As President and CEO of Landmark Properties, Wes has overseen the design, financing, development, and operations of nearly $2 Billion worth of new construction student housing. Wes and Landmark have largely focused on developing student cottage communities under the “Retreat” brand, and, more recently, have expanded into luxury urban infill. Wes is responsible for establishing and implementing Landmark¹s overall corporate strategy. He is very involved in the development and finance side of the Company¹s business, but his hands on leadership style keeps him engaged in all aspects of the business. Landmark currently has approximately $800 Million in student housing currently under construction, making the Company one of the most active developers in the Space.

Wes, an Athens, GA native, obtained his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Georgia in 1999 and his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from UGA in 2004. While finishing up his MBA, Wes partnered with James Whitley to form Landmark Properties in May 2004. Wes lives in Athens with his wife, Kimberly, and sons, James, Harrison and William.

Mr. Gilbane founded the development arm of Gilbane, Inc. As Chairman, CEO of Gilbane Development Company, he is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company. In addition, he oversees all service groups including Development, Asset/Property Management, Project Management, Strategic Planning, and Finance and Advisory to ensure client satisfaction and unparalleled service. Bob has led the company in the development of a wide range of projects throughout the United States, including oversight of student housing projects, single and multi-family housing, mixed-use facilities, operation and data centers, distribution and manufacturing facilities, medical/hospital facilities, corporate headquarters, and many other types of facilities delivered through public/private partnerships. His long-term perspective as owner-developer of millions of square feet nationally provides the insight and experience necessary to create maximum investment value for our clients. Bob is a member of the Urban Land Institute, Rhode Island Commodores, and Rhode Island Builders Association, and serves on the Board of Directors at Gilbane, Inc., Gilbane Building Company, and Gilbane Development Company. He is a former chairman and a member of the executive committee of the Providence Foundation, former chairman of the Rhode Island chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and former board member of the Providence Preservation Society and of Sovereign Bank and Old Colony Bank. Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.

As Chief Executive Officer & President of GMH Communities, Gary Holloway Jr., draws on 20 years of acquisition, property management, asset management, and development experience to lead the second generation of the family business. Gary focuses on GMH’s current portfolio of real estate assets while researching and investing in new niche-related multifamily housing opportunities nationwide. Gary sets company goals to meet the ever- changing market trends in the multifamily space making sure that GMH is at the forefront of the industry. Gary takes the lead in sourcing joint venture partnerships with institutional investors and takes pride in maintaining long term partnerships with well know institutions.

Gary pursues many philanthropic interests. Currently, he serves as a Trustee for the Westtown School. He is the Clerk of the Buildings, Grounds, and Environment Committee and serves on the Executive Committee and Athletic Advisory Council. Gary is a past board member of the Pennsylvania Apartment Association (PAA) and is a lifetime member of the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholars program that benefits deserving caddies in their pursuit of higher education.

Gary regularly lends his real estate knowledge by speaking at events for the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) and BISNOW. He has also been a featured speaker for Villanova University and The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Gary is currently a member of NMHC’s Student Housing Advisory Group.

Gary received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Villanova University.

Donna Preiss

Donna Preiss is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Preiss Company. For nearly 30 years, The Preiss Company has specialized in the development, acquisition, and management of off-campus student housing and is currently the 3rd largest privately owned student-housing provider in the country.

The company employs over 500 team members and is one of the largest and fastest growing student housing providers in the United States—currently owning and/or operating properties in 16 states. The Preiss Company is the leader in the development of new technologies, tools, and strategies for the student housing industry.

Donna received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MA Degree from the University of Maryland at College Park. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the NMHC, the Board of Trustees for Ravenscroft School & the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. Donna also serves on the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board and is a member of the NAA National Student Housing Committee, the NMHC National Student Housing Committee, and the Women President’s Organization.

