Brent Webb, development executive at Mortenson, is integral in leading the company’s national Science and Technology business – focused on solving complex real estate challenges through innovative development solutions that advance his customers’ business goals. A hallmark of his career to date, is leading Mortenson’s partnership with Mayo Clinic to transform their innovation district, Discovery Square. Brent is inspired to work on projects that advance innovation and lead to new discoveries in science and technology to advance humanity.

While Brent is responsible for managing the entire spectrum of developments, including strategy, sourcing, project management, operations, partnerships and financing – his motivation comes from the opportunity to partner with industry leaders to strengthen the physical, social and economic fabric of the community, working together as a catalyst for sustainable and inclusive development.

Brent graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and for the past decade, has been actively involved in the downtown Minneapolis landscape – formerly serving as a board member for the Minneapolis Downtown Council, has co-chaired the Council’s Residential Task Force where he was awarded for his substantial contributions towards the success of Explore Downtown Living. He also serves on the board for PLACE, a local non-profit development company; volunteers with One Village Partners, an NGO that spurs economic development in Sierra Leon; and is a founder of the Hammer, an annual curling tournament supporting Hearts & Hammers, a non-profit that rehabs homes for elderly and disabled individuals in Minnesota

Chris joined Alatus in July of 2015.

As Development Director, Chris is responsible for leading the Alatus commercial and multi-family real estate development portfolio of projects through all facets of the development cycle. This includes project sourcing, initial financial modeling and feasibility analysis, entitlement and approvals processes, design and architectural review, and construction overview and progress tracking, as well as debt and equity placement and execution. Projects currently in Alatus’ pipeline include 12th Street Tower project near the Convention Center, 200 Central Condominiums, in Northeast, and Rice Creek Commons, a master redevelopment of the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in Arden Hills.

Prior to joining Alatus, Chris was a Development Associate with Dominium Development & Acquisition. There, Chris worked to close multiple projects, mainly in affordable housing programs including Section 42 LIHTC and Section 8.

Chris is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Wisconsin School of Business. Chris is also actively involved in the University of Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (UWREAA) and Urban Land Institute. Chris has recently joined panel discussions including Rochester and the DMC initiative, condo market viability in the Twin Cities market, and was a juror for the AIA Merit Awards for 2017.

Jacob W. Steen advises and represents businesses, developers, and property owners seeking favorable government approvals including liquor licensing, business licensing, zoning, environmental review, and other ‎regulatory matters. Additionally, Jake has represented clients and industry groups on environmental matters seeking favorable determinations from governmental agencies. His work includes representation before the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and the Environmental Quality Board with regard to state rulemaking for floodplain and shoreland regulations, environmental review determinations and drafting of model rules and regulations.
