Jefferson Health

Baligh R. Yehia is a nationally recognized physician leader who is passionate about community health and reducing health inequities.

Dr. Yehia currently leads operations for Jefferson Health’s 18 hospitals and more than 50 outpatient and urgent care locations throughout

Pennsylvania and South Jersey. Additionally, he works collaboratively with enterprise leaders to enhance patient care, promote clinician

engagement, and drive growth across the health system.

In January 2023, Dr. Yehia joined Jefferson from Ascension, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems, where he served as Senior Vice

President and President of Ascension Medical Group (AMG). In these roles, he led system-wide health operations and high-priority initiatives,

including population health, pharmacy services, behavioral health, virtual care and graduate medical education. He was also responsible for

building and growing clinical programs and advancing quality, safety, patient experience and clinical engagement for AMG, whose nearly 9,000

clinicians serve more than 3.5 million individuals annually.

Previously, Dr. Yehia served in leadership roles at Johns Hopkins Medicine, the University of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Department of Veterans

Affairs (VA). During his tenure at the VA, he served on the senior leadership team and was the first VA Deputy under Secretary for Health for

Community Care. In this capacity, he oversaw VA’s Community Care Network which included more than 550,000 partners that deliver

outpatient, inpatient, telehealth and extended care services to more than 2 million veterans annually.

Dr. Yehia is trained in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He earned his Bachelor of Science and medical degrees from the University of Florida. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his Infectious Diseases fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Dr. Yehia earned his Master of Public Policy from Princeton University and Master of Science in Health Policy Research from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Yehia has published over 150 articles, abstracts and chapters in top healthcare journals, providing insight on patient engagement in healthcare and factors that influence access to care. He has served on numerous boards and councils, and is a former member of the American Medical Association Council on Medical Education, Primary Care Collaborative Board of Directors, and the Maryland State Medical Society Board of Trustees. Over the years, he has been recognized by Modern Healthcare, Becker's Healthcare, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians as a top leader in health

During his career in commercial real estate, Jeffrey has managed strategic planning and transactional

financing for clients consisting of high- net-worth individuals and corporations throughout the United

States, Europe and the Middle East. For the past 18 years he has primarily focused on projects involving

single-tenant commercial office; special purpose medical; and age-targeted developments, facilitating

and directing several hundred million dollars’ worth of successful projects.

In his role as a Partner at Mediplex Property Group, Jeffrey focuses on developing strategic relationships

with health systems, independent physician network practices, institutions, and municipalities that

comprise the company’s core competencies, and are the backbone of the Company’s successful growth

and expansion plans.

Jeffrey holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s Degree from

Charles “Chick” Atkins is a Principal at West Orange, N.J.-based Atkins Companies, one of the nation’s

most successful multigenerational healthcare real estate developers, investors and property managers.

Over his decades-long career, Chick has played an integral role in Atkins Companies’ development,

acquisition and management of over 2 million square feet of healthcare real estate spaces. His work has

helped to support increased access to critical healthcare services in many of the most competitive and

complex real estate markets in the United States.

Chick’s deep experience in the development, acquisition and management of medical office properties

has positioned him as one of the nation’s leading healthcare real estate experts.

He is a graduate of the University of Virginia-McIntyre School of Commerce.

Ben Appel is an Executive Managing Director with Newmark’s Healthcare Capital Markets Group, specializing in the sale of, and equity placement for, medical office buildings, physician and hospital monetization, re-capitalizations and joint venture equity, and running developer selection processes.

Appel has 14 years of experience and has advised on medical office and healthcare real estate transactions of more than $10.0 billion. His clients include core funds, public and private REITs, pension fund advisors, developers, family offices, healthcare systems, fund managers and private equity firms.

John Nero serves as Senior Managing Director of Newmark’s Healthcare Capital Markets Group. Based in Newmark’s New York headquarters, Nero works on a variety of healthcare real estate engagements, including real estate portfolio monetizations, asset sales and financings, debt and equity placements and development advisory on behalf of healthcare provider and institutional investor clients. As part of his role, Nero leads the debt capital markets initiative for the healthcare capital markets practice, specializing in acquisition, construction and refinancing facilities for borrowers in the healthcare sector.

