Sarah LanCarte is the visionary behind LanCarte Commercial real estate, a company specializing in commercial real estate investment, brokerage, and property management. Under her leadership, the company has thrived, growing from a one-person venture to a team of over 40 skilled professionals.

Before founding LanCarte Commercial, Sarah played a pivotal role as a principal at Transwestern, a prominent national commercial real estate firm. She also made substantial contributions to the success of Fort Capital, a Texas-based commercial real estate company. With over 13 years of experience in the industry, Sarah has been involved in numerous transactions, totaling more than 15 million square feet.

Sarah’s exceptional professional achievements have earned her prestigious awards from CoStar, D CEO Power Broker, Bisnow’s “35 under 35,” and Fort Worth Business Press’s “40 under 40.” Sarah graduated with dual degrees in Finance and Spanish from Auburn University.

John Beck is Director of Business Strategy for The Beck Group’s Fort Worth office, where he focuses on strengthening client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and driving strategic expansion in one of the fastest-growing markets in the country. He works closely with clients and internal teams to align business objectives with project delivery, helping position Beck for long-term success across the region.

With a background spanning preconstruction, healthcare project management, and business development, John brings a well-rounded perspective to navigating complex projects and evolving market conditions. His experience includes time with a London-based general contractor, where he broadened his global perspective on construction and development while earning his MBA from the London Business School.

The fourth generation of the Beck family leadership at the firm, John is deeply invested in the firm’s legacy and future. He is known for his relationship-driven approach and commitment to serving clients as a trusted advisor.

Terry Smith has been involved in community banking in DFW since 1984 and primarily

focused on the region’s Commercial Real Estate market since the early 1990’s. He has

been in executive leadership roles with community banks in both Dallas and Fort Worth

for over 20 years. Terry joined InterBank in 2021 as it’s DFW Regional President.

InterBank is a $5.3 Billion privately held institution with 40 locations throughout North

Texas, West Texas and Western and Central Oklahoma. The DFW market at InterBank

has over $3 Billion in assets and is primarily focused on most major asset classes of

CRE. Terry is a graduate of Texas A&M University, with a degree in Agricultural

Economics, and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He is

a member of the Tarrant County Banker’s Association, Real Estate Council of Greater

Fort Worth, an Ambassador with the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, a board

member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and past board member of

Downtown Fort Worth, Inc and the Dallas Summer Musicals.

Guy brings comprehensive experience in development, leasing, and finance together with a history of working directly with retailers to lead their growth strategies. His cross-disciplinary background and strategic approach to retail expansion enable him to deliver long-term value through development with a focus on creating compelling retail destinations.

Guy is a member of the SMU Real Estate Society and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and a founding member of the Horned Frog Investment Network. He also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Medical City Alliance and the Board of Governors for The Nelson Golf and Sports Club.

I have 40 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, with a background in leasing, investments, and development. I hold an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, and was a partner at Huff Brous McDowell and Montesi, a real estate brokerage, management and advisory firm. I am also an active member of several industry and academic organizations: I am on the board of the ICSC, a Governor of the Urban Land Institute, and on The University of Texas Development Board. Additionally, I host a monthly podcast called Leaning In, where I discuss trends and best practices in commercial real estate with my industry partners and peers.

John Terrell is a highly accomplished real estate developer, corporate executive and

real estate broker with 44 years of experience in every facet of the real estate industry.

He is the President and owner of Commercial Real Estate Strategic Partners, where he

develops residential and commercial properties in North Texas and Broken Bow,

Oklahoma and provides real estate development, investment and consulting services to

international and U.S. airports and municipalities. He is the Managing Partner with

Hunter Chase Development Partners and a Partner with Tong Parson’s & Terrell Realty,

one of the largest Asian based Real Estate brokerage companies in North Texas.

In addition, he is a partner with Carillon Crown LLC where he leads the development of

Carillon Parc, a $400M mixed-use, destination development in Southlake, Texas.

Previously, John served as the Vice President of Commercial Development at

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), overseeing development and leasing for

15 years, with over 4,000 acres and 46 million square feet of commercial facilities

developed. He was the President of PG Development, LLC until January 2023,

providing commercial development, land planning, and consulting services to both

international and U.S. airports. He held executive leadership roles with Southern Pacific

and Union Pacific Railroads heading up the western half of the US for real estate.

John has also served as an elected or appointed official for 19 years, including as

Mayor and City Council member. He has been recognized for his achievements in the

industry, holds advanced degrees in business, and serves on various advisory boards

and committees.

Marty Wieder became Executive Director of the Arlington Economic Development Corporation in February 2024. Prior to joining the Arlington EDC, he served as the City of Grand Prairie’s Director of Economic Development for almost 8 years—and also previously worked with the City of Colleyville as Director of Economic Development, GSBS Architects as Director of Marketing, Planning & Project Development, as well as either Director, President or in economic development-related positions with the City of North Richland Hills, the Northeast Tarrant and Arlington Chambers of Commerce and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).