Bob Clark

Bob joined the Company in 2003 and was named the Chief Executive Officer in 2015. He is responsible for directing all aspects of the Peak Campus operating platform, including oversight of all support departments, corporate finance, and strategic planning, as well as chairing the Executive Committee. Prior to being named Chief Executive Officer, he served as President and Executive Vice President of Operations for the Company with oversight of portfolio performance and support. Bob joined the Company as Chief Financial Officer and later served as Chief Acquisitions Officer, where he helped to establish a highly active joint venture investment platform. He is one of the longest-tenured members of the Peak Campus team and, as such, played a critical leadership role in establishing Peak as an industry leader. Prior to joining the Company, he spent his entire career in the hospitality industry, where he served as CFO for Hardin Capital and Vice President of Finance for Homestead Village, where he participated in raising more than $1 billion and was a key member of the team that led the firm through its IPO. He began his career at the Marriott Corporation where he was instilled with the people-first culture that remains a center point of the Peak operating doctrine. Bob is a frequent speaker panelist at industry events. He is a member of the NMHC Student Housing Committee, a member of the RealShare Student Housing Conference Committee, and Co-Chair of the 2014 and 2015 NMHC Student Housing Conference. He was recognized in 2013 as a Pioneer of Student Housing by Real Estate Forum Magazine. He was also honored in 2014 by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution with its Top Leadership Award. Bob earned his BS in Accounting from Frostburg State University in Maryland.

James Wilhelm, III

Jamie is the executive overseeing ACC’s P3 division, responsible for all on-campus business development efforts, including our American Campus Equity® (ACE) program. Under Jamie’s leadership, his team has developed and/or completed more than three dozen on-campus transactions – including third party, tax-exempt bond finance projects, conventional leasehold mortgages, university general obligation bonds, and direct investments under the ACE program.

These transactions comprise nearly $2.1 billion in total development cost. All told, Jamie has been involved in higher education finance for more than 25 years. Prior to joining ACC in 2007, Jamie was an investment banker specializing in higher education and related non-profit finance. Throughout his investment banking career, Jamie participated in the origination of more than $2 billion of debt and derivative transactions for more than 80 higher education institutions and nonprofits. Prior to joining the company, he also served as the investment banker for more than $350 million of ACC projects prior to joining the company. Having worked very closely with higher-ed presidents, CFOs, and finance committees, Jamie has an unmatched understanding of the complex issues these leaders face when managing their balance sheets, debt capacity, and credit ratings while successfully achieving their overall mission and vision.

His deep experience and unique perspective combine to help ACC achieve win-win solutions for the colleges and universities we serve. Jamie joined ACC from RBC Bank’s public finance department, where he served as the managing director of the higher education sector.

Prior to RBC, he was a managing director with Banc One Capital Markets (currently JPMorgan Capital Markets) and held positions at McDonald & Company Securities (currently KeyBanc Capital Markets) and The Ohio Company (currently Fifth Third Markets).

Rita LaRue

Rita LaRue earned a Master of Science degree from Drexel University and joined Drexel’s Division of Student Life and Administrative Services in 1997. From 2007 through 2015, LaRue served as Senior Associate Vice President for Drexel Business Services, providing leadership and creative solutions for University Housing, Campus Dining, Retail Management, University Bookstores, DragonCard Services, Dragon Dollars, Event & Conference Services, Parking Services, Printing & Mailing Services, Vending and the Drexel Student Centers. This portfolio includes 2.5 million square feet at Drexel’s three Philadelphia campuses and an annual budget of more than $100.0 million, as well as 48 professional staff members, 300 industry-related employees and 250 student employees. In January 2016, LaRue was appointed Vice President of Campus Services. In this expanded role, LaRue continues to provide leadership of Drexel Business Services while leading a number of new initiatives, including comprehensively reimagining residence hall space utilization to achieve maximum alignment between the student’s living, academic and co-op experiences; developing “third places” on campus – physical anchors of community life that facilitate an excellent learning environment and campus engagement; and stimulating and supporting operational sustainability programs in alignment with academic goals and student success. LaRue is an industry leader in transforming the campus experience through student-responsive initiatives. Her achievements include the College Foodservice Excellence Award from On-Campus Hospitality magazine for the creative and successful expansion of the campus dining program, which increased sales from $11.8 million to $27.0 million in five years; leadership of a market-competitive and student-centric University Housing occupancy management strategy that includes the 2-Year Residency Program, designed to offer students a diverse mix of housing that is close to the campus core; and the "Models of Efficiency" award from University Business magazine for maximizing efficiency in administrative functions, reducing costs for students and improving service. LaRue serves her industry and community through a variety of volunteer positions as current Past President of NACAS East (the National Association of College Auxiliary Services), the past National Chair of the NACAS Inclusive Excellence Committee, and 10 years as a member of the board of directors for UC Green in Philadelphia, including three years as the chair of the board. LaRue holds a third degree black belt in karate and coached the International Shotokan Karate Federation’s first national collegiate women’s kumite champion team. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, LaRue now resides just west of Philadelphia, where she is involved in the arts and K-12 public education.

