Throughout his career, Jaja has managed thousands of luxury apartment and condominium units in the San Francisco Bay Area. Equally important is Jaja’s background in technology: He co-founded Mascot Network, a $23 million dollar “Facebook for Colleges” after graduating from Harvard Business School in 1999, and was named one of the 25 most influential African Americans in technology in 2001 by Black Enterprise Magazine. Jaja’s depth of experience in asset management and internet technology lead him to Airbnb in 2015, where he now leads Airbnb’s global landlord partnership strategy. Jaja holds a BA in Government from Harvard College, and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Alfieri has served as our Chief Executive Officer since June 30, 2014 and as one of our directors since May 2014. Mr. Alfieri has served as the Company’s President since July 31, 2013, and has also served as our Chief Operating Officer since our inception in 2006. Mr. Alfieri served as Chief Operating Officer of our Former Advisor and our Former Property Manager from September 2006 and March 2008, respectively, to July 31, 2013.

Prior to joining Behringer in May 2006, from January 1999 to April 2006 Mr. Alfieri was Senior Vice President of AMLI Residential Properties Trust (“AMLI”), formerly a New York Stock Exchange-listed REIT, where he directed investment activities for the Southwest region. During his seven-year tenure at AMLI, Mr. Alfieri consummated multifamily transactions in excess of $2.5 billion. From 2000 to 2006, Mr. Alfieri was a member of CEC, AMLI’s senior executive committee. In February 2006, AMLI merged into an indirect subsidiary of Morgan Stanley Real Estate’s Prime Property Fund, and the consideration paid for AMLI represented a 20.7% premium over the closing price of its common shares on the last full trading day prior to the public announcement of the merger. From 1991 until 1998, Mr. Alfieri was president and Chief Executive Officer of Revest Group, Inc., a regional full service investment company. Revest was engaged in the acquisition and development of multifamily and commercial properties as a sponsor/general partner on behalf of international and domestic private investors. Mr. Alfieri also was President and Chief Executive Officer of Revest Management Services. Revest Management Services fee managed office, mini- storage and multifamily properties.

Mr. Alfieri graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. Mr. Alfieri is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Texas. Mr. Alfieri served on the Board of Directors of the National Multi Housing Council from 2002 to 2016. Mr. Alfieri is a member of the Texas A&M Mays Business School Masters of Real Estate Advisory Board. In 2011 Mr. Alfieri was honored as Executive Of The Year by Multifamily Executive magazine.

Robert P. Landin is Co-Managing Partner of The Milestone Group and Co-Chairman of Milestone's Investment Committee. Mr. Landin is responsible for establishing the strategic direction of Milestone and the firm's capital markets activities and fundraising. Mr. Landin has over 25 years of real estate acquisition, development, capital markets and investment management experience.

Prior to forming Milestone in 2004, Mr. Landin held key roles with Olympus Real Estate Partners and Colony Capital Partners, two leading U.S. real estate private equity firms where he was responsible for identifying, negotiating and structuring acquisition opportunities, as well as liquidating diverse performing and non-performing portfolios. During his tenures at Olympus Real Estate Partners and Colony Capital Partners Mr. Landin transacted on over $10 billion of real estate investments.

Mr. Landin received a B.A. in Managerial Economics from Union College in Schenectady, NY and studied at The London School of Economics. He is a member of The Real Estate Council and Real Property Association of Canada (REALpac). He also serves as Treasurer and Trustee of the St. Philip's School and Community Center in Dallas, TX.

Mr. Kraus joined IRE in 2000 where he directs IRE’s Acquisition Group. In addition, Mr. Kraus serves on IRE’s Investment Committee, North American Executive Committee and Direct Management Committee. Prior to joining IRE, Mr. Kraus was previously affiliated with the Harberg-Masinter Company, Crescent Real Estate Equities, the L&B Group and its predecessor company Lehndorff USA, Ltd., Hall Financial Group and Southland Financial Corporation. Mr. Kraus holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University. He has 31 years of real estate experience.

