Susan L. Solomon is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute, the world’s leading independent non-profit research institute dedicated to translating cutting- edge stem cell research into clinical breakthroughs and cures for patients.

A veteran healthcare advocate, Ms. Solomon serves on the boards of a number of prominent diabetes and regenerative medicine organizations including the College Diabetes Network and the Global Alliance for IPSC Therapies. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Regional Plan Association. Ms. Solomon has received numerous awards for her work with NYSCF, including the New York State Women of Excellence Award from the Governor of New York, the Triumph Award from the Brooke Ellison Foundation, and recognition as a Living Landmark from the New York Landmarks Conservancy.

A lawyer by training and a chief executive and entrepreneur by experience, Ms. Solomon has decades of leadership experience in starting and building effective and focused organizations. Ms. Solomon started her career as an attorney at Debevoise & Plimpton, then held executive positions at MacAndrews and Forbes and APAX (formerly MMG Patricof and Co.). She was the founder and President of Sony Worldwide Networks, the Chairman and CEO of Lancit Media Productions, an Emmy award-winning television production company, and then served as the founding CEO of Sothebys.com, prior to starting her own strategic management consulting firm Solomon Partners LLC in 2000.

Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the President of The John A. Hartford Foundation in New York City, a foundation dedicated to improving the care of older adults. Established in 1929, the Foundation has a current endowment of more than half a billion dollars. She serves as the chief strategist for the Foundation and was recently recognized for her leadership as one of the top 50 Influencers in Aging by PBS’s Next Avenue, the premier digital publication dedicated to covering issues for older Americans. Dr. Fulmer is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine. She previously served as Distinguished Professor and Dean of Health Sciences at Northeastern University. Prior to that, she served as the Erline Perkins McGriff Professor and Dean of the New York University College of Nursing. She received her bachelor's degree from Skidmore College, her master's and doctoral degrees from Boston College and her Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Post-Master’s Certificate from NYU. She completed a Brookdale National Fellowship and she was the first nurse to serve on the board of the American Geriatrics Society and was the first nurse to serve as President of the Gerontological Society of America.

Dr. Fulmer is nationally and internationally recognized as a leading expert in geriatrics and is best known for conceptualization and development of the national NICHE program and research on the topic of elder abuse and neglect, work that has been funded by the National Institute on Aging and the National Institute of Nursing Research. She is a Trustee for the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, Springer Publishing Company, the Bassett Healthcare System, and is co-chair of the National Academy of Medicine’s Forum on Aging, Disability, and Independence. She previously served as the Chair of the National Advisory Committee for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellows Program, and held board positions at Skidmore College, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the Geriatrics and Gerontology Advisory Committee for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Advisory Board for Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Nursing. She is the recipient of prestigious awards, including the 2017 American Society on Aging Rosalie S. Wolf Award for her body of work on elder abuse. In 2016, she received the 2016 Award for Exceptional Service to The New York Academy of Medicine for her distinguished service on the Academy’s Board of Trustees, including as vice-chair and for her active engagement in the policy work of the Academy, especially its Age-friendly NYC initiative. She has been honored with invitations for named lectureships from noted universities. She has held faculty appointments at Columbia University, where she was the Anna C. Maxwell Chair in Nursing, and she has also held appointments at Boston College, Yale University, and the Harvard Division on Aging at Harvard Medical School. She has served as a visiting professor of nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and Case Western Reserve University.

She is a Distinguished Practitioner of the National Academies of Practice and currently an attending nurse and senior nurse in the Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital and an attending nurse at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC. Her clinical appointments have included the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, the Massachusetts General Hospital, and the NYU Langone Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, the Gerontological Society of America, and the New York Academy of Medicine where she served as vice-chair. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed papers and edited 10 books.

Daniel founded McKinsey’s provider performance improvements advanced analytics team, now with over 30 consultants delivering advanced analytics and expert-based consulting to McKinsey’s clients. He also is a leader of the healthcare and real estate practice Joint Venture.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

· Supporting performance transformation and digital enablement for a top-three US-based health system designed to improve financial performance and operational processes, as well as modernize service operations using digital enablement

·Leading a capital expenditure effectiveness diagnostic and implementation for one of the largest and leading US academic medical centers, identifying opportunities to improve capital efficiency

Daniel speaks around the world on health system operations with an emphasis on the evolving healthcare system and supply chain and has published various articles on health system operations topics such as medical equipment optimization, pharmacy, and design and construction optimization.

