Bart Blatstein is the CEO of the privately held development company Tower Developments. Under his guise, Tower Investments has become well known for its aggressive and creative urban investments in major projects, as well as its expertise in all aspects of planning, design, construction, financing and leasing. Most recently, Bart set his development focus on the redevelopment of Northern Liberties and established the neighborhood as the place in Philadelphia, to live, work and play. His redevelopment efforts have created jobs, business opportunities, tax revenues and the impetus for more investment in the Philadelphia.

In his more than 30 years in the real estate industry, Bart Blatstein has earned the reputation as one of the region’s most respected and successful developers. Tower transformed vast tracts of post-industrial properties along Columbus Boulevard into flourishing retail, entertainment, and office development, including Riverview Plaza, Columbus Crossing and Dickinson Square. In Manayunk, his company developed the largest contiguous commercial site along the Schuylkill riverfront.

Mr. Blatstein is also very active in array of business, civic and charitable groups. He was a founding member of the Waterfront Developers Council, and is the past President of the Jewish Publishing Group board and serves on the Board of Trustees of Community College of Philadelphia, President’s Advisory Board and Board of Visitors of Temple University, Northeast Treatment Centers, Federation of Jewish Agencies as Real Estate Division chairman and Israel Bonds and the Technical Assistance Center for Emerging Contractors.

Mr. Sweeney has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Trustee of Brandywine since the Company’s founding in 1994. Under his leadership, Brandywine has grown into one of the largest, publicly-traded, full-service, integrated real estate companies in the United States, with a core focus on urban, town center, and transit–oriented development in the Philadelphia, PA, Washington, D.C., and Austin, TX markets. Mr. Sweeney is also Chair of the Schuylkill River Development Corporate (SRDC), the Center City District Foundation (CCDF), the King of Prussia Rail Coalition Advisory Committee, and the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority. He is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable, NAIOP Research Foundation, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Additionally, Mr. Sweeney is co-founder and co-CEO of Bonomo Turkish Taffy LLC.

Prior to 1994, Mr. Sweeney served as Vice President of LCOR, Incorporated, a real estate development firm, and Financial Vice President and General Partner of the Linpro Company (a predecessor of LCOR). He has previously served on the boards of several Philadelphia organizations.

Mr. DiLella is a principal of Equus Capital Partners, Ltd. serving as the Firm’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Under Mr. DiLella’s leadership, Equus has grown to become a multi-faceted national real estate investment company with expertise in development, investment, property management, and asset management. Mr. DiLella’s career as a real estate specialist spans four decades and includes experience in all types of real estate investments and developments throughout the United States. Prior to joining Equus, Mr. DiLella was Vice President of Girard Bank in Philadelphia where he had a 10-year career in the Commercial Real Estate Department as a lender and a member of the asset recovery team. Mr. DiLella is a member of the Board of Trustees of Villanova University. He recently funded the establishment of the Daniel M. DiLella Center for Real Estate at the Villanova University School for Business where he is Chair of the Real Estate Advisory Council.

Mr. DiLella is a Trustee of the Cahill Trust and Chair of the Advisory Board of Roman Catholic High School. He also serves on the Boards of Villanova University, the Drexel University Real Estate Advisory Council, the National Italian American Foundation, the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation, the Barnes Foundation, and The Philly Pops. Previous board appointments include the President of the Union League of Philadelphia, where he is currently the Chairman of the Scholarship Foundation. Other previous appointments include the Committee of Seventy, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Battleship New Jersey, and the Philadelphia Police Foundation. Jay H. Shah is Hersha Hospitality Trust's Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Shah is involved in all areas of the business with a particular emphasis on strategic relationships, capital transactions, asset management, and acquisitions.

Prior to Hersha, Mr. Shah formed Shah & Byler, LLP, a law firm specializing in real estate and construction and was also a consultant at the former Coopers & Lybrand LLP, now PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Shah served as a legislative assistant to the late Senator John Heinz on Capitol Hill and has also worked with the Philadelphia District Attorney's office.

Mr. Shah received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, a Master’s degree from the Temple University’s Fox School of Business, and a Law degree from Temple University School of Law.

