Eran Polack is CEO-NY and Co-Founder of HAP Investments, a New York-based real

estate investment group that specializes in the development of residential and

commercial properties including 500 Summit Avenue in Jersey City. He is also CEO of

HAP Construction, a full-service construction management company.

As CEO of HAP Investments, Mr. Polack oversees a diverse portfolio of residential and

commercial real estate that is renowned for its location, proximity to mass transit, and

innovative construction and design.

He is an established entrepreneur with a long history of successful real estate ventures

in Eastern Europe, Israel, and the United States. In the U.S., Mr. Polack has overseen

the construction and development of 12 residential properties totaling over 2 million

square feet.

His strengths include the early identification of emerging regions, and the development

of projects tailored for those markets. He also has a deep understanding of the budget,

schedule, and quality necessary to achieve success for any real estate project.

Mr. Polack was one of the first developers to identify East Harlem as well as the Journal

Square neighborhood of Jersey City as areas in preliminary stages of urban

revitalization. He was also an early leader in the revival of Neve Tzedek, a highly

coveted neighborhood in the heart of Tel Aviv.

Peter Cocoziello, Jr. is Principal and Managing Director for Advance Realty, responsible for the identification and execution of new investments, and active in the company’s asset management and development groups.

Peter has participated in the acquisition, disposition, and management of more than $1 billion in commercial, retail, multifamily, industrial and mixed-use properties. He is involved in multi-use development projects with capitalization totaling more than $4 billion. Peter has experience in portfolio-level underwriting and financing, as well as in asset management, having served in day-to-day operations and management activities for more than 20 million SF of space in all product classes.

He currently sits on the Board of the Somerset County Business Partnership and serves as a trustee for the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties New Jersey (NAIOP NJ). Peter holds a BS in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University, and an MS in real estate development from Columbia University.

Jose is a senior managing director and co-office head in the New Jersey office of JLL Capital

Markets, Americas. He joins JLL as part of the HFF acquisition and is a member of the firm’s

leadership committee. Jose specializes in investment advisory throughout New Jersey,

New York and Connecticut and also oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm’s New

Jersey office. During the course of his more than 25-year commercial real estate career,

he’s been involved in more than $62 billion of office, industrial, retail, multifamily and land

sales.

Jose started at HFF in March 2010. Before that, he was the executive director of Cushman &

Wakefield’s New York area investment sales group where he spent more than 17 years. He

began his real estate career as a real estate analyst at PaineWebber, UBS, Inc.

David Wolfe

Mr. Wolfe is the Co-Managing Partner in the Property Tax Department at Skoloff &

Wolfe, PC, where he focuses his practice on representing taxpayers in significant real estate tax appeals and property tax related matters. He has extensive experience in all types of property tax appeals, including hotel, multi-family, retail, office, and industrial properties. Mr. Wolfe frequently counsels clients on the property tax implications of the development, acquisition, and disposition of significant assets. He also counsels clients with respect to property tax exemptions and PILOT agreements.

Mr. Wolfe serves on the Board of the National Association of Property Tax Attorneys (NAPTA) and as the Co-Chair of the Real Property Tax Practice Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Mr. Wolfe has been featured or quoted in a wide variety of local and national publications, including Forbes.com, GlobeSt.com, Marketwatch.com, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Law.com, Law360.com, The New York Law Journal, and Commerce Magazine.

Mr. Wolfe has a track record of obtaining significant assessment reductions on behalf

of his clients.

Examples of those assessment reductions include:

• Reduced hotel assessment from $188 million to $131million;

• Reduced multi-family assessment from $116 million to $67 million;

• Reduced office assessment from $115.5 million to $90million;

• Reduced supermarket anchored center from $66.9 million to $46 million;

• Reduced nursing home assessment from $36 million to $10.1million;

• Reduced big box retail assessment from $21.3 million to $13.4 million;

• Reduced office assessment from $27.8 million to $6.5million.

Mr. Wolfe began his career as an associate at the law firm of Davis Polk and

Wardwell in New York. While at Davis Polk, he focused his practice on regulatory

investigations, securities litigation and banking disputes.

Mr. Wolfe is a member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates and is

the Co-Chair of the ABA’s Diversity & Inclusion 360 Presidential Commission. As a

young lawyer, Mr. Wolfe served as the Chair of the ABA Young Lawyers Division, the

ABA’s largest entity with more than 130,000 members.

Mr. Wolfe received his J.D. from New York University School of Law, and graduated

from Cornell University with distinction in all subjects.

Jennifer Mazawey, a Partner in the firm’s Newark, New Jersey office,

is a member of the Firm’s Commercial Real Estate & Redevelopment Law, Environmental Law, Construction Law & Litigation, Land Use & Approvals, and Education Law Practice Groups.

Ms. Mazawey practices in the areas of commercial real estate, land use and construction law. Ms. Mazawey is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Land Use Section, Environmental Section, Women in the Profession Section, and Renewable Energy, Cleantech and Climate Change Committee. She was named to the Board of Directors of the Land Use Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association in 2011. Ms. Mazawey serves on the Women’s leadership Committee of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association; she is a Board member and Co-Director of Sponsorship for Commercial Real Estate Women of New Jersey (CREW-NJ) and a member of the national CREW Network. She was previously a trustee of the New Jersey Association of School Attorneys.

