Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey grew up in northern Virginia and went to the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia on a track scholarship. After graduating with a degree in government, he began running professionally while attending law school at Villanova University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. That’s when he came to Minneapolis to run the Twin Cities Marathon and when he fell in love with the city. The day after graduating, he drove 1,200 miles west to Minneapolis, his chosen home.

As an employment and civil rights attorney, Jacob became an active community organizer. In 2011, he led efforts to launch the Big Gay Race, which raised over $250,000 to help defeat the proposed Minnesota constitutional amendment defining marriage between a man and a woman. He also became involved in advocacy for those experiencing homelessness, helping tenants who lost their homes in North Minneapolis. In 2012, the City of Minneapolis awarded its inaugural Martin Luther King, Jr. Award to Jacob for his civil rights work.

Jacob successfully ran to represent the Third Ward on the city council in 2013. As a Council Member, Jacob focused on constituent services, increasing residential growth, growing the number and variety of small and local businesses, and fully funding affordable housing.

Since his election as Mayor in 2017, Jacob has championed an agenda centered on increasing access to affordable housing throughout the city, strengthening community-police relations, and fueling economic growth through inclusive policies. He has successfully secured record-setting investments for the city’s affordable housing work, boosting efforts to expand and preserve affordable housing. Jacob has worked with Police Chief Medaria Arradondo to shift the department’s culture, enhance accountability, and prioritize officer wellness. From strengthening the police department’s body camera policy to overhauling the department’s use of force policy, Jacob has been persistent in improving public safety in Minneapolis. And to help bridge the city’s racial disparities, the mayor has targeted resources where they’re needed most to accelerate economic growth. He worked with his Council Colleagues to establish seven new Cultural Districts, areas prioritized for investment. To help ensure more entrepreneurs of color have a fair shot at owning their property, he created a first-of-its-kind Commercial Property Development Fund to target resources to neighborhoods that have historically experienced disinvestment.

Jacob lives on the Eastside of Minneapolis with his wife, Sarah Clarke. Sarah practices government relations with a focus on early childhood education.

Jack Boarman founded the multi-discipline and award-winning firm, BKV Group, in 1978 and over the last 40+ years has expanded the company to be national student housing leader with over 190 design professionals working on projects throughout the United States. Recent and notable student housing projects Jack has designed include WaHu Student Apartments and The Marshall, both in Minneapolis, MN; Georgia Heights Apartments in Athens, GA; The Standard at New Brunswick in New Brunswick, NJ; The Standard at Raleigh in Raleigh, NC; and, The Standard at Auburn in Auburn, Alabama.

Robb Bader is the Principal and President. After college, Robb spent 8 years as an investment sales and leasing broker in the California submarkets of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. In 2008, he moved to Minneapolis and started at Bader Diamond Fund. He is in charge of new development and acquisitions for the company.

Robb graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Communications. Since moving to Minneapolis, he has been involved as a member of the Minnesota Multi Housing Association and currently serves on the MHA Board of Directors as well as the leadership committee for the MHA Young Professionals Group.

As Senior Vice President of Development for Lennar Multifamily Communities (LMC), Peter Chmielewski leads the development efforts of the Central Division and concurrently runs the Urban-Chicago and Minneapolis offices. He leads cross disciplinary teams on all site acquisition, contract negotiation, underwriting, entitlement, design, construction administration, and disposition efforts for the Midwest Region. Since joining LMC in 2013, Peter has led the successful completion of six different large-scale multifamily developments in five different cities comprised of over 1,500 units, 75,000SF of retail, and $0.5B of development costs. Peter is an architect turned real estate developer with over a decade of experience on large-scale development projects across the globe. As a design architect with Perkins+Will, Peter led design teams on various asset classes on large scale projects in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. With Hines, he worked on mid-to-high rise multi-family and office projects in Chicago and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Peter studied business at the University of Wisconsin, architecture at the University of Minnesota, and received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Brent Rogers formed Saturday Properties in 2015 to provide boutique property management

and development services to the thriving Minneapolis multifamily and mixed-use industry.

Today Saturday manages four properties with additional developments coming online in 2016

and 2017.

Development Experience:

A development veteran with over 15 years as project manager and owner, Brent Rogers

searches for new development and acquisition opportunities, contracting with 3rd parties for

engineering and design, securing financing, and managing the construction process for new

development projects.

Prior to forming Saturday, Brent was President and co-owner of Greco Properties. After

starting Greco Properties with his business partner in 2007 with one employee, Brent led the

company’s growth to more than 50 employees managing more than 1,000 apartment units and

100,000 SF of commercial/retail.

The Maytag Building, a historic rehab located in Minneapolis’s revitalized North Loop

neighborhood. Developed by Saturday, The Maytag offers 40,000 sq ft of office and retail. It is

financed through Bridgewater Bank and utilizes Historic Tax Credits. The Maytag is currently

Hello Apartments of Golden Valley will come online in spring 2017. On his second project

with developer Continental Property Group, Brent Rogers acts as development consultant

Coming spring 2018, The K/A Downtown Block Redevelopment in the Elliot Park

neighborhood will rise 17 stories and hold 306 units. Brent Rogers was hired as development

Lime Apartments in the Lynlake neighborhood of Minneapolis. Developed by Greco and

currently managed by Saturday, Lime is a new construction mixed-use project with 171

Historic redevelopment by Greco of the Precision Building in the North Loop of Minneapolis

resulted in ElseWarehouse Apartments, a mixed-use project with 116 apartments and 19,000

As Senior Vice President, Jennifer is responsible for overseeing the multifamily business at The Excelsior Group. Jennifer joined The Excelsior Group in 2011 and has grown the portfolio through development, acquisition and third-party management, from 400 units to over 4,000 units.

A 20-year veteran of the real estate industry, Jennifer graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Jacob W. Steen advises and represents businesses, developers, and property owners seeking favorable government approvals including liquor licensing, business licensing, zoning, environmental review, and other ‎regulatory matters. Additionally, Jake has represented clients and industry groups on environmental matters seeking favorable determinations from governmental agencies. His work includes representation before the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and the Environmental Quality Board with regard to state rulemaking for floodplain and shoreland regulations, environmental review determinations and drafting of model rules and regulations.

Bradley J. Schafer serves as Director and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Schafer is a Founding Principal of Schafer Richardson and has over 30 years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to forming Schafer Richardson, Mr. Schafer was Vice President with Griffin Real Estate Company as a leasing and investment specialist for 10 years. Ari Parritz is the Managing Principal of Afton Park, a real estate development company currently working on behalf of Reuter Walton Development and Vermilion Development on multifamily development projects across the Twin Cities. Margaret Ford has exclusively practiced property tax law on behalf of

property owners and managers since 1988. She has dedicated herself

to ensuring that her clients will weather economic downturns  and

manage the upturns by negotiating accurate property tax valuations

for their commercial properties. Margaret has achieved consistent

reductions for many property types, with emphasis on downtown and

suburban office buildings, corporate headquarters, retail, medical and

industrial warehouse buildings.

Margaret's expertise is evidenced by the demand for her to share her

knowledge. Margaret has lectured for attorneys at the Minnesota

Institute of Legal Education. Her comprehension of legal and

practical issues surrounding property valuation also makes her an in-