Dr. Gordon Tomaselli became dean at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and executive vice president and chief academic officer at Montefiore Medicine in July 2018. He is an expert in the fields of sudden cardiac death and arrhythmias. Dr. Tomaselli’s research focuses on ion channel structure, function and remodeling. His lab has been continuously funded by the NIH for over 25 years. He holds several patents on methods to improve heart function and prevent arrhythmias, including an implantable device for the delivery of cell-derived biomolecules.

Dr. Tomaselli came to Einstein from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, whose faculty he joined in 1989. In 2009, he was named chief of the division of cardiology, managing a budget of nearly $30 million while overseeing a staff of more than 550, including 101 faculty members and 87 fellows. He also was mentor to dozens of postdoctoral and clinical fellows, as well as graduate and undergraduate students. While at Hopkins, he was the Michel Mirowski, M.D. Professor of Cardiology, and professor of medicine and of cellular and molecular medicine.

He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his medical degree from Einstein. He completed his medical training, residency and research fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco. He was then a clinical and research fellow in cardiovascular medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

He was elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation in 1996 and has been a member of the Association of American Physicians since 2010. He has served on the editorial boards of a number of journals in Cardiovascular Science and Medicine and has been a member of study sections for the NIH, AHA, California Tobacco Research Fund and a member of review panels for grants from a number of organizations including DFG, INSERM and CIRM. Dr. Tomaselli was president of the American Heart Association from 2011 to 2012. He was editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Investigation from 2017 to 2018, and is now the journal’s deputy editor.

Charles B. Simone, II, MD, FACRO is a Research Professor and the Chief Medical Officer of the New York Proton Center and a Full Member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He is an internationally recognized expert in using proton therapy to treat thoracic malignancies and for reirradiation, and in developing clinical trials and innovative research in thoracic radiation oncology and stereotactic body radiation therapy.

Prior to coming to NYPC, Dr. Simone was Chief of the Thoracic Oncology Service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Director of the Penn Mesothelioma and Pleural Program, and Director of Clinical Research and Operations in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Penn. He was then appointed Medical Director of the Maryland Proton Treatment Center, and at University of Maryland, he also served as Chair of the Clinical Research Committee for their Comprehensive Cancer Center, proton therapy Fellowship Director, and Director of the Stereotactic Radiation Therapy Program. He completed his undergraduate and medical school training at University of Pennsylvania and residency in radiation oncology at the National Cancer Institute, NIH, where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Simone is a National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, and Department of Defense funded investigator who has published >315 scientific articles and chapters, given >200 scientific lectures to national and international audiences, and is the national Principal Investigator or Co-Chair of 7 NIH-funded cooperative group trials (4 NRG Oncology, 1 SWOG, 1 ECOG-ACRIN, 1 PCG). He is a three-time Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology Educator of the Year Award winner. Dr. Simone Chairs the Proton Collaborative Group (PCG) Executive Committee; PCG Lung Committee; ASTRO Lung Resource Panel Committee; ACRO Recruitment Subcommittee; and NCI/Radiosurgery Society GRID-Lattice-Microbeam-Flash Radiotherapy Clinical Working Group. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Palliative Medicine.

Nisan is a licensed architect whose background includes two decades of experience in healthcare design and construction. He has earned a reputation as one of the most creative and strategic minds in the industry, having established leading practices in healthcare development management that are used by organizations throughout the country. With specializations in clinical, research, and care delivery facilities in the healthcare real estate market, Nisan has experience in master planning, project design and development, construction and contract administration. Having managed some of the largest healthcare projects on the east coast, proving time and again his ability to expertly guide projects no matter the complexity.

Steve joined LaSalle in 2000 to establish the firm’s US medical office investment practice. He has overseen the acquisition of medical office investments valued at over $2 billion made on behalf of the Medical Office Fund series, LaSalle Property Fund, JLLIPT and various custom accounts.

Before joining LaSalle, Steve served as Senior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer of Healthcare Financial Partners REIT where he oversaw investments in medical office buildings, assisted living facilities and nursing homes.

Steve holds a BSc in Finance from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has also completed extensive coursework in real estate valuation through the Appraisal Institute.

