Philadelphia's Multifamily Take Off

Mike Schlegel is President of Bozzuto Construction Company, the general contracting division of The Bozzuto Group. Since joining the company in 1999, Mike has overseen the construction of more than 20,000 multifamily units and over 1 million square feet of retail, along with public and private infrastructure projects with an aggregate contract value exceeding $3 billion. Prior to joining Bozzuto Construction Company, he was a Vice President with Clark Builders Group. Mike serves on the Board of Directors for the Housing Association of Non-Profit Developers (HAND), Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP), the Maryland Center for Construction Education & Innovation, and the Virginia Tech Myers-Lawson School of Construction. He holds a bachelor’s degree in building construction from Virginia Tech, lives in Bethesda with his wife and two children, and is an avid skier and mountain biker.

John Gaghan, Senior Vice President of Lowe Enterprises Investors, responsible for acquisition and portfolio management of residential and commercial assets in the firm’s separate accounts and joint ventures. Responsibilities include oversight of annual asset and portfolio strategic plans focused on optimizing investment performance, asset dispositions and debt financing as well as sourcing new investment opportunities. Previously Mr. Gaghan was responsible for residential, senior housing and medical office acquisitions for Grosvenor Fund Management. While at Grosvenor Mr. Gaghan managed a $100 million residential investment fund which focused on distressed for-sale condominium and single-family communities. Prior to Grosvenor, Mr. Gaghan served as a real estate lending officer at National City Bank, Mellon Bank and Wells Fargo. Education: Franklin and Marshall College, BA; St. Joseph’s University, MBA. As Executive Vice President of Madison Apartment Group, Greg Curci oversees all operations of Equus Capital Partners’ national apartment portfolio as well as the firm’s investment management efforts. To date, he has been directly responsible for successfully executing the acquisition and disposition of approximately $2 billion of multifamily investments nationwide on behalf of the firm's investment partnerships and funds. Greg also assists in the evaluation, design, and stabilization of the firm's multifamily development opportunities. During his 13-year tenure at Equus, Greg has held multiple responsibilities including the acquisition, redevelopment, and asset management of commercial office, retail, and residential properties throughout the U.S. Prior to joining Equus, he was a Vice President and Foreign Currency Trader at Mizuho Capital Markets Group in New York City. Greg holds a B.A. in Japanese Language and International Economics from Connecticut College and an M.B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the East Falls Development Corporation where he serves as Chair of its Real Estate Committee. He also is a member of the Board of Advisors for Roman Catholic High School.