Michael Lynd, Jr.

Michael is the CEO of Kairoi Residential providing strategic direction and leadership across the entire corporate platform. He is a co-founder of the acquisitions and development partnerships in 2003 and 2006 respectively, as well as a founding partner of Kairoi. Michael has been deeply involved in the multifamily business as an owner and operator since 1995. His 23 years of experience make him an expert in the fields of multifamily management, investment, and development. Michael has invested in, developed, and disposed of more than $4.3 billion of real estate over the past 15 years. He has a valuable network of relationships with institutional joint venture partners, lenders and property owners which he has developed over his career.

Michael graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance. He is the Chairman of the Board for Alamo Regional Mobility Authority as appointed by the Governor. In connection with his role as Chairman, Michael serves on the Alamo Area MPO Transportation Policy Board and in the San Antonio Mobility Coalition. He also serves on the Advisory Board for The Bank of San Antonio and The Bank of Austin. Michael plays a large role in the San Antonio business community as well having previously held the position of Vice Chairman and currently serving on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. When Michael isn’t busy at the office or in the San Antonio community, he enjoys being on the lake, skiing, traveling, and listening to live music.'

Mark Culwell

Mark’s responsibility is generating multifamily development opportunities and oversight of the execution of the development plan for approved projects.

Prior to joining Transwestern, Mark served as Senior Vice President – Development for UDR, Inc., a publicly traded real estate investment trust, with national responsibilities for origination and managing the development of multifamily assets in major national markets. Mark joined UDR following a stint with Gables Residential Trust as Regional Vice President – Development. Mark began his development career with Trammell Crow Residential and was a divisional partner there. Mark has developed multifamily communities in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, Virginia, the District of Columbia, North Carolina, California, and Washington. In total, he has managed and developed over 10,000 apartment homes and $1.65 billion of new construction. The product has ranged from garden-style to high-rise and includes mixed use development in infill urban locations as well as suburban locations near major employment centers.

Prior to joining AMLI, Mr. Tague worked for the Chicago law firm of Mayer Brown. He received a B.S. from Northwestern in 1971 and a J.D. from Ohio State in 1977. He is a past president and/or chairman of the Atlanta Apartment Association, the Georgia Apartment Association, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Adam Brown

Adam joined Trinsic Residential Group in 2011, and oversees the company’s development and acquisition activities throughout North Texas and San Antonio. As a member of the Trinsic team, he has begun construction on seven projects in North Texas and one in San Antonio totaling 2,570 units with a capitalization of approximately $350 million.

Prior to joining Trinsic, Adam was with Greystar Real Estate Partners and Alliance Residential in similar capacities, and worked on over 4,000 units with a total market capitalization in excess of $400 million.

Adam received a B.B.A. in Finance and Real Estate from Baylor University, and an M.S. in Land Development from Texas A&M University. Joel Behrens

Joel Behrens serves as Managing Director within TCC’s Dallas-Fort Worth office and of High Street Residential, TCC’s wholly-owned subsidiary specializing in the development of multifamily housing. In his role, he is responsible for the origination, financing, joint venture structuring, and execution of multi-family investments in Texas. During his tenure at TCC, Joel has executed on 7.1 million square feet of office, multifamily and mixed-use development projects with a total capitalized value of 2.0 billion totaling over 4,700 units. Joel began his career with TCC in 2008 as an Associate in the Houston office, focusing on office development. From 2009-2010, Joel served as an Asset Manager in Dallas, assisting with the investment committee process and oversight of TCC’s development projects. In 2010, Joel joined the Dallas-Fort Worth office as a Vice President where he assisted in the under writing and marketing of office, industrial and multifamily projects. In 2012, Joel took over the leadership of the Dallas-Fort Worth High Street Residential team.

Ricardo Rivas

Mr. Rivas joined Allied Realty in 2001 and he has successfully directed or assisted the acquisition/development of over 2,300 multifamily units for a total aggregate value of over $240 million.

