With nearly 15 years of construction management experience, Rob Dean, VP of Design and Construction, has been involved with almost every aspect of a successful construction project. He has led capital improvement projects for a renowned public American university, managed projects for national General Contracting companies, and now leads the team that designs and builds CoreSite’s world-class data center facilities.

In each stop, Rob learned that repeatable features and processes are essential, but each project is unique and challenging in its own way. “All projects have similarities,” he says. “However, every project has its own nuances, and each one has the potential to challenge the limits of your team's skill, expertise and patience.”

Jacob Rose is the Datacenter Infrastructure Architect for Linkedin. Over the past 12 years there he has seen server growth from hundreds to over a hundred thousand, space from hundreds of kilowatts to hundreds of megawatts and a nearly unrecognizable datacenter landscape become the norm. He currently focuses on technical assessment of space, leasing strategy and negotiation, and creation of new technologies to support Datacenter deployments and operations. He is a multiple patent holder and multiple dog owner.

Tejo manages the design processes and leads the construction of Stream Data Centers’ expanding portfolio of Hyperscale Data Centers, Private Data Center™ facilities, Build-to-Suit Data Centers and Ready-to-Fit™ powered shells. Tejo leverages his design, construction and mission critical background to support Stream’s ongoing growth, driving alignment across the design and development of new data center facilities and bolstering success for customers seeking to expand their IT footprints and capabilities.

Tejo holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.

Chris oversees the design and construction of Stream Data Centers’ product portfolio of Hyperscale Data Centers, Private Data Center™ facilities and Ready-to-Fit™ powered shells. He has more than two decades of experience in project management services, including more than a dozen years focused on mission-critical data center construction and commissioning. Since joining Stream in 2012, Chris has expertly managed an extensive supply chain to support data center projects in excess of 200 megawatts. Chris is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and is a certified project management professional. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Rick Waddle leads STACK’s construction and development efforts to address increasing client demand for the company’s HYPER STACK™, POWER STACK™, and READY STACK™ products. He has focused throughout his career on consistently delivering innovative data centers to meet the needs of enterprise and hyperscale clients. Rick specializes in the design and construction of large, highly reliable, purpose-built data centers. Prior to STACK, he was Vice President of Development for DuPont Fabros Technology, where he led over 200 MW of data center construction. Rick also held senior positions at AOL and was most recently Senior Director of Facilities Operations and Construction, overseeing the construction and operation of the company’s domestic and international data centers, call centers, and office space. His experience includes commercial real estate roles with Centennial Management and LaSalle Partners. Rick is certified in facilities operations by BOMA and IFMA and is a Licensed Class A General Contractor.

Sam Brown joined the Serverfarm team in 2011 as the Vice President of Engineering & Construction. Managing the engineering and construction teams, Brown is responsible for managing all aspects of data center construction and critical infrastructure projects from initial facility acquisition to design, budgeting, bidding, building, commissioning, and final turnover to the customer. Since joining the company, he has led projects ranging in scale from small power and cooling infrastructure upgrades to complex data center developments.

Prior to joining Serverfarm, Brown worked for five years as a mechanical project engineer for Ascent, LLC. Brown is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Danny joined the DataBank management team in 2011. As the head of DataBank's technical operations, hen is responsible for all facility infrastructure and data center operations. With over 28 years of Telecom and management experience, His oversight ensures DataBank clients have the highest levels of security and redundancy in the industry. Prior to DataBank, Danny managed multiple facilities totaling more than 100K sqft. of raised floor for Denver-based ViaWest. He was also the Director of Technical Services for colocation provider Dataside, and spent 16 years with Cable & Wireless, managing the company's central US operations. Danny also served in the United States Air Force.

Alex is one of the leading data centre construction professionals in Europe, having been Managing Director of Mace Technology. He is a qualified Electrical & Electronic Engineer and has built a significant number of complex data centres for some of the world’s leading companies including Barclays, Santander, the London Stock Exchange and the Sanger Institute.

