Since 1998, Richard P. Miller has served as president and CEO of Virtua, a non-profit healthcare system offering a full continuum of primary, preventative, wellness, acute and long-term care Miller has led Virtua in innovative directions by creating a values-based culture defined by the "Star Initiative," adopting Six Sigma, and transforming a group of community-based hospitals into technologically advanced regional medical centers. In addition to an enterprise alliance with GE Healthcare, Virtua has formed clinical alliances with nationally renowned organizations such as Penn Medicine and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Miller has been recognized nationally with appointments to the Leadership Advisory Council of the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare (CTH) and to the Governing Council of Healthcare Executives for the American Hospital Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves as a trustee of the National Quality Forum.

Paul D. Kempinski, MS, FACHE, serves as Enterprise Vice President and President of Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children (N/AIDHC) in Wilmington, Del. Kempinski, who joined Nemours in 2003, is responsible for the daily operations of N/AIDHC, a 200-bed referral hospital, a Magnet-designated hospital that is recognized among the top children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and the Leapfrog Group. Kempinski previously served as Operational Vice President for Nemours Children’s Health System and Chief Operating Officer of Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.

Ben Ochs is CEO of Anchor Health Properties and is based in the firm’s Charlottesville, VA, offices. Mr. Ochs has spent the majority of this career in the Development, Ownership, Operations, Financing, Asset Management, Leasing, Acquisition and Disposition of Healthcare Real Estate to hospitals, physician practice groups, and private and institutional healthcare real estate investors throughout the Southeast. Previous to that, Mr. Ochs served as a Financial and Underwriting Analyst at a boutique consulting firm.

Mr. Leibler has 40 years of experience in the real estate industry. He began his career at Schulman Realty Group in 1978 and became President and Chief Executive Officer in 1987, a position he held until 1992. Mr. Leibler joined Sony Corporation in 1993, where he led the development of new business platforms for Sony operating groups. In 1997, Mr. Leibler was elected Chairman of White Plains Hospital, where he had served as a director since 1988. He led a repositioning of the $350 million annual revenue hospital by developing a cancer treatment center, expanding the maternity program to include a neo-natal intensive care unit, creating an orthopedic institute, and laying the groundwork for a cardiac center. He served as Chairman of the Board for five years and continues as a Chairman Emeritus. In 2001, Mr. Leibler was named president and Chief Operating Officer of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 2001 making design excellence and project management the firm’s priority. He joined L&L Holding Company as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer in 2004. The Manhattan based real estate investment company focused on purchasing and repositioning office properties. Mr. Leibler graduated from American University with a degree in political science and international affairs and received a Master’s in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University.

Mark A. Davis is considered the foremost expert on medical real estate in the Twin Cities market area. With over twenty-five years of experience and 6,000,000 sq. ft. of medical leasing sales, development, construction and consulting projects in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan market, Mark has established himself as the leading medical real estate broker and developer in Minnesota and the upper Midwest. Past and present clients have included individual physicians, multi-specialty medical groups, hospitals, large healthcare organizations and HMO’s. In addition, the firm has represented numerous corporate clients in the sale, purchase, development or leasing of office and industrial facilities.

George Hurley leads DPR Construction’s Healthcare Core Market and has over 35 years of

experience in the engineering and construction of major healthcare projects. His extensive

background and technical expertise in project evaluation, financial management, scheduling,

and strategic planning has led to the successful execution of many large-scale projects. George

is passionate about executing projects utilizing integrated project delivery (IPD), incorporating

building information modeling (BIM) and Lean construction principles. Since joining DPR

Construction in 1997, he has helped change the way large projects are set up and executed.

Michael A. Noto serves as Senior Vice President, Real Estate Services for Welltower. He is responsible for

ensuring that the operations, finance and leasing departments of Welltower’s Outpatient Medical portfolio

provide hospital clients and physician tenants with quality property management services, timely management

information, and a wide array of leasing services. Mr. Noto has been with the company since September 2001.

Mr. Noto spent 13 years as a banking executive with responsibilities including commercial and real estate

lending, credit administration, and the management and workout of tens of millions of dollars of real estate

assets. During his 17 years as a practicing attorney, Mr. Noto was directly involved in the financing,

management, acquisition and disposition of millions of dollars of real estate.

Mr. Noto is a member of BOMA International and has participated on panel discussions at the Medical Office

Buildings and Healthcare Facilities Conferences.

Mr. Noto received a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA in finance from Rutgers University and a law degree

Joan Saba is leader of NBBJ’s healthcare design practice, one of the largest healthcare architecture firms

in the world. She brings more than 30 years of expertise and strategic vision to all types of healthcare

projects, with a focus on academic medical centers, pediatric and teaching hospitals.

Joan’s expertise in translating current and future programmatic and operational needs into effective

healing environments is applied to projects of diverse scales. She recently led the healthcare planning

and design efforts on the Kimmel Pavilion at New York University’s Langone Medical Center, a new

hospital for the American University of Beirut and the new Jiahui International Hospital in Shanghai. Her

recent work on the Massachusetts General Hospital Lunder Building won numerous design and industry

awards, including a National Healthcare Design Award from the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health.