Isaac Sitt

Isaac J Sitt co-founded Vesper Holdings to focus on private equity real estate investments in both commercial and residential properties. Throughout his professional career, Mr. Sitt has invested in, developed and managed retail and residential real estate. He utilizes his keen understanding of the industry to lead Vesper in the acquisition of varied asset classes.

In 2010 Vesper Holdings launched its student housing acquisitions fund. Mr. Sitt identified a confluence of market factors that make this niche likely to experience accelerated growth over the next few years. Mr. Sitt has led the fund's rapid acquisition of multiple large student housing assets located in close proximity to major universities throughout the country.

In 1999 Mr. Sitt began to build a powerful portfolio of key urban retail and residential real estate throughout the country in partnership with Thor Equities, a family owned business. He recognized retail real estate in dense urban city locations as an underserved market. Major active investments included the Military Circle Mall in Norfolk Virginia and the Gallery at Fulton Street Mall which was sold in 2008 to Acadia Realty Trust.

In 1992, Mr. Sitt began his career at Baby Togs Inc., a manufacturer and importer of children's apparel. His initial responsibilities were to source and manage production for the firm in Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Bangladesh. Mr. Sitt rose to become the company's President where he led a massive re- branding and customer centric marketing effort. Under his leadership, the company successfully completed a turn around and was restored to a position of industry leadership. Mr. Sitt's keen understanding of retail market trends were a quintessential element of the company's success.

Isaac J Sitt is a graduate of the NYU Stern School of Business and sits on the boards of several charitable institutions.

Jason Taylor

Vice President, Public Private Partners

As vice president of public-private partnerships, Jason Taylor participates in American Campus Communities (ACC) business development and university partnership efforts. His responsibilities include assisting university leaders in the evaluation of facility financing and delivery options. Prior to joining ACC in 2019, Jason participated in the planning and execution of more than $1.5 billion in public-private partnership student housing, and advised more than 140 colleges and universities on the planning, feasibility and financing of campus housing. He served as managing director of university partnerships at Greystar where he led P3 student housing business development and partnership efforts in the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. He also served as chief executive of the advisory services practice in his 12 years at The Scion Group, which served more than 200 campus markets and advised more than $4.5 billion of student housing development during his tenure. He is an active member of numerous industry and professional associations, including the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I) Foundation Board of Trustees and ACUHO-I P3 Working Group, and is a frequent panelist and presenter on public-private partnerships and the future of higher education. Taylor began his career in university housing marketing and public relations at the University of Michigan, where he received his degree in economics.

Greg Cannito

As a Partnership Innovator, Greg oversees the application of Corvias’ innovative public-private partnership (P3) model to challenges faced by public sector institutions nationwide. Greg joined Corvias in 2003 and has nearly two decades of P3 and business development experience. His expertise in development, structured financing, and managing the implementation of P3s has brought value to partners where he has identified and articulated progressive solutions for a complex infrastructure program that utilize both private and public funding sources. He was instrumental in the development of The Clean Water Partnership, a first-of-its-kind P3 pilot program that is addressing federal environmental regulatory requirements for stormwater management in Prince George’s County. Previously the Senior Vice President of Program Development of Corvias Group, Greg successfully managed operations representing a total development budget of over $500M at Fort Meade and Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, as well as the development of Reece Crossings, the Army’s first-ever on-post apartments for junior unaccompanied service members. Greg served in the U.S. Marine Corps and holds a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech University.