Alex has been building Data Centres for over 25 years. He is a Chartered Electrical and Electronic Engineer and started his career at the London Stock Exchange, where he was involved in many of the LSE's off site DC's. Moving onto a Project Management company in the City, he delivered two DC/Disaster recovery centres for a Major international Investment bank, followed by a number of large Comms rooms for Telecoms companies. He then moved onto a Regional Contractor in Essex, where he managed a four year framework agreement to Design and Build leading edge Laboratories at the Sanger Institute for some of the World's leading scientists, including the World renowned Cancer Genome laboratory. At Wates, he set up the Technology division and delivered at the time, the largest High Density data centre in Europe, second only to one built by the CIA. He continued to build DC's for major hosting organisations, financial organisations and insurance market makers. Now at Iron Mountain Data Centers, he is drawing on his experience in Site selection, Data Centre delivery, Mergers & Acquisitions and sale and leaseback transactions.

Keith Dines is a recognized expert on data centers. With over 30 years of experience developing data centers for enterprise and colocation providers he has a broad background in all phases of design, construction and IT deployment.

Currently the Senior Leader of Data Center Site Selection and Construction Management for nVidia, he is responsible for the company’s strategy and implementation of its next generation of high-performance data centers for the future of machine learning and artificial intelligence in all of its deployments.

Prior to joining Nvidia, Mr. Dines served in senior management positions for colocation companies including Digital Realty Trust, The Cambay Group, Aligned Energy, and Core Location. While focused on build-to-suit developments at Digital Realty, he developed customized solutions for NetApp, Savvis, ARM Technologies and Equinix.

Earlier in his career as a data center consultant, Dines’ clients included corporate real estate executives, IT directors, and venture capitalists managing software developers, hardware manufacturers, on-line investment firms, on-line travel firms, telecommunications and a university hospital system. His most notable clients include Oracle, Charles Schwab, GI Partners, ViaWest, Adobe, and Stanford University Hospital.

Anthony Caracino, Senior Vice President of Global Construction, is responsible globally for overseeing all datacenter design and construction activities, including new campus builds, existing datacenter refresh program and providing custom solutions for customers, coordinating across internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure project success throughout the Digital Reality global portfolio. His team has delivered projects successfully throughout North America, EMEA and APAC.

Anthony joined Digital Realty in 2008 and has more than 33 years’ of experience in the design/construction of Data Centers and Mission Critical facilities.

Anthony is a registered architect in the state of New York and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA.

Kevin Dalton serves as Chief Data Center Officer for Cumulus Data, a division of Talen Energy Corporation. In this role, he leads the design and construction of data centers and supports technical customer sales efforts. He has over 30 years of experience developing 1,000 MW of data center capacity ($10B CapEx) across over 75 data centers globally.

Mr. Dalton is an expert in leveraging supply chain optimization and modular prefabricated construction techniques to drive rapid growth, improved quality, and speed to market. Throughout his career, he has set the standard for next-generation data center designs and led multiple successful sustainability initiatives.

Prior to joining Cumulus Data, Mr. Dalton served as Senior Vice President of Design & Construction for NTT Global Data Centers, responsible for leading the team that designs and delivers world-class data centers. Before his tenure with NTT Global Data Centers, he spent 12 years at Digital Realty in technical and senior management roles, including seven years as Vice President of Engineering, leading teams of engineers to deliver data center solutions for customers around the world. Mr. Dalton previously spent 10 years at MGE UPS Systems, a world leader in uninterrupted power supply systems, and nine years at McClier Corporation, a design-build firm.

Mr. Dalton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

As Principal for the Mission Critical Practice, Mason McPike partners with colocation operators, cloud providers, and enterprise users to develop MEP Engineering and Technology Design solutions for greenfield and brownfield data center assets. Joining the company in 2004, Mason has delivered over 30 diverse data center projects which include multi building campus development, live central plant replacements, and adaptive re-use infill opportunities . In addition, he has provided consulting on private equity transactions in the space exceeding 1 billion USD.

Michael has been leading high-impact data center development and construction projects for ~15 years. As SVP, Design and Construction at Aligned, Michael is responsible for the development of cutting-edge data center campuses, ensuring alignment of performance with best-in-industry design, efficiency, and operational objectives, as well as speed-to-market targets.

Prior to Aligned, Michael served as Regional Director, Construction Management for Equinix, Sr. Project Manager at DPR Construction and Builder, Drees Homes.

Nathan Hazelwood, Chief Development Officer of Cologix, is responsible for leading all aspects of design and construction, supply chain, vendor management, sales engineering and strategic sourcing throughout the company.