Marty grew up in Arlington—where he observed the work of (and early in his career got the opportunity to work with) longtime Mayor and then-Congressman Tom Vandergriff, who is known for attracting the General Motors Assembly Plant and a Major League Baseball franchise that became the Texas Rangers. Marty attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communication (1983) and later a master’s degree in urban affairs (1988). He taught as an adjunct professor in the Master of Public Administration program at UT Arlington’s College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs from 2021 to 2023.

Marty is a member of the International Economic Development Council, Urban Land Institute, and the International Council of Shopping Centers and its Community Advancement Advisory Committee. He’s been a Director on the North Texas Commission (NTC) Board of Directors and is a Class 4 (2012-13) graduate of the NTC’s Leadership North Texas program. He served as the first Board Chairman of the North Central Texas Economic Development District.

The Fort Worth Business selected Marty to its “Top 40 under 40” List in 1994. The Texas Career and Technology Council & Vocational-Technical Education Foundation of Texas recognized him and other NRH officials in 1999 as "Best in Texas" for supporting the Birdville ISD. The Northeast Tarrant Chamber granted him Chairman’s Awards in 1994 and 2001 for fostering economic development programs (which the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives recognized in 2001 as “Best in the State”) and its Gertrude Tarpley Director of the Year Award in 2003. UT Arlington selected him to be among the Recognized Alumni of the School of Urban & Public Affairs in 2013 and the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce granted him their Leadership Award in 2015.

Marty and his wife Bonnie have four children and five grandchildren (with the sixth due in the Summer of 2025).

John has been an indispensable member of the MAA team since graduating in 2004.

His contributions as a designer, director, and leader have been instrumental in developing and advancing MAA's architecture, interior architecture, marketing, and graphic finesse since its inception. John remains actively involved in the local architecture community, and his nomination and completion of the Emerging Leaders program at the Dallas chapter of the AIA are a testament to his expertise and leadership in the field.

John's work is not limited to his own designs. He also provides a positive learning experience for other team members and clients through each daily process. He is responsible for keeping the firm at the forefront of 3-D and visualization technology and sharing his knowledge and skills with colleagues and clients.

John's design and project contributions span the globe, including the United States, Nigeria, and China. His experience includes corporate architecture and interiors, multi-family and single-family residential, retail, mixed-use, and hospitality. Recently, John spent time in China collaborating with other designers in architecture, 3-D imagery, and master planning. His portfolio includes several master plans and architectural designs, including projects in Niamey, Niger, and Abuja, as well as Dallas, Texas.

John's experience, client interaction, design skills, and overall understanding have placed him at the forefront of MAA's design progression, determination, collaboration, and vision for the future. He continues to think at all scales and in all areas, inside and outside the box. John's goal is to provide all MAA's clients with the experience of seeing the vision before it becomes a reality.

Moody Younger serves as co-managing partner for Younger Partners where he is responsible for the overall performance of the company. In 2012, Moody and Kathy Permenter co-founded Younger Partners, which has grown from its original partners into a full-service commercial real estate firm providing investment, leasing and management services to clients in North Texas. Younger Partners currently employs over 100 professionals.

Moody’s experience spans more than three decades in senior management positions with Grubb & Ellis, CBRE, Trammell Crow Company, JLL and Transwestern Commercial Services. He has completed over 1,400 leases representing more than 8.1 million square feet.

Moody holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University, a bachelor’s from Texas Tech University and a Texas Real Estate Broker license. He is also active in many professional organizations including TREC, ULI, NTCAR and ICSC.

Howard brings more than 30 years of experience in accounting, audit and assurance, including more than two decades at a Big Four accounting firm. He has served as the lead client service partner to a number of public and private real estate companies ranging in size from $10 million to $13 billion in assets. Howard has experience with all major real estate classes, including office, multifamily, industrial, retail and hotels. Howard also has worked with property managers, land developers and construction companies.

In addition to real estate operators and developers, Howard also has extensive experience working with funds, including real estate and other private equity funds, as well as with portfolio companies. He has assisted clients with fund formation, structuring, ongoing accounting and reporting.

Howard has assisted clients with strategic operating and financial decisions regarding company formation, market analysis, tax structuring and planning, accounting systems, financing, investor relations, compliance and financial reporting. He has extensive experience working with REITs, partnerships and LLCs.

He has also advised companies regarding SEC accounting and reporting standards, business combinations, valuation, consolidation, stock compensation, leasing and sales, internal controls, compliance and corporate governance.

Howard also has international experience, having worked for four years in Shanghai, PRC, where he served multinational clients who invested in Chinese real estate. While there, he served as the lead partner for a United States IPO of a local Chinese real estate company.