Nathan S. Collier is principal and chairman of The Collier Companies, a developer, manager, and owner of multifamily housing with headquarters in Gainesville, Florida, home of the state's flagship university, University of Florida. Under The Collier Companies umbrella, Collier owns more than 45 properties and 10,500 apartments in Gainesville, Ocala, Orlando, Tampa, Tallahassee, and other Florida locations, as well as in Norman, Oklahoma, Champaign, Illinois, and Athens, Georgia. The Collier Companies was recently ranked by Student Housing Business magazine as the third largest—and largest privately held—student housing owner in the country. The Collier Companies also is ranked seventh on Student Housing Business’s list of the top 25 management companies of student housing properties, based on October 2012 data.

He endowed the Nathan S. Collier Master of Science in Real Estate program at University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration, where he teaches a real estate case studies course.

He is lead author of “Construction Funding: The Process of Real Estate Development, Appraisal, and Finance,” published by John Wiley & Sons, now in its 4th edition and recently published in Chinese and Korean.

Collier is a life member of the University of Florida Foundation and on the executive committees of Gator Boosters, Inc. and National MultiHousing Council, where he served as founding chair of the Student Housing Committee. He is on the Multifamily Board of Trustees for National Association of Home Builders and the board of UF’s Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies, is a member of Urban Land Institute, and is active in World Presidents' Organization. Collier also serves as a member of Columbia University's Columbia Journalism Review Board of Overseers.

A member of the Florida Bar and licensed in Florida as a real estate broker, a CPA, and a building contractor, Collier earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from University of Florida in 1974 and an MBA in 1978. He passed the CPA exam on the first sitting, scoring among the top 10 in that sitting in Florida. In 1982 he received a JD from University of Florida. Collier is a member of Harvard Business School's OPM 25 class.

A generous supporter of the arts, Collier supports Gainesville’s Hippodrome State Theatre and Dance Alive National Ballet as well as the University of Florida’s Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Harn Museum, and Museum of Natural History. He also is a financial patron of New York City’s Central Park Zoo, Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum, Museum of Modern Art, American Museum of Natural History, Guggenheim Museum, and Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Jeff Arnold

Jeff Arnold serves as the Chief Operating Officer of United Realty Management Corporation, AMO®. Jeff has direct responsibility and oversight of the management and marketing divisions. He provides best practices and direction of operations across all of the property management portfolios, including student, senior and multifamily housing, commercial and mixed use. Jeff leads a team of over 125 employees and is passionate about their and United’s success.

Jeff brings to United over 20 years experience in all facets of property management. Formerly from Houston, Texas, he played an essential role in starting up Asset Plus Corp’s student division, Asset Campus Housing, growing the company from just over 1,000 beds to 22,000 beds. Jeff also was SVP of Operations and co-founder of a startup company, Innovative Housing Solutions, for four years. During his tenure, he led all operations, grew the firm to over 5,500 beds and assisted in closing just over $115 million in acquisitions and new development. The organization made a +18% NOI growth year-over-year for their investors and clients in just two years.

Jeff earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Stephen F. Austin University. He is an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) and holds a license to conduct real estate transactions.

Jared Hutter

Jared Hutter founded BLVD Equities, the predecessor to Aptitude Development in 2014 after

working in all aspects real estate development for the previous 8 years. Long having an interest

in student housing since his time at Syracuse University when he recognized the pent up

opportunity given the zero supply of purpose built student housing, Jared founded BLVD

Equities with the intention of building ground up student housing around the country. After

successfully completing his first development at his alma mater of Syracuse and ultimately

selling the completed project to ACC, BLVD Equities became Aptitude Development. With a

proven model amongst its investors and a fresh infusion of cash, Aptitude currently has about

2,000 beds in various stages of the development cycle with a primary focus on urban core

pedestrian sites, many of which are boutique in nature and mixed-use projects.

Ron Gatehouse

As the Chief Executive Officer at Park7, Ron is responsible for the general management of each of the Group's businesses. He primarily focuses on identifying and executing on new business opportunities and ensuring that Park7's standards of excellence are upheld. Ron attended Penn State University, where he obtained an undergraduate and masters degree in Chemical Engineering. Thereafter, Ron became a founding partner of Copper Beech Townhomes, where he eventually became the firm's President.

In 2010, Ron co-founded Avalon Partners (now Park7), and assumed his current role. Ron is an avid Penn State fan and currently sits on the Penn State Smeal College of Business Real Estate Advisory Board.