Nero has worked with a wide range of client types, including healthcare systems, hospitals, REITs, and private real estate investment and development firms. His experience with healthcare real estate spans a broad range of asset classes, including medical office buildings, seniors housing and post-acute care facilities, among others.

Nero joined Newmark in 2019 from Hammond Hanlon Camp, LLC, a strategic advisory and investment banking firm focused on the healthcare sector. As Director of Hammond Hanlon Camp’s real estate group, Nero focused on single-asset and portfolio monetizations, developer selections, private equity and debt placements, refinancings, and mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Previously, Nero spent five years with Morgan Keegan and Co., where he worked in the firm’s healthcare real estate investment banking group. He began his real estate career at Wells Fargo Bank in their commercial real estate lending group.

Nero is a FINRA licensed investment banking professional, holding Series 7 and 63 designations.

Chichi Ahia

Chichi is the Executive Director, Principal and Broker of Record of SVN Ahia Commercial Real Estate, primarily serving the markets of Eastern Pennsylvania and Central through Southern New Jersey. He is a licensed real estate broker in 6 states.

Prior to his affiliation with SVN he served as the Executive Director of the regional division of a nationally-branded, full service, commercial real estate services firm. He is a consistent multi-million dollar producer and has won numerous sales and performance awards. He currently ranks in the top 1% in production among SVN Advisors internationally.

He has been honored by Philadelphia Magazine as one of the top Real Estate Brokers in the Suburban Philadelphia market, ranking in the top 5% in client satisfaction from 2010 through 2020. In 2014 He was recognized as one of America's Most Honored Professionals by the American Registry.

Additionally, he holds the prestigious SIOR designation and serves on the board of directors as President of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, the leading professional commercial and industrial real estate association. The SIOR designation is conferred upon commercial real estate practitioners who represent the industry's most knowledgeable, experienced, and successful commercial real estate specialists. Chichi currently resides in Bucks County with his wife, Sabrina, their four daughters and identical twin sons. In his "free time" he works on business development and training and mentoring professionals starting businesses. He currently serves as chairman of the board of directors for a regional financial institution and in an advisory role to a number of business organizations. He is also active in his church and plays several musical instruments at a professional level of proficiency. He and Sabrina love to travel and spend time with family.

Allison P. Wilson-Maher is the Vice President of Real Estate, Design and Construction at Penn

Medicine, where she oversees and manages the organization’s 17 million square foot real estate

platform. She leads a staff of more than 50 to deliver excellent project management, planning and

real estate advisory services to clients across the system, including development and

implementation of overarching real estate strategy, design and construction of renovation and de

novo development projects, and real estate portfolio acquisition and disposition. Allison collaborates

with professionals and leadership of both the Perelman School of Medicine and The University of

Pennsylvania to deliver integrated and complementary real estate solutions enterprise-wide.

Also an alumna of the University, Allison holds a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate

from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. She graduated summa cum laude, first honor

graduate, with highest honors from The University of Georgia, where she received her Bachelor of

Arts degree in Journalism.

Allison is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, where she served as Regent

for Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey for three years. She received ACHE of

Greater Philadelphia’s Administrative Achievement Award in 2015 (formerly Healthcare Leadership

Network of the Delaware Valley) and its Senior Level Leadership award in 2025. Allison currently

serves on the Board of Trustees of The Grayson School.

Julie Herb

As Vice President of Facilities Development, Julie Herb oversees all design and development,

construction, and real estate for Virtua Health. Virtua is South Jersey’s largest health system with five

hospitals and approximately 300 additional locations throughout the region. Having worked on a

multitude of projects and negotiations over her career, including the region’s first Proton Therapy

Center, Julie’s current responsibilities include executive oversight for care transformation initiatives at

Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Virtua Mount Holly Hospital.

Over the past twenty-five years, Julie has proven to be an industry leader in the health care real estate

and development space. Among the many accomplishments throughout her leadership journey, Julie

has led the facilities efforts for the Epic transformation across the multi-hospital system, the integration

of numerous properties from acquisition activities, the disposition of facilities from a variety of

initiatives, as well as oversight of billions of dollars of capital construction, renovation, and

infrastructure projects. Julie continues to work on facility master planning activities for Virtua, as well as

countless strategic initiatives which will position Virtua well for many years into the future.

