William S. (Billy) Macklowe is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of William Macklowe Company

(WMC), a vertically integrated real estate development, investment and operating company based in New York

City. Highly regarded in its industry, WMC’s business centers on the acquisition, development and

redevelopment of prime commercial, medical, and residential assets in New York City and the boroughs, real

estate correlated investments, portfolio acquisitions, and third-party management.

WMC redeveloped the office buildings at 636 Avenue of the Americas, 386 Park Avenue South, 311

West 43 rd  Street and 156 William Street, which it successfully repositioned as Downtown Manhattan’s premier

medical office building. WMC recently developed the medical office building 333 East 61 st  Street which is

leased in its entirety to Memorial Sloan Kettering, and both completed and successfully sold 100% of the units

at 21 East 12 th Street, a luxury, 23-story condominium designed by Annabelle Selldorf, in the heart of

Greenwich Village. WMC is currently developing Paseo on Fifth, a ground-up -275,000 square foot (sf) mixed-

use complex comprised of 185 rental apartments and 66,000 sf of commercial and retail space leased to an

array of national tenants over multiple buildings in prime Park Slope Brooklyn, as well as an office to multifamily

conversion at 291 Broadway in Tribeca.

Prior to establishing WMC, Billy was the President of Macklowe Properties, where he was responsible

for the firm’s successful development and redevelopment of over 25 million square feet, valued in excess of

$15 billion, including, among other projects, the office buildings at 340, 400 and 540 Madison Avenue and 140

West 57th Street , the high-rise multifamily buildings at 777 Sixth Avenue and Longacre House, and the highly

successful residential condominium projects at 310 E. 53 rd Street and 145 E. 76 th Street. Additionally, he played

a major role in re-establishing The General Motors Building as the preeminent office tower in the world. Billy

was the point of direct oversight of a 14 million square foot portfolio of Class A, midtown Manhattan office

buildings and 3,000 multifamily units

Billy, a graduate of New York University, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chapin School,

where he is the Chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee and was responsible for the $240 million dollar

expansion and overbuild of a new building which was constructed on top of the existing school. Billy served on

the Real Estate Board of New York’s Board of Governors and is also member of YPO International of which he

is a past Chairman of the Gotham Chapter.

With two decades of experience in the real estate industry, Morris has a remarkable track record of successful transactions. He has financed over 1,000 buildings across the United States, closing more than $20 billion in financings throughout his career. Before founding Arrow Real Estate Advisors, Morris was Senior Managing Director at Meridian Capital Group for more than seven years. He also served as a Director at Cushman & Wakefield and a Director of Capital Services at Massey Knakal Realty Services. Outside of his professional accomplishments, Morris lives in Midwood, Brooklyn with his wife and four children. YuhTyng (“Tyng”) Patka is chair of the NYC Real Estate Tax and Incentives Practice Group and chair of the firm's NYC Climate Mobilization Act Task Force and PACE Financing Practice.

Tyng provides a road map to her clients for the optimal way to minimize their property tax burden. Tyng represents owners in challenging their property taxes (certiorari) and is one of New York City’s top experts on building tax classifications, having successfully argued and litigated on matters relating to building misclassifications which have led to significant tax refunds.

For Tyng’s developer clients, she advises on strategies to reduce a project’s tax liability and represents developers on NYC tax incentive programs such as 421-a, ICAP, and IDA benefits such as FRESH. Tyng also counsels not-for-profit organizations on how to qualify for property tax exemptions for space that they own and occupy and advises nonprofits on leasehold condominium formation as one popular strategy for successfully obtaining property tax exemptions.

Tyng’s practice also includes representing developers on matters relating to Inclusionary Housing zoning benefits before the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (“HPD”). She regularly represents developers on inclusionary housing applications (VIH, MIH, PFASH/AIRS) and provides her developer clients advice on preserving their project’s rights to property tax and zoning benefits simultaneously. Tyng also regularly represents developers in their acquisition or disposition of inclusionary air rights.

As Senior Vice President of Building Repositioning, Brooks McDaniel provides overall direction and leadership to STOBG’s Building Repositioning Group. He works closely with the NYC-based executive leadership for Pavarini McGovern and Structure Tone to develop long-range strategic plans to help establish STOBG as an expert in building repositioning, particularly in the NYC market, as well as work with leadership across the organization to best leverage the company’s expertise in this important sector.

Brooks was previously Vice President of Design & Development at Extell Development

Company, where he was responsible for the design of millions of square feet of residential,

commercial office, hotels, retail, and educational buildings. Prior to working at Extell, Brooks

was a project director at SHoP Architects in New York, where he worked on various cultural,

residential, and institutional projects. Earlier in his career, he also worked as an architect at

Asymptote Architecture, Davis Brody Bond, and Roger Ferris & Partners. A registered architect, Brooks earned undergraduate degrees in management and in marketing from Lehigh University and a master’s of architecture from Parsons New School in New York.

Christopher Jones is Principal at Magnusson Architecture and Planning. In nearly 20 years with the firm, he has managed a diverse array of projects encompassing mixed-used, market rate, affordable, senior and supportive housing, as well as the Sunset Park Library – affordable family housing over the Brooklyn Public Library’s Sunset Park Branch – which was a first of its kind in New York City. In addition to several new developments including a recent RFP win for affordable housing in Gowanus, Brooklyn, Chris is currently overseeing many of the firm’s renovation and conversion projects, comprising gut rehabs, resident-in-place renovations and work associated with recapitalization strategies for affordable buildings. He also heads the firm's Digital Design Documentation developing methodology for all phases of work. Chris graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master of Architecture degree.