Mr. Rivas’ responsibilities include all aspects of managing Allied Realty’s multifamily investment businesses that include acquisition and development. Mr. Rivas oversees the acquisition and disposition of assets, market feasibility, site selection, project design, permitting, construction management, and project financing. Mr. Rivas formed and oversees Allied’s first private equity fund launched in 2013 to develop multi-family assets in the major metropolitan areas of Texas.

Mr. Rivas’ professional affiliations include being a member of the National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC) Emerging Leaders Committee, the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the Houston Apartment Association (HAA). A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Mr. Rivas is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and he is currently C.P.A. eligible while pursuing his Master of Science in Accountancy at the University of Houston. Mr. Rivas received his M.B.A. from the University of North Alabama. He is a also a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of North Alabama and was named All-Gulf South Conference and Academic All-Gulf South Conference for two consecutive years as a 4-year member of the Men’s Varsity Tennis team (both as player and Assistant Coach).

Will Hodges

Mr. Hodges has more than 25 years of industry experience with expansive knowledge of the real estate market and practical application of the construction process. Over the course of his career, Mr. Hodges served as a Project Engineer then Project Manager for multiple construction projects across Texas. For more than 15 years, he held the position of Senior Vice President at general contracting/construction management firms where his focus was on growing the client base and providing executive management of ongoing operations. He joined Cadence McShane Construction Company in late September 2012 and assumed the role of President on October 1, 2012. He is responsible for the overall leadership of the company’s operations, the strategic growth of the firm, and maintaining a reputation for top-quality performance and safety.

Mr. Williams is a Senior Vice President with KeyBank Real Estate Capital Markets in Denver, Colorado. He currently heads the multifamily loan production team for the Central (Texas/Rocky Mountain) and Southeast Regions for KeyBank. He manages a team which is responsible for all multifamily loan production in this region, with an emphasis on agency lending (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA), as well as life company placement and CMBS. Mr. Williams has 15 years of diversified real estate banking experience, with over 8 years of experience at KeyBank. Prior to his current assignment, he was responsible all permanent multifamily loan production for KeyBank’s Rocky Mountain based clients. Mr. Williams began his career with KeyBank as a balance sheet banker based at the firm’s Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. Prior to joining KeyBank, Mr. Williams was with Realty Funding Group L.L.C., a Denver based real estate acquisition and investment banking company. He was also with Studley, Inc., a commercial real estate firm in New York and Denver where he worked with the Capital Markets Group. He was responsible for the negotiation and restructuring of over a million square feet of office space. Mr. Williams began his career in the early 1990’s as an Investment Banker, first with JP Morgan Chase and then Salomon Smith Barney in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Williams studied Business Management at the University of Maryland and Real Estate Finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Rick Perdue serves as Managing Director of Development in Texas for Mill Creek Residential Trust LLC. He is responsible for sourcing and executing the company’s development activities in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metropolitan area. Prior to Mill Creek, Rick was with Tonti Properties where he served as Director of Acquisitions & Development nationally.

Mr. Perdue has overseen the development, acquisition, disposition and conversion of several thousand apartment units representing a notional value of over $950 million. Mr. Perdue developed La Valencia at Starwood, the first Energy Star certified apartment community in North Texas and winner of the “Green Multifamily Project of the Year” award by the National Association of Home Builders. He is LEED accredited through the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

Mr. Perdue received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA in Finance from Tulane University. He is also a CFA charterholder and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Texas. Mr. Perdue is a Board Member of The Real Estate Council of Dallas (TREC) and current Chairman of the Associate Leadership Council (ALC) program. He is also a charter member of the North Texas Multi-Family Product Council through ULI. Mr. Perdue is also a founding Board Member of the Circuit Trail Conservancy, an organization tasked with connecting the Dallas trail system.

