As Founder and Chief Executive Office, Michael Sorochinsky is the visionary of CEI and the driving force behind the company's 3.5 Billion Real Estate portfolio. Michael's investment strategies, business philosophy, and transaction execution diligence has brought about substantial annualized returns to equity.

From 2001 through 2005 Michael focused CEI's investments in the Value Add Multi-family space, purchasing 70 properties comprising 3500 apartments.

In late 2006, Michael began to notice significant stress on the credit markets and by 2007 advised his partners to start selling properties. Under Michaels leadership, CEI successfully sold approximately 80% of its portfolio for significant gains prior to the crash of 2008. In 2008 through 2010, Michael focused CEI's investments on purchasing blocks of single family homes in some of the hardest hit areas in the country as well as investing in real estate related operating companies.

In 2010, before large numbers of developers jumped into the multi-family development game, Michael saw an opportunity to build Class A apartments in Los Angeles and other top cities around the country and led CEI to amass a development pipeline of over 5100 luxury apartments with projected value in excess of 3.5 billion.

Alla Sorochinsky is the Managing Director of CWP and is responsible for acquisitions, financing and asset management. Since 2001, Alla was the Chief Financial Officer of Cypress Equity Investments where she developed and managed the company's asset repositioning and financial reporting infrastructure. Alla oversaw all aspects of the company, including acquisitions, finance, asset management and dispositions.

Previously, Alla was the financial controller of several publicly traded technology companies. Alla graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in International Economics and received a Master's degree from the University of Southern California. Upon graduation Alla joined BDO Seidman LLP where she received her CPA license.

Larry oversees the company’s multifamily development activities throughout the western United States. Larry has 27 years in the residential investment industry, including extensive development, acquisition and asset management experience of multifamily rental and for-sale communities. Prior to joining Fairfield Residential in 2011, he was managing director of Urban Housing Group (a subsidiary of The Marcus & Millichap Company) overseeing development in the western United States. Previously, he was a senior vice president for AvalonBay Communities Inc., where he led the company’s residential development efforts throughout southern California and was responsible for developing over 2,400 apartment homes. Larry has also held senior officer positions for Archstone Communities Trust and Lincoln Property Company where he was involved in developing and acquiring over 10,000 multifamily units. Larry received his BA in accounting from California State University, Fullerton. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and a licensed California real estate broker. His professional affiliations include the Urban Land Institute and the National Multi-Housing Council.

Mr. Noah Hochman is the Senior Managing Director of Capital Markets for TruAmerica Multifamily and brings 18 years of real estate investment and private equity experience to his role. Mr. Hochman is responsible for sourcing equity capital, investor relations and debt strategy across the portfolio and oversees joint venture structuring and partnerships. Mr. Hochman is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.

Prior to joining TruAmerica Multifamily, Mr. Hochman served as Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions at Triumph Management Company. Prior to joining Triumph, Mr. Hochman served as Vice President of Acquisitions for Granite Peak Partners.

Mr. Hochman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA and is a graduate of the Anderson Graduate School of Management Mergers & Acquisitions Program at UCLA.

Leads JPMorgan’s efforts in covering institutional real estate companies in

Southern California, overseeing a portfolio that includes some of the largest

real estate development companies and fund managers on the West Coast.

Vice Chair of JPMorgan’s Los Angeles Market Leadership Team, Chair of

JPMorgan’s West Coast Diversity Hiring Committee and serves on the

Executive Committee at the University of Southern California Lusk Center for

Real Estate.

Prior to joining JPMorgan, was a vice president at Bank of America Merrill

Lynch, where he underwrote and arranged over $2B in financings for a

number of prominent Los Angeles-based real estate companies. Previously

worked as an internal consultant for PNC Bank, where he focused on the

launch of the company’s residential mortgage division.

Earned his Master of Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon

University and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of

Notre Dame. Has been a guest speaker for The Wharton School at the

University of Pennsylvania, the National Football League and numerous

schools and non-profit organizations in South Central Los Angeles and his

native Washington, DC. Charities that he supports include JPMorgan’s

Fellowship Initiative (Executive Co-Sponsor) and The Brotherhood Crusade

(Board Advisory Committee Member). Resides in Los Angeles with his wife

and their three children.

