Maria G. Gotsch is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Partnership Fund for New York City (www.pfnyc.org), which is the investment arm of the Partnership for New York City. The Fund, which has invested over $170 million, has built a network of top experts from the investment and corporate communities who help identify and support New York City’s most promising entrepreneurs in both the for-profit and non-for profit sectors. In addition to leading the Fund’s operations, Maria has spearheaded the creation and operation of a number of the Fund’s strategic initiatives, including: FinTech Innovation Lab; New York Digital Health Accelerator; Transit Tech Lab; NY Fashion Tech Lab; NYCSeed (seed financing for IT/digital media companies); BioAccelerate Prize NYC (proof-of-concept funding for university-based biomedical research); Arts Entrepreneurial Loan Fund (low cost loans for mid-size arts groups); and ReStart Central and Financial Recovery Fund (assistance and funding for small businesses impacted by 9/11/01).

Prior to joining the Fund in 1999, Maria was a Managing Director at BT Wolfensohn (now part of Deutsche Bank), providing strategic and financial advice related to mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and the development of business strategies. Before starting with Wolfensohn, Maria worked at LaSalle Partners in the New York area and for Merrill Lynch Capital Markets in New York and London. Maria has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Wellesley College. She was also the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to study international relations at the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva, Switzerland.

Maria also is a member of the boards of Sonepar USA Holdings and the New York Venture Capital Association; serves on the audit committee of Sonepar S.A.; and, serves on the advisory boards of ProPublica (investigative journalism non-profit), Schools That Can, Columbia University’s Lang Fund and Hospital for Special Surgery Innovation Advisory Council.

Dan Davis serves as a Senior Associate at JB&B, with a primary focus on life science process engineering. Since joining the firm in 2022, he has been a driver in the firm’s growth in the life

sciences industry. He has led the process utility efforts for a cell and gene therapy (CGT) contract development and manufacturing company (CDMO) multi-facility project. In addition to process engineering, he was has been the project manager for on projects that have included cGMP plasmid facilities, iPSC labs, PCR labs, and semiconductor telecommunication labs. He has also supported previous clients by advising on the tech transfer of a vaccine facility.

Mr. Davis brings to the firm a unique perspective, having leveraging experience both from the

design firm side as an engineer and from the owner’s side as an owner’s representative. His recent projects at JB&B include: SK pharma co at The Discovery Labs, King of Prussia, PA;

Sampled at 30 Knightsbridge Road, Piscataway, NJ; Sanofi Flu Vaccine Tech Transfer, Toronto, ON; and Nokia Bell Labs, New Brunswick, NJ. He is engaged in the education community, providing support as a guest industry panelist for student presentations at Howard University and Villanova University. He has provided an AIA CEC lecture on S&T 100 Design Considerations for Clean Rooms, and for Interphex 2024 he will be a moderating the a panel discussing pharmaceutical manufacturing in urban centers. Mr. Davis earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University.

Susan Rosenthal is the Senior Vice President, Life Sciences & Healthcare at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, which announced in June 2021 a plan to double the City’s $500 million investment in life sciences to $1 billion to create jobs and establish New York City as a global leader in life sciences. Susan also led NYCEDC’s COVID-19 testing team, which in partnership with City Hall and NYC Health + Hospitals helped launch the Pandemic Response Lab, created a local supply chain for COVID test kits, and evaluated technologies for point of care and rapid tests to support the City’s response to COVID-19. Susan has over fifteen years of industry experience with a rich background in business development, corporate strategy, and portfolio management from her time at Pfizer and Deloitte Consulting. Her experience spans many therapeutic areas as well as across early and late stage R&D. Sue earned her MBA from NYU and her Bachelor's degree in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