Howard is an active member and has held leadership roles in several industry organizations, including the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth (REC of FW). He has served his community as a board member for the Dallas Mayor’s Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities and the Arts District Friends, as well as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Irving. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Houston.

Richard “Shawn” Ellis is Founder & CEO of House of Tangram, a development platform building demand-driven mixed-use ecosystems across high-growth markets. He is currently leading the Mansfield Sports District, a large-scale North Texas development designed to generate year-round demand through integrated sports infrastructure, hospitality, and programming. The project is anchored by CARBON Mansfield, a 288-key performance hotel and convention platform purpose-built for event-driven and team-based travel. Ellis is known for developing scalable platforms that combine real estate, technology, and capital markets, including KUBO, a modular construction system designed to accelerate delivery and reduce development risk. With more than 40 years of experience across hospitality, gaming, and mixed-use development, Ellis has led projects nationwide and is focused on redefining real estate as a performance-driven, data-informed asset class.

Kristin Assad is Chief Operating Officer of Stockyards Heritage Development Co., a partnership between the Hickman family and Majestic Realty Co., where she leads hospitality operations in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. In this role, she oversees strategy, operations, and asset performance for a dynamic hospitality portfolio that includes Hotel Drover — an award-winning Autograph Collection hotel consistently recognized as one of the world’s best destinations — Stockyards Hotel, a historic property currently undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation, Hyatt Place Fort Worth Historic Stockyards, and additional concepts in the district.

With more than 20 years of experience in luxury and lifestyle hospitality, Kristin is known for driving operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and delivering strong financial results across complex, multi-asset environments. She plays a key role in the development, opening, and repositioning of hospitality assets, as well as in shaping brand-driven service cultures that elevate guest experience and long-term asset value.

Prior to her current role, Kristin served as Vice President of Operations and General Manager of Hotel Drover, where she led the property to national recognition and industry-leading performance. Her expertise spans acquisitions, new development, renovations, and portfolio integration, with a focus on aligning operational strategy with ownership objectives.

She is actively involved in the Texas hospitality community and serves on several industry boards, contributing to the continued growth and evolution of the region’s tourism and hospitality landscape.

Vik Khasat is the owner and founder of The Dirdie Birdie, an innovative mini golf and dining concept redefining entertainment in Texas. Following a successful launch in Austin, Vik expanded the brand to Fort Worth - merging chef-driven food and beverage with an elevated, community inspired experience at each location. Vik also serves as a partner at Consumable Content, an end-to-end marketing agency serving the hospitality industry.

Zach Sams joined Kensington Vanguard in November of 2016 after serving as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Fidelity National Title’s Dallas/Fort Worth division from 2012-2016. Zach is focused on expanding KV’s footprint in the D/FW, Texas, Arizona and National markets. From selling real estate for to business development roles at prominent local and national title insurance companies, Zach has been active in the in the real estate market since 2005.

Prior to the title industry, Zach attended The Golf Academy of America in San Diego, then spent two years playing professional golf on various mini tours in Southern California. Zach is a Veteran of the US Army. Zach lives in Argyle, TX with his wife Amber and their two boys 11&13. In his free time Zach enjoys playing competitive amateur golf and traveling with his wife and kids.

Robert Allen is President & CEO of the Fort Worth Economic

Development Partnership (Fort Worth EDP), a premier economic

development organization committed to positioning Fort Worth as the

most vibrant and sustainable city in the United States. In this role, he

leads organizational strategy, drives financial and operational

performance, and provides strategic board engagement in support of

business attraction and job growth for the Fort Worth region.

Fort Worth EDP was recently honored with the Mac Conway Award for

Excellence in Economic Development by Site Selection magazine, recognizing its success in

attracting investment and driving growth.

Robert joined the Fort Worth EDP at the organization’s formation in 2023, and has since been

directly involved in several transformative economic development projects in Fort Worth including,

the Embraer’s $70 million investment in new facilities at AllianceTexas, the launch of a new, 51-

acre UTA-West Campus in Fort Worth, Bell’s more than $600 million Future Long Range Assault

Aircraft (FLRAA) project, and Wistron’s $761 million AI manufacturing facilities at AllianceTexas.

Prior to being named President & CEO, Robert served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Texas Governor

Greg Abbott, and most recently served as President and CEO of the Texas Economic Development

Corporation (TxEDC).

During his six years leading TxEDC, Robert spearheaded initiatives that advanced the

organization’s mission to market Texas as the best state for business, including major international

business missions to Japan, India, and Europe. His organization’s efforts have helped catapult

Texas to a record-breaking number of Governor’s Cups as awarded by Site Selection Magazine.

Robert is involved civically in the community and currently serves on the boards of Visit Fort Worth

and The Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth.

A fifth-generation Texan, Robert earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin.

He and his wife, Rachel, have two children.