Over the past 18 years, Nathan has been an industry leader in key areas, such as design, construction and supply chain by forging new ways of procuring that have led to changes in how manufacturers and end users benefit together.

Prior to joining Cologix, Hazelwood held leadership roles in the data center industry at CyrusOne and QTS. Michael Terrigno has over 16 years of experience as a principal, project manager and electrical engineer. As Director of Syska Hennessy’s Washington, D.C. office, Mike has led the engineering design teams for many of the firm’s significant and complex Critical Facility projects in the NoVA region. Through both design/build partnerships and traditional bid-build construction projects, he has managed and designed engineering projects to provide safe, secure, functional, and resilient facilities for numerous Cloud, Colocation, and Enterprise clients. He is actively involved with various mission critical facility clients working with them to increase reliability and to integrate new technology within their business. Frank McCann is a 30 year veteran of Verizon and Verizon Wireless, focusing on data center design, retrofits and greenfield builds. He has held several leadership roles within Verizon, most recently leading the Potomac Region’s Wireline Network Construction team. Frank also recently lead the Global Wireline Standards team, which encompassed all of Verizon Wireline’s network facilities worldwide.

Outside of his day job, Frank is on the Executive Board for Monmouth Council of Scouting America as well as Assistant Scoutmaster for his son’s troop. He lives at the beautiful Jersey Shore.

Nick Speziale moved to the D.C. area from Buffalo, NY. He spent the early part of his career as a commercial tradesman, working with various state projects. During that time in NY, he learned about commercial building and infrastructure.

Upon his arrival in the D.C. area, he switched his career focus to project/construction management, where he excelled at vendor and operations management.

Nick is currently the Regional Facilities Manager for GEICO’s Region 1 Office and Corporate Data Center. He is a professional manager who is disciplined and focused on the efficient and effective delivery of logistics and other support services related to real property.

He encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality, comfort, safety and efficiency of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology.

As EVP of Construction and Development, Robbie is the leader of T5’s Construction Services division, where he sets the overall vision and business strategy. He holds the general contractors license and/or business license for construction activity across the organization. Robbie holds a degree in Construction Management from Western Carolina University.

Mark Hurley is a Data Center Solution Architect at Schneider Electric, responsible for bringing together the full suite of Schneider Electric products and services to provide right-sized, cost-effective, risk-based, innovative data center solutions for our customers. Mark has spent 30 years in the commercial real estate industry and has been involved in the MEP design, start-up, commissioning and operation of commercial office buildings and enterprise data centers. Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Mark was the SVP/Engineering Services Executive at a large financial institution, responsible for Engineering and Energy Services delivered to a 120 million square foot real estate portfolio.

With more than 25 years of experience in mission critical construction and design, Lane Anderson has an extensive background in MEP projects and design and construction leadership. Having delivered over 3.5 million square feet of data center projects, Lane is well versed in designing for efficiency to pursue low PUE facilities and has strong expertise in building design and construction teams.

Matthew Koerner has more than 20 years of experience in the AEC industry, Matthew has achieved an extensive understanding of the design and construction aspects of mission critical projects. His resume includes the integration of technology systems into critical environments in over 30 countries throughout the world. Mr. Koerner’s ability to strategically manage and actively participate in a project from inception and throughout design, procurement, construction, and commissioning is a testament to his experience as a professional design engineer and a construction manager of mission critical projects. Matthew is a founder and Principal of Critical Project Services and Integra Mission Critical.

Matthew is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states and is a LEED AP. He is a graduate of Kansas State University’s Architectural Engineering program, holds multiple patents on critical environment systems and energy storage systems, and serves in various board and committee positions for the 7×24 Exchange and Open-IX.

Jack Kolar is the Vice President of Mission Critical Business at TAS; where he has held several leadership roles since 2001. He has collaborated with clientele to develop several standard model series of prefabricated data center support equipment; including electrical, mechanical, and complete data hall solutions. He has delivered chilling for data halls sufficient for over one gigawatt over power consumed, and has served clients throughout North America as well as the EMEA region.

In addition to developing modular solutions, he has contributed innovation advancements in liquid cooling for data, via the Two-phase Immersion method. Jack studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Missouri - Rolla. He earned the PMP certification from PMI in 2012, and he was issued the eighth HVAC contracting license issued by the State of Texas. He served as president of the Houston chapter of ASHRAE in 1994-1995.