Ms. Mazawey represents developers in all aspects of their development projects. She regularly appears before planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment. In addition, Ms. Mazawey assists clients with permit acquisition from agencies such as the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Transportation. She also assists clients with the drafting of their various professional services and construction contracts and represents clients in construction-related disputes. Ms. Mazawey also provides counseling

and training on all aspects of the development process.

• Obtain land use approvals for big box retail developments.

• Manage land use approvals for public and private utility clients.

• Has successfully represented developers in obtaining state governmental permits from

the Departments of Environmental Protection and Transportation.

For over a decade, Ms. Mazawey has also practiced in the area of education law. She served as both general counsel and special labor counsel to boards of education and boards of trustees throughout the state of New Jersey. In that capacity, she has handled matters at the Public Employment Relations Commission, as well as the Office of Administrative Law and state and federal courts. Among other things, she has counseled clients on matters of board governance, labor relations, special education matters and school construction.

She has lectured for the Institute of Continuing Education (ICLE), the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Business and Industry Association and the New Jersey School Boards Association. In 2012, Ms. Mazawey was recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as a New Leader of the Bar. From 2007 - 2013, Ms. Mazawey was recognized in New Jersey Monthly magazine by Super Lawyers as a New Jersey Rising Star in Education Law, Environmental Law, and Land Use Law. Ms. Mazawey has also been listed in the Best Lawyers in America in the area of Real Estate Law in 2015 and 2017 and was listed by NJBIZ as one of the 50 Best Woman in Business in 2016.

Ms. Mazawey is a co-author of “In the Election of 2002, the Voters of New Jersey Were the Winners,” for 27 Seton Hall Legislative Journal 77 in 2003.

She proudly serves as a member of the William Paterson University Foundation Board and the Greater Newark Holiday Fund Board.

She received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1997, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in 1994. After law school, she served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Christine L. Miniman, J.S.C.

Russell Tepper serves as Mill Creek Residential’s Senior Managing Director for development activities in the Northeast region including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. His duties include leading this regional division of Mill Creek for both ground-up and adaptive reuse developments, while furthering its objective to create tailored residential communities that cater to surrounding neighborhoods’ needs.

Prior to joining Mill Creek in 2014, Mr. Tepper was Vice President of Development at Matrix Development Group, where he managed the company’s urban redevelopment portfolio, seeking out new acquisitions of residential and mixed-use properties throughout New Jersey and suburban Philadelphia. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the entitlement, development and construction of over 4,500 multifamily apartment homes and 5 million SF of commercial space.

Michael Sommer is Chief Development Officer at Kushner. In this role, Sommer oversees development and construction efforts throughout the Kushner portfolio. During his 25 years of real estate experience, Sommer has developed in excess of 8 million square feet of residential, retail and office assets. Most notably, Sommer has managed the development of 4,000+ residential units in New Jersey.

Prior to Kushner, Sommer was Senior Vice President of Development and Construction at Cedar Realty Trust, a NYSE listed retail REIT with a portfolio spanning from Washington, D.C. to Boston. Before Cedar, Sommer was Executive Vice President of Development at Edison Properties where he led the redevelopment of the award winning Ironside Newark in Newark, New Jersey. Sommer also served as Managing Director of Development at Advance Realty after having started his career at Premier Development.

Sommer earned an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from Lafayette College.

Michelle’s clients range from some of the largest institutional owners/operators and lenders in the space to local and regional sponsors and developers.

He has a real estate development and consulting firm, BAW Development LLC, where he focuses on developing transformative, residential and mixed-use projects in urban communities. He is Of Counsel to Post Polak, PA focusing New Jersey Redevelopment Law and Opportunity Zones.

Currently, BAW Development, LLC, in partnership with RPM Development, are the designated developers of the Hinchliffe Stadium Community Restoration Project, a $76 million-dollar project which includes 75 senior housing units, a restaurant/exhibition space dedicated to the Negro League, a 314 parking structure and the restoration of Hinchliffe Stadium, a 7,800-seat stadium which was once the home of the New York Black Yankees.

Baye Adofo-Wilson was Deputy Mayor/Director of Economic and Housing Development (EHD) for Newark, NJ. While Baye was at EHD’s helm, Newark had unprecedent development, including over $2 billion dollars of development, annually, with 2000 units of housing built, three million square feet of commercial and industrial development, respectively.

Mr. Adofo-Wilson was an 2014-2015 Urban Design Critic at Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a member of the 2013-2014 Loeb Fellows class at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. Before Harvard, Mr. Adofo-Wilson co-founded of the Lincoln Park/Coast Cultural District, a non-profit organization redeveloping the Lincoln Park neighborhood in the City of Newark. He led a comprehensive effort to transform a low-income Newark neighborhood into a sustainable cultural district that included the development of 10 USGBC LEED Certified Gold and Silver affordable housing and mixed-use buildings, urban agriculture, music festivals, historic restoration and workforce development projects.

Mr. Baye Adofo-Wilson is on the Boards of Berkshire Bank, Berkshire Foundation, the Campaign for America’s Future and the Black Voters Matter Fund. He is also a US Army Veteran, has a BA from Rutgers University-Newark, an MRP from Cornell University and he is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
