Holly’s passion lies in the social side of architecture and in designing contextual, enjoyable spaces that create truly positive environments. With an interest in conservation, she has been involved in a number of heritage led, residential and mixed-use projects across all work stages.

Key project experience includes team lead for a complex structural package on a series of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings that comprise the Cambridge House Hotel development. In the residential sector, Holly’s experience includes proposals for the conversion of the Grade I listed York Terrace East and the conversion of Ravensbourne House into homes for later living.

Holly is a passionate advocate of promoting architecture and the built environment to under-represented groups and is involved with youth outreach, workshops and mentoring of young students through various partners such as the Beyond the Box, The City Centre, NLA and RIBA. Within the practice, she develops and manages a programme of events and activities to enhance connections in academia and research and is a Design Think Tank Leader at the LSA. Holly is also a member of the PDP London EDI group and takes an leading role in business development.

Jason is a business leader with more than 20 years’ experience in operational leadership and strategy. Prior to joining Riverstone, Jason was CEO of London Executive Offices, the leading provider of luxury serviced offices in London. Jason has broad experience of customer service focused businesses from his 13 years in high-level management positions at Compass Group where he delivered significant cultural and organisational change to drive revenue across the business. Jason holds a law degree from Oxford University and spent his early career as a corporate lawyer. During weekends he loves to cycle, in between ferrying his two teenage children to sporting and social events.

Sadie joined Moorfield in 2007 and sits on the Operational Board as Head of Special Projects & Legal. She is responsible for overseeing and implementing specific projects that require both private equity and real estate knowledge, as well as leading our in-house legal function. Sadie also manages the Moorfield (and its investments’) brand, corporate communications and digital media strategy, together with various other operational matters. She also oversees our ESG policy and our transactional, legal and regulatory functions.

Sadie has an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a post graduate degree in Law. Prior to joining Moorfield, Sadie worked in the Private Equity group at Clifford Chance where she advised international private equity clients on acquisitions, disposals, MBOs and listings.

Sadie sits on the BPF Healthcare Committee and Retirement Villages working group.

Simon has a strong track record in operational real estate with 15 years' experience having funded and managed over £2 billion of assets. Simon is a strategic leader with extensive experience growing businesses in new markets. He is a qualified accountant with a background in investment management and corporate finance. Prior to joining Riverstone Simon was CFO and MD (Asia Pacific) of Global Student Accommodation Group. He enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with his family.

Rachel advises on all aspects of investment, development and real estate finance transactions, with particular expertise in the senior living and extra care and build to rent/private rented sectors. Rachel leads the Senior Living Group at Addleshaw Goddard.

Anna is the CEO of Tonic Housing, who have recently opened the UK’s first LGBT+ affirming retirement community in central London. She is Co-Chair of HouseProud and a member of the London Housing Panel. Prior to joining Tonic, she was Executive Director of UK Cohousing and active in the growing community-led housing movement, helping to establish new community-led housing hubs across the country and getting the Community Housing Fund launched for community groups to directly access funding. Anna has worked in the property sector for over 30 years, specialising in community-led development, working for housing associations, local authorities and developers.

I started my working career in General Practice surveying in private practice. After a short stint working with people with a learning disability in a number of regional and national senior roles I moved to work in the older persons housing development sector where I have been for the last almost 20 years for a number of providers both private and charitable. I joined Anchor in Summer 2017 pre-merger with Hanover and developed our 10 year growth strategy focussing on affordable mid-market homes (shared ownership and affordable rent) and homeownership models with a target for 5700 new homes by 2031 across identified priority areas of England

Simon was formerly Head of Land & Development at JLL leading on some of London’s largest land transactions, regeneration and land assembly including Canada Water, Nine Elms and Meridian Water.

Since 2020 Simon has taken the lead on JLL’s UK Health, Later Living and Care business, focussing on better social outcomes through development, in recognition of increasing longevity. Utilising Simon’s significant exposure to the land, planning and development market, JLL is looking to help change the traditional thinking of retirement in later life, and encouraging policy makers and stakeholders to consider the changing needs of society through life. The UK needs a refreshed overview of its future housing needs in order to provide appropriate homes and multiple tenures for all stages and ages, and build more resilient communities.