Natalie Sproull works on Medical Office/Medical Property transactions origination at Capital One Healthcare. She began at GE Capital, now Capital One, and has experience originating, structuring, underwriting, and managing healthcare real estate transactions. During this time, she has led the underwriting of 50+ healthcare real estate transactions totaling over $1BN in volume. She graduated from the University of Iowa and resides in Chicago, IL.

David is a Managing Director in JLL’s New York office. He joined as part of the HFF acquisition and has more than 17 years of experience in commercial real estate and finance. He specializes in office and industrial investment sale transactions throughout the New York area and equity placement assignments within the Northeast. Throughout his career, David has completed more than $10 billion of real estate transactions and is presently engaged in raising joint venture capital for approximately $1 billion of life science development/repositioning opportunities.

David joined the firm (through its predecessor company, HFF) in 2016. Prior to joining HFF, he served as a Managing Director in the capital markets/investment sales group at Cushman & Wakefield (f/k/a Cassidy Turley & DTZ). Prior to that, he spent considerable time in the principal investment arena at West-River Capital and Heitman and was a member of the global investment sales group at DTZ Rockwood, where he oversaw the company’s expansion into Latin America and the Middle East.

David is an active participant in the Urban Land Institute and serves as a member of the leadership team of the Bronze flight of the Urban Development and Mixed-Use Product Council. He is also a sustaining member of the Zell-Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School and Columbia University’s Real Estate Roundtable. He holds an MBA with a dual concentration in Real Estate and Finance from Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

As Chief Investment Officer & Managing Partner for Anchor Health Properties, James is responsible for the firm's acquisitions efforts, capital markets activities, and investor relationship management, in addition to supporting the sourcing of new development and property management opportunities. Under James’ leadership the firm has closed on $1.6 billion of new investments since June 2016.

Prior to joining Anchor, James led the efforts at CNL Financial Group to build and manage the CNL Healthcare Properties medical facilities investment platform to over four million square feet of assets across the country. The CNL Healthcare medical facilities platform was sold to Welltower (NYSE: WELL) for approximately $1.5 billion in 2019. James has also spent time in key real estate investment roles at HCP in Long Beach, CA and UBS in New York City.

James received his BA (Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa) and MBA from Columbia University in New York City and has also studied at Pembroke College, Oxford University in England. He is a founding officer of the ULI Healthcare & Life Sciences Product Council, and a member of the Board of Advisors for the Healthcare Real Estate Insights publication.

Woody Heller is vice chairman and co-head of the Capital Markets Group of Savills in New York. With over 38 years of experience in the real estate business, he is responsible for investment sales activity in the New York market, where he focuses on office, residential, specialty retail buildings, and development sites. Some of his more notable sales include: Citigroup Center at 54th Street and Lexington Avenue, The Madison Belvedere apartment building at 10 East 29th Street, the Rhinelander Mansion leased to Polo Ralph Lauren at 72nd Street and Madison, and the Drake Hotel development site at 432 Park Avenue. The other markets in which he has been active include Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, and markets in New Jersey, Florida, Ohio and Indiana.

Separate from the outright sale of properties, Woody has also structured participating and/or convertible mortgages, equity joint ventures, the sale of partial interests, equity recapitalizations and note sales, the most prominent of which was the sale of the notes and mortgage encumbering the Chrysler Building. During his tenure, he has closed in excess of $12 billion of asset and note sale transactions comprising in excess of 48 million square feet.

Prior to joining the firm, Woody worked for CBRE, Insignia/ESG and Jones Lang LaSalle.

In 2013, Woody was the recipient of the REBNY Louis Smadbeck Broker Recognition Award. In 2007, he was awarded the Real Estate Board’s ‘Most Ingenious Deal of the Year’ for the sale of the New York Law School Development Site in Tribeca, a transaction that closed in 2006. Woody also received this distinction in 2004 for the sale of McGraw Hill’s 45% C-Corp Interest in 1221 Avenue of the Americas.

Woody also serves as a governor of The Real Estate Board of New York and co-chairs its sales brokers committee. He is a member of the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association and is a fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Woody was on the Manhattan Community Board for five years and served on its new development and landmark committees. Additionally, he has been a guest lecturer at Columbia’s Real Estate Program and an adjunct professor in New York University’s Graduate Real Estate Program.

