Rick Friedman

Director Global RE Facilities

Glassdoor

Rick spearheaded a long-term real estate strategy for the U.S. as well as EU market penetration that aligned with CXO’s vision for growth and market expansion, as well as a tactical project roadmap for managing global growth and HQ facilities improvement.

Rick led a site and workforce analysis culminating in building the case for Chicago as the company’s ideal U.S. expansion site that persuaded the CXO to approve this alternative location.

Via incentive negotiations with Economic Development parties, Glassdoor received state income tax credits valued at up to $28M over 10 years for this 52K s/f, 13-year lease with space for 400+ associates (with options for further expansion).

Rick helped established the Dublin operations as part of a global market expansion strategy, and articulated a data-driven case for company’s U.S. real estate presence critical to hit aggressive annual revenue and headcount growth goals.

Rick drove a plan based on team member survey feedback resulting in valued HQ facility improvements including valet parking, dining space reconfiguration and a food vendor overhaul. In addition, Rick implemented an automated space planning and move-management system that reduced process time 40% and introduced real-time reliability and efficiency, with added functionality for planning, tracking and reporting space usage.