Pedro is an award-winning architect and urban designer with project experience in many cities around the globe. In central London, he has worked on prime residences such as Auriens Chelsea, which redefines later living and Chelsea Barracks Townhouses which is a contemporary take on the classic Georgian home. Pedro’s housing experience also extends to sustainable and affordable developments such as One Church Square. In urban design he is working on the bio-diverse vision for the Low Line in Southwark, previously he has given portfolio advice for a range of sites in Chelsea for a charitable trust. Pedro was awarded four national South African Institute Architects’ Merit Awards in one year. He joined PDP London as a Partner in 2005 and is creative lead in the practice.

Dominic Morris is a real estate partner and Head of Senior Living at Gowling WLG. He has over 20 years' experience, advising on project structuring, development agreements, management agreements, joint ventures, funding agreements, acquisitions and disposals, plot sales and lease and rental model structuring.

With a focus on the rapidly expanding senior living sector, Dominic has a strong track record in advising many of the leading developers, operators and investors, as well as new entrants into the sector.

He also has extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary teams advising public and private sector clients on place making housing led regeneration schemes and transport infrastructure led development.

Richard Best was chief executive of the National Housing Federation for 15 years then of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation for 18 years; he was chair of The Property Ombudsman (for eight years to 2017) and chair of Hanover Housing Association(for eight years to 2016); he has chaired a series of commissions and inquiries covering rural housing, housing in Northern Ireland, housing for an ageing population, local authority housing, private renting, et al. In Parliament he has piloted five Private Members Bills through the House of Lords and has chaired two Select Committees. Currently he chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group on Housing and Care for Older People; the government’s Regulation of Property Agents Working Group; the Affordable Housing Commission (of the Smith Institute/Nationwide Foundation); and the Centre for Social Justice’s Housing Commission. He is a Church Commissioner, an Hon Fellow of the RIBA and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.

Henry was formerly Head of Retirement Living at Savills. In that role he advised many of the leading UK extra care, assisted living and retirement developers and operators, as well as advising investors and new entrants. Henry in addition advised think tanks, policy bodies and industry groups. Prior to this role Henry was a partner for a retirement and care home developer / operator in Southern England. Over the course of his 20 year career in property, Henry has worked across the senior living sector.

Henry is a Director of Seniors Living Group, the owner of extra care operator Amicala where he is Chief Development Officer, and care home operator Allegra Care where he is Executive Director.

Amicala is delivering its first net carbon zero community in Bristol with First Base, as the first stage of a £300m JV with FORE Partnership. Allegra Care currently operates six care and nursing homes in the south of England and is in an initial £125m JV with Moorfield Group.

Sonia Parol, Design Director at Inspired Villages. Sonia is designing and delivering high quality retirement villages across the country. Together with the Inspired Villages Team, she is changing the perception of the later living sector through design and innovation and connecting with the residents. Sonia gained her experience in the sector working with the best later living operators in the UK as well as working on vertical villages in Sydney, Australia.

Richard Le Sueur joined the IWBI team in March 2020, and from a base in London, is responsible for driving the market development activities of WELL Portfolio in the UK and wider EMEA region. This includes supporting leading investors, developers, facilities managers, HR professionals and industry partners with an interest in healthy buildings in their early explorations of WELL Portfolio, in addition to sharing insights on market engagement and project experiences through industry events and workshops.

Richard brings to IWBI an operational and business development background in commercial real estate (CRE). Over a 15-year career he has worked within three major asset classes across a diverse set of international and local markets for a variety of owners ranging from institutional pension funds and high net worth individuals to local government.

With demonstrable experience in complex project and stakeholder management, be it through shopping centre positioning or commercial placemaking on large-scale city developments, he has worked with multiple stakeholders to deliver complex CRE projects through smart and sustainable design.

With a passion for good leadership, having commissioned and served in the British Army for six years on multiple operations, he is focused on providing practical and inspiring spaces for people to work in with the requisite resources to enhance individual and team performance.