Phil Silverman is President & CEO of Blue Sky Real Estate Services & Development. Blue Sky is an owner and developer of real estate which creates value for mission-driven organizations by changing the way these organizations develop, lease, and own real estate.

From 2013 - 2017, Phil served as Senior Vice President and Chief Physical Assets Officer for Northwell Health, where he was responsible for over $500 million in real estate transactions to achieve below market rate occupancy costs and secure strategic sites for the system’s future. He also had oversight for $1 billion of capital construction and the management of over 500 off-campus facilities.

Previously, he served as Vice President for Real Estate at Columbia University, where he was responsible for positioning the real estate portfolio to meet the educational, research, administrative, and housing needs of the University and Medical Center. In this role, he created strategies, formulated budgets, identified opportunities, targeted acquisitions, oversaw consultants, and stewarded negotiations to facilitate the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, and management of all estate assets belonging to Columbia University.

Prior to that, Mr. Silverman was Senior Vice President at Newmarket Development Corp in New York City, responsible for developing commercial and retail space, office buildings, and industrial facilities located throughout the Northeast.

Phil is a member of the board of Breaking Ground, a not-for-profit developer of supportive and affordable housing for vulnerable New Yorkers and is Co-Chair Emeritus of DOROT, an Upper West Side social organization providing services to the frail elderly.

Phil has a BA in Accounting from Syracuse University and his JD from Touro College. He is a member of the New York State Bar.

Dr. Richard Park is founder and chief executive officer of CityMD, the leading urgent care provider in the New York Metro Area and Seattle, Washington. He is board-certified in emergency medicine and completed his medical studies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Park studied emergency medicine in the Long Island Jewish Medical Center's residency program, where he served as chief resident. He then worked as the Associate Program Director of the residency program in NS-LIJ's emergency department and was awarded the Teaching Attending of the Year Award by his residents in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Dr. Park was recognized as an expert educator, receiving a system-wide award in 2007. He then taught in the "Teach the Teacher" fellowship program.

Dr. Park is the author and co-editor-in-chief of McGraw-Hill's Intensive Review of Emergency Medicine. He also educates both residents and attending physicians as the co-director of the NS-LIJ's Manhattan Board Review for Emergency Medicine. Dr. Park holds expertise in all facets of urgent care delivery and operation. His unparalleled education combined with his vision for delivering highly accessible, top-quality medical care has made CityMD the largest urgent care network in the New York Metro Area. Dr. Park lives on Long Island with his wife and two children.

Mr. Glazer is responsible for the overall operation of ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA) and focuses his attention on physician recruitment, mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning. Mr. Glazer is an ad-hoc member of all Board Committees and reports directly to the President of the group. ENTA consists of over 220+ MDs in 46 locations in the NY/NJ metro region. He joined ENTA in December 1997 and has over 40 years of healthcare experience in finance and operations, information technology, managed care contracting, mergers and acquisitions, physician recruitment and healthcare marketing.

OASIS, Otolaryngology/Allergy Specialty Insurance Services, a self-funded self-insured Medical Malpractice Captive was formed by the partners at ENTA in 2008. Mr. Glazer serves as the Vice President/ Secretary of this Vermont domiciled insurance company. He has served on the Leadership Council as President - Association of Otolaryngology Administrators (AOA) and has participated on ad-hoc committees of the American Academy of Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS). He is a Board Member of the Westchester County Association, a Fortune 500 business think tank.

Mr. Glazer is a Program Coordinator for the Healthcare Career Workshop Courses at Fordham University and an Adjunct Professor at Pace University Graduate Program for Public Administration - Health Policy and was recently reappointed to the NYS Ninth Judicial District BAR Grievance Committee for a 4 year term. Prior to joining ENTA, Mr. Glazer worked as a hospital administrator at New York University Medical Center (1976-1985) where he was a Departmental Controller, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (1985-1993) where he served as the Treasurer, New York United Medical Center (1993-1996) where he was the Senior Director of Finance and Business Development. Mr. Glazer transitioned to physician practice management in 1996 where he was the Vice President of Administration for ProHealth Associates, a multi-specialty sports medicine practice in Long Island. Mr. Glazer has a BS in Business Administration from the State University of New York and a Masters in Public Administration & Health Care-New York University.