John joined Embrey in 2012 and has 15 years of experience in the real estate industry. John’s primary focus is managing and securing development opportunities in the San Antonio, Dallas/Fort Worth, Nashville and Central Florida markets, where he oversees every aspect of the development process. He started his career with Houston based The Hanover Company after graduating from Texas A&M University. While at Hanover, John led the predevelopment group, covering many US cities and Poland and became a partner where he focused on development opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic region and Texas markets. John also worked at Skanska Commercial Development, a publicly traded international real estate and construction company. Skanska, who is active in the European markets came to the US to grow a commercial and multifamily development platform in Washington DC, Boston, Seattle and Houston. John was part of this startup where he contributed to the Houston market initial pipeline of approximately two million square feet of office development. John earned a B.S. in Construction Science and a Master in Land Economics and Real Estate from the Mays Business School. While at Texas A&M, John was a scholarship athlete, earning four letters as an offensive lineman on the football team. John is active in ULI and a member of the San Antonio Real Estate Council. In addition, John is a member at St. Andrews United Methodist Church where he teaches a marrieds bible study class and is the Chairman of the Construction Stewards. John is involved with The Ethiopian Aid Ministry (TEAM) and Hope Springs Waters where he has participated in mission trips to Ethiopia for clean water initiatives and outreach. John is on the executive board of Still Water Christian Ministries, a ministry serving youth through sports and is a commissioner for the local youth NFL flag football league. John enjoys hanging out with his wife of nearly 15 years and his three children, coaching youth sports, attending Texas A&M Football games, guest lecturing at Texas A&M and the outdoors.

Since its founding in 2005, Cortland has expanded into a global, vertically integrated, multifamily real estate investment, development, and asset management company. Anchored on providing a beautiful, yet affordable living environment and an enriched lifestyle to its residents, the company has adopted the unique approach of internalizing the majority of the functions dedicated to achieving those two objectives – from construction and design to product development.

Steven and his team manage a portfolio of multifamily assets located in twelve states, primarily throughout the Southeast, Midwest, and Texas. Stephen Mitchell

Stephen is responsible for client management, portfolio growth, and underwriting deals. He utilizes his skill set to assist our current and potential clients with all aspects of the investment and/or development process.

He has over 12 years of student housing experience focused on site selections, acquisitions and asset management. Prior to joining ACH, Stephen spent nine years in the student housing industry with two firms, Peak Campus Management and Place Properties, where he was responsible for all business development and acquisition activities.

Stephen earned his M.B.A. from Goizueta Business School at Emory University and his B.S. in Finance from Kennesaw State University. Stephen is a married father of three. He enjoys exercising, trading cars and he is always the first ACH team member on the dance floor.

Vic Clark

Vic Clark is a Senior Managing Director with Hunt Real Estate Capital. Mr. Clark has

29 years of solid experience in real estate financial services. He is currently National

Head of Conventional Agency production for Hunt Real Estate Capital. Mr. Clark has

produced more than $9 billion in loan originations comprised of over 700 transactions.

Mr. Clark led his Dallas production team to achieve nationally recognized production

volume making them the top production team in the firm for many years.

Prior to joining Hunt, Mr. Clark was Senior Vice President and Southwest Regional

Manager at Walker & Dunlop. Mr. Clark was also a Managing Director/co-head of

national production at Credit Suisse/Column Financial, Inc. There he was responsible for

nationwide production management, business relationship development, nationwide loan

origination, program direction and leadership of the Column Financial origination team.

Mr. Clark received national recognition for the highest individual production and

revenue within all Column programs for thirteen consecutive years.

Today Mr. Clark is considered a leading authority on multifamily financing. He is

frequently interviewed and quoted in the media and is often an invited guest speaker

at key industry conferences.

He is a partner and owner in approximately 9,000 multi-family housing units from Texas

to Chicago. He has extensive experience in retail, office and hotel properties including

financing, leasing and management.

Mr. Clark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of

Southern California, is a certified public accountant (CPA), and is a member of the

Appraisal Institute (MAI).