Mr. Shah serves on the Board of Trustees of The Episcopal Academy and Cornell University Dean’s Advisory Board for the School of Hotel Administration. A native of New England, Ron Caplan studied business management at Northeastern University before relocating to the Philadelphia area and launching his career in real estate development. In 1978, what started with the purchase of several single-family homes soon expanded into a collection of multi-unit housing ventures located throughout the city of Philadelphia. Ron founded PMC Property Group (then called Philadelphia Management Company) in 1981 when the number and size of his properties had grown robust enough to require the services of a management company. Since that time, Ron has also assembled a general-contracting division within PMC Property Group, making the company a full-service developer focused on adaptive-reuse projects spanning the East Coast. development and capital markets efforts.

The Buccini/Pollin Group has acquired and developed over $5 billion of properties in every real

estate asset class throughout the United States since its founding in 1993. BPG is the developer,

owner and operator of over 50 hotels, seven million square feet of office space, 15 major

residential communities, numerous retail properties, and multiple sports/entertainment venues.

Among BPG’s affiliates, PM Hotel Group manages 60+ hotels and over $600mm of managed

revenue, ranking it as the 15th largest independent hotel management company in the US

(pmhotegroup.com). BPGS Construction has 60+ associates focused on general contracting,

tenant improvements and owner representation services (bpgsconstruction.com). BPG 360

John Grady serves as President of PIDC where he is responsible for the organization’s efforts to develop and implement collaborative strategies designed to drive economic growth to every corner of Philadelphia. In this role, John leads PIDC’s efforts to strengthen relationships with the public, private and philanthropic sectors to promote business growth, investment and development across the city and throughout its economy. He also directs internal activities around business development, capitalization, impact assessment, and the development and delivery of real estate and financing products that fill project financing gaps for neighborhood and large-scale commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments, deliver capital to growing businesses, and energize the development of the city’s workplaces of the future.

John has more than 25 years of leadership experience in public-private partnerships that drive investment, development and job growth in and around Philadelphia. He joined PIDC in 1998 and has been its President since 2011 after serving in a variety of senior leadership positions, including overseeing PIDC’s city-wide real estate development activity and its acquisition and redevelopment of The Navy Yard. Prior to joining PIDC, John spent 9 years with the Cooper’s Ferry Development Association planning and developing Camden, NJ’s commercial waterfront.

John is a native Philadelphian, born and raised in the City and a graduate from La Salle University with a BA in Economics and the University of Pennsylvania’s MPA program. Robert Walters has been actively involved in the real estate industry for 37 years. Throughout his career, he has participated in virtually every aspect of the real estate business including strategic planning, marketing, negotiation, and management. As Executive Managing Director, Mr. Walters is dedicated to process driven results and outstanding client solutions.

Mr. Walters has oversight for the real estate services operations for CBRE in Pennsylvania including the Philadelphia downtown and suburban offices, Pittsburgh, Central Penn., Delaware and Southern New Jersey. Noteworthy accomplishments during his career with CBRE include acceptance of the CBRE Chairman’s Excellence Award in 2015 and 2005 recognizing CBRE’s Top Manager in the Americas. Further, Mr. Walters was the recipient of the Trammell Crow Master Builder Award which is given to a CBRE leader who emulates Mr. Trammel Crow’s pioneering spirit, relentless drive, and extraordinary vision.

In 2013, Mr. Walters led the successful merger and integration of Fameco Company, a premier retail brokerage and management firm. In 2007, Mr. Walters directed the integration of the Trammel Crow Company regionally and in 2003, Mr. Walters also led the local merger of CBRE and Insignia-ESG the two largest real estate service firms in the Philadelphia Region.

Mr. Walters began his career in real estate with CBRE in 1979 as an industrial sales/leasing specialist. As one of CBRE’s top sales professionals in Philadelphia, Mr. Walters was promoted in 1983 to Vice President, Industrial Leadership, for the Eastern US prior to being appointed Managing Director for the Philadelphia Region in 1984.

