Jaime Lee

Jaime Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of the Jamison group of companies, a privately-held, family-run real estate business, which controls over 18 million square feet of commercial office, retail, medical, and multifamily properties throughout Southern California. Jamison has been one of the largest commercial landlords in Los Angeles for the past twenty-five years. Since 2014, it has quickly become one of the city’s most active multifamily developers as well, bringing to market 5,000 units with an additional 2,500 units currently under construction and 7,500 more in development. Earning both BA and JD degrees from the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles native currently sits on the USC Board of Trustees where she co-chairs the Alumni Affairs and University Development committee and sits on the Executive, Audit Compliance Risk & Privacy, Nominating & Governance, and Academic Affairs committees. She is also a member of the Board of Councilors for the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and an Executive Committee member of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. A longtime university volunteer, Jaime previously served as President of the USC Alumni Association Board of Governors and President of the USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association Board of Directors. Jaime is active with her high school alma mater, where she is a member of the Harvard-Westlake Board of Trustees and a founding member of its inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. Jaime is also involved in a number of civic and non-profit organizations at the city, state, and community levels. She has served the City of Los Angeles as an appointed commissioner under three different mayoral administrations. Appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti, she was elected President of the Board of Harbor Commissioners for the Port of Los Angeles in April 2018, the largest container port by trade volume in the western hemisphere. She also serves on the Mayor’s International Advisory Council and as co- chair of the public-private partnership non-profit Global LA. She previously served for four years as President of the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System Board of Administration, which oversees the City’s $22 billion employee pension fund, and on the boards for the Industrial Development Authority and the Quality and Productivity Commission. She currently serves the State of California as Vice Chair of the California Film Commission and previously spent seven years as a commissioner on the Speech Language Pathology, Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board. Jaime is active in the community as a board member of the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2028 where she sits on the Executive, Compensation, and Conflicts committees, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council & Town Hall, and the Korean American Foundation Advisory Board. Recognized for her professional and civic contributions, Jaime has been named one of the 500 most influential people in Los Angeles by the LA Business Journal every year since 2018. She was honored by Asia Society Southern California as their 2020 Urban Visionary, by the USC School of Architecture with their 2021 Distinguished Business Leadership Award, and in 2022 with the LA Parks Foundation’s Rose Award and a Los Angeles Times Woman of Influence Award. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their three children.

Matthew Haas

Matthew Haas is SVP for Key Bank’s CDLI team covering CA, NM, AZ and NV. In this role, as a senior banker, Matthew works to advance community lending and investment opportunities with for profit and nonprofit developers of affordable housing for both LIHTC properties and workforce / missing middle housing. While at KeyBank over the past two years, he has financed over 2,000 units totaling almost $400mm in debt. In addition, he has advanced the growth of KeyBank’s equity syndications platform by identifying new partner investors for both debt and equity participations. Prior to Key Bank, Matthew Haas was the Director of Investor Relations for the Western US at Berkadia Affordable Housing Tax Credit Solutions, a national syndicator of affordable housing credits for 2 1⁄2 years and Director of Investor Relations and Fund Management for 8 years at Merritt Community Capital, a nonprofit CA-only syndicator. In these two positions, Matthew was able to raise over $600 million in equity for 63 properties financing over 5,000 units of affordable housing. Matthew has over 25 years of affordable housing and community development experience in three major markets of NY, Illinois and California having been employed by key organizations and companies involved in the planning, development and financing of affordable housing. He has held positions as Deputy Director of California Lending at the Low Income Investment Fund, a national CDFI; Multifamily Manager of LIHTC funds for Community Investments at Fannie Mae, a GSE; a VP and Client Manager for Community Development lending at Bank of America; a Senior Acquisitions Officer at National Equity Fund; and Senior Program Manager for Illinois Housing Development Authority. Matthew’s other professional positions have included Assistant Director of Senior Housing and Healthcare Development at St. Nicholas Neighborhood Preservation Corporation in Brooklyn, NY and Assistant Architect and Project Development Manager for the New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Matthew has an M.S. in Urban Planning from Columbia University and a B.A. in Architecture / Environmental Design from UC Berkeley. Currently, Matthew serves on the Board of Holos Communities and is a Project Review Committee Member for Innovative Housing Opportunities.

Amy Sims is a pioneer in housing design and construction, ushering in new standards of building efficiency and sustainability through her innovative work at the intersection of architecture and manufacturing. Sims entered the field of homebuilding as a carpenter at Vermont’s Yestermorrow Design/ Build School, where she learned basic trades and energy-efficient building techniques that would inform the course of her career. Designing office interiors and a variety of commercial and residential projects at AECOM, Ellerbe Becket, and Richard Meier & Partners, Sims contributed to landmark projects like Ernst & Young’s Workplace of the Future and the Rand Corporation’s corporate headquarters, which integrated occupant health and architectural design decades before the concept entered the mainstream. In 2006 Sims co-founded the award-winning design studio LivingHomes, working with Ray Kappe, AIA, to help design the first home ever to achieve Platinum certification in the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes program. It was the first of many LEED- certified homes Sims would design and deliver utilizing offsite construction. In 2016 Sims helped launch housing prefabrication startup Plant Prefab and applied her technical design skills with her hands-on experiences in both site-based building and factory fabrication to help develop the company’s innovative Plant Building SystemTM. Utilizing advanced engineering to drive efficiency and quality, the hybrid system is the first and only of its kind to combine panelized and modular building systems to fabricate any housing typology in any style of architecture 20-50% faster than site-based building with industry-leading quality and minimal waste. Sims established Plant Prefab’s design review services and developed detailed design guidelines to assist architects making the transition to offsite fabrication. Today, she focuses on education and outreach to the design, development, and construction community, helping project teams save time and deliver stakeholder value through offsite fabrication. Sims donates her time and talents as design partner for the UCLA Solar Decathlon team, a mentor for the National Organization of Minority Students (NOMA), and a conservation volunteer for the National Audobon Society. As a leading resource in sustainable and fire-defensive home design and construction, she also instructs architects, builders, and home owners in fire-defensive design, construction, and retrofits as a volunteer for the Los Angeles Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC-LA).