Kyle Twitchell brings over 20 years of experience as a structural engineer with a breadth of experience in renovations and adaptive reuse projects. His expertise includes: office to residential conversions in New York City such as 404 Park Ave South, 39 W 37th Street Vertical Addition Study, variety of private residences and COOP’s; office to school expansions Access Bronx Charter, Equality Charter School, and New Dawn Charter School. Previous experience prior to starting KTA Engineering, includes UCONN Hartford Campus which includes historic preservation of the Hartford Times Building, MSKCC Josie Robertson Cancer Center and Alexandria Bay Border Crossing. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New York and 24 additional states. Mr. Twitchell has served on ASCE’s Code Committee ASCE 7 Loading Standards, SEAoNY Code Committee assisting in code comparison’s between the NYCBC 1968, NYCBC 2008 to International Building Codes in order to develop a cohesive Chapter 16 of the 2014 New York City Building Code. He currently serves on SEAONY’s Professional Licensure Committee. Mr. Twitchell holds a BS in Civil Engineering and a MS in Structural Engineering from the University of Washington.

Melissa T. Billig is Co-Chair of Tannenbaum Helpern’s Construction & Design Practice. Melissa is a broadly experienced transactional attorney, results-driven construction litigator and strategic counselor. She is adept at drafting and negotiating contracts and navigating the full range of issues that can arise during the development and construction of projects in New York City and across the country. Acting as a business partner, she advises real estate owners, developers, design professionals and construction professionals throughout the project lifecycle. She has extensive experience in risk management, claim avoidance and dispute resolution, including high-profile, multi-party contract disputes and defective design and construction claims. Her transactional practice also focuses on drafting and negotiating license agreements required to protect adjacent properties during construction.

Melissa has represented clients in conjunction with large to midsize development projects, including the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion and renovation, the Governors Island Park project and The Culture Shed project at Hudson Yards. She has also represented clients in connection with exclusive residential renovations.

Prior to joining Tannenbaum Helpern, Melissa was a partner with Ingram Yuzek Gainen Carroll Bertolotti LLP. She has been consistently selected to Super Lawyers and has been awarded AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Melissa was also selected by New York Magazine as a “Top Women Leaders in the Law”. Most recently, Melissa was named one of Crain’s New York Business Notable Leaders in Real Estate and to City & State NY’s Trailblazers in Building and Real Estate List.

Melissa is an active speaker, published author and CLE instructor. She currently serves on the Board, and is Founding Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee, of the Women Builders Council. She sits on Tannenbaum Helpern’s Diversity Committee and is a mentor to numerous attorneys in the Firm and other construction industry professionals. Andrew Dolan brings over 17 years of experience as a structural engineer specializing in renovation and adaptive reuse projects. His expertise includes notable office-to-residential conversions in New York City such as 160 Water, 25 Water, Flatiron, 980 Sixth Avenue, and 77 Water. In addition to his conversion work, Andrew has led significant renovation efforts on projects like 1221 Avenue of the Americas Plaza, 7 Hanover Square, 560 Broadway, and 135 West 50th Street.

He is a registered Professional Engineer in New York, and a registered Professional Structural Engineer in California. Mr. Dolan is an executive committee member of ACEC’s Coalition of American Structural Engineers (CASE) and holds a MS in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and a BS in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College.

Chris is the founding partner involved with the concept and design development of all the practice’s projects. His ability to work across many building types is underpinned by the intellectual rigor with which every project is approached. After studying architecture at University College’s Bartlett in London and the University of Edinburgh, he joined Skidmore Owings and Merrill Architects in 1992. He started at the London office and in 1998 was moved to Washington DC and ultimately to the New York Office. Whilst at SOM Chris won both national and international competitions and completed many award winning office and mixed use buildings.

Chris is currently designing new buildings both in the USA and in Europe, as well as numerous other residential and commercial projects in and around New York City. These include new residential condominiums in New York City and New Jersey and renovations to existing office buildings such as the GM building and 510 Madison. His portfolio also includes numerous apartment and townhouse renovations throughout Manhattan, from classic Upper East Side limestone mansions to charming West Village townhouses.

Josh Oberman has been practicing law for over twenty years. He provides holistic legal advice to contractors, developers, and high net-worth homeowners throughout the New York Metropolitan Area and Long Island’s East end.

Josh focuses on achieving practical and efficient solutions for his clients who include some of the City’s largest trade contractors and developers. Approaching problems holistically, he works with clients’ CPA’s and Insurance/Surety professionals to make sure their needs are addressed from all angles.

A seasoned and creative deal maker, he is also a tenacious litigator who routinely litigates cases through trial when necessary. He has deep expertise in all aspects of private and public construction and negotiating and litigating Access Agreements under New York Real Property Law 881. He has shepherded clients through commercial disputes, litigation with sureties, union negotiations and conflicts, and insolvency.

Working in tandem with the Firm’s corporate department, Josh ensures that his clients achieve the right corporate structure. He also works extensively with the Firm’s trusts and estates department to help clients implement asset preservation strategies.

A dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker, Josh combines his construction law expertise with extensive knowledge of the local community both in the City and on the East End.

He is a Board Member of the New York City Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, and a past the President of the New York City Surety Association. He is a member of Ned's Club and an avid supporter of the Guggenheim Museum and the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.

Tom Loredo is the Director of Business Development at Copper, where he leads business development efforts for the multi-family market across the east coast, and ultimately helps scale the battery-equipped electric appliances that make switching from gas simple, affordable, and accessible.

Previously, Tom worked in the solar industry for 19 years where he originated, developed and managed commercial and utility scale solar projects across the US and in the United Kingdom, holding C-Suite positions for national and international solar companies. Prior to working in solar, Tom owned a commercial general contracting company performing both public and private projects in NY and NJ.

Tom earned a BS in Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is NABCEP certified in the solar industry.
