Before that, Burton was an attorney in the real estate and corporate groups of O’Melveny & Myers, LLP and served in the White House during the Clinton Administration. Pastor Martin Porter is a visionary leader, faith-based real estate developer, and dedicated pastor in the nation’s oldest African American denomination. As Managing Partner of West Coast-based Logos Faith Development, he leads a pipeline of over 40 projects

totaling more than 2,000 units. With expertise in transformational leadership, real estate development, and faith-based housing, he identified a gap in mission-driven development on church-owned land and built Logos into an industry leader.

Before launching Logos, Pastor Porter held senior leadership roles at national and regional real estate firms, earning recognition as a top producer and recruiter while fostering cultures of retention and growth. His leadership journey is shaped by both personal

trials and professional triumphs.

Born in Asia and raised in the UK and Southern California, he overcame early hardships, finding meaning and purpose in church and ministry. His life experiences and powerful testimony of resilience through faith fuel his commitment to service.

Beyond real estate, Pastor Porter’s ministry is focused on empowering families and developing future leaders. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and is pursuing a master’s in divinity (MDIV), integrating both disciplines to drive lasting

Alice Chen

Alice Chen serves as a Vice President of Portfolio Oversight at CIM Group, where she focuses on advancing the firm’s Opportunity Zone strategy. She plays a central role in overseeing investment performance across each deal’s lifecycle, executing asset-level business plans, and driving portfolio diversification. She is actively involved in shaping key decisions related to liquidity, capital deployment, and asset positioning. She is particularly focused on leveraging the extended, evergreen nature of the Opportunity Zone program to align long-term value creation with investor interests.

Prior to CIM Group, Alice served as a Senior Associate at Gaw Capital USA, where she focused on real estate investments and asset management across major U.S. markets. During this time, she further developed her expertise in navigating complex market dynamics and executing value-driven investment strategies. Earlier in her career, she gained foundational development experience at Shui On Land, one of China’s premier developers of large-scale, master-planned communities. There, she contributed to the planning and execution of transformative mixed-use projects that combined residential, retail, office, and cultural components. This early exposure to large-scale urban redevelopment helped shape her holistic understanding of real estate value creation—from concept through execution and long-term operation.

Alice holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Paul Schon

Born in Mexico City, Paul Schon immigrated with his family to La Jolla, California, at the age of 14. He attended the University of California, Davis, before transferring to the University of California, San Diego, where he earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees.

Paul began his real estate career as a licensed multifamily broker with Marcus & Millichap in the firm’s Los Angeles office. After building a successful brokerage career, he transitioned into real estate investing and development. In 2009, he partnered with Artem Tepler to form Schon Tepler Partners.

He later founded Schon Development Group (SDG), a fully integrated real estate development and investment platform focused on creating and preserving long-term value for its equity partners. SDG’s vertically integrated operations include development, property management through ST Living, and construction through ST Builders, allowing for disciplined execution across every phase of the investment lifecycle.

Beyond real estate, Paul previously served as a board member of FDIC-insured Commerce Bank of Temecula Valley, which merged with Nano Banc in 2018. He is a member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization) and the Real Estate and Construction Division of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles. Paul has also served as a guest lecturer at UCLA and USC in their real estate development programs.

Outside of business, Paul is passionate about sports. He was a Division I wrestler at UC Davis and holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Sandy Albert

Sandy has been in real estate investment management, development, finance, and operations in LA, NYC, and Chicago for 16 years and joined CityPads as a partner in 2021 to help spearhead growth, investment, and development activities. Sandy was an early team member at Common, the largest density focused and technology driven residential brand in the U.S where he helped the company expand into over 7 new markets going from ~200 units to ~8,000 units under management in 5 years. Sandy has held roles in acquisitions, finance, development and asset management in New York City for Adam America Real Estate, one of the most active multifamily & condo developers in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and Andover Properties, one of the largest private owner/operators of self storage facilities in the U.S. Sandy is an active 16-year member of the Urban Land Institute and is based in Los Angeles.

Ben Stapleton

A native Angeleno, Ben Stapleton is a recognized sustainability leader, who brings to this position extensive experience and connections across real estate, technology and innovation. He launched and managed the La Kretz Innovation Campus in Downtown Los Angeles, most recently serving as SVP, Operations & Finance for the LA Cleantech Incubator (LACI). The Campus has become an epicenter for sustainability in the region featuring events with prominent local, national and international leaders, while being home to a community of cutting-edge businesses and nonprofits. At LACI, Stapleton led major operational growth, program development, and partnerships to triple revenue for the non-profit. Simultaneously, he helped lead efforts that resulted in the La Kretz Innovation Campus becoming an iconic green building for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the City of Los Angeles, with multiple certifications, as well as pilot projects targeting waste, water, and energy efficiency. Stapleton has also held the positions of Managing Director of the LA Better Buildings Challenge and Vice President & Cleantech Practice Group Lead at JLL. He has served on the boards of LA Bioscience Hub and USGBC-LA. Representing competing schools in Los Angeles, Stapleton holds a MBA from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Louis Bretaña is the Director of Design at Danielian Associates, where he has helped shape the firm’s philosophy and studio culture for over 20 years. An NCARB-certified architect and USC School of Architecture graduate, his award-winning portfolio spans luxury estates, multifamily housing, senior and age-targeted communities, clubhouses, and mixed-use developments across the U.S. and internationally in China, Africa, and the Middle East.

