Dave is a Managing Director at Green Street Advisors, a preeminent provider of real estate and REIT research in North America and Europe. He leads the firm's strategic research, which focuses on topics across property sectors in the public and private markets. Previously, Dave led the firm’s residential research encompassing the apartment, single-family rental, student housing, manufactured housing, and self-storage sectors, and helped build the firm’s proprietary single-family rental database. Recent strategic research includes "Transportation Revolution," a report detailing the significant expected impact of driverless cars and ride-hailing services on all real estate sectors, "Regulation – The Barrier That Matters," and a series of reports outlining the potential implications of comprehensive tax reform on real estate. Dave is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has been quoted widely in the financial media, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg, Grant’s Interest Rate Observer and Barron's. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), and National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC). Prior to joining Green Street in 2013, Dave developed and led the REIT research effort at Zelman & Associates. Before that, he was a member of the REIT teams at ISI Group and Merrill Lynch. Dave earned an M.A. in International Business from the University of Florida, and a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University.

Sue has been involved in real estate finance for over 20 years in a variety of roles. With TCR since 2004, Sue oversees debt and equity financing for TCR’s new developments in the Western United States. In addition, she oversees asset management and dispositions for TCR’s remaining West Coast operating properties and land holdings. Prior to joining TCR, Sue was a Vice President and Manager of the National Accounts group at Bank of the West, where she originated and managed loans for for-sale residential, apartment, retail, office, industrial and land/land development projects. Earlier, Sue served as a Vice President at Citicorp, in the Commercial Real Estate Group, and was involved in loan work-outs, asset disposition (OREO and loans) and investment banking. Sue graduated from Claremont McKenna College and earned her MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Timothy J. Ballard is a Co-Founder and the President of Buchanan Street Partners. In his

tenure at Buchanan, Mr. Ballard has led the entrepreneurial development of Buchanan’s

investment business, which has completed over $6 billion of real estate debt and

equity investments. Over the past 18 years at Buchanan, Ballard has built a focused

investment platform that currently operates $1 billion in real estate assets in the Western

United States.

Mr. Ballard has overall responsibility for Buchanan’s investment strategy on behalf of the

multiple funds and separate accounts that Buchanan manages for the purpose of making

core-plus and value-added real estate investments. These funds manage assets of public

pension plans, life insurance companies, corporate pension funds and high-net- worth

investors.

Mr. Ballard has 27 years of real estate experience and holds dual degrees from the

University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School in Economics and Real Estate

Finance. His professional affiliations include YPO, PREA and NAIOP; and he serves on the

Board of Directors for Buchanan Children’s Charities.

Gary S. McKitterick is a career real estate lawyer handling some of the largest and most complex real estate transactions in the country. Gary is a partner in the firm's Orange County office and is the former Vice-Chair of Allen Matkins Real Estate Practice Group. He handles real estate transactions of all sizes on a national basis representing large technology companies and office, retail, industrial, medical and residential developers and investors in a wide range of projects. Gary has been selected as one of the top real estate lawyers in America by Best Lawyers in America from 2003 to 2016.

Public and privately held companies rely on Gary to structure and negotiate complex transactions. For example, he was the lead lawyer for the acquisition of a skyscraper in Chicago that was, at the time, the largest single asset transaction in the history of Chicago. He also handled one of the largest land transactions in the history of California when Gary structured the sale of over 437,000 acres of land to the Bureau of Land Management and a private conservancy.

In the last two years alone, Gary has structured development, acquisition, disposition and investment deals valued at more than $4.8 billion. Gary is also involved in active construction projects with total project costs of more than $2.25 billion.

Gary is one of the leading transactional development and construction experts on the West Coast and has authored a chapter on construction management issues for Mathew Bender. He has lectured on construction matters for graduate schools at USC, UCLA and UCI and has written numerous articles covering such subjects as "Organizing and Planning a Project" and "The Role of Construction and Development Management."

Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Managements (IREM)

and Turnaround Management Association (TMA). Mr. Fink is a licensed real estate

broker in the state of California, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a

Certified Property Manager (CPM), a Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA),

and a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP). He has appeared as a guest speaker at

various functions, including those for the Urban Land Institute, University of California

Los Angeles and Irvine, University of Southern California, and other assorted industry

events. Mr. Fink previously served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Real

Estate Alumni Association and is currently a member of the USC Lusk Center for Real

Estate Executive Committee.  He has previously served on the board for the Young

Presidents Organization (YPO) California Coast chapter and is currently a member of the

World Presidents Organization (WPO).

In 2004, Mr. Fink was awarded the Apartment Executive of the Year by the Real Estate

Conference Group, the industry's largest and most prestigious multifamily conference

on the West Coast, and was later awarded the Rising Star award by the University of

California Irvine Center for Real Estate in 2008. Mr. Fink was also recognized in the 2011

Multi-Family Executive Magazine. In 2016, Mr. Fink was awarded the Ernst & Young

Entrepreneur of the Year, Orange County.

