her position as Real Estate Investment Specialist from June 2010 – September 2012. From May 2004 – June 2010, Ms. Atkinson was a medical office and general office investment broker for Grubb & Ellis BRE Commercial. Ms. Atkinson holds a BS degree in Finance from Arizona State University.

As Development Vice President based in Irgens’ Phoenix office, Jason is involved in all aspects of healthcare and commercial developments in the state of Arizona. He oversees architecture, engineering and construction on development projects and is active with project feasibility analysis, leasing, contract negotiations and review of planning and development documents and processes. With Jason’s educational background in marketing, he also is an asset in promoting business development opportunities on behalf of the company.

Prior to Irgens, Jason worked for a national retail developer and managed a $50 million portfolio of retail shopping centers and land sites. He is very active in his local community, including being a member of the Men’s Art Council, Tempe Enhanced Services Commission Board member and participating in several professional organizations.

As Corgan’s Healthcare Sector Leader, AJ supports and oversees the development of Corgan's national

healthcare practice with a focus on thought leadership, growth, and client engagement. AJ’s experience

includes all aspects of planning and design with an emphasis on hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, and

specialty centers of excellence. He has served as Principal-in-Charge, project manager, and design

architect, in various capacities from business development, to managing projects. In addition to his state

licenses in Arizona and New Mexico, AJ is one of only 14 board-certified healthcare architects in Arizona

and was named one of the top leaders for Arizona architecture in 2021 and 2023.

Michael Morton is a Principal for Medical Office Brokers, where he focuses on serving the healthcare industry. Michael’s expertise covers all aspects of healthcare real estate to include third party listing, tenant/buyer representation, investments and value-add strategic planning with execution.

In 2004 Michael began his real estate career in Arizona. 2009 represented a unique opportunity to join Medical Office Brokers where he leverages his experience to focus on the niche medical market space. For several years, Medical Office Brokers exclusively represented tenants/buyers’ health care real estate requirements. MOB ventured into third-party listing with a large institutional ownership group from the perspective of the provider. MOB continues to seek strategic growth opportunities striving for successful partnerships within the health care community.

Michael is married with four children. He and his wife Sally are passionate providers of foster care to children in need. Michael sits on the board of directors for Hushabye Nursery.