Fred Pierce (“Pierce”) is CEO of Pierce Education Properties (“PEP”), a leading national student housing

investment, development and operating company that was listed amongst the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private

Companies in America (2018 & 2019). Mr. Pierce was selected a “Student Housing Pioneer” by Real Estate

Forum Magazine (2013), received Ernst & Young’s San Diego Region “Entrepreneur of the Year®” Award for

the Real Estate & Construction Industry (2012), named one of “50 Influential Leaders in San Diego” by the San

Diego Daily Transcript (2017–2019), included in “San Diego 500 Influential Business Leaders” by the San

Diego Business Journal (“SDBJ”) (2018–2023), named finalist for the “Most Admired CEO” by SDBJ (2018-

2019) and received the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s “Moving San Diego Forward Award”

the country during that period. PEP was ranked by Student Housing Business Magazine (“SHB”) in 2023 amongst

the “Top 25 Owners” of student housing in the U.S. and has been listed by SHB as an “Industry Titan” every

year since 2016. PEP has ranked #6 nationally amongst student housing companies in J. Turner’s “Online

Reputation Assessment (ORA) Power Rankings”. For 10+ years, the firm served as master developer of the

award-winning, 131-acre, multi-billion-dollar College Community Redevelopment Project at SDSU together with

SDSU Foundation (now known as SDSU Research Foundation). PEP has earned numerous national and

Consulting for Price Waterhouse (now known as PwC), and Director of Real Estate Investment Consulting for

KPMG Peat Marwick/Goodkin Group (now known as KPMG). Fred is Chairman of the NMHC Student Housing

Research Fund Board, Chairman-Elect of The Campanile Foundation Board (SDSU’s Endowment), Vice

Chairman of Beta Theta Pi Foundation Board, and Executive Committee Member of SDSU’s Corky McMillin

Center for Real Estate Board. He is a Member of the Franklin Pierce University Board of Trustees (immediate

past Chairman), SDSU Fowler College of Business Board (immediate past Chairman), SDSU Mission Valley

Campus’ Residential Advisory Board and Public Art Advisory Board, Sonoma State University Wine Business

Institute Board and University of Georgia Residential Property Management Board. Mr. Pierce is a Trustee

Emeritus of the 460,000-student, 23-campus California State University (CSU) System Board and Past Board

Prior to founding PEP, Fred was a principal and chief financial officer of Los Angeles-based Platt Companies where he directed the acquisition and financing of $400 million in real estate assets. Prior to that, Fred was Western Regional Director of Real Estate Consulting for Price Waterhouse, as well as Director of Real Estate Investment Consulting for KPMG Peat Marwick/Goodkin Group. For six years (1999-2004), Fred served as a Trustee of the 23-campus, 460,000-student California State University (CSU) System, where he chaired the Institutional Advancement, Audit, and University and Faculty Personnel committees. Fred is also Past President of the Board of Trustees of the City of San Diego’s Pension Fund ($4+ Billion), where he also chaired its Real Estate Investment Committee. He is currently Chairman of SDSU’s Fowler College of Business Board and Executive Committee Member of SDSU’s Corky McMillin Center for Real Estate. Mr. Pierce is also a board member of Sonoma State University’s Wine Business Institute and The Aztec Club at SDSU. Fred is a former board member of INVESCO’s $350 million Real Estate Fund I, and Past President of the CSU Alumni Council, SDSU Alumni Association and Poway Unified School District Foundation. Joseph M. Coyle is an innovative leader with more than 25 years of experience in the housing and development industry. As President, Joe is focused on the joint venture opportunities for the development and management of on-campus and off-campus student housing communities. Additionally, he oversees fee-management opportunities available from other private student housing owners, as well as acquisition opportunities in this market segment.

Throughout his career in student housing, Joe has been committed to working closely with colleges and universities to develop student living solutions that address financial, academic and cultural goals that stand the test of time.

Joe received a B.S. degree from Villanova University. He is a former Certified Public Accountant, and served on the Board of Directors of Hyperion Bank as the chairman of the Audit Committee.

Andy Feinour

Andy founded Student Quarters in 2013 and has led the firm as President & CEO since its inception.