As the Global Health Sector Leader at Gensler, Jim brings decades of experience with design and planning innovation in health, education, and research. His work investigates and integrates new technologies, human experiences, and spatial models for healthcare facilities around the world. Jim is widely recognized as a thought leader in healthcare, influencing the direction of the sector through his award-winning work and active engagement across industry platforms and organizations.

Jim serves as a visiting critic and lecturer at Parsons-The New School, NJIT, Carnegie Mellon University and MIT. He spoke at the Zell & Laurie School for Real Estate Development at The Wharton School addressing Urbanism and New Development Strategies. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and forums, including ACHE, ASHE, HCD, Tradelines, HFS, EHD, The Cleveland Clinic and CHoP. Jim’s work has been published in Architect, Architectural Record, Contract and Interior Design, among numerous other industry journals. His teams have won awards from the AIA, AHA, IIDA, state, local, and commercial organizations internationally.

Craig is a Healthcare Practice Leader for Jacobs with more than 30 years’ experience in Program and Construction Management. He has worked and consulted on major complex program initiatives to some of the leading medical centers including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Denver Children’s Hospital, Denver Health, Rush University Medical Center, CHUM, UConn Health, Ochsner Health System, and most recently White Plains Hospital. Craig is a seasoned healthcare industry subject matter expert in Operational, Program, Financial, Logistics, Technology, planning and management, and Infection Control/Interim Life Safety Measures; often called upon to advise owners and designers who are planning, contemplating, or actively involved in programs and projects on their campuses, occupied areas, or concerned about optimizing/achieving program goals.

Doug Thiede is Senior Vice President of Life Sciences & Healthcare at NYCEDC. In

this role, Doug is responsible for leading LifeSci NYC, New York City’s Ten Year, $500

million commitment to catalyze commercial life sciences growth. LifeSci NYC invests in

infrastructure, real estate, talent and funding to support economic growth in the life

sciences industry. Additionally, Doug oversees the Healthcare portfolio, including

efforts to support and expand Community Health & Digital Health innovation in New

York City. Doug leads a strong team of professionals committed to these efforts in New

York City. Prior to joining NYCEDC, Doug worked in both the pharmaceutical and

medical device industry including Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Spinal Concepts, Leica

Microsystems, and Confluent Surgical. In 2009, Doug moved to New York City to help

launch Gerson Lehrman Group’s life sciences business. He is a graduate of the

University of Virginia.

As Chief Investment Officer at King Street, Mr. Albro has a broad range of responsibilities including acquisitions, dispositions, development, and asset management. Prior to King Street, Mr. Albro most recently served as a Senior Vice President at Beacon Capital Partners, with responsibility for acquisitions and dispositions as well as asset management of the Boston region.

Tim Schoen has served as BioMed’s CEO since 2016. Under Mr. Schoen’s leadership, BioMed

Realty has grown its portfolio, including development to 17 million square feet across six core

markets, while providing its tenants with mission-critical infrastructure that expands their

innovation capacity to advance human health. In addition to expanding the business, Mr.

Schoen has earned numerous awards including Dealmaker of the Year award in 2020, and was

selected as a Leader of Influence list in 2023.

Mr. Schoen currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees for the Salk

Institute in San Diego and is the chair of Salk’s Conquering Cancer Initiative Advisory Committee

and the Finance Chair. He also serves on the Board of Directors for CoreGiving, a nonprofit that

seeks to fight childhood hunger and food insecurity. The organization has provided more than

66 million meals since its inception and mobilized over 3,000 volunteers in excess of 80 cities

across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia on CoreGiving Day 2024.

Prior to joining BioMed Realty, Mr. Schoen was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial

Officer of Healthpeak, an S&P 500 real estate company, from 2011 to 2016. Mr. Schoen served

as Vice President of Corporate Finance at Kilroy Realty Corporation for nine years before his

time at Healthpeak. Mr. Schoen received a BS in finance and international business from

Minnesota State University and earned his MBA from the University of California, Irvine’s Paul

Merage School of Business, where he was a Dean’s Scholar.

Jim is the Managing Partner of Deerfield. He joined Deerfield in 2000, focusing on pharmaceutical companies and gradually assuming broader responsibility throughout the firm. In 2004 Jim began co-managing the firm with Deerfield’s founder, Arnold Snider. Upon Arnie’s retirement in 2005, Jim assumed his current role overseeing Deerfield’s investment activities as well as the management of the firm. Since that time, the firm has expanded its investment capabilities to include private structured financings, developed additional proprietary market research instruments through the Deerfield Institute, and created the Deerfield Foundation to contribute toward the health and welfare of disadvantaged children.

