Suzen L. Heeley is the Executive Director, Design+Construction at Memorial Sloan Kettering

Cancer Center (MSK), where she is responsible for leading design and construction within an

ongoing $6+ billion capital program. This program encompasses both new construction and

renovation projects across more than 30 locations in the New York tri-state area, advancing MSK’s

mission of ending cancer for life.

With a background in architectural/design consulting, as well as experience as an Owner's

representative, Suzen brings extensive expertise in innovative healthcare, environmental, interior,

and exhibit design. She has collaborated with Fortune 500 corporations and leading healthcare

organizations, delivering projects emphasizing functionality, sustainability, and human-centered

design.

Suzen’s work has earned her honors, including awards from The Center for Health Design, the

International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Pioneering Women and the Contract Healthcare

Environment Awards. She was also recognized with Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year in

Healthcare and as an inaugural recipient of the Women in Design award. A passionate advocate

for future-facing healthcare design, Suzen has served on The Center for Health Design’s

Environmental Standards Council and frequently speaks at national conferences to promote the

importance of healthcare design and its impact on the human experience. She is also an active

member of several boards, including the Editorial Advisory Board for Healthcare Design

Magazine, the Women in Healthcare NY Metro Advisory Board, the Association of Medical Facility

Professionals Greater NY Advisory Board and its Podcast Committee. Additionally, she serves

on the Advisory Board for the NY School of Interior Design’s Master of Professional Studies in

Design of Healthcare Environments. As a U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED

Accredited Professional, Suzen promotes sustainable, environmentally responsible design. Her

commitment to the intersection of health and the built environment has contributed to MSK’s

achievement of numerous USGBC LEED-certified buildings.

Jeffrey Berman, AIA, ACHA specializes in planning, programming and design of healthcare and

research facilities. In 35 years of practice in hospitals, he has honed a unique understanding of

the science, medicine and process that grounds optimal design of these facilities.

Since founding Jeffrey Berman Architect in 1988, Mr. Berman has been on the leading edge of

healthcare design, programming, planning, and designing facilities for the major healthcare

institutions throughout the New York area. These include Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer

Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital (8 campuses) , Mount Sinai Health System, NYU

Langone Health, New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, SUNY Downstate, Northwell

Health, Valley Health and White Plains Hospital. He has also designed numerous hospital-owned

and private ambulatory care facilities. Mr. Berman has published articles on designing

interventional environments and imaging and visualization in the modern operating room.

Mr. Berman received a Bachelor of Science in Art & Design, Architecture, at the Massachusetts

Institute of Technology, 1980.

Steve Wagman joined Siemens Smart Infrastructure in 2016, as the National Healthcare

Business Leader for the healthcare vertical market in North America. This followed a brief

retirement, after concluding a 33-year career with Siemens Medical Solutions in 2015, serving as

a vice president within the division and as chair of its Diversity and Inclusion Council, a nationally

recognized Top 25 Council.

Over the course of his career, Steve has led national organizations in healthcare information

technology, revenue cycle, strategic consulting, global services, medical imaging, design &

construction services, building performance & sustainability, energy performance services, smart

healthcare buildings, and program management for Siemens One strategic healthcare alliances.

Steve represented the U.S. Healthcare division in the global Project Management at Siemens

forum, collaborating with international colleagues in the delivery of products and services to

customers globally. He also served as the Siemens USA corporate relationship executive to

Penn State University from 2007-2015; as Siemens developed a strategic alliance relationship.

Steve is a 1982 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Health

Planning/Policy & Administration (HPA). Steve is a member of the Board for the Penn State

Health System, serving on the Finance, Quality, Corporate Governance, and Audit & Compliance

Committees for the seven-hospital system. He recently completed two terms (2019-2024) as a

Penn State University Trustee, which includes a College of Medicine; and was a member of the

Board of Trustees Executive Committee; and a Director for The Corporation for Penn State.

He is a past president (2019-2021), and member of the Executive Board (2013-2021), for the

173,000 member Penn State Alumni Association and chair of its DE&I Committee; a past

Executive Board member of the College of Health & Human Development Alumni Society;

Advisory Board member for the National Science Foundation Center for Health Organization

Transformation; and served as the chair (2014-2022) for the Corporate Engagement Advisory

Committee for the $2.2B capital campaign. Steve is also a student mentor and guest lecturer and

is a past president for the HPA Affiliate Program Group. Steve is an alumni admissions volunteer

for Penn State and served as a member of the Industry Advisory Board at Penn State Abington

for the Division of Social Sciences and Business.

Steve completed coursework in the MHA program at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member

of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE); the American Society of Healthcare

Engineering (ASHE); the Association of ERGs & Diversity Councils and has previously served on

the Customer Advisory Board for ModSpace/MedBuild Corporation, the Industry Advisory Boards

for Live It Business Development and Education Management Solutions, LLC (acquired by

Collegis, LLC in 2020). Steve also serves as a volunteer with Special Olympics.

John’s extensive experience includes leadership roles at CBRE, where he gained global expertise across multiple industry sectors, Terwilliger Plaza as the VP Operations for 1,000+ resident community and skilled nursing facility, and Oregon Health Sciences University, where he managed over 3 million square feet of complex academic and research facilities and infrastructure. His diverse background also encompasses manufacturing, product development, and hospitality, all of which inform his unique approach to real estate strategy. This breadth of experience is built on the foundation of being a noncommissioned officer in the US Army as a decorated combat medic and trauma nurse deployed to multiple combat zones. Patrick O’Sullivan is a partner in Herrick's Real Estate Department where he represents owners, developers, investors, governmental entities and not-for-profit institutions on a range of real estate matters with a focus on development issues, particularly those that arise in public-private transactions. He has represented clients on a range of complex transactions for properties across the U.S., including acquisitions and dispositions, large-scale developments, joint ventures, construction projects, ground leases, and public and private financings. Patrick also navigates clients through the multi-step process of applying for and utilizing tax incentive programs at the local and federal level. Managing Director, providing both agency leasing and tenant representation services

Over the course of his 24-year career, Fanuzzi has completed more than 20 million