Under Andy’s leadership, the company has assembled a portfolio of over 9,000 beds and is now recognized as one of the leaders in the student housing sector. Andy’s primary responsibilities include building the Student Quarters’ team and raising capital. In addition, Andy serves on both the Investment Committee and Board of Directors.

Prior to starting Student Quarters, Andy was a Senior Vice President at Carter (2009–2012), and a Vice President at Holder Properties (2001–2008). Andy also spent four years as a Project Leader at The Boston Consulting Group, before getting into real estate.

Andy earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia in 1992, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia in 1997.

Brendan Coleman

Julie Skolnicki

Julie Skolnicki is senior managing director of University Partnerships for Greystar, leading on-campus

development, acquisition, and long-term management partnerships nationally. She has executed over $3 billion

in mixed-use student life projects during her career advising and developing for universities, with an additional $2

billion in the pipeline. Julie joined Greystar in 2018 through the company’s acquisition of student housing leader

EdR, where she served as senior vice president of university partnerships. She came to EdR in 2013 with 15 years

of higher education planning and implementation experience at Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), the University of

Cincinnati, and Turner Construction.

Justin Gronlie

Harrison Street

Mr. Gronlie joined the firm in 2010 and is a member of the firm’s Management Committee. As a Director and Head of Education Real Estate in the Transactions group, he oversees the firm’s education investment platform. He is responsible for defining and implementing the firm’s investment strategy in university markets throughout the US as well as expanding Harrison Street’s Public Private Partnerships (P3’s). Mr. Gronlie has fostered relationships with public universities, academically selective private colleges and various other institutions, which has allowed Harrison Street to invest capital enabling its higher education partners to further their academic missions.

Prior to joining Harrison Street, Mr. Gronlie was an Assistant Vice President within the Commercial Real Estate Group at Citizens Bank. In this capacity, he was responsible for underwriting and portfolio management in the Mid-Atlantic region. He also served as the bank’s student housing specialist, whereby he analyzed each lending opportunity the bank evaluated within the asset class. Before working at Citizens, Mr. Gronlie was a Senior Acquisitions Analyst at GMH Communities Trust, a student housing REIT.

Mr. Gronlie holds a BBA in Finance from James Madison University.

Anne Papageorge

Anne Papageorge is the Senior Vice President for Facilities and Real Estate Services at the

University of Pennsylvania. Anne joined the University in October 2006 and has responsibility

for Planning; Design and Construction; Facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Utilities; and

Real Estate Operations and Development. She oversees a department of approximately 1,000

staff, $200 M in operating expenses and a capital budget averaging approximately $350 M per

year, the Penn Connects campus development plan, and the Environmental Sustainability

Advisory Committee responsible for developing and implementing the Climate and

Sustainability Action Plan for the university.

Anne is a licensed landscape architect and was previously the Senior Vice President and

Memorial Design Director for the Lower Manhattan Development Corp., managing the planning,

design and construction of the nearly $1 billion project encompassing the World Trade Center

Memorial, Memorial Museum, Visitor’s Center and related facilities.

Prior to joining the LMDC in 2004, she worked in design and construction for the City of New

York, where she served as first deputy commissioner of the Department of Design and

Construction, managing a staff of 1,200 and overseeing 750 projects valued at $4.4 billion.

Anne holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the State University of New York

College of Environmental Science and Forestry School of Landscape Architecture and an

M.B.A. from the City University of New York Baruch College. She serves on the executive

boards for Longwood Gardens, the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, the

University City Science Center, and the Schuylkill River Development Corporation; she also

serves on the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team.

Ann Volz

Ann Volz has over 25 years of real estate experience in program/project management, property management, student management, business development, and marketing. She has been actively involved in virtually all aspects of project development, from strategic planning through ongoing operations in student housing. Her background includes leadership positions at a national program-management firm and an international architecture firm, as well as being on the management team of three large development projects, a significant mall renovation and a 52-story urban mixed-use building.

As Senior Project Executive with The Scion Group, Ms. Volz provides and supervises delivery of student housing real estate advisory services to Scion’s clients. With a strong focus on higher education residential life facilities over the past 15 years, Ms. Volz bears keen expertise and experience in market studies, programming, P3 Advisory Services and owner’s representation.

