Chas Bountra is Pro Vice-Chancellor for Innovation at the University of Oxford. He is Professor of Translational Medicine in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine and Associate Member of the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Oxford. He is also a Visiting Professor in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Imperial College, London. Chas is an invited expert on several government and charitable research funding bodies, and an advisor for many academic, biotech and pharma drug discovery programmes.

He trained at King’s College London and the University of Edinburgh before taking up a post-doctoral fellowship and college lectureship in Physiology at Oxford. Prior to returning to Oxford, he worked for 19 years in the pharmaceutical industry, where he was involved in the development of candidate drugs for several diseases, including novel treatments for cancer chemotherapy and IBS. In 2018, he was awarded the “Order of the British Empire” in the New Years Honours list.

Peter is leading a programme for the redevelopment of the Guy’s and St Thomas’ campuses and community facilities in Lambeth and Southwark, with a combined capital value of more than £2bn over the next decade. Until November 2017 he was the Director of Healthcare Projects for John Laing, a leading international investor in economic and social infrastructure which delivered more than 20 major healthcare Public-Private Partnership projects and over 40 clinics and primary care facilities during his time there.

He has worked on the development of public infrastructure since 1989 and has substantial experience in the successful structuring and delivery of a diverse range of project financing, PPP and development projects in the healthcare, water and transportation sectors in the UK and overseas. Since 2001 he has managed the development of healthcare projects with a capital value exceeding £2bn.

Peter is a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and has served two full terms as a Non-Executive Director of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He also led the development of a UN standard for the use of PPP in the healthcare sector for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, and remains a member of the United Nations PPP Business Advisory Board.

Artem founded Mission Street in 2017. Building on extensive track record across investment, development and finance, he has overall strategic responsibility for the growth of the company, project delivery and management.

Prior to Mission Street, Artem was Head of UK Acquisitions and a member of the founding team of GreenOak Real Estate (now BGO), a major international real estate investment and asset management firm (at the time c. £10 Bn under management). He also previously worked for Morgan Stanley in their UK Real Estate team.

Artem’s track record spans development, asset management, real estate private equity and finance. This has included property acquisitions and corporate M&A, leading end-to-end delivery of complex development and asset management projects across the UK, and structuring debt and equity financing (both as the operating partner and capital partner).

Artem graduated with an MA (First Class Honours) in Land Economy at the University of Cambridge and sits on the Investment and Development Committee for the Institute of Cancer Research.

Simon is a Director at Bennetts Associates, a renowned UK practice celebrated for its pioneering sustainability initiatives.

Simon's passion derives from architecture’s potential to positively influence life in towns and cities. He works with clients in the property, science, education and culture sectors where projects include devising masterplans and designing hybrid workspaces, retrofitting listed buildings and creating vibrant all-day cultural venues. Simon continues to spearhead Bennetts Associates' innovative approach, with his recent projects which include Tribeca, a mixed-use campus for life sciences in the heart of London's Knowledge Quarter and Manchester's first net-zero carbon hotel tower.

Simon has successfully led some of the practice's most notable projects, including RIBA National Award-winning schemes at Shaftesbury Theatre and the Royal College of Pathologists in London and Storyhouse in Chester, and has recently led a research project on net-zero labs prototypes.

Martin Ray is Currie & Brown global pharmaceutical and life sciences industry lead. He has spent a significant part of his 35-year career in life sciences co-located with clients managing outsourced project delivery teams and has worked in most business areas and facility types.

Projects delivered include laboratories, offices, high containment facilities, primary and secondary production, filling and packaging, support buildings and site-wide infrastructure projects. This experience enables him to understand and empathise with our client’s priorities and issues, identify and mitigate risk and quickly shape our service offering to complement clients’ requirements.

Martin is based in our London office and has worked extensively in the private and public sectors in and around London, also delivering projects nationally and internationally.

Neelam’s diverse experience includes an extensive career in the pharmaceutical industry in global leadership positions, as well as public sector experience, designing and implementing initiatives to fast-track innovation development and adoption in the UK.

Neelam has led the development and implementation of national industry strategies for the NIHR and DHSC and has been an invited industry representative to deliver pan-European programmes spanning the private and public sector. Her experience is often sought by regional organisations that are looking to create or overhaul their health innovation strategies to improve health outcomes and generate economic growth. As CEO of MedCity, she championed the growth of a globally connected life sciences innovation ecosystem, convening established and new London innovation districts and working with UK clusters to promote UK Life Sciences internationally. Her current portfolio includes advisor to the newly licensed NIHR HRC (IVD) hosted at Imperial, NED on the board of the HRA, mentor to SMEs and leading regional health innovation development initiatives.

Billy Choi is a Director and Head of Life Sciences at Allies and Morrison, a leading

practice of architects and urban designers making architecture and places across the UK

and around the world.

An architect with a decade of experience in science buildings and innovation districts,

Billy has been leading projects for Imperial College London, Stanhope and other clients

in London and Cambridge. He also oversees Allies and Morrison’s work in life sciences,

led by a keen interest in flexible, low-carbon and progressive designs, and in creating

characterful and delightful workplaces for scientists.

Josh is the Global Real Estate transaction lead for GSK, focusing on aligning real estate strategies with business objectives and transforming the portfolio to create the World’s healthiest workplaces.

Mike is UK editor of Bisnow. Before this, alongside three friends he bought pan-European property mag EuroProperty out of non-existence and re established it before selling the business to PropertyEU. Prior to that he was editor of Property Week, and has also worked for Estates Gazette.

David Marks is the CEO and co-founder of Brockton Everlast, a London-

based real estate investment firm established in 2006. The firm has

raised over £2.20 billion in institutional capital, developing and investing

into 370 properties across 22m sq ft. Its current focus spans three areas:

a 2m sq ft masterplan of laboratories in Cambridge, 1m sq ft of office

development in central London, and Fora, London’s largest flex office

operator, managing 3m sq ft and 30,000 desks across 70 buildings in

partnership with Blackstone. David has been a member of the Bank of

England’s Commercial Property Forum since 2006 and a trustee of the

National Gallery since 2017. David holds a Master’s from MIT and a BA

from the University of Manchester.

Will has over 17 years industry experience in commercial real estate and has spent the past 5 years leading the evolution of the Life Science investment and asset management strategy at Royal London across the mandated funds. During this time RLAM have established a life science portfolio in excess of 1.5 million sq ft principally focussed across the Uk Golden Triangle.

Jackie Sadek has 40 years’ experience in property, specializing in public-private sector

partnerships. A former Specialist Adviser to Government on urban regeneration, Jackie now

runs Urban Strategy, an urban regeneration consultancy. She was part of the Grimsey

Review team on the future of the high street and is an honorary Fellow of the Association of

Chief Estates Surveyors. She is co-author (with Peter Bill) of “Broken Homes”. Jackie is

chair of the EG Public Sector Forum. She is also chair of the UK Innovation Corridor, a

bottom-up partnership of 15+ local authorities, six universities and hundreds of innovation

and science companies in the London-Stansted-Cambridge sub region.

Peter Langly-Smith is Managing Director of Reef + Partners. Pete has 20 years' experience in development and investment management and is currently overseeing the delivery of TRIBECA, London's largest purpose built life sciences campus in King's Cross: nearly one million sq ft of mixed-use, life sciences-led space across four buildings, where The Francis Crick Institute and the London Bioscience Innovation Centre (LBIC) are collaborating with Reef within the Tribeca ecosystem.