Brian Eisendrath sources aggressive capital for institutional and high net worth clients. His ranking as one of the top originators in the country has garnered him extensive industry recognition. Brian is able to quickly and effectively meet the needs of his clients by tailoring a financing solution that is unique to their property-specific business plan. By leveraging extensive life insurance company, bank, CMBS, and bridge lending relationships, as well as CBRE’s direct lending relationships with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, Brian and his team are able to customize capital to maximize return on investment.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Real Estate and Finance, Brian began his career as an office developer with Hines. Following Hines, he worked for a bridge lender in Chicago whose focus was construction and repositioning opportunities. Brian then decided to become a capital intermediary and joined HFF. In 2005, he joined CBRE.

Perry J. Pound is the Managing Partner of Cambridge Pacific, a capital formation and infrastructure investment platform that finances the physical layer of the intelligence economy. The firm partners with institutional investors, family offices, developers, and infrastructure sponsors to originate, finance, and scale data centers, energy infrastructure, and strategic real assets. Since inception, Cambridge Pacific has executed and advised on more than $1 billion of transactions.

Over a 24-year career spanning $4.5B+ in institutional real estate and infrastructure transactions, Perry built and led Greystar's Southern California Development Division, deploying $1.5B+ across institutional development and raising $650M+ in equity from global pensions and sovereign wealth funds. His earlier work at Recurrent Energy covered utility-scale solar acquisitions — land control, interconnection position, and offtake diligence — experience directly relevant to today's powered land market.

Perry holds a Master of Arts from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, with a concentration in International Finance & Banking and cross-registration at Harvard Business School, along with a B.A., cum laude, from Pepperdine University. He splits his time between Texas, New York, and Paris.

Michael H. Krupa serves as the President of Gemdale USA. He brings a wealth of real estate investment, business development, and operations experience to the company. Mr. Krupa oversees day-to-day management of various aspects of the company’s operations and plays a leading role in setting and monitoring company-wide strategy. Prior to joining Gemdale USA in February 2013, Mr. Krupa served as Managing Director at The Milestone Group from 2009 to 2013, where he also served on Milestone's Investment Committee. From 2001 to 2009 he was an Executive Director in two divisions within UBS. Mr. Krupa also served on the Board of Directors of Mitsubishi Corp.-UBS Realty Inc., the externally advised asset manager to two Tokyo Stock Exchange listed J-REITs, Japan Retail Fund as well as Industrial and Infrastructure Fund. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Krupa served in investment banking capacities at McDonald Investments (a unit of Key Bank), Salomon Smith Barney and one of its predecessors, Salomon Brothers, Inc., as well as at Kidder, Peabody and Company. Mr. Krupa is Adjunct Professor of International Real Estate at New York University. Mr. Krupa received his Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School. He is a CPA, a member of the Harvard Alumni Real Estate Board of Directors, and is past member of the Board of Directors of the National Multi-Housing Council.

Charles Tourtellotte is the President and Chief Executive Officer of LaTerra. Mr. Tourtellotte’s real estate investment management experience includes more than 30 years of successful senior management positions with institutions and public companies, as well as, entrepreneurial ventures, including all aspects of capital formation, property acquisitions, asset management and dispositions. At the entrepreneurial level, Mr. Tourtellotte founded three companies, one of which became a publicly traded company. Mr. Tourtellotte served as CEO for each of these companies.

Prior to LaTerra, Mr. Tourtellotte founded Shoreline Communities, a real estate development company specializing in both single and multifamily projects primarily in San Diego County, California. Shoreline and its management team completed development of more than 1,000 multifamily units and 2,000 single family homes.

In 1992, Mr. Tourtellotte founded MetroGolf, Inc., a NASDAQ traded company, which owned, acquired, developed, and managed golf courses and driving ranges across the United States. As President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Tourtellotte took MetroGolf, Inc. public in 1996 with an IPO, and later led MetroGolf through a merger and acquisition transaction with another NASDAQ listed company.

Mr. Tourtellotte served as a Senior Acquisitions Officer at two national real estate investment companies, Consolidated Capital and Robert A. McNeil Corporation, where he acquired more than 12,000 multifamily units and 10,000,000 square feet of commercial office and retail properties in major markets throughout the United States.

A graduate of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, Mr. Tourtellotte has taught real estate and finance courses at the University of Denver and the University of Colorado. He has been featured on the Today Show, CNN and CNN/FN.

Mike Ballard is a partner at Ascent Multifamily Accounting and has worked in the real estate and accounting industries for almost 30 years. Early in Mike’s career, he worked in the Information Systems Consulting group for Laventhol & Horwath, CPAs. After Laventhol, he joined McGladrey & Pullen before starting his own consulting firm. At Ascent, Mike leads Ascent’s consulting practice, where he advises multifamily clients on strategic planning, process improvement, and tax credits.