He is a licensed broker in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, and West Virginia and is a past Board Member of the Tri-State Board of Realtors. Mr. Walters has been involved in an advisory capacity for the CBRE National Partner and Joint Venture initiative. He is an active supporter of the William Penn Charter School, Northwestern, Virginia and Duke Universities. In 2014, Mr. O'Brien undertook his current role for LCOR, leading the Company's asset and property management, financial operations, information technology, risk management, human resources and accounting. His tenure dates to 1985 when he joined The Linpro Company as Assistant Financial Vice President, subsequently serving as Controller of that firm. Upon the formation of LCOR in 1992, he was named Senior Vice President of Finance. In 1997, he assumed the additional responsibility of Director of Risk Management for our JFK International Airport project.

John J. Connors has been Brickstone’s managing partner in Philadelphia since 1985, and brings extensive experience in the fields of commercial and investment banking and finance, and real estate acquisition, development and leasing. He is Brickstone Senior Living’s Vice Chairman. Mr. Connors joined Brickstone to oversee the acquisition and development of Mellon Independence Center in Philadelphia, and since then has guided the expansion of Brickstone’s Philadelphia portfolio to include The Wanamaker Building and 101 Penn Square East. Mr. Connors is responsible for both the direction of these development efforts and the ongoing operations of all Philadelphia projects.

Mr. Connors was employed first as a commercial banker with Provident National Bank in Philadelphia, and then as a merchant banker with Merrill Lynch Private Capital, Inc., specializing in the structuring and oversight of real estate investments with many of the country’s largest private developers.

Mr. Connors holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mark H. Dambly began his career at Pennrose Properties in 1992 as a Vice President and partner. He became President of the firm in 2004. His vast experience in a variety of real-estate development arenas includes complex multi-funded transactions in both the affordable and market-rate housing markets. He is fully invested in leading the firm’s development teams through every phase of the development process, from initial financing applications and approvals through closings and construction completion.

Mr. Dambly directs the firm’s business development efforts, seeking opportunities for future business and establishing and maintaining relationships with municipalities, agencies, and lenders. Under his leadership, Pennrose’s portfolio of real-estate developments has grown to more than 16,000 units.

With his many years of experience working in the complex context of today’s real-estate development environment, Mr. Dambly understands the intricacies of residential development and takes a balanced perspective of social necessity and market opportunity. He applies his experience to form sophisticated solutions to the inherent difficulties of creating quality affordable housing in today’s market. Jonathan Morgan is a Managing Director and President of Morgan Properties JV Management LLC (http://www.morgan-properties.com/), one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing apartment owners. Headquartered in King of Prussia, PA, Morgan Properties owns and operates an existing multifamily portfolio of over 30,000 apartment units located across country in 10 states throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Region. Naveen Kakarla is the President and Chief Executive Officer and also on the Board of Directors

of HHM, which manages over 120 hotels in the Northeast, Florida, and California. These hotels

range from three to five star properties in urban and leisure resort destinations.

Naveen is responsible for HHM’s investment and fund management, acquisitions and

development, finance and accounting, human resources, and capital projects. He prior led

HHM’s New York City region and also oversaw its construction and technical services division.

Prior to joining Hersha in 2005, Naveen worked with a private equity firm and its portfolio

companies on early stage investments and "roll ups" in various industries. Naveen had been an

active real estate investor in the multifamily space prior to joining Hersha.

Outside the real estate sector, Naveen was previously a partner specializing in corporate and

securities law at the national law firm of Jenkens & Gilchrist, P.C., and was previously associated

with Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer Feld, LLP in Washington D.C. Naveen earned a Bachelor of Arts

Mark Morris is the Firmwide Managing Partner of Fox Rothschild, a national law firm

with 800+ attorneys and 22 offices coast to coast. Mark has more than 30 years of

experience as a real estate practitioner with a practice that centers on significant

transactional work, including office buildings, residential developments, industrial parks

and shopping malls and centers.

His practice has a particular focus on representing clients in the hospitality industry. He

takes a lead role in the sale, acquisition, development and management of full-service

and limited-service hotels throughout the United States. He is skilled in the negotiation

of franchise and management agreements on behalf of his franchisee clients and has

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dean S. Adler is CEO and Co-Founder of Lubert-Adler Partners, L.P., a real estate equity firm with over $7 billion in equity and $17 billion of assets under management. Dean is Head of the Investment Committee, and is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the team.

Lubert-Adler invests on behalf of, among others, 30 major university endowments, state pension funds, and major foundations.