Richard has a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Newcastle University and a diploma in Commercial Real Estate from South Bank University

Ann Marie Aguilar joined the IWBI team in 2016, and from a base in London oversees the day-to-day activities of IWBI across the EMEA region. She supports the business development and technical teams and is the first point of contact for clients and design teams interested in all applications of WELL Certification.

Ann Marie’s role is to support “early adopters” of the WELL Building Standard, by facilitating communication with IWBI technical experts to provide international translation, alternative adherence pathways and alignment with local sustainability rating tools. Ann Marie’s expertise in environmental sustainability and well-being has helped deliver strategic adoption of WELL into the UK, Ireland, continental Europe and the Middle East with support from BRE, Green Building Councils and other local market partners. She is also responsible for implementing new directives for research, growth, recruitment and education.

She brings to IWBI a technical background in sustainability consulting, having worked for 11 years with Arup Associates, the architectural consulting arm of Arup in their London offices. Her 17 years of global project experience range in scale from campus size to small city developments and identify a clear sustainability vision, objectives and measurable targets. She has extensive experience in LEED Certification, material deconstruction and material reuse processes. Whilst there she developed Arup’s health and well-being consultancy offering across their global operations. Previously, Ann Marie led her own sustainability consulting business in New York City.

Among the first cohort of WELL APs, she now also provides education and support to industry as a WELL Faculty member.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture from the New York Institute of Technology and received Chartered Environmentalist status in 2012. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, member of the Sustainability Futures Group at the RIBA and a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

John is a partner in the real estate group at Slaughter and May. He has considerable experience in a wide range of real estate work. He has acted extensively on acquisitions and disposals of all types of property interests, on significant development projects, on major lettings and on the real estate aspects of corporate and financing transactions. His clients include investors, occupiers, developers, livery companies, hotel owners, housebuilders and banks. He is listed as a leading individual in the real estate section of Chambers UK 2025. John is member of the Hall of Fame for corporate occupiers, is recognised as a leading individual for development and as a key lawyer for investment in the commercial property section of Legal 500 2025. He is recognised as a notable practitioner in IFLR1000 2024 and is also listed in Who’s Who Legal: Real Estate 2024.

Kenneth MacKenzie is the founder and Chief Executive of Target Fund Managers, the specialist manager for Target Healthcare REIT, which owns more than 60 care homes across the UK. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 40 years of business leadership experience with the last fifteen in healthcare. In addition to his responsibilities as Target’s chief executive, Kenneth leads the creation and management of Target’s client funds and oversees fundraising and investor liaison for the Group. In 2005, he led the acquisition of Independent Living Services (‘ILS’), Scotland’s largest independent domiciliary care provider. Kenneth grew this business by acquisition and put in place a new senior management team before exiting via a disposal to a private equity house. Prior to his involvement with ILS, Kenneth negotiated the proposed acquisition of a UK independent living business in a JV with the large US care home operator, Sunrise Senior Living. Prior to his involvement in the healthcare sector, Kenneth has owned businesses in the publishing, IT, shipping and accountancy sectors and he holds a number of pro-bono charitable roles.

John is Commercial Director for the Commercial Real Estate team at Aldermore. He is responsible for developing new propositions and enhancing the customer journey to meet growing demand. John has 30 years’ experience in the industry having previously worked in a number of national roles at Bank of Scotland, CYBG and NAB.

Edell is a real estate partner and member of Shoosmiths’ Living Sector group. Specialising in residential development, strategic land and healthcare sites, Edell regularly advises developers and land promoters in relation to large scale strategic land transactions involving complex site assembly issues, land promotion agreements, option agreements and collaboration and equalisation agreements. She acts for numerous regional and national housebuilders, strategic land developers and care home/retirement village developers.

As head of Shoosmiths’ Living Sector, Catherine advises on a broad range of real estate transactions for privately-owned development companies, entrepreneurs, PLCs and household names, and has significant experience of acting on residential development schemes. Catherine has a particular focus on the senior living & healthcare market, advising developers on acquisitions and disposals of care homes and senior living sites, as well as issues around pre-lets, forward funding and development financing. Shoosmiths recently won Legal Team of the Year at Property Week’s RESI Awards 2020 and is nominated for Seniors Housing Legal Advisor of the Year at the Health Investor Seniors Housing Awards 2021 in October.
