City Manager Rick Cole has 30 years of experience in public policy and administration. Most recently, he served as Deputy Mayor for Budget and Innovation for the City of Los Angeles where he was responsible for a budget of $8.6 billion and oversaw five city departments with more than 3,000 staff. He also supervised LA's Chief Sustainability, Technology and Data Officers.

For 15 years, Mr. Cole was City Manager of two Southern California cities, Ventura and Azusa. He has been recognized as one of America's Public Officials of the Year by Governing Magazine and one of the "Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers" by Government Technology Magazine. He has won awards for municipal management excellence from the American Society of Public Administrators and the Municipal Management Association of Southern California, as well as for urban planning leadership from the Congress for the New Urbanism.

Mr. Cole served 12 years on the Pasadena City Council and was Mayor when Pasadena adopted its landmark General Plan, an early model for smart growth. Called "one of Southern California's most visionary planning thinkers" by the Los Angeles Times, he has been an active leader in the International City Managers Association and the City Managers Department of the League of California Cities.

As Santa Monica’s City Manager, Mr. Cole is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the City of Santa Monica, which includes implementation of City Council ordinances and policies, oversight of all City departments and a budget of $564 million.

Chris Graham is a Managing Director in the Real Estate group based in Los Angeles and oversees West Coast acquisitions. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Graham worked at J.P. Morgan as a Managing Director and served as the West Coast real estate acquisitions team leader. Previously, he was a manager for the Archon Group where he was involved with commercial investment opportunities and dispositions in the western region. Mr. Graham received a BS from the University of Southern California.

Kent Handleman oversees all leasing activity for LPC West Los Angeles. With over 28 years of transactional experience encompassing over 10 million square feet of space, he manages a portfolio with 4+ million square feet of office projects, and represents ownerships that include LPC West partnerships, associated capital partners, and third-party owners throughout the South Bay, Playa Vista, Culver City, Santa Monica, downtown Los Angeles, Tri-Cities, and the San Fernando Valley. Prior to joining LPC West, Kent led leasing efforts for Thomas Properties Group in Southern California. This included City National Plaza, a 2.6-million square foot premier office complex in downtown Los Angeles, where he successfully leased approximately 2 million square feet as the project was repositioned in the market. Prior to this, Kent worked at CBRE where he represented tenants and landlords in the leasing, disposition and/or marketing of commercial office property. Kent’s tenure in the industry began in real estate acquisitions and financial analysis for a pension fund advisor. After completing his MBA at the USC Marshall School of Business, he joined MetLife Real Estate Investments and, in addition to hotel and multi-family projects, he oversaw leasing and asset management for a 3.5-million square foot office building portfolio, with 2.5 million square feet in downtown Los Angeles. In his capacity as an asset manager, Kent also directed property management, and was responsible for business/investment decisions regarding these office, hotel, and multi-family projects as owner’s representative.

Dean Rostovsky is an equity partner and Director at Clarion Partners as well as an Acquisitions Officer. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, he oversees transaction activity across property types for the Western region. Dean sources and closes varied risk-strategy investments on behalf of Clarion’s $39 billion of client-managed accounts. Dean has experience in both the private equity and fixed income sectors of the real estate market. He re-joined Clarion Partners in 2006 and began working in the real estate industry in 1993.

Lionel Uhry joined Mar Ventures in 2006 and is the Sr. Vice President and Director of Acquisitions & Development for Mar Venture’s investment fund and development activities. As Sr. Vice President, Lionel oversees and directs the origination, underwriting, financing, and closing activities of Mar Ventures. Lionel is also an Adjunct Professor in Real Estate at the University of Southern California.

During his time at Mar Ventures Lionel has played a crucial role in numerous projects totaling over 2,000,000 SF of development and entitlements, including the 378,00 SF Plaza El Segundo retail center, the 220,000 SF elevon creative office campus, the 155,000 SF Del Rey Crossing creative office project, and most recently the Los Angeles Chargers NFL Headquarters and training facility

Gardner Ellner joined the Los Angeles office of CBRE Global Investors in 2014 and is the Director of Acquisitions for the Core Strategies Group. In this capacity, Mr. Ellner oversees the acquisition of all Core/Core Plus institutional investments in the Western United States and is responsible for all facets of the investment process including sourcing, underwriting, negotiating, due diligence and closing real estate transactions.