Prior to Lubert-Adler, Dean graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a J.D. degree with honors from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and was an instructor at the Wharton School between 1981 and 1983. Tom Weitzel is a Managing Director with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Philadelphia.

Tom serves as the Office Brokerage Lead across five branch offices throughout the

region. Tom delivers strategy and solutions to tenants, owners, and investors,

Tom focuses on helping tenants minimize costs and optimize efficiency in an ever

changing workplace and economic environment. He also works with owners, on

select assets, with market expertise to maximize their return on investment. Tom served as a Captain in the US Army. His military career progression took him

from an enlisted Private to a Commissioned Officer. Tom deployed with the 3rd

Armored Calvary Regiment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005.

During his tour of duty in Southern Baghdad, he led a Tank Platoon and a Scout

Platoon before taking over as Troop Executive Officer; second in command of

136 Soldiers. Tom was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service in Iraq.

Tom and his wife have volunteered their time supporting Susan G. Komen for

He has invested and developed over 12 million square feet of properties in billions of dollars of transactions using multiple investment structures, such as Joint Ventures, Individual Syndications, Direct Investments, Real Estate Private Equity Funds and Strategic Partnerships.

In addition to his real estate equity investments, Bill served as Chairman of the Board of Hyperion Bank, a Pennsylvania state-chartered commercial bank. Further, he serves as Director on non-profit boards, including the Jewish Federation of Philadelphia.

Bill’s professional affiliations include the Young President’s Organization, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Urban Land Institute and Wharton School’s Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Bill is the recipient of many awards and honors, including the Pennsylvania Award for Community Excellence, the Chamber of Commerce Award for Excellence, the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award and the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

An avid endurance athlete who has completed numerous marathons and triathlons, Bill’s long-term training philosophy mirrors his patient investment philosophy.

Robert Buccini

Mr. Robert E. Buccini is a Co-founder and Principal of The Buccini/Pollin Group, Inc. and serves as its Co-President. He serves as Executive Director of Mid Atlantic Hotel Portfolio Investors LLC. Mr. Buccini leads The Buccini/Pollin Group general non-hotel real estate development activity. Prior to co-founding BPG, Mr. Buccini was an Assistant Vice President for real estate development at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC). While at the EDC, his projects included the Times Square-Disney redevelopment project, Brooklyn’s Metro Tech, the city’s first information technology building, and the New York City Discovery Fund (a $50 million venture fund investing in New York City based technology companies). Prior to that engagement, Mr. Buccini was a Broker and Senior Analyst for Kenneth D. Laub & Company, a commercial real estate brokerage firm based in New York City. Mr. Buccini is Chairman of the Wilmington Housing Partnership, Director of The Rodel Foundation of Delaware, Treasurer of Opera Delaware and Chairman of Delaware State University’s Annual Campaign. Mr. Buccini received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University.

Dawn Summerville

Dawn Summerville is the Deputy Commerce Director for Business Development for the City of Philadelphia where she is charged with attracting new business to the city while also monitoring retention efforts. With over 17 years of economic development experience, Ms. Summerville understands first -hand the importance of the business community and its impact on the city. Her portfolio of work is expansive as she leads a domestic and international team that focuses its efforts within Life Science, Logistics, Tech, Innovation and the Creative Economy. Prior to joining government Dawn worked in private sector in entertainment/broadcasting and for a national retailer providing guidance on strategic partnerships, brand positioning and development. Ms. Summerville attended West Chester University where she received an MA in Communication Studies in 2005. Ms. Summerville serves on the board of the Reading Terminal Market on the behalf of the city and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She lives in the Northwest section of the city and enjoys any opportunity to explore communities and talk to its residents.

With more than 25 years in public accounting, George devotes most of his time serving clients in the Real Estate Industry. These include developers, commercial and residential operators, hotels, property and asset managers, home builders, private equity funds, and individual investors. In 2009, he took on the lead role of the legacy LarsonAllen firm’s Real Estate practice and has brought that experience forward focusing on further developing the firm’s capabilities in advisory, assurance, and tax services available to clients in the real estate and hospitality space. He also is a lead resource in the firm helping clients in real estate workout transactions.
