Troy Tomasik is a managing director of investments for Greystar in Europe, with responsibility for sourcing, acquisitions, and asset management in the UK and continental Europe. Since joining Greystar in 2013, Troy has led the acquisition and asset management of over £2.5 billion of assets and development opportunities. Prior to joining Greystar, Troy worked in consulting with the Cadmus Group, where he focused on energy efficiency and water policy. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, and holds dual bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and business management from Taylor University. Troy is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.

Jeannie Wong, Senior Vice President in Brookfield’s Real Estate Group, joined Brookfield in 2009 in Toronto as a Manager in the Corporate Finance team. Since then, Ms. Wong has worked in the New York and Berlin offices in various roles before relocating to London in 2014. Ms. Wong is currently part of the European Real Estate Investments Group focusing on Portfolio Management of Brookfield’s Global Opportunistic Real Estate Funds. Ms. Wong serves as a director on several of Brookfield’s real estate portfolio company boards in Europe. Prior to joining Brookfield, she was part of the assurance and advisory group at Ernst & Young.

Ms. Wong holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degrees in finance and accounting from the University of Waterloo and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Jane Donachy has recently joined the CUBO Board to look after the membership portfolio.

Jane joins CUBO having enjoyed a successful and diverse career in a variety of industries

both in the private and not-for-profit sectors including accommodation services, food

services, hospitality, retail and catering. This has seen her take the lead in five directorial

roles in the UK and Australasia.

“Having spent 10 years working in Australasia, I returned to the U.K in 2005 and specialised

in interim contract work within a wide range of markets to reacclimatise to the U.K, before

joining the University of the Arts, London in 2012 as Head of Accommodation Services,

before being promoted to Director of Catering, Retail and Accommodation Services in 2016.

Some of my greatest achievements include running the athletes’ village dining at the Sydney

Olympics, heading and leading teams, building relationships at all levels both internally and

externally to successfully manage operations in changing environments, compiling strategies

and carrying out analysis to formulate company direction which made a growth of over 10%

per annum. I have set and controlled P&L’s of over £40m, secured bids and presented to

boards to win business of up to £50m per annum. I have also developed innovative concepts

building brands to gain 10% growth year on year, utilising commercial acumen to progress

new opportunities.”

Richard Best was chief executive of the National Housing Federation for 15 years then of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation for 18 years; he was chair of The Property Ombudsman (for eight years to 2017) and chair of Hanover Housing Association(for eight years to 2016); he has chaired a series of commissions and inquiries covering rural housing, housing in Northern Ireland, housing for an ageing population, local authority housing, private renting, et al. In Parliament he has piloted five Private Members Bills through the House of Lords and has chaired two Select Committees. Currently he chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group on Housing and Care for Older People; the government’s Regulation of Property Agents Working Group; the Affordable Housing Commission (of the Smith Institute/Nationwide Foundation); and the Centre for Social Justice’s Housing Commission. He is a Church Commissioner, an Hon Fellow of the RIBA and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.

Deepa has considerable experience in all aspects of commercial real estate including development and investment, acting for domestic and overseas developers, property companies, institutions and funders.

Deepa has built up substantial experience acting on student accommodation and multi-family schemes for investors, operators, funders and developers. In addition, she has acted for developers (both national and international) on residential-led mixed-use schemes, including scheme structuring and risk analysis.

Gary McNamara, BEng, MSc, MRICS

Gary is Strategic Partnerships Director at Inspired Villages, a developer and operator of later living communities across the UK. Gary is responsible for fostering long-term partnerships with Housebuilders, Universities and Landed Estates to create later living communities.

Gary started his career at DTZ in Auckland, before moving to London where worked in the Investment & Corporate Finance teams. Gary was previously business development consultant to Barings Real Estate Advisors, property consultant to BGC Partners, the co-founder of “Indirex” the Secure Information Exchange and co-founder of Arca Property Risk Management.

Gary is a Member of the RICS and holds an MSc in International Real Estate and a BEng in Engineering from the University of Reading.

Eleanor Lindsay is Fund Manager responsible for a number of UK pension fund separate accounts. She is experienced in working with a wide range of institutional clients, both UK and International, establishing mandates and dealing in complex portfolio transactions and management. In addition, she has a current focus on opportunities in the healthcare sector. Eleanor has over 15 years’ experience working in the industry, and an extensive background in both the direct and indirect markets; including acquisitions, disposals and asset management, as well as setting up and managing joint ventures, undertaking developments and complex portfolio restructurings. She has also spent time working in the US where she was in charge of LaSalle’s global un-listed fund portfolios.

Working in the seniors living industry for nineteen years, Helen has held the senior roles of General

Manager for TriCare Nursing Homes (1200 Residents), Chief Operations Officer for Domain Principal

Group (5000 Residents) and Executive for Strategy, Standards and Service Development with

Australian Unity Independent and Assisted Living (3000 residents, 55,000 home care clients). As a

specialist consultant, she has worked with organisations in the private, community owned and faith

based sectors. Helen has observed operational performance and practice in over 300 communities

and facilities across Australia.

Helen has undertaken global research to shape her award winning residential care service model. As

the first aged care recipient of the Endeavour Executive Australia Award, Helen has visited and

observed practice in the UK, USA, China, Malaysia, Singapore.

Helen has presented on aged care service models to governments of Malaysia, Singapore and to

large audiences in Singapore and USA. Helen was a participant of the Australian government’s

delegation to the Care Expo in Shanghai in 2016.

With qualifications in Health Service Management and Adult Education, prior to working in aged

care, Helen worked in the international rescue assistance and transport logistics industries.

Helen is a Board member of the Common Age Association, a charitable organisation focused on

improving aged care standards in all Commonwealth countries.

Helen has joined DGS Capital and Lipton Rogers to lead the operation of Amicala Assisted Living

communities across London. In addition, Helen is the CEO of Allegra Care, a new start provider into

the care home industry in south east England.

Mike has specialised in retirement living over a 30 year career. He has been involved in a wide range of schemes from Hanover Housing flagship scheme at Woodside Square in Muswell Hill to a smaller co-housing project for OWCH ( older women’s co-housing) in Barnet. Both schemes designed by PTE architects.

He was retained by Hertfordshire County Council and their care provider Quantum Care to unlock a scheme in Welwyn Garden City and in 2018 secured consent in the Green Belt in Cambridgeshire on a very special circumstances argument for Henderson in conjunction with Care UK Ltd

The dawning realisation within LPA’s of the sheer number of homes that is needed for an ageing population has provided a wonderful opportunity on the strategic land promotion side. He is currently promoting a care element on a substantial number of strategic sites including Dunsfold Aerodrome for Trinity College and Great Chesterford In North Essex for Grosvenor. What is clear is the lack of sophistication amongst authorities on the range of housing that is needed.

Kevin joined the Octopus Real Estate Executive Management Team in 2018 as Director, Retirement Communities.

Kevin is a member of the Octopus Real Estate Investment Committee and is responsible for raising funds to facilitate the development of high-quality retirement communities that meet the high standards of the UK’s ageing population.

Kevin has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare sector. He is a founding member of ARCO and served on the board of the Housing Community Association (HCA) as well as the National Housing Federations Development Committee.

Before joining Octopus Real Estate, Kevin was a board member at One Housing Group, where he led the healthcare business since 2002. Kevin completed 44 developments and invested over £500m into class leading assets and joint ventures with the NHS.