She is a frequent speaker at events focused on the future of medicine, including Stanford Medicine X,

the Digital Health Conference, HIMSS, The Economist’s Healthcare Forum, Vanderbilt University Health

Care Conference, the Academy of Architecture for Health, Harvard University Graduate School of

Donald Clinton, AIA, MRAIC, LEED AP, has broad experience addressing urban design and architectural challenges at all scales. He joined Cooper Robertson in 1985, became a partner in the firm in 1995, and is a member of the firm’s management committee. He leads the firm’s collaborations with medical and research institutions, including Duke University Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, Research Triangle Park, and NYU Polytechnic. He has also led mixed-use development and multi-family residential planning projects on significant sites in the five boroughs and across North America.

Don has represented private and institutional development clients before the New York City Planning Commission and led complex projects through their planning and entitlement phases, including the Fordham University Lincoln Center campus, Hudson Yards, Domino Sugar, and the Lincoln Center Constituent Development Plan. He has also conducted master planning assignments for public agencies, including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Before joining Cooper Robertson, Don worked in Toronto, Los Angeles, and London, and earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto. He has taught urban design as a visiting instructor at the University of California at Los Angeles and the University of Virginia. He is a registered architect in nine states and Canada and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Dan Klein joined Physicians Realty Trust (NYSE: DOC) in 2016. As the primary representative and spokesperson for this national 35,000 member patient advocacy organization serving women living with and at risk for heart disease, McGowan ensures successful implementation of the strategic direction and increases WomenHeart's visibility and brand recognition among key audiences nationally. McGowan joined WomenHeart in September of 2010 as Chief Operating Officer to ensure the organization’s long term growth and sustainability. McGowan provided leadership and day-to-day oversight of WomenHeart’s main components including fundraising, resource development, communications, marketing, programs and public policy. She created and implemented WomenHeart's National Hospital Alliance, comprised of hospitals committed to advancing women's heart health – a partnership with hospitals nationwide that seeks to ensure that women heart disease patients in every community have access to information, education and patient support services. Prior to joining WomenHeart, Mary served as Executive Director of the Allergy & Asthma Network, the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating suffering and death due to asthma, allergies and related conditions. She held various positions with the American Academy of Pediatrics during her service of 18 years. Following the events of 9/11, she was project director on multiple emergency preparedness grants focusing on the needs of children. McGowan earned a Masters Degree in Human Resources Development from the George Washington University and a B.A. from Trinity University. She has a congenital heart disorder, a patent foramen ovale (PFO), also known as a hole in her heart, causing a minor stroke in 2010.

Nisan is a licensed architect whose background includes two decades of experience in healthcare design and construction. He has earned a reputation as one of the most creative and strategic minds in the industry, having established leading practices in healthcare development management that are used by organizations throughout the country. With specializations in clinical, research, and care delivery facilities in the healthcare real estate market, Nisan has experience in master planning, project design and development, construction and contract administration. Having managed some of the largest healthcare projects on the east coast, proving time and again his ability to expertly guide projects no matter the complexity.

Jay leads solutions development for Healthcare Advisory Services at Transwestern, providing strategies to enhance healthcare real estate performance and contribution to client mission and business objectives. Solutions include consulting and analytic services related to asset strategy, acquisition, disposition, capitalization, operations and maintenance for hospitals, medical office, outpatient clinics and other healthcare property types. Jay also leads internal operations for Transwestern’s Healthcare Advisory Services practice group, which includes development of service capabilities and implementation of best practices across all Transwestern geographic and functional sectors serving healthcare clients. Prior to Transwestern, Jay held positions at CBRE, Ernst & Young, Central Atlanta Progress and the US Army.

Ben is a managing director in the Philadelphia office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas and a member of JLL’s national healthcare practice. He joined JLL as part of the HFF acquisition and specializes on the sale of and equity placement for medical office buildings, physician and hospital monetization, re-capitalizations and joint venture equity.

Ben has advised on medical office and healthcare transactions of more than $1.7 billion. His clients include core funds, public and private REITs, pension fund advisors, developers, family offices, healthcare systems, fund managers and private equity firms.

As one of the founders of Revista, Hilda is responsible for developing client relationships and overseeing ongoing data collection, reporting and analysis. In this role, Hilda also regularly contributes to industry media and presents at industry events. Revista is the first dedicated data resource for the medical real estate industry and provides focused healthcare property data, industry information and networking opportunities. Prior to Revista, Hilda was the lead business developer for the NIC MAP Data and Analysis Service at the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry (NIC) - the premier provider of supply and performance data for that sector. During her tenure at NIC, she generated more than $2 million in new, recurring revenue and increased the subscriber base by over 50%. Prior to NIC, Hilda was a business development professional for Carteret Mortgage where she was recognized as the top producer in her group. She began her career at the Knox Financial Group in Baltimore.