Stacy Hunt

Stacy has been with Greystar and its predecessor firm since 1982 and is currently

responsible for national client relations and new business pursuit for the

company’s 670,000 unit domestic management operation. Since joining Greystar,

Mr. Hunt has helped build the firm’s management portfolio through the opening of

regional offices in Arizona, Florida and additional offices in Texas. Stacy is a

member of the National Apartment Association, the National Multi Housing Council

joint legislative committee, the board of directors of the Houston Apartment Association and the

Westchase District, Treasurer of the Better Government Fund of the Houston Apartment Association

and is a licensed Texas broker. He also served as president of the Houston Apartment Association in

1992 and the Texas Apartment Association in 1998. In 1973 Stacy earned a bachelor’s degree in finance

from the University of Texas.

Mr. Hunt has witnessed the firm’s growth from 2,000 units to its current ranking as the largest

apartment manager in the United States, with more than 670,000 units in 43 states. Greystar also

manages approximately 24,650 units in China, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Spain

and the United Kingdom. The company’s owned portfolio consists of over 51,000 units including 87

properties under construction and 31 stabilized properties in markets across the US.

Mr. Hunt is based in Houston, Texas, and the Greystar corporate office is located in Charleston, South

Carolina.

Mr. Miller has completed more than $4.0 billion in real estate transactions in his 30 year career. He has extensive experience in sourcing and placing both U.S. and international capital. Mr. Miller is responsible for executing IRE’s investment strategy for larger portfolio acquisitions, recapitalizations and programmatic investing in the western U.S.

Prior to joining IRE, Mr. Miller was Executive Vice President for Internacional Realty and Royalton Real Estate Capital. He was the founder and President of Meridian Global Investors and prior to Meridian, Mr. Miller was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Lehndorff USA Group of Companies.

Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University and is a current member of ULI and ICSC.

Cyrus Bahrami

Cyrus Bahrami oversees development, investment and construction operations for the Houston office. He brings more than 12 years of real estate investment, development and finance experience. Prior to joining Alliance, Mr. Bahrami served as Vice President of Investments and Development for M-M Properties, where he participated in the acquisition, development and asset management of multifamily and commercial-office properties in excess of $600MM. Mr. Bahrami also held previous positions with PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP and Equastone Real Estate Investment Advisors. Mr. Bahrami graduated summa cum laude from the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Science in Finance. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.

Jay Denton

Jay Denton heads up Axiometrics’ analytics efforts, having joined the company as a research analyst fresh from earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Tech University. As one of Axiometrics’ pioneers, Denton helped grow the company into a nationally recognized research firm known for its granular apartment market and student housing data and outstanding customer service.

Throughout his tenure, Denton has introduced and perfected state-of-the-art research methodologies, processes, products and scheduling to help ensure the quality, consistency and timeliness of the information collected. In 2008, he moved Axiometrics into monthly unit and floor plan data collection and analysis, a method still in place today as the backbone of the company’s database.

Stephanie McCleskey

Stephanie McCleskey has been instrumental in developing—and maintaining—the foundation supporting the timely collection and dissemination of in-depth apartment market and student housing data. Her tenure at Axiometrics has generated a rigorous quality control method to ensure on-time reports and accurate data for Axiometrics clients.

McCleskey also organized and now oversees research and tracking processes for Axiometrics’ construction pipeline process, creating the methodology to update under-construction and lease-up properties on a monthly basis, thus ensuring clients have access to immediate and indispensable data for effective decision making purposes. Additionally, her efforts are focused on supervising, managing, motivating and training a crack staff of Axiometrics researchers.

McCleskey received her degree in real estate finance from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.

Drew Kile

Drew Kile is a Senior Director at Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a multifamily brokerage division of Marcus & Millichap serving the needs of institutional and major private investors. Mr. Kile is primarily responsible for the Dallas/Fort Worth markets for IPA Texas. Over the course of his thirteen years with the firm, Mr. Kile has facilitated and overseen the closing of transactions valued at more than $3 Billion.