David Bren is Founder and CEO of CTRL Collective, a creative campus environment which was

His work experience began in 2012 building high end real estate in Bel-Air, Beverly Hills, and

Hollywood Hills while simultaneously schooling at Boston University.

David graduated 2014 Summa Cumme Laude with Bachelor Degrees in Economics, Business

Finance, as well as Business Law from Boston University.

His first company, LA Track Day, follows his passion for cars and offers fans the opportunity to

learn, drive and race in a safe and controlled environment, taking the driving experience to new

levels.

As a member of The Guardians, David also regularly supports the Trevor Project and through CTRL

Collective, proceeds of major events are donated to non-profit organizations throughout the year.

David Bren lives in Los Angeles and is currently spearheading the expansion of CTRL Collective

with additional locations.

Nick oversees the Los Angeles new business practice group for Tangram. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2005, Nick began at Tangram with a focus on the creative, technology, and media clients. Since 2006, Nick has assisted with or primarily executed over 10 million sq. ft. of interiors procurement and delivery for Tangram clients. Tangram ascribes to the simply philosophy that outstanding design and implementation of interiors can directly affect companies’ productivity and -concurrently- their bottom line. Nick’s role is to train and guide the next generation of Tangram to help clients solve the complex design and business challenges they face when designing their workspace.

Dan is graduated from Brighton University in England with Masters in

Project Management for Construction.

Since moving to LA 15 years ago, Dan has worked in the luxury market for

both private and public sector clients on both residential and commercial

projects extensively.

His experience as both a Project Manager and Builder includes High End

Residential, Retail & Restaurant, Commercial Offices, Refurbishments and

Hospitality.

Dan’s skill set includes Feasibility Studies, Design Management,

Procurement, Contract Administration Services as well as Construction

Management.

He is dedicated to transforming the way construction projects are managed

by fully leveraging the advances in communication and technology.

Jonathan is a leader in project visioning and design with diverse range of architectural, interiors and planning experience at Retail Design Collaborative. He has designed numerous award-winning and published projects of various building typologies both nationally and internationally. His transformative projects includes a range of small scale, large scale, mixed-use and master planning centered on a contextual, concept-driven design process.

Jonathan leads with a strong background in innovative architectural interiors and strategic programming with a focus on creative workplace, specialty retail, cultural and community rooted projects. Jonathan has created unique spaces for Apple Beats Campus, Equinox, and the new 32,000 SF urban office for RDC in downtown Long Beach. In addition to his notable work within the profession, Jonathan has taught as adjunct professor at Orange Coast College instructing Design Studios + Architectural Theory and Drawing + Design Visualization and continues to retain involvement as a design critic. He holds the Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo.

Chet Pipkin is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Belkin International in the heart of Silicon

Timothy Law Snyder was named the 16th president of Loyola Marymount University in March 2015 and assumed his responsibilities on June 1, 2015. Snyder has been a professor and administrator for nearly 30 years at Jesuit institutions, most recently as vice president for academic affairs at Loyola University Maryland from 2007-14. He was also dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Fairfield University from 2001-07, and dean of science at Georgetown University from 1995-99. Snyder earned his M.A. and his Ph.D. in applied and computational mathematics from Princeton University. He holds a B.A. in psychology and a B.S. in mathematics, and an M.S. in mathematics from the University of Toledo. He has published and presented widely on his research interests, including computational mathematics, data structures, design and analysis of algorithms, geometric probability, digital signal processing and computer music. Recently, he has been working on risk assessment, with applications in commercial air travel, HIV and other areas. He has spoken nationwide about the Millennial Generation and ways to educate them. He has practiced “technogogy” for more than 20 years and created LCAST, a series of podcasts aimed at helping students. The podcasts also feature original music he has written, arranged, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered; his music can also be found on iTunes and SoundCloud.

Mr. Ollen oversees all leasing responsibilities for Tishman Speyer’s Southern California properties. He joined the company in 2001 and was charged with leasing MGM Plaza in Santa Monica. Prior to joining Tishman Speyer, Mr. Ollen was with Insignia/ESG, where he ran the Agency Group for Los Angeles. Over the course of his career, he has completed over 14 million square feet of transactions for some of the highest profile buildings in the Los Angeles area. Mr. Ollen is an executive member of the Los Angeles Real Estate Association and was named “Top Landlord Office Representative” by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 1994. He received his BS degree in marketing from the University of Maryland.