He holds the Uptime Institute’s Accredited Operations Specialist – Expert certification.

Alexis Layne is a graduate of Virginia Tech from the Building Construction Program. After graduation, she spent over a decade in the General Contracting world, specializing and managing Design/Build projects with Developers, Class A Office Builds and Industrial Building Retrofits. She then transitioned to an Owner’s Representative role with Cushman & Wakefield, representing large build-to-suit efforts, and tenant buildouts.

Currently Alexis is the Geographical Construction Manager for Leased Facilities at Meta where she is responsible for managing and overseeing all construction in the leased portfolio globally.

As Vice President of Data Center Development and Construction, Karen Petersburg brings 17

years of significant experience to PowerHouse, having successfully managed complex

sustainable data center design and engineering projects, including campus developments,

hyperscale built-to-suits, and major infrastructure renovations. Most recently, Petersburg has

served as director of design for Digital Realty Trust, where she was responsible for the quality of

the organization’s designs and processes. Alongside Luke Kipfer, Petersburg oversees the

planning and execution of all PowerHouse data center projects.

Karen Petersburg actively contributes to the data center industry as the president of the local

7x24 DC Chapter, with board and committee positions for the Data Center Coalition and the

Nomad Futurist Foundation. She also supports local non-profits aiming to increase STEM

participation among local youth.

With 20 years of experience, Alejandra has a strong background in data center design. She has been involved in the design of many significant data center projects - encompassing over 1GW of critical power - leading great consultant teams. She is now the VP of Global Design and Product at Yondr, building and leading teams to deliver designs around the world as well as spearheading the development of Global Design & OFE Standards and processes.

In his role as Sales Engineer at Tindall Corporation, Spenser Hines manages Tindall’s preconstruction services in the greater Washington metropolitan area. As a Professional Engineer with more than a decade of expertise in the precast concrete industry, Hines leverages his in-deep knowledge of precast design and construction to provide customers with innovative solutions while delivering the best and most-informed service possible. He attributes his ability to offer creative solutions to his customers’ challenges to Tindall’s position at the forefront of precast construction technology. Hines earned his Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University. Tony Grayson is the General Manager of Compass Quantum and is known as a cloud and datacenter leader throughout the industry. He regularly speaks and writes on topics ranging from sustainability to energy to datacenters. Before joining Compass, Tony was an SVP at Oracle, responsible for their cloud physical infrastructure. Before Oracle, Mr. Grayson held senior positions with AWS and Facebook. Before embarking on his datacenter career, Tony served for 20 years in the United States Navy in multiple places, including Commanding Officer of USS PROVIDENCE (SSN-719). He is a winner of the prestigious VADM James Stockdale Award for inspirational leadership.

Sarah Keller is the Head of Technology Sourcing and Supply Chain at Uber and is responsible for developing and management of strategic sourcing and supply chain activities for all Infrastructure, IT and custom Uber ODM products. In this capacity, she develops strategies that support Uber's technology platform which is at the intersection of lifestyle and logistics that is revolutionizing the way people connect with their cities around the world. An industry veteran with more than 15 years spent providing best in class leadership, Sarah has held numerous positions managing global hyperscale infrastructure, supply chain and supplier strategy. Prior to Uber, Sarah has been in leadership roles in Operations and Engineering teams for companies including Facebook, Workday and Google. Nancy Novak, Compass Datacenters’ Chief Innovation Officer, has over 25 years of construction experience and has overseen the delivery of over $3.5 billion in projects during that time. Prior to joining Compass, Nancy was the National Vice President of Operations for Balfour Beatty Construction which she joined after serving in a variety of executive positions for Hensel Phelps Construction Company. Ms. Novak is a member of the iMason’s advisory council and is actively involved in a number of organizations dedicated to the advancement of woman in business including Above the Glass Ceiling (AGC) who are working with Fortune 500 companies to aid in the advancement of women in STEM, Women in Government Relations (WGE), Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE), The World Trade Center Initiative, Fortune Media’s Most Powerful Women and the National Women’s Party. Leads the effort to engage technical staff in the design-assist effort of very fast-track projects, at the earliest stages of development. Works with end-users and their agents to create unique designs and unusual applications of precast concrete building systems.

Drives Metromont’s practice of acting as a specialty precast subcontractor in the data center -- and not just the manufacturer of various precast parts and pieces.
