Michael Hackman is the Chief Executive Officer of Hackman Capital Partners, which he founded in 1986. Under his leadership, the company has become a global real estate presence, having invested in properties representing more than $10 Billion in capitalization and approximately 37 million square feet.*

As the world’s largest owner and operator of independent film and television studios, the company has a portfolio of 19 studio campuses, with 145 active sound stages across North America, the UK and Ireland. The company also owns mixed-use, creative office, life-sciences, and industrial properties and has managed more than 500 tenants worldwide, including Amazon Studios, Apple, HBO, CBS, ABC, Columbia Pictures and Warner Brothers.

Michael began his 47-year real estate career in Southern California and spent seven years as an industrial broker at both Majestic Realty and CBRE before launching Hackman Capital Partners. He has directly spearheaded hundreds of complex transactions and liquidations across four continents, laying the foundation for the platform's global expansion.

Michael commits both time and resources to many philanthropic causes. In 2020, he was pivotal in the development of the Changing Lenses initiative, which promotes diversity and inclusion in the film industry through job training, mentorships, and financial assistance. Michael also previously served as a Trustee for The Winward School in Los Angeles and Willows School in Culver City. He currently serves as board member of St. John’s Hospital and is a member of the Executive Board of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles.

with David Lachoff and a variety of strategic partners since joining

Newmark Knight Frank (formerly Grubb & Ellis) in 2004. As a member of

a unique and dynamic team, earning an impressive reputation on strong

negotiating skills, dedication and commitment, Mr. Lachoff has represented

owners, developers, landlords and tenants in a variety of retail and office

leasing and sales transactions. In 2006 he earned the Grubb & Ellis

“Rookie of the Year” award and is an alumnus of the National Association

of Industrial Office Properties (NAIOP-SoCal) Young Professionals Group

(2006-2007).

Kevin served as 2015 Chair of the Board for the Culver City Chamber of

Commerce and served as a Vice Chair (2010-12, 2014, 2016-18) on the

Chamber Board of Directors (2009-present), was Chair of its Governmental

Affairs Committee (2011-12) and member of its affiliate Political Action

Committee (2009-18) and Young Professionals Group (2009-11) and is

recognized as an advocate for Culver City business. He served as an

appointed member of the City of Culver City’s Landlord / Tenant Mediation

Board and Advisory Committee on Redevelopment prior to his current

appointment as a Planning Commissioner (2012-20) by the City Council,

and is an active participant in the Culver City Downtown Business

Association and the West Hollywood Broker Roundtable.
