70 St Mary Axe

Great design is not just about the way things look, it’s about how they work. Developed by Nuveen Real Estate, 70 St. Mary Axe is engineered for the changing shape of a modern, forward looking London that welcomes the world’s most innovative businesses – those who shape the future of commerce and creativity.

Arranged over three basement levels and twenty-one floors above ground, 70 St Mary Axe’s distinctive, curvaceous form soars elegantly from the surrounding historic streets, with its curved glass and anodised, aluminium-finned elevation wrapped over the top of the structure.

Event Summary

While the climate crisis can seem far away or like someone else's problem, we ask ourselves, why should the CRE industry care?

In short, because the future of our world is on the line!

In long, because with the built environment accounting for 36% of all global energy usage and 40% of all carbon dioxide emissions, the CRE industry should be doing its utmost to work to a more sustainable future.

Please join us at Bisnow’s Building for Future event, where we will examine how the industry is working towards net zero carbon buildings, and what strategies, materials, refurbishment, and delivery systems have been useful. We will dive into technology and discuss what type of solutions and approaches to data can inform, engage and ensure stakeholders continue to invest in resilience and energy efficiency.

Share your comments, post your photos and ask questions using #BisnowEurope on Twitter and Linkedin, and follow us at @BisnowEurope on Twitter for more local news.

  1. What is the CRE industry doing to tackle climate change? What works and what are the challenges?
  2. What are the main barriers to creating sustainable real estate?
  3. How is ESG affecting the way we invest?
  4. What innovations in design are most impacting sustainability, space optimisation, and tenant satisfaction?
  5. Does London present a large opportunity to implement sustainable technology?
