Since founding Barker Pacific Group in 1983, Michael Barker has directed the development of over

$3.5 billion in commercial projects. His active focus is the acquisition, development, and management of

pre-leased residential and commercial projects.

Over the past 49 years (since 1973), Mr. Barker has overseen the development of major projects in such

cities as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose, Phoenix, Houston, Miami, and Fort

Lauderdale.

Before starting Barker Pacific Group in 1983, Mr. Barker was an officer at Hines Interests, where he

headed up development of over four million square feet of office space in Tulsa, Houston, and San

Antonio. He also co-founded the asset management firm, First Houston Trust Company, in 1970. From

1968 to 1970, he served as a lending officer in the Energy Department of Citibank, New York.

Mr. Barker has served on the Board for the John Tracy Center, which serves hearing-impaired children,

for the past 16 years, in which he was Chairman for 9 years. He continues to serve on the Board. He is

an active member of the Urban Land Institute and Lambda Alpha International.

Mr. Barker holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BBA from Abilene Christian

University.

Spike Whitney

As Senior Vice President of Asset Management, Mr. Whitney is responsible for the execution of property-level business plans, financing matters, disposition activities and owner/investor communications. He is also responsible for implementing financial, business and management strategies to maximize the value of the firm’s assets in its Coretrust Value Funds.

Prior to joining Coretrust, Mr. Whitney worked in the investments group at CommonWealth Partners, where he most recently led the firm’s West Los Angeles and San Diego office investments. He was responsible for the portfolio’s strategic investment plans, overseeing capital improvement projects, negotiating leases, and coordinating marketing decisions. He was involved in firm acquisitions and served in an investment fiduciary capacity including acquisition underwriting, due diligence, and disposition execution.

Mr. Whitney started his career at Deloitte & Touche in its real estate group working with both public and private companies in the industry.

Mr. Whitney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California, Leventhal School of Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (active).

Jeremy Wustman

Jeremy Wustman is an Investment Manager at Swift Real Estate Partners and is responsible for acquisitions and asset management in Swift’s Southern California markets. Has closed over $2B in transactions across the country. Prior to joining Swift, Jeremy served as VP of Acquisitions & Capital Markets at Gemini Rosemont Realty. He also worked at KBS Realty Advisors focused on both acquisitions and asset management. Jeremy holds a B.S. in Building Science-Civil Engineering from USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering.

Natalie has over 25 combined years of experience as a Senior Managing Director and real estate

Brokerage Professional with the CBRE, Inc. Specializing in Office Properties with extensive experience

in leasing, investment sales, and ground up developments, Natalie focuses her efforts on representing

owners and corporate and office tenants throughout the Tri-Cities markets of Pasadena, Glendale and

Burbank and throughout the San Gabriel Valley.

For 13 years, Natalie was an integral part of the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire’s office market

growth. Her involvement within the commercial real estate community and the Cities and 3 Counties

that make up these Regions, positioned her well in 2008 and for the next 6 years, to oversee two of the

largest Regions in the U.S. as its Senior Managing Director. Charged with growing and overseeing

over 200 sales professionals and staff in the Inland Empire and the Los Angeles North Regions,

Natalie’s insight into and approach to the market in which she now represents Landlords, Tenants,

Some of his recent projects and acquisitions in Pasadena include Ross on South Lake, the Laemmle Theater building on Colorado, Modern Animal and Healthy Spot on Colorado and the development of 645 E Union, a 60,000 square foot mixed-use building across the street from the future Playhouse Village Park. Arash is also vice chair of the Playhouse Village Association and a member of ICSC.

Aaron Marzwell

Aaron Marzwell is the Founder & Co-Managing Partner of APPA Real Estate. Aaron has completed over $5 billion in multi-family and commercial value-added transactions since 1999, including more than 100 multifamily properties and 2,300 units, 546,000 square feet of retail, 675,000 square feet of office and over 1,000 hotel rooms.

Prior to founding APPA, Mr. Marzwell was Vice President of Investment and Development for CIM Group. His responsibilities included market assessment, property identification and negotiation, and the acquisition and disposition of real estate investments, management of the entire development process of the investments, and work out restructuring of distressed assets and investments.

Mr. Marzwell holds a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development and Finance from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Business Administration and Accounting Minor from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Managements (IREM) and Turnaround Management Association (TMA). He has appeared as a guest speaker at various functions, including those for the Urban Land Institute, UCLA and other assorted industry events. Mr. Marzwell currently serves on the Board of Directors for Temple Beth AM and Pressman Academy. He has previously served on the board for various nonprofits.

Robert Montano

As VP of Development, Mr. Montano is responsible for managing developments from

acquisition through entitlements, and construction through sales. These projects

have included residential condo and apartments with various types, from ground

up, to historic adaptive reuse, office conversions. He also oversees the Adept’s

Japan’s Investor office which includes a number of publicly traded transportation

and development focused companies as well as a large pool to high net-worth

individuals and family offices.

Prior to joining Adept Development, Robert spent over two decades in the public

sector with the City of Pasadena and County of Los Angeles in redevelopment and

economic development. While with the City of Pasadena, he was responsible for a

wide variety of public/private partnerships and projects of community-wide

significance. He oversaw retail recruitment efforts contributing to the Old Pasadena,

Playhouse and South Lake Avenue Districts, and was the point person facilitating all

mixed-use and commercial development for the City. Prior to Pasadena, Robert was

a project manager for the East Rancho Dominguez Project area and West Altadena

Redevelopment Project area where he played a role in funding and constructing the

Business Technology Center – a 30,000 high technology business incubator focused

on transferring patents from institutions at NASA’s JPL and Caltech for commercial

purposes, paving the way for the revitalization of the Lincoln Avenue Corridor in

Altadena.

Robert attended Cal Poly Pomona where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in

Urban and Regional Planning.

Colleen Carey

Colleen Carey is a Founding Principal of Lee & Associates-Pasadena, Inc. Colleen has, for

the past twenty five years, assisted both businesses and individuals with the acquisition,

disposition and leasing of commercial properties in the Pasadena Area and beyond. Colleen

has negotiated commercial transactions of up to 50,000 square feet in building size and land

developments up to 40 acres.

Colleen had a successful career in Reinsurance as Branch Manager of the General Reinsurance

office in Los Angeles prior to pivoting to real estate in 1998 in order to be keep her feet on the

ground in LA and be more available to her children. She began her real estate career at Ramsey

Shilling Commercial (now Avison Young) in 1999. Before founding Lee- Pasadena, Ms. Carey

spent 11 years at Coldwell Banker Commercial where she was consistently recognized as a top

producer.

Brian Wallace is the Executive Director of the Playhouse Village Association, which manages a 34-block property-based business improvement district in the heart of downtown Pasadena. Brian’s 25 years of experience in downtown revitalization and community planning began in Pasadena working for the city’s redevelopment agency assisting the city’s business districts. In addition to extensive work throughout Southern California in both the public and private sectors, Brian has worked on revitalization strategies in communities including Chicago, Dallas and Nashville. Brian holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science in Urban Regeneration from University College London and lives in Pasadena with his family.