Before joining Deerfield, Jim was a top ranked analyst at Furman Selz from 1996 to 2000, where he built a team to cover the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and also managed a proprietary trading account. Previously he served from 1993 to 1996 as Vice President of Corporate Development of Alpharma Inc., a pharmaceutical company, where his responsibilities included business development and strategic planning and the management of several licensing transactions. Jim began his career in healthcare investing from 1988 to 1993 at Kidder, Peabody & Co., where he ultimately served as a senior analyst covering the specialty pharmaceutical industry.

Since 2009, Jim has served as the Chairman of the Quality Committee of the Board of Trustees of Continuum Health Partners until its merger in 2013 with Mount Sinai Health System, where he continues to serve on the Board of Trustees. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the New York Academy of Medicine. He holds a B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Economics from the University of Michigan.

Joseph DelPozzo has 30 years of experience, nearly all of which have been spent with WSP. His primary concentration is in the design and management of electrical systems. His value conscious designs are based on early communication with the design team to develop creative system concepts that respond to the architectural goals of the project. Joe has applied his expertise to a variety of project types, including laboratories, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, higher education facilities, and industrial buildings.

Throughout his tenure with WSP, Joe has served as a leader within WSP’s life science and healthcare sectors. With his knowledge and expertise, our team has been able to design unique and efficient laboratory spaces for pharmaceutical companies, higher education facilities, and life science centers. Joe seeks to develop designs that meet today’s requirements, while incorporating the flexibility and adaptability anticipated for future needs.

Brooks has played a pivotal role in the growth of SGA’s Manhattan office, where he leads both

the architecture and interior design practices. His responsibilities are all inclusive: He oversees

all New York-based projects and several commissions around the country, encompassing new

construction, adaptive reuse, corporate interiors, and master planning. He also mentors

colleagues, provides design direction, cultivates new business, and guides the continuing

evolution of the Manhattan office, with the aim of cementing SGA’s position at the forefront of

technology. An advanced REVIT user, he is a strong advocate of fully intergraded integrated

BIM project delivery.

Before joining SGA in 2015, Brooks ran his own studio for 10 years, where he focused on

commercial, institutional, and residential projects. Previously, he served as a design architect at

I.M. Pei’s office (Pei Cobb Freed), a project manager at HOK, and a senior project architect at

Polshek Partnership (Ennead). During his tenures at these firms, he developed expertise in a

number of markets, including science and technology, healthcare, cultural institutions, and

courthouses.

Don Weinreich FAIA, LEED AP, has over 32 years of experience overseeing numerous science and research facilities in New York City, the US and around the world. As a Management Partner, his work is defined by a consistent track record of innovation and a focus on guiding projects to their successful completion. His experience with both commercial and institutional life science and healthcare projects is matched by his captivation with the complexities of laboratory and research design and delivery. This curiosity forms the basis for his ability to navigate the demands of these complex projects and to guide project teams to think both broadly and specifically about how to optimize each client’s vision through architecture. Well-known for his thoughtful and considered approach, Don helps clients define best value during design and build durable consensus among stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the project.

William S. (Billy) Macklowe is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of William Macklowe Company

(WMC), a vertically integrated real estate development, investment and operating company based in New York

City. Highly regarded in its industry, WMC’s business centers on the acquisition, development and

redevelopment of prime commercial, medical, and residential assets in New York City and the boroughs, real

estate correlated investments, portfolio acquisitions, and third-party management.

WMC redeveloped the office buildings at 636 Avenue of the Americas, 386 Park Avenue South, 311

West 43 rd  Street and 156 William Street, which it successfully repositioned as Downtown Manhattan’s premier

medical office building. WMC recently developed the medical office building 333 East 61 st  Street which is

leased in its entirety to Memorial Sloan Kettering, and both completed and successfully sold 100% of the units

at 21 East 12 th Street, a luxury, 23-story condominium designed by Annabelle Selldorf, in the heart of

Greenwich Village. WMC is currently developing Paseo on Fifth, a ground-up -275,000 square foot (sf) mixed-

use complex comprised of 185 rental apartments and 66,000 sf of commercial and retail space leased to an

array of national tenants over multiple buildings in prime Park Slope Brooklyn, as well as an office to multifamily

conversion at 291 Broadway in Tribeca.