Mr. Kile joined Marcus & Millichap in 2004 and was recognized as the Rookie of the Year in the Dallas Office in his first year. In 2006, he joined the company’s management team and was responsible for opening the firm’s Fort Worth office in 2007. Through his leadership as Regional Manager of the Fort Worth office, the operations grew from five agents to more than twenty over its first two years, and in 2009, the Fort Worth office achieved the highest revenue growth of all 75 Marcus & Millichap offices in the United States.

Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Kile held an internal finance position at Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, where he was responsible for projects in the firm’s North American Chemicals, Energy and Natural Resource businesses.

Mr. Kile holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, and he is active in the Greater Fort Worth Real Estate Council, the Dallas Real Estate Council, the Urban Land Institute, and the National Multi Housing Council. Mr. Kile, his wife Lynnette, and their two daughters, Eleanor and Lillian, reside in Fort Worth.

Scott Lamontagne

Scott joined Northmarq in May 2020 to expand the company’s Investment Sales platform across Texas. He focuses on establishing and maintaining client relationships, and providing advisory, transactional, debt structures and equity sourcing services to multifamily owners and developers. He is part of the company’s Built-to-Rent and Institutional Advisory practice groups.

Prior to joining Northmarq, Scott was a Managing Director and Team Lead at Jones Lang LaSalle for six years, and a Senior Director and senior executive over central Texas for Institutional Property Advisors, a Marcus and Millichap company, for 12 years. During the last 18 years, Scott’s direct transactional and oversight experience exceeds $7 billion. With more than 50,000 apartment units sold, Scott is recognized as a market expert and is frequently called upon to speak or provide commentary at real estate conferences and in media outlets. In addition, Scott serves as an advisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Beige Book publication.

In addition to his multifamily brokerage experience, Scott served as the regional manager for two of Marcus & Millichap’s flagship offices in Los Angeles and Encino California, and was the Western United States Director for Special Asset Services where he was charged with supporting more than 300 senior agents and creating direct client relationships with many of the nation’s largest financial institutions and servicers.

J.J. Williams

JJ brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the fields of construction, real estate and sales throughout Texas and the central United States. JJ started his career in residential construction directly following college, managing regional offices throughout the South and Midwest until later starting his real estate career in Atlanta, GA. As a commercial real estate broker, JJ managed the largest producing team for Grubb & Ellis in Central Texas focused on multifamily and commercial investments and as a member of Grubb & Ellis’ Hospitality Services Group. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Business Development for Jordan Foster Construction, the largest third party apartment builder in the state of Texas, where he focused his efforts building relationships throughout the multifamily, student housing, seniors housing and hospitality industries. JJ is a contributing member of the Texas real estate community serving on many local and regional boards & committees in addition to committing time to local charities and service groups such as The University of Texas at Dallas Real Estate Program, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and CRE Cares, a non-profit charitable organization for which he founded. He is actively involved with the Urban Land Institute (ULI), National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and Dallas Regional Chamber in addition to holding past positions such as President for CoreNet Global’s North Texas Chapter in which his chapter was honored as the Global ‘Chapter of the Year’ in 2015. In addition to his college education from Baylor University, JJ has recently earned his Master of Corporate Real Estate in 2015 from CoreNet Global and has been a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designee since 2006. Scott Humphrey

Scott is a member of BKD National Construction & Real Estate Group and BKD National Manufacturing & Distribution Group. He serves corporate and individual clients in the construction, real estate, manufacturing, distribution, software and retail industries. His technical knowledge includes tax planning and compliance, including multistate compliance and accounting method strategies. Scott has led various internal and external presentations and training sessions on the tangible property regulations and currently serves as a firmwide resource on the subject. Previously, Scott served as a national tax assistant director in BKD’s National Office. In this role, he performed tax consultations and quality control reviews with the firm’s offices and trained personnel on common firm approaches, including standardized tax workpapers, technology tools, new tax laws and regulatory procedures. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Missouri Society of CPAs and Indiana CPA Society and past treasurer for the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington. Scott is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, with a B.S. degree in accounting and professional services.