As a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and the Business Management Program of the Wharton

School of the University of Pennsylvania, Julie holds a professional designation with the Counselors of

Real Estate, serving as Chapter Treasurer, and is also a Member of the Board of Trustees with Oaks

Integrated Care. Julie was recently appointed as a Board Member and Secretary of Association of

Medical Facility Professionals Philadelphia.

With over 20 years of healthcare experience as both a designer and lead planner, Laura strives to bring a holistic approach to each project. Her expertise in design coupled with her leadership help guide teams to successful outcomes for her clients. As a practice leader for Perkins & Will’s New York Studio, Laura is responsible for mentoring staff and allowing them to meet their goals and vision for the future of healthcare design. Laura helps lead clients through all stages of design development, understanding the impacts of evidenced based design while meeting the client’s vision for their projects. As a LEED accredited professional, Laura has been involved with designing LEED Platinum healthcare facilities, numerous outpatient renovations and new construction as well as working with clients such as Children’s National Medical Center, Inspira Health Network and NewYork-Presbyterian. Past clients include the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, Einstein Healthcare Network and Mount Sinai Health System. Laura is a licensed designer with a bachelor’s in Interior Design from Texas Tech University.

JoAnn Magnatta, Senior Vice President of Facilities Design and Construction/Real Estate at

Main Line Health, has served in Senior Healthcare positions for more than 25 years. She joined

Main Line Health in 2001, and in her role she oversees the design, construction and maintenance

of over 7 million square feet of real estate. She is also responsible for the acquisition,

disposition, development and management of all real estate operations, maintenance and

engineering services, system security operations and emergency preparedness.

Prior to joining Main Line Health, JoAnn served as Corporate Vice President of Real Estate

Services and Facilities at Continuum Health System, a five hospital, Manhattan based Health

System, Vice President, Facilities and Real Estate for Tenet Healthcare and Vice President of

Operations for Allegheny Health.

JoAnn is a member of several local, regional and national organizations, including Commercial

Real Estate for Women (CREW), the Executive Forum of Women, the Board of Trustees of

LaSalle University, the Dean’s Advisory Council for Villanova University’s College of Liberal

Arts & Sciences and the Board of Trustees of the American Heart Association from 2012 to

2018.

Ms. Orsini joined Cooper University Health Care in 2020. In her role, she oversees planning, design and construction for the health system. Prior to joining Cooper, Ms. Orsini was the Vice President of Design and Construction for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She has worked in hospital project management for more than 18 years. She is on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Chapter of Professional Women in Construction acting as the Learning Committee liaison and on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Medical Facility Professionals acting as the Treasurer.

Ms. Orsini holds a dual bachelor of science in architectural and civil engineering from Drexel University and a master of health administration from Rutgers University, Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. She is a registered professional engineer in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Jodi Rennie is vice president and general manager of Turner’s Pittsburgh office and is responsible for the general management and operations of Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Jodi provides executive-level leadership and management, establishing communication protocols, overseeing staff development, and supervising risk evaluation, contract negotiations and pricing decisions.

Jodi is a graduate of Rutgers University and joined Turner in 1987 working on various assignments during her career. In 2015 she was named vice president and in 2017 became the vice president and general manager of the Pittsburgh Office.

Jodi sits on the Board of Directors for the Master Builders' Association of Western Pennsylvania (MBA).

Kyle Terry has more than 12 years of experience as a structural engineer specializing in healthcare facilities. He has worked on a wide range of projects including: the new RWJBH; Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey Cancer Pavilion, Main Line Health Lankenau Medical Center Emergency Department Expansion, CHOP Hub for Clinical Collaboration, Jefferson Cherry Hill ; Washington Township Hospital Expansions, and numerous others. In his role, Kyle maintains client contact, coordinates with both internal and external team members, assists with internal scheduling and project staffing, performs and oversees overall completion of project deliverables and quality requirements, and manages the financial aspects of projects. He is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey and a member of the Association of Medical Facility Professionals, American Society of Civil Engineers, Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers, and Urban Land Institute.