Robert Durand

As executive vice president of financing for KBS, Mr. Durand is responsible for overseeing the KBS financing team, developing lending relationships, and negotiating the financing for all KBS real estate assets. Mr. Durand is also a member of the Investment Committee, where he applies his twenty years of commercial real estate experience to the evaluation and approval of all new investment opportunities for the company.

Prior to joining KBS, Mr. Durand was a vice president in JP Morgan Real Estate’s CMBS group and was responsible for the origination, structuring and negotiation of CMBS, construction, bridge and mezzanine loans. He also spent more than 10 years at Babson Capital Management, a subsidiary of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, most recently as a managing director charged with sourcing, underwriting and closing commercial real estate loans. Mr. Durand’s transaction experience totals more than $10 billion and includes office, industrial, retail, multifamily and hotel properties, fixed- and floating-rate loan structures, first trust deed, mezzanine/structured finance, bridge loans and large portfolio financings.

Mr. Durand is a native of Southern California and holds an economics degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has also been awarded the CCIM designation, is a NAIOP member, and serves on the Orange County ULI Capital Markets Initiative Council.

John Waldeck

Mr. Waldeck began his career at Pacific Life in 1997 as a network support analyst in the Real Estate Division, following four years of experience as a computer systems consultant. In 1998, Mr. Waldeck transferred to the real estate underwriting group. In 2005, he was promoted to director and was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Real Estate Underwriting in 2006. In March 2008, Mr. Waldeck was named Vice President, Real Estate Underwriting & Construction Services.

In 2012, Mr. Waldeck was named Managing Director, Commercial Mortgage Investments. In this role, he provides direction and support to the underwriting, analysis, and structuring processes for real estate debt investments. Mr. Waldeck has oversight for the training and development program for investment analysts and coordinators. He is also responsible for the division’s documentation, implementation, and maintenance of commercial mortgage underwriting guidelines.

Jeremy Griffin

Mr. Griffin is a Director in the Commercial Property Group (“CPG”) based in California and

oversees investment and asset management in the Western part of the US. Since joining Rialto

Capital Management, LLC in 2011, Mr. Griffin has been involved in over $2 billion of direct real

estate investments and financings across all property types. In addition to leading West Coast

acquisitions, Mr. Griffin manages Rialto’s asset-level financing activities on new acquisitions and

oversees Rialto’s multifamily investing strategy across various investment vehicles, nationwide.

Prior to assuming his most recent role in April 2017, Mr. Griffin was based in Rialto’s NY office

and was responsible for sourcing, underwriting and structuring debt and equity investments

across the firm’s various real estate funds & separate accounts. Mr. Griffin joined Rialto in the

Summer of 2011 upon obtaining his MBA in real estate and finance from Columbia Business

School. During his time at Columbia, Mr. Griffin interned at JP Morgan as an Associate in the

Real Estate Investment Banking Group. Prior to attending Columbia Business School, from

2005 to 2009, Mr. Griffin worked in various capacities at Macerich, a major mall REIT located in

Santa Monica, CA including directing the leasing activities at a 700,000 square foot regional

mall in West Los Angeles and co-managing the leasing strategy for the $300 million

redevelopment of Santa Monica Place, a luxury mall located in Santa Monica, CA. Mr. Griffin is

a graduate of UCLA with a BA in International Relations.

Farmers & Merchants Bank (F&M), a specialist in commercial banking and small business lending, has named Kathy Reed the new Senior Vice President, Regional Relationship Manager of the Newport Beach and Corona del Mar branches. Reed brings with her more than 25 years of banking experience.

Prior to joining F&M, Reed served as Director and Commercial Mortgage Operations Portfolio Manager for MUFG Union Bank, N.A, where she served as a sales manager for the organization's refinance division, with a focus on loan retention and relationship expansion. She was also responsible for asset management of the division's portfolio of multifamily and commercial real estate loans. Additionally, Reed is the former owner of Apex Financial, a consulting firm that she founded and operated; Director of Business Process for The Situs Companies; Vice President of Commercial Real Estate for Fremont Investment and Loan; and Commissioned Bank Examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

"Kathy is a highly accomplished banking professional with a great deal of real estate knowledge in the Bank's target markets," said Phil Bond, Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer. In her new position, Reed will oversee lending and relationship management for both the Corona del Mar and Newport Beach branches. She will also be responsible for overall growth, quality of the loan portfolio and related deposits. Her goal is to ensure all customers and prospects receive service levels that exceed expectations by providing onsite decision making for fast answers.

The University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse alumni, currently resides in Laguna Beach with her husband of 23 years, Roderick, and two boys, Mason (18) and Jack (15). She has been active in Boy Scouts for 12 years, most recently serving as Chairwoman of Troop 35, Laguna Beach. Both of her sons are Eagle Scouts. Reed is a volunteer for local charities and school causes. She is an active member of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and The Urban Land Institute (ULI) where she sits on the Office and Commercial Initiative Council.
