Sierra Atilano joined BRIDGE Housing as Executive Vice President – Head of Development and Southern California in October 2022. In this new role, Ms. Atilano is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of BRIDGE’s real estate development activities across all regions, and provides day-to-day leadership in Southern California.

During her career of 25+ years, Ms. Atilano has developed more than 3,130 apartment homes in 17 cities across three states, and one million square feet of commercial retail. Prior to BRIDGE, she was Chief Executive Officer of Skid Row Housing Trust, a respected developer, manager and operator of permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals in the Los Angeles area.

Ms. Atilano began her career at one of the largest Real Estate Investment Trusts, Lincoln Property Company, where she gained a firm foundation in leadership and portfolio oversight, then joined a construction company specializing in multifamily new construction and rehab projects. She subsequently worked for several family-owned developers such as Cal-American, Korda Construction and Miller Family Companies, where her unique experience in project and portfolio management earned her a reputation as a problem solver and an asset to the finance and development teams. Later, at Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation and Watt Residential, she applied her expertise in finance and portfolio management to affordable housing. Over the last 12 years, Ms. Atilano honed her asset management and development expertise working for developers AMCAL Residential and Skid Row Housing Trust.

Sanat Patel has been in the commercial banking industry for over twenty-five years. Currently, Sanat is the Chief Sales Officer at AVANA Capital heading up Business Development and is a member of the Credit & Risk Administration Team at AVANA Capital. Sanat excels at creating dynamic financing solutions to allow entrepreneurs to realize their dreams of creating wealth for themselves, and their families. His passion and drive are key to closing over $1 billion in loans as of 2017 YTD.

Sanat has served in various functions of commercial banking – serving clients in small business, middle market, and large corporate banking within Wells Fargo Bank, Citibank and JP Morgan. His competitive drive resulted in him being ranked in the top 10% of the nation as a Banker at the institution’s throughout his career.

Sanat’s career in the Financial Industry began in 1989 after graduating from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelors degree with a dual major in Finance and Management Science and a minor in Economics. In 2008, Sanat graduated and completed the Banking Degree offered by Pacific Coast Banking School, held at University of Washington.

Senior Vice President-Development, Student Living with The Michaels Organization (Michaels), leading the company’s public-private partnerships with higher education institutions in California, by bringing nearly 20 years of real estate development and finance experience including the development of large-scale housing and dining facilities that utilized public-private partnership (P3) delivery models. In addition to delivering P3 real estatement development projects on-campus, Raoul is the company's leader for off-campus student housing development in California.

Michael Mathews is the Founder and CEO of Assemblage Works, Inc. (AWI), a multi-disciplinary, vertically integrated architecture, construction management and development company that operates throughout the nation. We specialize in the creation, management and execution of sustainable urban infill multi-family, hospitality and commercial projects across the western United States.

Mathews’ expertise as a senior development, design and construction executive spans all facets of complex and large-scale ($500MM+) real estate projects for a variety of prominent design, development and construction organizations nationwide, including executive roles with KB Urban, Forest City and Davis Reed Construction, among others.

In these roles, he has delivered over 6,000 units to the markets in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Southern California, Texas, Seattle and Denver metropolitan areas.

Mathews, a licensed Architect, is also an expert in off-site construction methodologies, including prefab, volumetric, panelized and mass timber construction. He has national experience in project due diligence, entitlement, design, finance, construction and construction management.

Nick brings more than 20 years of experience in designing and shepherding multifamily developments in California including affordable, market-rate, student housing and senior living communities. He is an industry leader in off-site construction and modular design having permitted more than 2,500 units of factory-built housing in California. Nick is passionate about urban infill housing and inspired by the opportunity to develop projects that contribute to the unique and complex fabric of the cities they are in.

A graduate of California College of the Arts architecture program, Gomez is a native Californian and proud of his Bay Area roots. He is active in the East Bay community and serves on the Modular Building Institute (MBI) Design Professionals Advisory Council and the Alameda Public Art Advisory Council (PAAC).

Geene Alhady began his career with McCarthy Building Companies holding various roles including managing large construction projects in the healthcare and high-tech industries. In the years that followed, Geene served as president of Meridian Systems, a plan-build-operate technology solutions company, and then as general manager of Trimble Buildings’ Real Estate and Workplace Solutions Division.