Ms. Volz received her Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing.

Bob Keane

Bob Keane, AIA, is a managing principal and owner of WDG Architecture, PLLC. Keane leads WDG’s

Higher Education Studio and has over 30 years of experience in the higher education sector. Prior to

joining WDG Architecture in 2004 to initiate the Studio, Mr. Keane spent 17 years at Design Collective,

Inc. (Baltimore, Maryland), where he led the design of a nearly two-and-a-half billion dollars of higher

education work. Mr. Keane’s university design experience is vast, ranging from campus master planning

and mixed-use developments, to health science and chemistry laboratories, to performing arts facilities,

and to student housing. His designs can be seen across the United States on more than 15 campuses.

Since joining WDG, Mr. Keane has directed numerous university projects, developing a national portfolio

with recent projects in Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, Georgia, Indiana and Michigan. Keane

has master planned and designed over 9.5 million-sf of student housing over the past 15 years,

providing public and private clients nearly 22,000 beds and wide-ranging amenities, totaling nearly three

billion dollars in higher education work. Projects have included on- and off-campus, traditional suites

and apartments, living-learning with classrooms, and retail.

In addition to his design experience, Mr. Keane speaks professionally and academically on the subjects

of urban planning, campus planning, student housing, and the profession of architecture. His ability to

conceptualize, coordinate, and explain solutions to complex design problems among team members and

client/user groups has proven invaluable to clients and the firm.

Mr. Keane has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland. He is a member of

the American Institute of Architects, and regularly participates in The Association of College and

University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I) and the Society of College and University Planners

(SCUP).

Gavin Leach

Northern Michigan University

Mr. Gavin Leach became Vice President for Finance and Administration at Northern Michigan University on July 1, 2007.

Mr. Leach represents the university on several state and national committees including the Michigan Universities Coalition on Health, Inc., Midwestern Higher Education Commission Computing Task Force, the Merit Board of Directors, Northern Initiatives Board of Directors, and Educause. He leads a cross-divisional team that planned and implemented the Teaching, Learning, and Communication notebook computer program and provides ongoing oversight of the program. In addition, he oversees planning and implementation of the university’s campus master plan, computer leasing program, wide area network, administrative computer systems and programmers, facilities operations, auxiliary operations, and the university’s human resource operations.

Previously, Mr. Leach served Northern Michigan University as the Associate Vice President for Finance and Planning. In this role Mr. Leach developed and presented university strategies with regard to the annual and long-term planning for NMU’s $178 million budget, state budget requests, legislative hearings, compensation, technology, facilities, auxiliary operations, and financial aid.

Prior to joining Northern in 1989, his career included serving as a Senior Tax Analyst for Arthur Andersen & Company and a Senior Tax Analyst at MTS Systems Corporation. He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and Master’s of Public Administration (MPA) Degree from Northern Michigan University, and a CPA certificate.

Ryan Lang

Ryan Lang, vice chairman and head of Newmark Knight Frank’s Student Housing division, spearheads best-in-class investment sales, capital markets and advisory services on behalf of the firm’s clients. He has represented many of the largest global institutional, public and private real estate companies and has completed approximately $10 billion in real estate transactions.

Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank, Ryan was vice president with CBRE’s National Student Housing Group, where he helped lead their team to number one market share position in the country. Before that, Ryan worked as director of multifamily investments for New Orleans-based Stirling Properties, where he specialized in the sale of conventional and student housing assets. While there, he was recognized as the top investment sales broker at Stirling Properties for both 2011 and 2012. Ryan began his real estate career in New York City at Marcus & Millichap, where he gained experience in seller representation, acquisitions and investment underwriting. During his first year there, his investment team was recognized as the number one top-earning team in the office. He was also awarded the Pace Setter award for 2008.

Ryan was named to the NKF Chairman’s Circle in recognition of being one of the top producing brokers in the entire company and he regularly speaks at acclaimed student housing events throughout North America and Europe. Ryan has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and on National Public Radio for his expertise and leadership within the sector. Ryan serves on the board of directors of the National Brain Tumor Society, the largest non-profit brain cancer organization in the world.