Prior to establishing WMC, Billy was the President of Macklowe Properties, where he was responsible

for the firm’s successful development and redevelopment of over 25 million square feet, valued in excess of

$15 billion, including, among other projects, the office buildings at 340, 400 and 540 Madison Avenue and 140

West 57th Street , the high-rise multifamily buildings at 777 Sixth Avenue and Longacre House, and the highly

successful residential condominium projects at 310 E. 53 rd Street and 145 E. 76 th Street. Additionally, he played

a major role in re-establishing The General Motors Building as the preeminent office tower in the world. Billy

was the point of direct oversight of a 14 million square foot portfolio of Class A, midtown Manhattan office

buildings and 3,000 multifamily units

Billy, a graduate of New York University, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chapin School,

where he is the Chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee and was responsible for the $240 million dollar

expansion and overbuild of a new building which was constructed on top of the existing school. Billy served on

the Real Estate Board of New York’s Board of Governors and is also member of YPO International of which he

is a past Chairman of the Gotham Chapter.

Talisen is a commercial construction firm founded in the New York Metro marketplace in

2009. Focusing on the Healthcare and Education markets over the last five years has

brought Talisen success in the ambulatory centers, medical office buildings, charter

schools, private universities, and special projects areas.

As Business Unit Director at Talisen Construction, Chris offers over 30 years of experience

in the construction industry. His responsibilities include overall coordination and

management of Talisen projects, from estimating to close-out. Chris is responsible for

supervising and training members of the project management staff, as well as key project

responsibilities such as estimating, trade coordination, logistics and safety planning. An

overall role in the bidding process includes contract negotiation, financial status reports,

punch lists, and overall quality control.

In his time with Talisen Construction, Chris has lead several projects to success in the

corporate, medical, and education fields. The projects included high profile work for

Northwell Health, Island Eye Surgicenter, Pratt Institute, Google, Success Academy Charter

Schools, Cushman & Wakefield, and Cornell University.

Jack works for Gil-Bar Health and Life Sciences where he is the Vice President of their healthcare division. Jack specializes in modular operating room construction to improve constructability and quality.

Currently, Jack works with hospital design and construction teams to assist in creating a better operating room environment. By applying modular cleanroom technologies, improving air quality and utilizing safe hospital construction practices he is able to help hospitals manage infection prevention and control.

Loretta Beine is a Senior Director of Business Development for the Department of Economic Development doing business as Empire State Development. Empire State Development, New York State’s economic development agency is committed to promoting business investment and growth that leads to job creation and prosperous communities across the state.

Though based on Long Island, Loretta offers business development financial and technical programs and services to companies in the biomedical sector throughout the state.

Loretta is an advocate for the 401 Project. 401’s focus is to unite affected families, to increase awareness and to fund research projects designed to advance a cure for MECP2 Duplication Syndrome (MDS). MECP2 Duplication Syndrome (MDS) is a genetic mutation ideally suited for targeted gene therapies. Nearly all cure research has been funded by families and friends of those affected by the set of symptoms.

Michael Aberman, M.D. is president and chief executive officer of Quentis Therapeutics. Prior to joining Quentis, Dr. Aberman spent over seven years at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals as the Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Strategy. In that role, Dr. Aberman was a member of the senior management team and was responsible for the investor relations, corporate communications, business development, and corporate strategy functions at Regeneron.

Prior to joining Regeneron, Dr. Aberman spent six years as a Wall Street research analyst covering the biotechnology industry at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Before moving to Wall Street, Dr. Aberman was Director of Business Development at Antigenics, Inc., an oncology-focused biotechnology company. Dr. Aberman received his B.A. from Cornell University and his medical degree from the University of Toronto. He completed his residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital and received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of Business.