Geene joined Clark Pacific in 2016 bringing his organizational and marketing expertise and now serves as Clark Pacific’s president.

As Chief Operating Officer for Decro Corporation, Ms. Vandeweghe is responsible for the expansion of Decro’s affordable portfolio and the daily operation of Decro’s pipeline developments, including the coordination of the financing, construction and operation of all new developments, including an affordable, mixed-use, mixed-income development with 50,000 square feet of commercial space and approximately 200 units proposed to be built in Los Angeles.

Ms. Vandeweghe comes to Decro Corporation with more than 15 years of experience in complex, mixed-use development transactions. She has entitled more than 4,700 housing units in California and developed more than 1,500 multi-family units in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, including 90 affordable units.

Ms. Vandeweghe is a veteran in structuring complex real estate transactions comprised of multi-layered financing using New Market Tax Credits (NMTCs) and Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs), and successfully bringing difficult projects to fruition, including Del Mar Station in Pasadena, California and the Wilshire Vermont Station in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Decro, Ms. Vandeweghe was a managing member of a real estate development and asset management firm that handled the entitlements for the 1,100 acre master planned community in unincorporated Imperial County, California, Rancho Los Lagos, comprised of 3,800 housing units, a 100 acre business park, 10 acres of commercial, a 40-acre community park, two schools and an active adult golf community. She was vice president at CityScape Capital Group, LLC, where she managed new market, historic, and energy tax credit portfolios worth more than $100 million, and director of marketing and asset management at Urban Partners, LLC where she oversaw a portfolio of over $1 billion in development in Los Angeles and Seattle.

Ms. Vandeweghe holds a Master in Business Administration with an emphasis in real estate from the University of California, Los Angeles Anderson School of Management, a Master in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University. She is a member of the American Planning Association and Urban Land Institute.

Jim has degrees in both Civil Engineering and Architecture. Before founding Stack Modular, he led the construction of over $1 billion US worth of commercial office towers, high-end condominiums, and university buildings.

Jim’s extensive education, leadership experience as a Professional Engineer, penchant for global travel, and desire to deliver modular buildings globally, led him to Shanghai, China. Here, Jim produced one of the first Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprises owned solely by a Canadian.

As President and Founder of Stack Modular, he hired architects, engineers, and project managers from Canada, the USA, and China to oversee design and construction, as well as product delivery to the rest of the world.

Justin Stewart is the CEO and Owner of 8-time National Excellence in Construction Award winning Synergy, Inc, and industry disrupting Synergy Modular. Synergy has built over 10,000 units and countless commercial projects as a GC over the last three decades in the Pacific Northwest. In 2017, in response to a demand for predictability, Justin founded Synergy Modular, building projects at a fixed cost, in 30-50% less time.

Eric Olsen is the Principal in Charge of TCA’s Los Angeles office, and a partner in the firm. He has 28 years of experience in master planning, residential/mixed-use architecture, TOD, high rise, and affordable housing. In his role, Eric leads project teams and provides overall office management. He also provides leadership for the Architecture Department for TCA and acts on the firm’s Board of Director’s Executive Committee. Eric also serves as cochair of the ULI Los Angeles Housing Council.

Eric’s DTLA office has recently completed several notable mixed-use and high-density housing projects, including G-12 and Olive DTLA, The Camden, Cumulus, Hanover Grand, and El Monte Veterans Village a 42-unit affordable housing SRO serving military veterans in El Monte, CA. In addition to architectural education, Eric’s study includes a specialized degree in architectural history and urban planning.

His designs have been recognized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Congress of the New Urban (CNU), The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Pacific Coast Builder’s Conference (PCBC), among others. Eric is a speaker on housing and high-density design at industry events, and volunteers as a studio critic at Cal Poly Pomona’s School of Environmental Design.

His projects have been featured in industry publications such as Urban Land Magazine, Green Home Builder, Architectural West, Builder Magazine, and Multi-Housing News. Eric holds an NCARB certificate and is licensed in California, Hawaii, Arizona, New Jersey, South Carolina, Nevada, and Montana. He received a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA) and holds a MA from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Eric and his family are long-time Long Beach residents and frequent visitors to Hawai’i.