Louis is also an active contributor to the profession, serving as a judge for architectural awards and participating in organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the National Association of Home Builders, the AIA, and the USC Architectural Guild.

Matthew Haas

Matthew Haas is SVP for Key Bank’s CDLI team covering CA, NM, AZ and NV. In this role, as a senior banker,

Matthew works to advance community lending and investment opportunities with for profit and nonprofit developers of

affordable housing for both LIHTC properties and workforce / missing middle housing. While at KeyBank over the past

two years, he has financed over 2,000 units totaling almost $400mm in debt. In addition, he has advanced the growth

of KeyBank’s equity syndications platform by identifying new partner investors for both debt and equity participations.

Prior to Key Bank, Matthew Haas was the Director of Investor Relations for the Western US at Berkadia Affordable

Housing Tax Credit Solutions, a national syndicator of affordable housing credits for 2 1⁄2 years and Director of Investor

Relations and Fund Management for 8 years at Merritt Community Capital, a nonprofit CA-only syndicator. In these two

positions, Matthew was able to raise over $600 million in equity for 63 properties financing over 5,000 units of

affordable housing.

Matthew has over 25 years of affordable housing and community development experience in three major markets of

NY, Illinois and California having been employed by key organizations and companies involved in the planning,

development and financing of affordable housing. He has held positions as Deputy Director of California Lending at the

Low Income Investment Fund, a national CDFI; Multifamily Manager of LIHTC funds for Community Investments at

Fannie Mae, a GSE; a VP and Client Manager for Community Development lending at Bank of America; a Senior

Acquisitions Officer at National Equity Fund; and Senior Program Manager for Illinois Housing Development Authority.

Matthew’s other professional positions have included Assistant Director of Senior Housing and Healthcare

Development at St. Nicholas Neighborhood Preservation Corporation in Brooklyn, NY and Assistant Architect and

Project Development Manager for the New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Matthew has an M.S. in Urban Planning from Columbia University and a B.A. in Architecture / Environmental Design

from UC Berkeley. Currently, Matthew serves on the Board of Holos Communities and is a Project Review Committee

Member for Innovative Housing Opportunities.

Alexandria Hoevel

A life-long resident of Los Angeles, Alexandria has been practicing Architecture and Urban Design for 20 years. With a deeper understanding of a project’s relationship to its urban context and the neighborhood surrounding it, she’s worked extensively on multi-family and mixed used developments both internationally and in the Southwestern US. Alexandria’s recent focus has been creating affordable housing that is innovative, equitable and impactful. Since graduating from Cal Poly Pomona, she has had the opportunity to be a part of a handful of well-respected and eclectic firms in the region and is currently the Director of Los Angeles for Lowney Architecture. Outside of the office, Alexandria devotes her free time to her community, mentorship, and to supporting equality within the field of Architecture. She’s an incoming chair for the AIA Los Angeles Women in Architecture Committee for 2024, and is also an active member of ULI and AWA+D

Zack Reimers

With a background rooted in analytics and advocacy, Zack focuses on solving problems most brokers don’t touch – valuation alignment, risk engineering, and portfolio leveraging that directly protects NOI and investor outcomes. Omari Robinson

Omari Robinson is a business development and real estate executive focused on helping organizations identify new growth opportunities and bring innovative housing solutions to market. As a leader at Villa Homes, he works with multifamily owners, developers, and strategic partners to expand housing supply through offsite construction and ADU development. He specializes in identifying underutilized real estate opportunities and developing partnerships that unlock additional value through innovative housing solutions.

Prior to Villa Homes, Omari served as Vice President of Acquisitions & Business Development at redT Homes and Vice President of Acquisitions & Investor Relations at Skymount Property Group, where he led business development, acquisitions, and investor relationships. Earlier in his career, he developed his sales and client acquisition expertise at Paycom and began his professional career in group sales with the Cleveland Browns.

Omari earned his Bachelor's degree in Sport and Fitness Administration and Business from Grand Valley State University, where he was also a collegiate football player. His background across athletics, technology sales, real estate, and business development has shaped a collaborative, relationship-driven leadership style centered on creating long-term value for clients, partners, and the communities they serve.

development and construction for all residential projects at KPRS, including market-rate, senior living, senior assisted and affordable residential.

For the past 35 years, Eric has solely focused his career on the multifamily market, having constructed over 20,000 units. His narrowed insight and expertise have made him a sought-after builder by clients throughout the west coast.

Eric’s dynamic leadership has allowed him to grow and expand numerous teams and their capabilities throughout his tenure at KPRS. With a focus on quality, craftsmanship and technical applications, each unit he builds is given the attention of an individual home.

Michael Mathews

Michael Mathews is the Founder and CEO of Assemblage Works, Inc.