Mr. Fischer is a Principal and Managing Director with Trammell Crow Company and an integral part of the company’s comprehensive healthcare, life sciences and senior living development and investment initiatives. He serves as a national healthcare product specialist for the firm, keeping healthcare development teams across the country stay abreast of national trends and best practices. Additionally, he directly oversees TCC’s MidAtlantic health and life science developments, which currently include the notable 1.0 million square foot McMillan Redevelopment, the Adventist White Oak Medical and Oncology Pavilion, the National Harbor I and II medical office buildings, the John Carlyle Center for Wellness and Healthcare, the Falls Church Center for Wellness, the Balfour at Palisades, and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s 970,000 square-foot Medical and Surgical Pavilion.

Mr. Fischer has held various leadership positions in investment management within the healthcare industry since 1986. Prior to joining Trammell Crow Company in 2005, Mr. Fischer led his consulting practice, Fischer Advisory Partners, through the development of a national healthcare energy platform for US Power and also worked on services syndication for the private funding initiatives of hospitals in the United Kingdom and Germany.

Currently, Mr. Fischer serves as Chairman Emeritus for the Urban Land Institute’s Healthcare & Life Sciences Council, as well as numerous Board and civic groups.

JERRY SALAMA has been a Principal of The Janus Property Company since 1998. The Janus Property Company is a recognized leader in the transformation of New York City's obsolete buildings and underutilized land areas into dynamic structures and vibrant neighborhoods.

Prior to Janus, Mr. Salama was Deputy Commissioner of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, Acting General Manager of the New York City Housing Authority and Counsel to the Deputy Mayor of New York for Finance and Economic Development. Earlier in his career, Mr. Salama was a real estate attorney with the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Mr. Salama received a J.D. from Harvard Law School, a Master in Public Policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. For the last 19 years, he has taught a course at the New York University School of Law entitled "Land Use, Housing and Community Development in New York City.

Derek is an entrepreneur, executive, and network builder with nearly 20 years of experience at the intersection of groundbreaking science and commercial development; he is the Chief Operating Officer of NewYorkBIO, which represents nearly 200 members and includes the state’s leading bioscience companies, universities, research institutions and others dedicated to advancing life science research and commercialization. He is also the founder and principal behind ECHO NYC, an organization fostering connectivity between key stakeholders in the NYC biomedical ecosystem, including entrepreneurs, capital providers, clinicians, and healthcare operators, which has run monthly “Bioentrepreneurship in NYC” events since 2009. Derek has a deep background in startup biomedical companies. He is a co-founder and board member of Marvel Genomics as a Bio-entrepreneur in Residence for the Long Island Bioscience Hub. His previous ventures include multiple start-up companies, a commercial role at GE, and business development at the NY Academy of Sciences.

D. Sam Chandan, PhD is the Larry & Klara Silverstein Chair in Real Estate Development and Investment and dean of NYU's Schack Institute of Real Estate. He is also founder of Chandan Economics, a provider of multifamily and commercial real estate mortgage data and risk analytics to banks and bank regulators, and co-host of the Real Estate Hour on SiriusXM Business Radio.

Dean Chandan's commentary on commercial and residential real estate markets and the broader economy has been featured regularly in national and global press, including the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, CNBC, and Bloomberg. Among his recent publications, he is the editor and co-author of Real Estate Financing, published by PEI, and the lead investigator for Regulatory Design and Real Outcomes, a major study on the regulation of commercial real estate lending commissioned by the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC).

Dean Chandan's applied research is focused on commercial real estate capital markets and risk analytics, as well as long term changes in space use patterns and the impact of these changes on cities. Dean Chandan presents regular updates on commercial real estate lending trends to US and global regulators, including the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). He holds an honorary appointment as the Economist Laureate of the Real Estate Lenders Association and has served on the real estate advisory council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

Dean Chandan received his PhD in Applied Economics from the Wharton School and was a Doctoral Scholar in the Economics Department at Princeton University. In addition to real estate, his academic work has focused on issues relating to school access, poverty reduction, and development economics. In addition to his doctorate, he holds graduate degrees in economics and engineering and an undergraduate degree in economics, finance, and public policy.

Dean Chandan was previously the Laurence and Susan Hirsch Adjunct Associate Professor of Real Estate at the Wharton School and a visiting professor on the faculty of the Economics Department at Dartmouth College. Prior to founding Chandan Economics, Dean Chandan was Global Chief Economist and Executive Vice President at Real Capital Analytics (RCA). During his tenure as Chief Economist and Senior Vice President at Reis (NASDAQ:REIS), he was part of the executive team that took the company public.