Matthew Haas is SVP for Key Bank’s CDLI team covering CA, NM, AZ and NV. In this role, as a senior banker,

Matthew works to advance community lending and investment opportunities with for profit and nonprofit developers of

affordable housing for both LIHTC properties and workforce / missing middle housing. While at KeyBank over the past

two years, he has financed over 2,000 units totaling almost $400mm in debt. In addition, he has advanced the growth

of KeyBank’s equity syndications platform by identifying new partner investors for both debt and equity participations.

Prior to Key Bank, Matthew Haas was the Director of Investor Relations for the Western US at Berkadia Affordable

Housing Tax Credit Solutions, a national syndicator of affordable housing credits for 2 1⁄2 years and Director of Investor

Relations and Fund Management for 8 years at Merritt Community Capital, a nonprofit CA-only syndicator. In these two

positions, Matthew was able to raise over $600 million in equity for 63 properties financing over 5,000 units of

affordable housing.

Matthew has over 25 years of affordable housing and community development experience in three major markets of

NY, Illinois and California having been employed by key organizations and companies involved in the planning,

development and financing of affordable housing. He has held positions as Deputy Director of California Lending at the

Low Income Investment Fund, a national CDFI; Multifamily Manager of LIHTC funds for Community Investments at

Fannie Mae, a GSE; a VP and Client Manager for Community Development lending at Bank of America; a Senior

Acquisitions Officer at National Equity Fund; and Senior Program Manager for Illinois Housing Development Authority.

Matthew’s other professional positions have included Assistant Director of Senior Housing and Healthcare

Development at St. Nicholas Neighborhood Preservation Corporation in Brooklyn, NY and Assistant Architect and

Project Development Manager for the New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Matthew has an M.S. in Urban Planning from Columbia University and a B.A. in Architecture / Environmental Design

from UC Berkeley. Currently, Matthew serves on the Board of Holos Communities and is a Project Review Committee

Member for Innovative Housing Opportunities.

Paul Cho joined LifeArk as the Chief Financial Officer after serving as the COO/CFO and Co-Founder of The Illumination Foundation for 13 years. Paul established Illumination Housing LLC, a social impact investment fund for the purpose of acquiring and developing properties to provide housing for the homeless. Prior to his nonprofit work, he was an investment banker with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch for 16 years executing corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and private equity transactions in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Seoul.

Erica has long been interested in the design of urban environments in ways that honor the natural resources on which our lives depend. For nearly a decade, Erica has dedicated her professional energy to advancing the use of mass timber. She began her journey as a sales representative for Structurlam, and went on to establish Swinerton’s mass timber division, which became Timberlab – a leading provider of holistic mass timber systems with a reputation for collaboration and innovation. As VP and Director of Preconstruction, Erica brought mass timber dreams to life, helping to deliver precedent-setting projects including Seattle’s Heartwood – a workforce housing project the first Type IV-C building permitted and constructed in the United States. Erica holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. She was named a DJC Oregon Women of Vision, and one of ThinkWood’s Leading Women Innovating in AEC and Beyond. She resides in Portland, Oregon with her amazing partner and sons.

Andrea Chiu is a licensed structural engineer in California with over a decade of design consulting experience. She has collaborated with developers, architects, and contractors to shape the built environment in various sectors, including medical offices, civic centers, schools, and office buildings. As the Los Angeles/Orange County Building Solutions Specialist with Nucor’s Construction Solutions division, Andrea is excited to partner with members of the AEC industry and share Nucor’s portfolio of innovative steel solutions and leadership in sustainable steelmaking.

Daniel Gehman attended Cornell University in upstate New York before relocating to California. Daniel has been involved in the industry since 1986 and brings specialized expertise in architectural design to the Ware Malcomb team. As Director, Multifamily, he is responsible for the growth of the multifamily practice, focusing on business development, client service, and project execution. Daniel's background includes a variety of multifamily project types, with 25 years of specialization in Southern California and current projects in the Central Valley and Arizona. He currently teaches a class in the Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) program at the University of Southern California as an adjunct professor and is active in many industry associations.