Mike was a founding member of the board of the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies at University of Nevada, Las Vegas and also helped with the formation of the local National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and Construction Financial Management Association chapters. In 2010, Mike was named one of the “Top 20 Visionaries” in Nevada by Nevada Business magazine. Mike has served on the boards of several for-profit companies and not-for-profit organizations. He has helped start three banks and served on the board of Black Mountain Community Bank.

MARK SANDERS is co-founder and Principal of Fifteen Group. While Mark and his brother Ian are the entrepreneurial spirit behind Fifteen Group which they founded in 1992, Mark’s primary role is evaluating potential new opportunities and overseeing the transaction side of the business. Mark’s responsibilities also include raising capital from investors and lenders and overseeing Fifteen Group’s West Coast operations. Under Mark’s leadership, Fifteen Group has completed more than 75 unique real estate transactions with an investment performance that is extraordinary by any measure. After assembling a portfolio of nearly 20,000 apartment units nationwide, Fifteen Group monetized the majority of its portfolio between 2005 and 2007. During the subsequent downturn Fifteen Group strategically deployed its capital in South Florida and Southern California across multiple property types and continues to be an early mover in emerging neighborhoods. Fifteen Group's transactions range from simple property acquisitions to acquisitions of distressed debt, complex land entitlements, land development and vertical development. Mark received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Real Estate from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the Board of Councilors of the USC Price School of Public Policy. He is active in a number of local and national philanthropies, and he leads the Fifteen Group Foundation with his brother Ian

Mr. Concannon has spent his entire 24-year career within the construction industry, and brings a well-balanced and diverse background to his leadership positions. His experience ranges from business development and strategic planning to managing large-scale capital programs and overseeing Lendlease’s Environmental Health & Safety for the Americas. He is currently responsible for Lendlease’s Los Angeles operations, including $1.8 billion of construction contracts underway. Born and raised in Chicago, Mike has been based in Los Angeles for the past 10 years and now calls Southern California home.

Bill Strang serves as President of the Americas’ Operations for TOTO USA and Chairman of TOTO Mexico. In these capacities, he is responsible for all of TOTO’s North American operations, including supply chain, design and development engineering, quality, ISO, environmental resource management, and management of TOTO’s five North American plants with 1.8 million sf under roof.

Under Bill’s leadership, TOTO has received numerous awards and recognitions for its leadership in environmental resource conservation, including the U.S. EPA’s Water Efficiency Leadership award (TOTO is the only plumbing manufacturer so honored); former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue’s Water Conservation Leadership award; the South face Sustainable Homebuilders’ Argon* award; the City of Atlanta’s Phoenix Award, and the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s River Sustainability award. Recently, the Brookings Institution distinguished TOTO for its leadership in Clean Economy jobs creation.

Neal is a Senior Principal at Torti Gallas + Partners and leads the firm’s office

in Los Angeles. Focused on the infill and refill of cities and towns, his efforts

center on designing residential and mixed-use buildings in urban and urbanizing

locations and in the redevelopment of neighborhoods and downtowns. A large

focus of his work is neighborhood making, with market rate, affordable and

workforce housing. Working across scales, the common themes in all of his

efforts are: connectivity to transit networks, a focus on walkable urbanism; infill;

and public participation in the design process.

Neal’s efforts have been honored with national awards for Urban Design and

housing, from the AIA, the Congress for the New Urbanism, and the Urban Land

Institute, among other organizations. Neal has a B. Arch. from Carnegie Mellon

University, and an M. Arch. from Syracuse University.

Mark R. Hartney is the former co-chair of the firm's Construction Practice Group. His practice centers on real estate, construction and business litigation, including contract, partnership, banking, land use, rent valuation, habitability and administrative claims. Additionally, Mark negotiates and drafts complex construction, architect and engineer contracts. By way of his focus on both construction contracts and litigation, Mark is uniquely qualified to provide clients with broad advice and counsel on all aspects of construction projects. Mark represents individuals as well as a variety of business entities, and has extensive trial and alternative dispute resolution experience. His experience includes co-chairing a nine-month $150 million jury trial stemming from the collapse of a high-rise resort hotel, numerous other state court trials, dozens of arbitrations and many cases resolved through mediation. He has represented clients before various federal, state, city and county boards and agencies. He has extensive experience in representing businesses in administrative hearings and writ actions involving contracts with public agencies.
