Anthony is well known for his entrepreneurial ecosystem engagement throughout the city of Philadelphia. He is Co-founder and former CEO of Benjamin’s Desk (now 1776), serving as a champion and growth strategist for entrepreneurs.

Anthony Maher joins Scott Mazo as Partner and President of UPA in January 2019. He is a strong advocate for public/private partnerships and will strategically curate every UPA building with the Philadelphia innovation ecosystem in mind. Anthony’s experience curating coworking space as Chief Growth Officer of 1776 is expansive. He looks forward to applying the same knowledge, experience, and zeal throughout the square footage of The Platinum Corridor®.

Anthony was also Partner of Philadelphia’s First Base Commercial Office Brokerage for several years, a brokerage that was created to help high growth tech startups secure their first traditional office space. Anthony was a First-Team College All-American and 10-year professional soccer player and brings the same focus and discipline that build effective teams to help create long term partnerships and impact. He can usually be found exploring the local playgrounds or community soccer fields with his wife and three young sons.

Jason Kaufman is Senior Vice President of Investments & Development at Silverstein Properties, Inc., member of the Investment Committee, co-founder of Silverstein Capital Partners and head of the Opportunity Zone Fund. He is responsible for acquisitions, capital markets and real estate development activities totaling over $10 billion across product types globally. Prior to joining Silverstein, Mr. Kaufman was the Director of Acquisitions & Asset Management at Jadam Equities Ltd, a family office with $3 billion under management and also worked for Newmark Knight Frank in Financial Services underwriting leasing and investment sales transactions. He started his career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers as a real estate consultant for REITs and lenders of single-asset CMBS securitizations.

Mr. Kaufman attended the Ross School at the University of Michigan and earned a BBA with a concentration in Real Estate Finance. He subsequently earned a Certificate in Building Construction Technology from the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate and an Advanced Certificate in Housing, Urban Policy & Planning from the Robert F Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University.

Mr. Kaufman is actively involved in the Urban Land Institute as a leadership chairperson of the national Urban Development and Mixed-Use Council (Blue Flight), member of the New York development council, and a member of the Urban Land Institute NEXT steering committee nationally. He keeps close ties with his alma matter as an Advisory Board Member of the Ross Business School Real Estate Investment Fund and is the founding member of the University of Michigan Real Estate Group in New York. Mr. Kaufman is also a Greater NY advisor to the President of the Prospect Park Alliance, and a member of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he is active in the Center’s Career Mentor Program.

Pete serves as Director of Development for Wexford Science & Technology. He actively manages the marketing, leasing, financing, operation and construction of uCity Square – Wexford’s project in the Philadelphia market.

uCity Square is a 6.5 million square foot mixed-use development project located in Philadelphia’s growing Innovation District. Specific buildings that Wexford manages include 3711 Market Street, 3737 Market Street, and 3675 Market Street.

Pete has also managed $30 million worth of pre-development projects in uCity Square, including development and remediation of the former University City High School site and construction of new street and utility infrastructure.

Pete graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University.

Brian Klansky is the Northeast Regional Vice President for View (NASDAQ: VIEW). View manufactures a new generation of Smart Windows that get rid of blinds, let in natural light and views, and enhance occupant health while saving energy. Brian is responsible for all aspects of sales and customer satisfaction in the northeast. He is a seasoned tech executive with a passion for sustainability. Prior to View, he led sales and marketing efforts for BrightPower and US Energy Group. Before this, Brian was Vice President of sales at M5 Networks, an innovative cloud telephony company. While at M5, Brian built the business from under $10M to over $50M annually, leading to an acquisition by ShoreTel (NASDAQ: SHOR). Brian lives in NY with his wife, 2 children and dog.

Anne Papageorge is the Senior Vice President for Facilities and Real Estate Services at the

University of Pennsylvania. Anne joined the University in October 2006 and has responsibility

for Planning; Design and Construction; Facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Utilities; and

Real Estate Operations and Development. She oversees a department of approximately 1,000

staff, $200 M in operating expenses and a capital budget averaging approximately $350 M per

year, the Penn Connects campus development plan, and the Environmental Sustainability

Advisory Committee responsible for developing and implementing the Climate and

Sustainability Action Plan for the university.

Anne is a licensed landscape architect and was previously the Senior Vice President and

Memorial Design Director for the Lower Manhattan Development Corp., managing the planning,

design and construction of the nearly $1 billion project encompassing the World Trade Center

Memorial, Memorial Museum, Visitor’s Center and related facilities.

Prior to joining the LMDC in 2004, she worked in design and construction for the City of New

York, where she served as first deputy commissioner of the Department of Design and

Construction, managing a staff of 1,200 and overseeing 750 projects valued at $4.4 billion.

Anne holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the State University of New York

College of Environmental Science and Forestry School of Landscape Architecture and an

M.B.A. from the City University of New York Baruch College. She serves on the executive

boards for Longwood Gardens, the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, the

University City Science Center, and the Schuylkill River Development Corporation; she also

serves on the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team.

Stephen Behrle, Jr. is the Executive Vice President of Development for GMH Communities. Steve is responsible for sourcing and evaluating new development opportunities for GMH. Additionally, Steve is responsible for overseeing the entitlement and design process, structuring debt and equity financing for property transactions, and managing all phases of the development and construction process. Steve brings over 20 years of commercial real estate experience to his current role at GMH. Since joining GMH in 2000, Steve has overseen the acquisition and development of over $1 billion of residential and commercial properties.

Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from Pennsylvania State University in 1997

Mr. Commito joined Brandywine in 2012 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Development. He has over 30 years of experience in the real estate development and construction industry. Prior to joining Brandywine, Mr. Commito was Chief Operating Officer of ACS Development Corporation, a Boston area real estate development, construction, and management firm. Mr. Commito’s previous experience includes the positions of Senior Vice President at AMC Delancey Group, Inc., and Assistant Vice President and Director of Acquisitions and Development for the Urban Division of Toll Brothers, Inc., where he was responsible for several of the company’s largest urban master-planned communities, including Naval Square in Philadelphia, PA and Maxwell Place in Hoboken, NJ.

Mr. Commito is an Officer and the Governance Chair of the Philadelphia District Council of the Urban Land Institute. He is also a member of the founding committee of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, and assists in an advisory role with Habitat for Humanity in Trenton, NJ.

Mr. Commito received his MBA from Western New England University, graduated magna cum laude from Boston College, and is a graduate of The Governor’s Academy.

Elizabeth Mahon is the Managing Principal of HDR’s Philadelphia office. HDR, one of the top 5 global architectural and engineering firms with 40 architectural offices worldwide and 1,800 members in the architecture group, has a Philadelphia practice that is focused on healthcare, academic and civic projects that include the new Patient Pavilion for Penn Medicine and the Brandywine Realty Trust mixed-use towers rising at Schuylkill Yards adjacent to 30th Street Station. Prior to joining HDR, Elizabeth’s career has included work in major civic, academic and institutional projects at IM Pei and Partners in Paris, William Rawn Associates in Boston, and Ballinger in Philadelphia. Elizabeth attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a BA in Design of the Environment and a BS from the Wharton School, and Yale University, where she received a Master of Architecture.
