2023 UK OFFICE ARTICLES TO READ

Why This Matters

What You'll Learn:

  1. The flight to quality is real. But what are the leasing strategies for super prime office space in tier one locations?

  2. Companies are leasing less space but are expecting better service. With shrinking floor plates, more flexible leases and more occupiers per building, how are operating costs impacted?

  3. What are the leading development and design strategies to make Class B office attractive again?

  4. Office conversions: what is the risk/reward of refurbishing office space versus converting to another real estate asset class?

  5. What is the cost of refurbishing a building now demolition is less of an option, and how do you do it profitably.

Companies are taking up smaller office spaces, and those leasing office spaces must seek to renovate and upgrade their premises if they are to attract tenants, and ensure continued occupancy in the world of hybrid working. JLL also reported in 2023 that the total vacancy rate rose for the second consecutive quarter to 8.4% and remained above the long-term average of 5.4%. However, office tenants signed nearly 600 new leases in 2022, which according to Cushman & Wakefield is the highest number ever agreed. Hear from our expert speakers on what the real-life opportunities and challenges are of investing and developing into office space, what the future holds for in the current climate, and how these schemes are being operated in order to meet tenants' high expectations.
